Change step parameters in teststand edit mode

Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to change the parameters in a step in edit mode of teststand.
I have attached a sequence with one step, in this step I want to select DMMx.
After the selection I want to teststand to fill in the parameters in the step so I can the choose which type of measurement and such.
If this is not possible how could I make something like this possible.
As you may see this will be a HAL, and the only option I can see which would do this is bij a string array but I don't want to type in the commands in string.

My recommendation for doing a HAL i TestStand would be to use an object oriented approach.
Create a class hirachy of your instruments like the following inside of LabVIEW:
Then use Dynamic Dispatch to make TestStand choose the instrument of interest. There is an example of using Dynamic Dispatching in TestStand here:

This solution will offcourse require you to read up on creating applications using object oriented programming in LabVIEW. We at NI have a course that walks you through both the theory and practical implementation. It is called Object Oriented Programming in LabVIEW. If you have a SSP agreement, you should be able to find it as Self Paced Online Training as a part of your contract.

Hi bestware,
I am assuming you want to provide some sort of debug from your Operator Interface.
I've been looking at using the SequenceFilePreStep and SequenceFilePostStep to provide some sort of debug.
Using the SequenceFilePreStep callback you could place some code in here to evaluate the step running (about to be executed) and display an appropiate Dialog box to allow the user to change any of the available parameter.
My simple example tests if the step is a NumericLimitTest step type and if so, allows the user to change the Upper Limits only (said it was simple).
Now to Looking at the Locals and Parameters in the Sequence of the Step about to be performed. You will have to look at RunState.Caller.Locals and RunState.Caller.Parameters. Get a list
of the variables, find out the type and provide the suitable interface to be able to modify the contents.

Change background color during text edit mode

THis is a wacky problem...
I have a presentation template. The slide master has white copy in the title and black copy in the body/bulleted list.
When I try to use the template and edit the title copy, the background color for editing that line is white, just like the text, so I can't see what I'm typing. I can't figure out how to change the background color during text edit mode so that I can actually see what I'm typing. Is there a way to make this transparent?
For some reason, the body copy edit works fine: black text edited in either a white or transparent background color.

Or are they locked and only defined by the connector pane?

Changing background color in Edit mode?

Is there any way to change the background color in Edit mode. My background is white, very annoying.
Also full screen mode is Black. Also annoying, wish it was dark grey.

Any way to change speed of a clip in "over-write edit" mode?

I want to change the speed of a clip in the timeline without having to lock all the other tracks or having to move the other following clips out of sync. For example I have a clip which lasts for 1 sec, which I want to change to 3 secs. Normally when I do this in the timeline the other clips on the same video tracks which follows, will move their position..... How to change speed in "over-write edit mode"?

I think it's even easier to just match frame the "source file"... put your playhead on the clip you want to speed change in your sequence. Then type optioncmdf. Perform the speed change in the Viewer, then simply cut it in... Might help to put it up above the older, use the double arrow selection tool facing right to move the clips past this change later... pull the upper track speed changed clip down over the old, and viola.
Gotta say though, it's a lot easier to perform the speed change in the Viewer, and edit it all in as you go rather than doing it after you've put the clip in a sequence. (not always possible to determine what the speed change should be maybe, but sure easier.... FCP 7 handles this problem a lot better for sure, and worth the upgrade price if your machine is compatible.

SharePoint 2010 and PowerPoint 2010: Open PPTX File in Edit Mode and Open PPSX in in Slide Show Mode

I have the following issue while opening PowerPoint PPTX file and PPSX from the Document ID link provided by SharePoint 2010.
Issue
Initially when I opened PPTX file from the DOC ID link from SharePoint 2010, it is opening up in Slide Show mode which is not how we want it to be.
For PPSX, it is opening in Slide Show mode which is what we wanted.
Thus, I did some research online and found this article at support.microsoft.com/kb/q299824 which requires some modification to the Registry of the client machine.
I did the change as follows
Open Registry
Look for “Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPoint.Show.12”
Set BrowserFlags value to a
After the change, PPTX is opening in Edit Mode in PowerPoint which is correct but PPSX is also opening in Edit Mode in PowerPoint which is not correct
This issue only occurs if I open the document from the Doc ID link in SharePoint. If the documents are downloaded, it will not have this issue.
Questions
Can I set PPTX to open in Edit Mode and PPSX to open in Browser Mode?
Is this fixed as in if I change the registry setting it will affect both file types?
Is there other ways I can achieve opening PPTX in Edit and PPSX in Browser Mode?

Hi,
To make the PPTX file open in Edit mode and PPSX file open in Slide Show mode, I recommend to edit the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPoint.Show.12 to 8.
I tested the scenario in my environment with changing the key value to 8, after that PPTX file opened in Edit mode and PPSX file opened in Slide Show mode.

De-noise edit mode not saving.

My photos do not seem to be saving in their edited form. The de-noise and touch up changes appear while in the editing mode but not in the normal library while other changes do. What's up?

Hi,
Yes, I have been struggling with this for weeks... and the message from Madison explains it all...
You will only see this happening on large images because the iPhoto preview at less than 100% cancels the effect of de-noise. But if you open the modified image in a external software and display it at 100% you will notice that the de-noise is actually there.
The work around to have a proper display in iPhoto is to resize the picture to the actual size of your screen, and then start applying effects such as de-noise.

File too large for quick edit mode

just bought a 12 mega pixil camera. using the photoshop album has been great until now. i can not use the files for quick edit. i can import the files from my camera after doing the recomended steps but in quick edit mode i am not able to do anything with the files. I can totogglento CS and that's the only way to do any editing but it is time consuming. After a wedding i have about 2000 photos to edit and it's just fufrustratingo have to toggle each time for a quick fix like auto balance, i have 1G of RAM and i have version 3 and have had no luck.

More information on this issue....
I am importing them as JPEG.
I have cropped the photos by 1/100th of it's original size so by definition i am reducing the pixels.
ie, original jpg file is 3.5 MG photo:4368x2912 file type is jpg
camera canon eos 5d
error message is: "the photo you are tying to edit is too large and cannot be eidited. please try usign adobe photoshop or adobe photoshop element s to eidt this photo."

PS CC 2014 Exiting Text Edit mode when changing to another application

I just updated to PS CC 2014 on my iMac running Mac OS X Yosemite.
I noticed that if I enter Text Edit mode on a text layer and then change over (CMD+Tab or ALT+Tab) to the word processing app (TextEdit or Word) that Text Edit mode will commit.
In PS CS6 (my previous version), it used to be that Text Edit mode would stay on, so that I could change to the text document I want to copy/paste from and then back to PS. I mostly use keyboard shortcuts and rarely use my mouse/trackpad.
My question: Is there a way to get that functionality back? or is this a PS CC 2014 glitch?

Changing BEx Query in EDIT mode in production environment

Hello,
In our BI Production system, the BEx queries can not be opened in edit mode.
I have to change the query in production.But the same qury in developement is quite different.
So instead of changing the query in dev and transporting it to quality and prd, i want to directly edit the query in PRD.
Is there any way i can change the query in production directly?
If so, what are the steps to be followed?
Also, can we copy the query in Prd environment into developement environment?

Transporting from Production to Development is definitely not "Best Practice". For exceptions this is OK, but I can't recommend to do this on a regular basis. Because in the end you will turn your production system into a development box and create potential circular references:
DEV -> QA -> PROD -> DEV

Modify TestStand Step parameters from LabVIEW in runtime

Hi all,
I try to change parameter values of a TestStand step in LabVIEW. When I return from the modifying vi (Learn Barcode Template), the following happens:
1. I watch RunState.SequenceFile.Data..., I see the changed parameter
2. I watch RunState.Sequence.Main..., which is basically the same target as mentioned above, but here the parameters are unchanged.
3. I need the changed parameters in the Read Barcode.vi. This vi returns an error, because the parameters are unchanged.
4. When I restart the sequence, and halt at the first step, and watch again both parameters (the sam parameters but different path), the changed values appear.
Is there a method, which enables to refresh the changed parameters immediately? I tried for example IncChangeCount, but it just marks the sequence as changed. In the learn Barcode Template.vi I open and close the references properly.

Hi,
the parameters will be tranfered when the code module execution is finished. I don't understand what exactly you're changing inside your VI, possibly you can post the VI for getting some more information.
When you change your parameters inside the file you're calling in the first step, it's normal that the parameter in TestStand first will be refreshed when you execute the sequence once again in my understanding.
When you use the ActiveX API inside the LV VI and want to change values in TestStand, you can use variables. Parameters will be transfered when calling the code module or returning from the code module.
Another point is the interactive execution, is there a special reason why you execute without a process model? Possibly there could be changes in the runstate property object also...

Not sure what you mean by that: is that URL in an image, or is it actual text?
If it is in an image, then you need to extract the image, edit it with something like Photoshop, then add it back to the PDF.
If the URL is actual text, I suggest that you remove the entire URL, then add the corrected link.

Can't save any changes made in EDIt mode?

HI all
I am new to apple products ... but I am now playing with iPhoto 11. I am able to import my photos from my camera with no problems. And then, in EDIT mode, under "adjust" I am able to make a lot of nice changes - De-noise, sharpness, etc.. - but I don't have a button to allow me to save? I have looked at the user guides on line and they talk of a DONE button - but I don't have one? And when I go back to the photo library and look at the photos there, the changes I have made are not shown. But if I click on each photo individualy and click on EDIT again - the changes I made are saved? But I can only see my changes whilst in the EDIT mode per photo?
How do I save my edits back to the photo library? I want to uploaded the photos with the changes I made - but everytime I try an upload -- even a single photo - I get the original photo before my edits
Any help would be appreciated please

Your database is a bit mucked up (<- Technical term, that)
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
