Change Topology without Closing Reference
Hello All,
Wondering if I should be able to change the topology of a MUX (reinitialize) without closing the reference? I have a application that loops through the basic initialize, connect, disconnect sequence for the NI-Switch functions, and the topology changes for each loop. I think my reference is getting lost, because it becomes invalid after several loops. Do I need to close the reference before I reinitialize with the new topology? I would prefer to not have to close it every time, because I have "cleanup" steps that close all of the references outside of the loop. Working with PXI-2527, LV 2013 and TS 2013. Thanks in advance.

This KnowledgeBase Article should answer your question. The last line reads, "When changing the topology, you have to close the present session if one is open, and reinitialize the card with the new DriverSetup selected."

Please note that even if I made that sample program which changes the baud rate without closing the port, I never used it in a real situation: you'll need to made your tests and check if this solution can satisfy your needs in the short and long term.

I ripped all my CD's to a NAS (.wav). How to import those to iTunes while changing to AAC without loosing references (CD-Title)
You could try my script ConvertFormat and see if you like the results. Would be easier than inserting the CDs and correcting the tag info again. Just be aware this is a one-way trip. Once you've thrown away some quality to shrink the files you can't get it back without going back to the source. You may better off investing in a bigger drive.
If you just want to squeeze more on the iPod you can use the built-in iTunes option to convert files to a lower bitrate as they are added to the device.

How to open a folder inside a folder, without closing the first?
I can't find a way to open a sub-folder, inside a mainfolder, without closing the main folder.
What's even worse, if you hold "option" or "command," (old OS9 muscle memory kicking in) it opens the new folder but wipes-out the ability to use the back button! So then if you needed that main folder open, and it's deep inside some chain, you have to go searching for it again.
So, is there any fix for this?
<Edited by Host>Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.

I used to be able to open a second tab to get to another web site without closing the first one...now I can see the second tab but when I click on it, nothing happens..

Disable LCD without closing lid?
As I use my Macbook as a desktop replacement, with external monitor and keyboard - I find it a bit of an annoyance to have to close the lid, wake the machine, then reopen the lid whenever I want to use the external display without the LCD active.
Is there a software/onscreen method that one can use to disable the LCD totally, rather than just turning the brightness down or going through the close/wake/open method? I know that older mac laptops have the option, but it appears to be missing in the display preferences of the macbook, and I can't seem to go through the right settings gymnastics to fudge together a solution.
It's made even more annoying by the fact that the ATI drivers that come with Boot Camp can allow windows to do this, but OS X can't.try pressing the F7 key on your macbook keyboard a number of times. (not an attached usb keyboard)

i think this only changes between mirror and extended desktop. i'll check in the office tomorrow, but I am sure this can be done without closing the lid 'cause thats how i worked the first few days (now i extend desktop to both screens, and leave email open on macbook screen - kind of handy, you should try it) -
Introduction of detail without "closing Master"

I'm creating my first Master-Detail Form, but there are a behaviour I don't like very much. To enter the detail, I must create first the master, this is not bad, but I don't want to close the form to enter again.
I explain. At the moment, I click on Create new Mastrer, fill the "header" and click on create. This returns to my report page, and I must click edit again over the record to add the detail.
How can I add detail records without closing the form?
Regards.On the master-detail page there is a branch that goes back to your report page. Change it to go to your current master-detail page or create a new branch to your current master-detail page when the create button is pressed.
The current be a branch might have a condition when the request is in "SAVE,DELETE,CREATE" that you might want to change depending on how you want the page to work. -
How to interrupt without closing
I have a socket, (and optionally a SocketChannel) and I have another thread that is taking the block.
I need to make the other thread finish its execution of the read() method once, (and thus causing it to check a few modified fields), without closing the socket, (like interrupt() does).
The solution needs to not harm the connection in any way (like shutdownInput()) and not stop the thread (like stop()).
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.You can't implement this in Java as stated. Platform considerations dictated that interrupting a read closes the socket. (I believe this was forced on Sun by Linux.). You will have to use a very short timeout on the read and have the reading thread effectively 'poll' for socket input and/or object changes.

Presently, I have 4 windows opened, each with a bunch of tabs.

Cannot select different print template without closing and restarting Lightroom 4
If I select an image in the library grid and then open the print module then I can select any of the templates eg 2x2 cells or (1) 8x10 as normal. However, once I've selected that template, if I decide to see what any other template might look like then although the small preview window at the top left previews the cell layout of each different template, the main viewing window does not update. The only way I am able to change the template is by closing Lightroom, restarting and once again selecting a different template - which I then cannot change without closing Lightroom and restarting. Very frustrating. I am using an iMac with Lion 10.7.3 and 12 gb RAM - everything else is working fine. The issue sounds similar to that reported on the beta on http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200783 where a reinstall seems to have helped. I have done a fresh download and re-install of LR4 but this makes no difference.

Thanks for responding. When the layout window does not operate then the layout styles sliders will still work and these will update the layout window. Late last night I found a post on

which suggests that the problem lies with the imported LR3 user templates and that I should delete all of those, (of which I have many), and re-create them. In investigating this suggestion I have learned that once the layout window has frozen, it does not matter whether I try and select a Lightroom template or a user template, the screen remains frozen - I think that helps with your second question. Even closing and restarting Lightroom generally leaves the layout window frozen.

I understand that you want to refresh the InfoPath form without closing it in SharePoint.
I recommend to edit the form and add a Update Form button which is used to refreshes all data in the form.
You can set the Update Form button action by adding a button control to the form, and then going to the
Properties for the button control. The Update Form button action is located in the
Action drop-down list box on the Button Properties dialog box.

To complete multiple tasks in a single window without closing individual
Hi Folks,
How much it is possible to complete multiple BPM activities in a single window?
Suppose i have a BPM process which contain 2 swimlanes and 4 steps.
First 2 and 4th step is assigned to swimlane A and step3 is assigned to Swimlane B.
Two users are involved in process and users are assigned at swimlane level.
I want User A which is assigned to Swimlane A to complete first 2 steps in a single attempt without closing windows each time.
As of now once a particular activity is over BPM prompts user to close window and then again select your task from UWL inbox and proceed. Is there any way to avoid that?

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
