Change screen label in a client-dependant way

Hello,
I've searched for this before posting, and I don't seem to find a definite answer. What I would like to do is change a screen label according do custom rules, in a client-dependant way (in runtime or not). I know how to to this in a cross-client way (through CMOD ), of course, but that's not enough for the requirement. Is there any enhancement technique that you know that can help me?
The report is SAPMV45A and the screen number is 4459 .
Any clues?
Best regards,
Joã

Hi Joao,
Below are the screen exits :
SDVAX001  Determine Billing Plan Type
V45A0002  Predefine sold-to party in sales document
V45A0003  Collector for customer function modulpool MV45A
V45A0004  Copy packing proposal
But there is no exit for the particilar screen 4459.
you can check exit V45A0003  Collector for customer function modulpool MV45A if this helps

  • Change screen resolution in mobile clients

    Hi,
Is there a way to define resolution in RDP mobile clients (wp,android, ios) when connecting to an RDP server?
It seems mobile clients connect with their native (max) resolution to the server, but most of the time it makes no sense. Full HD and 4K, extremely high DPI mobiles are coming and the desktop is very small on these devices. I know it's possible to zoom in
the session, but using full resolution it's a waste of bandwidth, especially on 3G.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am afraid that we cannot customize the screen resolution on these clients. We can only zoom the screen via Connection Bar.
    Thanks.

  • Change Menu Label

    Hi All,
We are developing MI application on AWT framework. Just wanted to know whether
there is any way to change Menu Labels? Our client wants the Menu Label of "Home" under
"Action" menu to be renamed to "MI Home".
    Regards,
    Gopal

    Hi
In the MI installation directory, within the lib folder, you would find the ME.jar file.  Open this file in a winzip or winrar tool and navigate to location <i>com\sap\ip\me\awtapps\home</i>.  In here you will find the file named <b>mobile_engine_en.properties</b>.  Extract this file, edit the same in note pad and search for the key word Home.  You would find this in two references. One of the reference is the key <b><i>xmit_STARTPAGE</i></b> with a value Home.  Just change this value from <b>Home</b> to <b>MI Home</b> and then replace the changed file back in the archive in the same location.  Then restart the client.
    Hope this helps.

  • Change Report Labels

    Hi all,
in my classic report i break the report for the Column1 and i need to change the labels of the headers depend of value of Column 1 in the current row in the query.
I saw that i can insert PL/SQL code to set the report labels, but how can i check the value of the column 1? The format #COLUMN1# doesn't work.
    Please help me, thanks
    sergio

Localization does not change any of the data or text objects that you created on the report.  It will change special fields and tooltips that are a part of the viewer.  I believe it might also change the formatting of dates and numbers.  Anything more than that is translation not localization.

  • Change Screen Lables dynamically

    HI
I want to change screen labels dynamically based on my sales area/Plant ... how can I achieve this task, what are steps I have to take to change the screen labels dynamically?
    Please give your input/suggestion.
    Thanks

I wonder if you could use some of the SD user exits in Sales Order processing.
MV45AOZZ is for custom PBO routines.
MV45AIZZ is for custom PAI routines.
They are meant for the screen user exits (Additional Data tabs at the header and item level).  They might get called for each screen.  Because they are the "older style" of user exits, you still need a access key.  However, SAP considers changes to these programs as enhancements, not modifications.
Same applies for USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION in MV45AFZZ.  This is called for every screen in SD order processing.  With a CASE statement against SCREEN-NAME and a check for the dynpro number, you might be able to manipulate the label values.  If I had access to a system, I would check... but I don't right now.
Many of the labels reference the labels for the data elements in the data dictionary, so these userexits may not be able to over ride the values.

  • Is there a way to use a date field and conditionally change its LABEL?

Hi I have 2 date select lists and desire to change the label text at runtime.
If I use it for one query it would be Order Date, another it would be Start Date.

    Vikas,
...a page template is a special case since everything is finally rendered on a page.Don't know what you mean.
references in page templates probably get evaluated first...References in page templates get replaced with their session state values when the portion of the page template containing the references is rendered, e.g., before the box, inside the box, after the box, in the footer..., and within each section each item reference is replaced "when it is encountered" with the current value of the item from session state.
There is a Before Footer computation that sets that item to the current timestamp.I see an "After Regions" computation. On your page, the form item is rendered using the current (from the previous page request) value of the item in session state. Then your compuation sets a new value. Then the remaining sections of the page template (after the regions) are rendered and you see the newly computed value in the footer section of the template.
Is there a way to pass in the current form item name to the shortcut so that I can have a generic shortcut that returns a different value for the label depending on which item it is being invoked from?Starting in XE and now in 2.2, you can use the strings #CURRENT_FORM_ELEMENT#, #CURRENT_ITEM_ID#, and #CURRENT_ITEM_NAME# in shortcuts. This makes PL/SQL Function shortcuts such as the following possible:  if '#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#' = 'P2_ENAME' then
        return ('employee name');
      elsif '#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#' = 'P2_JOB' then
        return ('job');
      else
        return ('foo');
      end if; Scott

  • Changing Field Labels of module pool screen dynamically

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me how to change field label of text field in dialog screen dynamically.
    The Screen/Transaction is standard one.
I have created a Enhancement point for this change in one of PBO module's subroutine for this screen.
This Field label is defined as a 'Text' field only. We can't change it any more as it is standard one.
Can anybody tell me the solution for the same.
I have to change this label value as per some validations and its corresponding text field value will remain as is.
    Thanks,
    Deep.

    Hello,
I think it is not possible, but try changing the name by Looping on screen table on PBO,
    Bye

  • Changing the Label of the LDB - PNP Screen Field(Date field)

    Hi,
I got a req. to change the label of the field "Data Selection Period".  This field is from PNP LDB.
Pls let me know, is there any FM or any other process?

you can customize the PNP selection screen by creating a report class. you will find the button in the report attributes.
or you can define your own selection view via SE80 an maintaining table T599C.
but I dont't think you will be able to rename the field lable.

  • Is there any way to change the label of my VO attributes

    hi ,
Is there any way to change the label of my VO attributes so that it will have more logical presentation
    Thanks
    Musahib

    Hello Alex,
I 've just checked my webbeans and the COLUMN_NAME_LABEL property is not use by the EditCurrentRecord, FindForm and RowsetBrowser webbeans.
I had the following line to my custom EditCurrentRecord, FindForm and RowSetBrowser.
So I can set Column display name ones for each webbeans.
It's better than do it with different methods for each webbeans!!!!
    if((String)qView.getProperty(attrs[attrNo].getColumnName() + "_LABEL") != null)
    rField.setPromptText((String)qView.getProperty(attrs[attrNo].getColumnName() + "_LABEL"));
In the ViewCurrentRecord something was done but with errors. Oracle Developers used getName() method instead of getColumnName()!!! So I rewrite it.
    if((String)qView.getProperty(attrs[attrNo].getName() + "_LABEL") != null)
    sHeader = (String)qView.getProperty(attrs[attrNo].getName() + "_LABEL");
    Hope this will help!

  • Urgent:Why Script is cliend dependant and smartform is not client dependant

    Hi all,
Can any one pls tell me why script is client dependent and smartform is not client dependant.
<b>Please give some real time examples in brief</b>
    regards
    tapu

    Hi
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SMARTFORMS AND SAPSCRIPTS ARE:
    1. script is client dependent one while smartform is client independent.
    2. In scripts we have to write print program while in smart forms it is not necessary.
    3. In scripts we can print background logo while in smartforms we cant print background logo
    4. In scripts we have 99 main windows while in smartforms we have only 1 main window.
    5. In scripts we should write paragraph format otherwise we cant execute program while in smartforms no need to create paragraph formats .
    6. In scripts we can print the text in only two character formats.
while in smartforms we can do with more.
    7. In scripts we dont have line types while in smartforms we have linetypes.
8.Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
9.It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
10.Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
11.Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
12.Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s, while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap, there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. Client dependence is a fundamental one. Whenever a smartform is created, a funciton module gets generated. So, we can access the smartform in different clients. But in case of scripts, it is not so.. So, scripts are client dependent.
Smart Forms are implemented using the Function Module SSF*, and all the logic lies in the FM. Function Modules are client independent objects, so Smart forms are also client independent
SAP Scripts are the Layout Forms that you design and there are aviable in the client in which you have created them, for making them available you have to copy across the clients.
Because, Sapscripts are saved in ITF format as text in client dependant tables STXH and STXL. smartforms are not saved in client dependant tables and visible across clients.
SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s, while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap, there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. As you have noted correctly, client dependence is a fundamental one.
Although SAPscript has had some incremental improvements over time, its forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively passive objects, with minimal embedded logic. These forms were designed to be driven and controlled by ABAP programs, much in the way ABAP programs read in database tables to produce reports; if you ever download a SAPscript form (e.g., via utility program RSTXSCRP), and look at the portable text file it produces you'll see what I mean. Many text objects (e.g., invoice header texts) are bound directly to documents which are client-dependent, so it makes sense for these text objects to also be client-dependent. From a complexity standpoint, SAPscript forms are close enough to these text objects where I can see how it made sense at the time to make them client-dependent too.
Conversely, a Smart Form is significantly more robust and complex. For instance, it can contain program nodes and nested tables with patterns. When a Smart Form is compiled, it generates an ABAP function module – and these are always client-independent. This is appropriate, given that this form has more in common with an ABAP program than its predecessor. For instance, when a print program calls a Smart Form, the form itself takes over to produce output, without any further direction from the print program. In fact, the join is so seamless that I often find myself using a Smart Form's Initialization section for logic to handle any data gathering not handled by the print program. I would never even think to attempt this with SAPscript.
I suspect several factors figured into SAP's decision to make Smart Forms client-independent, including customer feedback. There are significant advantages to client-independence. For instance, a change made in one development client happens immediately across all development clients. Among other things, this means we don't have to waste time figuring which client contains the most recent version -- they all do! In addition, transporting Smart Forms is easier, since we can safely bundle them together in the same transport as their client-independent print programs (no worry about mixing client-dependent and independent objects).

  • Changing field label for standard select option

    Hi All,
I need to change the label for one of the standard select option for the custom report category.
the field is PNPSTAT1 - original label is - Customer-Specific Status - which i need to change as per customer requirement.
Can anyone tell me the way i can do it so that it can be viewed with correct label not only on the selection screen but in further selections mode as well.
    Regards,
    Raunak

    Dear Raunak,
If you have standard select option for standard selection screen:
create a implicit enhancement for any standard program and wrote the below code at the end of the program and it is working..
    INITIALIZATION.
    %_s_PNPSTAT1%_app_%-text = 'ANY LABEL'.
If you have custom report select option, go to above Ravikiran's procedure.
    Best of luck.

    Abbas.

Thanks Vivek, your answer was very helpful, however that's only to change the application description that goes in ESS overview screen, i want to change the labels that appear within the webdynpro application.
For intance, change the label "Absense Type" by "Type" only.

  • Client dependent objects and client independent objects

    Hi Experts,
Is there a way to find which objects are client dependent and which are client independent? Recently, I changed a small GUI settings in testing client and the changes were happened in production also automatically without a transport request, how can it be possible?
How can I identify similar other objects changing whom it impacts other client w/o a transport request?
Kindly share your views on it.
    Thanks a lot..
    Regards
    Saurabh

Just small correction to Rahul answer - tables with field defined as data element MANDT are client dependent.
Usualy that field will not be shown in SE16 and SE16N transactions but you will find it's definition in table definition in SE11 - ABAP Dictionary Maintenance transaction, content of this field is visible when clicking on icon
