  • Fnd_user_pkg.changepassword failing

    I have access to the fnd_user_pkg.changepassword function and I can't seem to get it to commit. I'm using the SQL statement below with no success. It completes but the password does not actually change. I have changed the user name below for this posting but I know that the user I have chosen does actually exist. I have put the commit statement in two different places just testing this out. I imagine that the function should commit internally but I'm not sure.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

    Does anyone know which one should be used and why? Private vs public?
    always use the public api. You are not supposed to use the private ones.

  • OIM 11g: UserManager.changePassword is a one time use password - why?

    I am writing an OIM application to bulk load passwords into OIM from another source. I am using OIMClient to connect to OIM and the UserManager class to set the password on each user. The method I am using is the following:
    userMgr.changePassword(AttributeName, AttributeValue, password.toCharArray());
    The problem I see now is that every time I call this changePassword() method to change the password on the user, it turns on the must-change-password-at-next-logon flag. I do not want to do this. The password I am setting on these users is their current password, they should not have to change it the next time they log onto OIM.
    I have set the system property that says a user must change password at first logon to FALSE. But changing the password using that API still sets the flag on the USR table record.
    Is there anything else I need to do to prevent the user from having to change their password again when they next logon?
    Thanks for any advice.
    -Dave

    Use the 10g APIs.
    void updateUser(Thor.API.tcResultSet poUserResultSet, java.util.Map phAttributeList, boolean changePassword)poUserResultSet - A result set containing at the minimum the user key and the rowver of the user record to update.
    phAttributeList - A map of name-value pairs, each entry holding an attribute-value pair to set/modify for this user. The Attribute names are the String column codes (from the Xellerate metadata). The Attribute Values are the String attributes of the columns to set.
    changePassword - Whether this update has been trigerred for a password change

  • UserPrincipal.ChangePassword thinks the password does not meet the password policy requirements.

    I am working with C# 3.5.  My goal is to have a simple program to allow a user change their Active Directory user password via a web page.  I have a console application to initially test the commands to active directory and I am running into a problem.
    my domains password policy is as follows.
    Enforce password history 24 passwords remembered
    Minimum password length 7 characters
    Password must meet complexity requirements Enabled
    Store passwords using reversible encryption Disabled
    The error I am getting is "The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800708C5)"
    I believe the new password I am using does meet the policy requirements and I can't seem to get this program to work.  All I want to build is a simple program to allow a user to change their Active Directory user password.
    My test code is below.
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement;
    using System.DirectoryServices;
    namespace ActiveDirectoryHacking
    class Program
    static void Main(string[] args)
    PrincipalContext adPrincipalContext = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain, "192.168.1.26", "OU=Staff,DC=SFdev,DC=org", "John.Doe", "Initial Complex P234dfword");
    Console.WriteLine("Validate user {0}", adPrincipalContext.ValidateCredentials("John.Doe", "Initial Complex P234dfword"));
    UserPrincipal user = UserPrincipal.FindByIdentity(adPrincipalContext, "John.Doe");
    Console.WriteLine(user.DistinguishedName);
    user.ChangePassword("Initial Complex P234dfword", "e$213434sDKS really? www.microsoft.com");
    //user.SetPassword("Initial Complex P234dfword");
    user.Save();
    Console.WriteLine("Press a key to exit.");
    Console.ReadKey();
    The .SetPassword works if I use a user with Domain Admin access but it appears the John.Doe is unable to change their own password with the .ChangePassword method.
    The output until the exception is the following
    Validate user True
    CN=John Doe,OU=Staff,DC=SFdev,DC=org
    I have no clue why any password I select for the new password does not work.

    I looked into the password policy and this is what I have learned.  There is a major difference between undefined and defined in policies plus making sure the defined policies are set with values that will provide the desired results.
    Since this is a development domain and is used for testing I have tweaked the password policy to allow me to develop and test against the domain with a little bit more freedom than a production domain.
    I have changed the policy to the following settings.
    Enforce password history 0 passwords remembered
    Maximum password age 0 days
    Minimum password age 0 days
    Minimum password length 7 characters
    Password must meet complexity requirements Disabled
    Store passwords using reversible encryption Disabled
    Now, I am able to run my program against the domain testing the password change utility.  My error was leaving some of the policy settings as not defined and not understanding what that really means for each setting.  For development of a password change utility I need the flexibility to test and the relaxed policy changes allows me to run the program many times without having to work with test data that works around a more restricted policy.

  • Create a changepassword link in logon page

    Hi
    I have to develop a Change Password link in portal login page.
    Approach 1:
    The approach in my mind is :
    1. Create a Change password application as PAR file.
    2. Create iview on this Par file in portal.
    3. Now create a link in umLogonPage.jsp in com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file in NWDS.
    4. point to iview created on step2 in link created in step 3.
    Approach 2:
    But when I explored com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par PAR file. I came to know that it contains a changePasswordPage.jsp in it as well.
    So, now I am wondering that why I cannot use this page only in umLogonPage.jsp
    If above approach is possible then what setting do I need to make in com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file.
    Please comment on both of my approaches.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    When "ume.logon.force_password_change_on_sso=TRUE" in UME property is set as
    TRUE, the system always forces users to change their passwords (when the passwords expire or are reset). This property by default is set as true.
    Moreover once the user logs in, there is change password option available under personalize link in masthead. I think this is the ideal way to change the passwords and have seen in most of the systems 'Change Password' working this way.

    For anyone else trying to setup AD Sync with 9.1, i was able to resolve the issue by decompiling the ChangePassword.class file and rewrite the changePassword method.
    The cause for the error was due to prior to the password change, the user defined field is changed, and after the password change, the same ResultSet is being used when the next value is being written to the field. Since the data had changed, the latest Exception handling would not allow the change due to the ResultSet being old/stale data.
    Also, you will run into a looping issue for bi-direction password resets because when you make a change in AD, the password in OIM is reset, which triggers the Change User Password task, which triggers the Password Updated if you are just returning the new password to the Password field, which tries to reset the password in AD again. This will lock up the domain controller. To get around this, you need to create custom code to check the value of the user defined field. If it's true, then run the setProcessData of the AD User form, otherwise, just stop.
    And finally, on the AD Set User Password adapter, you will need to set the adsync schema attribute to 1 prior to the password reset, to prevent the passing of the value onto OIM again. After the password change is complete, change the adsync attribute back to 0.

  • Can not get data from mySql

    I prepared a GUI user connection application in NebBeans 5.5 accessing mySql database in the company server. The application run very well in desktop.
    However, when I post it to the company server web, it gets nothing from the database.
    Can any one give advice???

    Thank you for your answer.
    I'm very new to mySql as server. When I was assigned
    to write the application, the administrator has set
    up mySql database in the company web server for my
    application. My program runs very when using my
    workplace desktop with java web start or with java
    web start in netbeans (all paths should be link to my
    desktop hard disk, i.e. users/application/). I can
    not run the application at home because I can not
    access to the company intranet server (for security
    purpose). The problem happens when I post the
    application in the company web page (I have to modify
    all paths in jnlp file to the company web address).
    The program then runs without exception except it
    seems that it gets no data from the database (for
    example, when I type my username, it returns that
    "There is no such user name. contact.." as what I
    code in the application for not correcting user name)
    It happens for not only using my company desktop but
    also for others.
    Please help me.
    Thank you in advance.And all this could have been answered yesterday, in your other thread, when I asked you "Is the DB configured to allow that user to connect to the DB from where that user is attempting to connect from?"
    Seeing as how you get that error, the obvious answer was, "No." At which point we could have continued.
    Configure the needed users into the DB, without forgetting to allow them access from the machines from which they are going to access from.
    Although, I agree with Rene, that you should set up a server of some sort, located on the same machine as the DB, for communicating with the DB.

  • Using Password_verify_function for EBS Application Schemas

    HI,
    As you all know, EBS Application Schemas (ex: AP, AR, GL, HR, etc) are associated with the DEFAULT profile and DEFAULT profile PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION is set to NULL. If I alter DEFAULT profile and set PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION to make use of a complex password function as below or create a custom profile with a custom password function, I am not able to change the Schemas password using FNDCPASS.. it throws the below error:
    APP-FND-02704: Unable to alter user PRP to change password.
    APP-FND-01564: ORACLE error 1403 in changepassword
    Cause: changepassword failed due to ORA-01403: no data found.
    The SQL statement being executed at the time of the error was: and was executed from the file &ERRFILE.
    According to metalink note # 1306938.1, it is mentioned that the error can be resolved by setting PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION back to NULL, which I dont want to do as we wont be able to enforce complex password function for the application schemas.
    Please suggest
    Thanks & Regards

  • Action Class

    My doubt is regarding the Action Class, now sun realesed the JSF1.0, and still do we have to return the Action class with the invoke() method (as in your example) from the action class?? or can we write a simple method in the bean class as follows
    public String changePassword(){
    System.out.println ("Change Password Button clicked Hi Hi");
    return "changepass";
    and based on the return string we can handle the navigation right??
    Another thing, If I am create a seperate class other than the bean class to handle the Actions, how can I get the values of the bean class from my Action class?

    >
    Another thing, If I am create a seperate class other
    than the bean class to handle the Actions, how can I
    get the values of the bean class from my Action class?I'm not sure whether i understood your question rightly.
    do you mean :
    JSF code like below
    <h:inputText value="#{bean1.name}"/>
    <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{bean2.update}"/>
    in above conditions, write managed bean like below:
    bean2.java
    public String update(){
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            ApplicationFactory factory = (ApplicationFactory) FactoryFinder.
                               getFactory(FactoryFinder.APPLICATION_FACTORY);
            Application application = factory.getApplication();
            ValueBinding vb = application.createValueBinding("#{bean1}");
            Bean1 b1 =  (Bean1) vb.getValue(context);
            String name = b1.getName();
            return "success";
    }but i thought this is a strange request.

  • In AJAX4JSF, reRender is not working properly.

    Hi,
    I am using JSF with ajax4jsf version 1.0.2.
    I am having the following jsf page and the corresponding bean class. If bean throws any error message, the javascript method "showErrorMsg" is getting called, but, "userProfoileErrMsg" is always empty. The same logic worked in one page, but not working here. Can somebody tell why this is not working.
    What I wanted to do is once an exception is thrown by the backend, I will catch that error in the bean class and take the error message from that exception and display that to the user using AJAX.
    I have a doubt here. How does reRender or targetid work in this case?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Replacing "Failure" with "null" did not work. However, when I added few println statements, I came to know that, reRender is getting executed before, catch block is entered. Hennce, I am getting the value of the of hidden variable as empty.
    06/10/20 11:10:24 In the set profile error message.
    (This is while loading the page)
    06/10/20 11:10:24 In get Profile err msg :

    06/10/20 11:10:49 In the set profile error message.
    (Don't know why two times set profile error message is executed)
    (Now the catch block is executed.)
