Change the field format when Excel Downloading..

Hi.
In ALV, when downloads, some fields change into date format.
ex. In screen : 37-1
    In excel : jan-37.
How to correct it? let's me know..plz..
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
kil

this might be excel is treating that value as Date. you can make the field as Character field by putting a single quote(') before that value.
for example if you type--->  '37-1
in the EXCEL column, you dont see that conversion to JAN-37.
so to do that from the program, you can do by CONCATENATE
DATA : V_TEXT(10) TYPE C.
CONCATENATE <b>''''  "these 4 single quotes form 1 single quote</b>
            V_VALUE
            INTO V_TEXT.
so in the program the value in V_TEXT will be '37-1
if you check this in excel, the value will appear correctly now.
but if you open the file in NOTEPAD,you still can see the single quote before that value.

I want to download Firefox on a flashdrive so I can then download it to my home computer which is not connected to the internet. When I download Firefox, it won't let me change the path and so tries to download on a public computer, which isn't allowed. The reason I want it on my home computer is because I'm creating web pages and I want to view my html pages using a variety of browsers, including Firefox.

From another computer, go to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/, click "Free download" button, click "Save File" button, select your flash drive in "Save as" window. "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" file will be saved in your flash drive.
You just need to insert it in your new computer and double-click on "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" from Windows Explorer and follow instructions.

  • How can I change the date format in Reminders and in Notes?

How can I change the date format in both Notes and Reminders? Preference on Imac and Settings in IOS do not allow me to change the format in those 2 apps.
I Like to see 10oct rather than 10/10, as an example.

    pierre
I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example
From If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac - Apple Support
    OS X Yosemite and Mavericks
        Open System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Language & Region.
        Click the Advanced button.
        Click the Dates tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click the Times tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click OK.
Quit the app where you were seeing incorrect dates or times displayed.
Open the app again, and verify that the dates and times are now displayed correctly.
Then customize to taste - OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
Change the language and formats used to display dates, times, numbers, and currencies in Finder windows, Mail, and other apps. For example, if the region for your Mac is set to United States, but the format language is set to French, then dates in Finder windows and email messages appear in French.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Language & Region.
Choose a geographic region from the Region pop-up menu, to use the region’s date, time, number, and currency formats.
To customize the formats or change the language used to display them, click Advanced, then set options.
In the General pane, you can choose the language to use for showing dates, times, and numbers, and set formats for numbers, currency, and measurements.
In the Dates and Times panes, you can type in the Short, Medium, Long, and Full fields, and rearrange or delete elements. You can also drag new elements, such as Quarter or Milliseconds, into the fields.
When you’re done customizing formats, click OK.
The region name in Language & Region preferences now includes “Custom” to indicate you customized formats.
To undo all of your changes for a region, choose the region again from the Region pop-up menu. To undo your changes only to advanced options, click Advanced, click the pane where you want to undo your changes, then click Restore Defaults.
To change how time is shown in the menu bar, select the “Time format” checkbox in Language & Region preferences, or select the option in Date & Time preferences.
Here's the result AppleScript i use to grab the " 'Short Date' ' + ' 'Short Time' "  to paste into download filenames - works good until I try to post it here - the colon " : " is a no-no but is fine in the Finder
Looks like iOS Settings are a bit less robust

  • Field format in Excel - losing leading zero

I have field in query, which is varchar2 in database, but contains only numbers, most of which have leading zeros, i.e. '0123'.
When the report is viewed as html, pdf, or rtf data is shown correctly, '0123', but when viewed in Excel, the data is '123'.
Also, I have a column that is simmilar to this one - varchar2 containing only numbers (SSCC if anyone is familiar). This information is 17 characters long, so instead of '38503341002862100' i get '3,85033E+16' in Excel.
I noticed in both cases that the cell format in Excel is general, instead of text.
    How can this be changed?

    hi arubelj,
Excel sheet is made specificaly for number calculations.....and each cell which is having data is by default considered as number...and in numbers 0123=123 ,this is the reason why it is not displaying 0 in start..... i had cheched the excel setup options also..... but did not found anything there to change the default column or row type as text....

  • How do I change the numerical format of the axis in Diadem view and report

Is there a method for changing the format of the AXIS labels to show more significant digits? Second, I can't find how to display the menu shown in NI help document 3FIEI5LE. When I right click to (select properties) I get a different menu labeled (set proerties for display).
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,
There is no way to configure the display of the X axis in VIEW-- this is for a quick look at or an interactive visual inspection of your data. For a fully configurable report creation environment you should switch to REPORT. Note that the last button on the top icon bar in VIEW with the tipstrip "Transfer to REPORT" will transfer what you currently have displayed in VIEW into a new REPORT layout.
In REPORT if you double-click on the numbers below the X axis, a "2D - Numeric display" configuration dialog will appear which has the field "Format:" in it. Type in "d.dddd" ("d,dddd" in Europe) or as many d's after the decimal character as you want to display. There are also other formatting options for scientific display, etc.
I honestly didn't understand your second question about the help dialog-- what version of DIAdem are you using?

  • How do I change the date format?

Sorry, but I'm new to Oracle!
I'm using "sqlplusw" to build my SQL statements. When I return columns that are date fields, I get the DD-MON-YY format. I want dates to be returned in "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS". My DBA won't change the date format on the server, so how do I change SQLPLUS to return dates in the format I want? Do I need set this in some kind of startup file, or a reg key?
Using client version 9.2.0.5 against a 9.2.0.1 server
    Jeff

There are a couple of ways you could do it.
    Way 1:
Search for a file by name 'glogin.sql' on your client work station and add the following statement
alter session set nls_date_format = 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS';Make sure you save the file. This change will apply to all users who will log into the database using SQL*PLUS from your machine.
    Way 2:
Create a shortcut and place it some where (for example on the 'DESKTOP').
Right click on the short cut and choose properties.
Change the text corresponding to the 'Start in' box to reflect the current location of the shortcut.
Create a file by name 'login.sql' and place it in the same folder as the shortcut.
Edit the file and add the following line.
alter session set nls_date_format = 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS';Make sure that you save the file.
When you double click the shortcut to start SQL*Plus and login, the script 'login.sql' is executed.

  • Change the date format

By default the component <af:selectInputDate> shows the client machine's date format when the image is clicked. How can we change the date format of the same irrespective of the client machine's date format
    <af:selectInputDate accessKey="D" label="From Date:" readOnly="yes"
    value="#{EvalBean.fromDate}"/>Also
    1. How can we validate the date range also?
Eg: From Date should not be greater than To Date
    2. Should not allow the user to select Date (From Date or To Date) greater than today's date.
    Uday

If you want to do it at the page level you can use the
<f:convertDateTime pattern="dd/MM/yyyy"/> jsf converter inside your date field
and also the af:validateDateTimeRange tag to limit the date range.
If you don't want to do it in every single page and you are using the ADF Model layer for binding you can define a control hint on your date field that specify a format mask. You can also add a method validator to your date field to verify the range.

  • Can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports crashing on Linux :(

All I want to do, is to change one field's property from NUMBER to DATE in the property palette. It does not allow me to do it (not east like forms). I can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports keep crashing on Linux :(
I don't know if this is a Linux specific iDS issue, or a generic one.
What are the proper steps to change one field (in my query, the field name is ptime, it was defined as a number field originally, and now I need to change it to DATE and apply the proper format mask). The matching database field definition was modified from number to date.
    very frustrating...
    Any input is appreciated.

nop, did not change anything in the select statement at all. Just selected the related query under the data model (in the navigator), then selected the related query from within the property panel, connected to the db, then from the related navigor menu selected compile all, when the related query was highlighted (selected). Then I saved it, checked the groups, and bingo - the datatype was changed from number to date. Then I went to the related object under the page layout and applied the format mask (that was another funny story). And it worked. It is not as flexible as the forms for sure - pain in the a.. And I still don't know why Reports Builder keeps crashing on Linux - have no problems with Forms Developer on Linux at all. It is a certified RH platform with all the required libs, rpms, etc installed. I am certain it is not an installation issue. Maybe I should check Metalink and apply if an iDS 10gR2 patch exists for reports.

  • Preserving a field's value on changing the field access parameter?

I have a form that has a number of fields that are set to "protected" and have calculation scripts on them. If the user selects a specific radio button option elsewhere, the form sets the .access parameter to "open" and disables the calculation so that the user can enter whatever they want into those fields. The problem arises when the user imports XML data via Acrobat. The radio button choice is made (since it is bound to an element in the schema), but when the form changes the access parameter of the fields to "open", it fires the calculate event on the fields and we lose the value assigned to those fields from the imported XML.
Is there any way to preserve the fields value when it changes from "protected" to "open"? Here is an example PDF w/ XSD.
The more I dig into this the more I think this might be an issue with calculate.override not disabling the calculations on a field, even when it is set to "open" - at least until the user manually edits that field.

Ok, worked out a solution. It's specific to my application, but maybe someone else will get something out of it. What I did is moved the calculation script from the field I am changing the access parameter of (call it "Field A") to the fields that feed into that field (call them "Field B" and "Field C"). Now, when the user triggers the exit events on B and C, each one fires a script that updates the value of A. For my application, this works only because B and C are hidden from the use if they toggle the radio button allowing them to manually enter A.
Basically, instead of A pulling values from B and C to calculate it's value, B and C check each other and push values to A.

  • How to Change the default format for differnt language both in java and SQL

    Hello,
I am using SQL Anywhere in my application. And in my java client application user can log in with their preferred language like English,French,German,Chinese,etc....When even the user log in to the application the data from the database will be displayed with respective to the language. But when i tried to see the dates in Interactive SQL all the dates r in the format of '2008-12-5 16:44:10:673' but say for example for Chinese it will be displayed as '08-12-5 16.44.10' and for some other language it will come in some other format(which is standard format for those language).
Mean while i am using java client. When ever i am displaying a date it will be with respective to the language using Locale and date format classes. When i am displaying the date for Chinese in GUI it will show the date as '08-12-5 &#19979;&#21320;4:44'. In summary
    1. For Chinese, the default date pattern from SQL Anywhere date base is '08-12-5 16.44.10'
    2. For the same language date using java code is displaying as '08-12-5 &#19979;&#21320;4:44'. and i am getting the time format pattern as 'ah:mm'.I tried to change the display format in regional settings but no change in display.
Is there any way to make both the time format as same?
Please help me to solve this issue!!!
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hello masijade,
I did as u said but still the date display is not the same......And I'm telling you that it doesn't matter. What "format" the DB likes to display a Date in when it displays it, is completely irrelevant to how you display it in your GUI.
A Date does not have a format. A String representation of a Date does.
As long as you use getDate from ResultSet and setDate from PreparedStatement you do not have to worry about this. Those methods will handle dates to and from the DB themselves. You can then use SimpleDateFormat to display the Date anyway you want to.
Just because you show the Date one way, and the DB shows it another, does not mean that it is not the same date. Don't get hung up on how the String representation of the Date looks.
Edit: If you simply want to be able to do "Human Comparisons" then look at the SQL TO_CHAR function (for Oracle, for other DBs the function name may vary). And for Java, read the API docs for SimpleDateFormat (as already intimated above).

  • How can I change the numeric format of the cursor coordinates display in LV 8.2

Since LV 8.0 or so the cursor display window of a graph indicator seems to be a tree control. I couldn't find where to change the numeric format of the numbers displayed in that control. What did I miss?

    lecroy wrote:
Maybe I'm not clear on what your looking for but I just use a property node and route the raw cursor data out to what ever function I want to run on it, then display it in a seperate field.  The nice thing with the property node is you can have multiple graphs linked together by one set of cursors all with different readouts.
Yes, of course that's an option and I guess I'll have to do it that way.
The point is that I converted a pre-LV-8.x program to LV 8.5. In the program I had used the coordinates display field in the cursor legend to display the position, just the was the cursor legend is supposed to be used, IMO. And in pre-LV-8.x days it was possible to customize the numeric format property of the cursor legend (either directly or by property nodes). It seems that with LV 8.x NI chose to use a treeview control for the cursor legend. With that 'improvement' the numeric formatting flexibility was lost since now the conversion to the string content in the cursor legend's treeview is happening somewhere 'under the hood'.
<rant> Why do they (NI) always try to 'improve' things (where nothing needs be improved) and sacrifice functionality on the way....? </rant>
