Change stage size in web browser without scaling
I need to change the stage's size without auto scaling (i.e.
cropping is ok) so that the user can scroll up/down the stage
either with the browser's scrollbars or custom scroll bars I
create. The height of the swf's contents change and so I need to
change the stage's size or somehow crop it so that it would match
the browser's size.
At Adobe's web site at
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/samples/
you'll find a link to the zipped sample files. In there, you'll
find a folder titled "StageSize". Take a look at this example, it
may explain how to achieve what you want to do.

Changing Stage size at runtime
I have been poking around and not finding any info on this.
What I want to do is change the height of the STAGE (not a
MovieClip) based
on which view I'm showing the customer at a particular time.
For instance...
I may have a thumbnail and a detail view for a product. I
don't need a lot
of screen real estate to show the thumbnail view, but I'd
like to make the
swf taller if the user switches to the detail view.
I don't simply want to make the swf taller by default because
I'll have a
ton of unused whitespace in thumbnail view, which will look
stupid.
I shouldn't have a problem with the JavaScript to change the
height
properties in the HTML tags for the Flash object, but not
really sure if/how
to do the other part in Flash. Everything I've seen so far
has been
read-only properties.
Thanks,
Chris.did you change stage size?
how can you do this without javascript?

Can I change partition size of external HD without losing Data
I have an external HD that I use one partition for backup and use another partition for Time Machine. I need to change the sizes, need more on my backup. Can I change partition size of external HD without losing Data? I just changed from a Powermac G4 using Leopard to a Macbook Pro with Lion, so I am also thinkin in getting everything set up, format the Time Machine with the old stuff and make a new Time Machine.
The Disk Utility can't change the starting point of a partition without erasing it and the data on it.

Change image size in web display of SRM MDM 3.0
Hello,
how can I change the size of the displayed images in the catalog?
I would like to display the image in the detail of the material data in the catalog larger.
The images are stored in in the repository.
Thanks for your help.
melanieYou can change this in the Web UI interface. In the Customize Display tab you can specify the size of you images to be displayed in pixel.
The UI interface that I'm talking about is where you change your OCI mapping, Search... etc
If you want to crop, resize your uploaded images you can do this in MDM Data manager.

Native swf stage size vs. native browser size
I want to be able to click on a link - http://fms.example.com/swfs/file.swf in an email, for example and have it open up in a web browser in its size that was set in flash, not open up full screen in a browser. any suggestions?
As I said, you could probably create one php file that is used for all, feeding it the swf filename with the url so that the php can process it into the code. You should even be able to weave a db into the picture in the event the file sizes vary, such that the php queries the db for the file WxH data and then writes the page code.

Dynamically change stage size on runtime
Hi everyone,
I need to change the stage size dynamically.
When i try to do this............
size_mc.onRelease = function(){
trace(Stage.height);
Stage.height += 100;
trace(Stage.height);
it comes always the current stage size.
Thanks in advanceYou cannot change the width and height properties of the Stage using code--it must be done in the editor. The width and height values can represent different things depending on the value you set for the scale mode, but you cannot reassign them to different values dynamically.
The solution just offered to you is under the same rules, the stageWidth and stageHeight values cannot be assigned using code, but that code is AS3 code so it will not fit in your AS2 design in any case.
The same goes for the followup offered in AS2. You will notice the stage size is not being changed... it cannot be. This is just a full screen design solution, but is not a soltuion to changing the stage size. The stage size can only be changed manually in the authoring environment. I don't know that the offering is answering what you are really trying to do, but it is not answering the titled task of dynamically changing the stage size -
Viewing iCal via Web Browser Without phpical or iwebcal?
I am neither adept nor savvy in the command line or installing things through the terminal, therefore, if anyone knows a idiot-proof way to view iCals in a web browser off of an in-house WebDAV server, I'm all ears.
My last comment on this is.
I'm using the gmail calendar, and have a program called "Spanning Sync"
to synchronize them.
If .mac could provide me with a working Calendar functionality, I would
have bought it. But now I'm content with using gmail instead.
Of course .mac has other functionality, but I only need email and calendar,
sync:ed and accessible from work, home-mac and mobile.
I think eventually, Apple will realize that their Calendar solution can be
improved and do this.

Add TWO Edge Animations/Stages to ONE web page (without using oam)
Hi All,
This is a bit of a follow on question for those who are adding scalable height/width edge compositions to web pages using the awesome piece of code created by Sarah (http://sarahjustine.com/) and other forum contributors... (attached code below).
My question is: How do I add a second Edge Animate composition to the same page using this method? So it's using "Stage" already... i'm guessing it's a matter of changing it to "Stage_02" etc in the following code? I've tried changing the relevant code but so far I have been unsuccessful in getting it to recognise a second stage.
Any help would be appreciated, many thanks in advance for your time.
Jeff

Changing file size for web use - multiple images
My most recent iPhoto event consists of 45 pictures, most of which are 1 MB or larger. I want to scale them down a bit for web use.
I do understand how the export command works. If I want to change all 45 pictures at once (select all), where should I export them to, and then what is the procedure to get them back into iPhoto? I would really like them to all show up as a new event in iPhoto (same pictures as the original event, only smaller file sizes).
Am I overlooking some easy way to do this?No you’re not overlooking an easy way to do it.
Export them to a Folder on the desktop and then import them.
However, why are you keeping these web versions? The more efficient use of disk space would be to upload them then trash them. If you need other versions in the future you can re-do them. Not a lot to be gained by holding on to them, is there?

Reducing image file size for web use without pixelation
Can anyone help me figure out how to best reduce images for fast web loading (in slideshows in Muse). I have done the save for web in PS and they are super pixelated now. The only versions that do not lose quality are the original size and they are huge files. Any help is appreciated.
Also can anyone tell me how big each image should be, what is considered a too big size (kb) for web images? Thanks HillaryThe settings I used were in the save for web panel and I saved the image as "medium" and the quality was 30, optimized was checked and it was scaled down to 16kb instead of 700kb. Is there a guideline as to how large in kb an image should be for good loading, it seems like with faster internet speeds we can go a bit larger for asset size. Is it OK to have an image as 65 kb if it is quite large (8 inched wide)?
I think I solved the problem. I just went in and saved the images as larger quality. I hope it does not slow things down too much. Any advice would help. -
Intel iMac OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I logon to bank via its internet portal and next screen takes up all 27" display.
Can this be controlled in any way or do I just put up with it, it is really annoying.Thank you for your response. Whew...i omitted to say I use Firefox... tried to logon using Safari... same
result Installed Chrome ...same thing Installed Opera... this browser actually has in its Preferences menu
the capacity to set JavaScript Options under the Conent submenu... DISALLOWED all of resizing of windows,
moving of windows and ability of script to hide menu bar ... this fixes the screen to available browser size...
so my issue has at least this resolution. Thank you Flet Cheryl -
Changing stage size midway through movie
Hi
I have downloaded a Flash movie from a library which I want
to use as part of a larger movie. The downloaded Flash movie is 300
pixels square, while the movie I want to use it in will be 765 x
100 pixels. The downloaded movie has a number of layers and is
around 100 frames in length.
Is there a way of selecting all the elements on the stage and
then a) reducing them all in size, which would be 33 percent of
original size and b) moving them so they are centered on the stage?
Or am I better working on a larger stage (would have to be
2295 x 300 pixels) and then publishing at 33 per cent of actual
size? Does one way have a benefit over the other in terms of
finished file size? If I do it this way, I'm still going to have to
move all the elements across the stage as a group (if this is
possible).
Many thanks for any help.Found the solution that worked (used ._xscale and ._yscale
instead of ._width and ._height
[code]
function resize_movie_clip(clip_loader_name:MovieClip,
max_width:Number, max_height:Number, center_offset:Number )
if( (clip_loader_name._width > max_width) || (
clip_loader_name._height > max_height ) ) // If either dimension
is too big...
if( clip_loader_name._width > max_width )
_root.picsPage_mc.txt_test = "func if 1";
clip_loader_name._width = max_width;
clip_loader_name._yscale = clip_loader_name._xscale;
if( clip_loader_name._height > max_height )
_root.picsPage_mc.txt_test = "func if 2";
clip_loader_name._height = max_height;
clip_loader_name._xscale = clip_loader_name._yscale;
else { new_width = orig_width; new_height = orig_height; }

Launching A Custom Web Browser
I'm fairly new to java and I was wondering if, from an applet, there is a way for me to launch a web browser without the toolbar and to a specific size...
I've gotten as far as:
AppletContext mainContext = getAppletContext();
mainContext.showDocument( link, target );
But I was really hoping to be able to customize the window that is created.
Thanks for any help in advance.you'd be better off checking the IE api
because you'll be launching IE
and passing arguments to it, ie
MENUBAR_OFF
etc
etc
This is not java api
its particular to the browser functionality
