Change the Locale settings when scheduling the report with an Excel format?

Hi,
My reports have been scheduled with Excel format, however, when the report is viewed in Excel, the date fields are in the format "mm/dd/yyyy" i.e. English(United States) and they need to be in the format "dd/mm/yyyy" i.e. English (Ireland).
I am wondering if there is any way to change the Locale settings within Business Objects?
For the time being users have been advised to manually change the format within excel, however, this is not the preferred option.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.
The cell format is set as "Date dd/mm/yyyy" but it still runs as an Excel doc with the format mm/dd/yyyy.
When I schedule the report to run as a Web Intelligence document and then manually export it to Excel, the Date format is correct i.e. dd/mm/yyyy.
Any more ideas?

Mismatch in the local time when using the RWTime.

RWTime is showing +1 Hr excess for the local time.
Compared the time with the ouput of unix date command as well.

I tried your code using the same compiler on OEL 5.4, which is based on RHEL 5.4. I got correct answers for my time zone -- US-Pacific with Daylight Savings Time.
What time zone are you in (GMT+1 or GMT+2), and is DST supposed to be in effect?
The likely sources of the problem are that your machine does not set DST correctly, or that you are in an area for which RW Tools.h++ cannot provide a correct answer. (There are some places where the local rules can't be expressed in the limited representations of time zones and DST in Tools.h++)
What is the value of environment variable TZ?

Scheduling a report with output (excel) to file location

Able to schedule a webi report and output format to excel and destination to file location.
Report is running at scheduled time/interval and writing the output excel file onto file location on BO server. The issue is, its creating the file extension in uppercase (ex: testfile.XLS). Is there a way to control the file extension to be lowercase.
Also tried to force "testfile.xls" (with extension in lowercase) in the instance title of report scheduler but still creating extension with uppercase (ex: testfile.XLS).
Any pointers ??

Hi,
I believe you can do this by switching the view to Excel and turning off the use job server defaults. You can then enter the name and extension as well as the destination folder.

Cannot connect to the OLAP source - when Scheduling WebI Report

Hi,
I am confused by seeing the above mentioned error on random days....
Scenario - WebI report scheduled daily:
Some days the report works fine and other days it is not processing correctly but gives me this error message "Cannot connect to the OLAP source".
Our connection is via BICS and it is SSO. Data Source is BW and we use BEX.
Person who scheduled report has admin rights, our version is 4.0 SP7 P5.
Please advise if anyone has faced this issue and if there is a solution, did try the community but only found that the key store was a problem but that was previous versions.
Any help or input is much appreciated.

Hi Sarat,
This problem can occur for multiple different reasons, so it's hard to give an advice for such symptom. Could you look at trace files from SemanticLayer component (it is hosted in APS with DSLBridge service), you should find clearer errors which can then be analyzed. There is no need to activate logs if it is still at level 'Unspecified', errors have level high enough to be output by default.

The JUNavigationBar don't works whit the locale settings (9.0.2)

I have a problem with JUNavigationBar, it ignores the locale settings. The application module configuration is set with "es" & "ES" locale properties. I check the locale when the app runs with:
Locale.getDefault();
app.getApplicationModule().getSession().getLocale(); app.getApplicationModule().getSession().getLocaleContext().getLocale();
and they are right ("es", "ES").
How can I get that JUNavigationBar uses the UIMessageBundle_es_ES which is deployed with the jar file?

I Performed the following local settings.
1. Before first line at the main method :
Locale.setDefault(new Locale("it", "IT"));
2. Locale properties in the Application module configuration
JUApplication app = JUMetaObjectManager.createApplicationObject("Project1.DeptEmpServices", null, new JUEnvInfoProvider());
app.setLocale(new Locale("it","IT"));
JNavigationBar , it ignores again the locale settings.
JNavigationBar doesn't use the UIMessageBundle_it.
I checked the locale settings when the app runs with:
app.getApplicationModule().getSession().getLocale() --> it_IT
app.getApplicationModule().getSession().getLocaleContext().getLocale() --> it_IT

When im at uni i have to change the proxie settings to use the internet

When im at uni i am required to change the proxie settings to access the internet, however unless i remove these when i go home i cant use my internet, is there anyway of saving these settings just for that type of airport connection?
I have quite a new macbook pro, was purchased in May 2010 so im guessing i have the latest software right?

At the top of the Network System prefs there is a location, most likely set to Automatic. From that menu select Edit Locations…
Select Automatic and select Duplicate Location from the gear menu.
Rename it to Uni or whatever you want. Select it and click Done.
Put in the proxy settings you need for the university and click Apply.
For Automatic, clear the proxy settings.
Now, when at the university, select Uni from the Location menu. When away from Uni, select Automatic. You can get to the Locations from the Apple Menu.

While using query extractor (rscrm_bapi) I am getting error message "Error when scheduling the query(JOB_CLOSE)".

Hi Uday,
This problem can occur if you changed the query definition.
In this case the query definition would be inconsistent with the existing extract structure.
Certain Meta information is maintained with each extract defined using the RSCRM_BAPI. If the definition of the query is changed and you need to use the same extract table then you need to delete the extract using the report RSCRMBW_DEL_ALL_EXTRACTS selecting the extract you want
to delete.
After this you could use the same table name for any further extract that you need to create.
One caution is that the extract table should not be deleted through any other transaction before you run the report.

How to disable the reminding dialog when close the webi report viewer
Background
When user close the webi report viewer in inforview by click the button in the right-top of the webi report viewer frame. It always prompt a dialog to remind user that the modification will be lost without saving.
But customer need to disable this dialog, and can clost the report viewer directly.
So is there any ways to modify this?
I think it shoule modify some .js file under tomcat, but can not find the solution.

I've had the same issue bugging me since installing Snow, er, lion, er, cat, er, cougar, er, Mountain Lion. Incredibly ANNOYING.
It's stupid stuff like this and reverse scrolling that really turn long-timer users off. I'm personally glad Forstall got fired for blunders such as these.
I'm serious peeved that turning off iCloud Documents & Data actually deletes documents and data locally. That's just incredibly stupid.

Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

Everytime I connect my iPod Touch (4th Gen) to my laptop, running Win 7 (64 bit) I get the message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. If you're still getting the error message (especially when you plug in the Touch), I'd check for a device filter confusion on the PC. (They can affect the connection of USB devices to a PC, as well as burning and importing CDs.) For that one, see:

A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage This is an Idoc error. Please check the Idocs :
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) Check in SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs and IDOCS.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - System log can also be helpful.

If you're buying HD movies, you can change the setting in the Store preferences in iTunes to prefer 720p. Or you can just buy SD versions.
