Changin gateway hostname in SMGW
Dear all,
This is an issue with SM51 TCODE. While accessing the central instance, it displays value of the application server in the display tab at the bottom right IE the value of the current instance. does not shift. So in our work around analysis, we concluded that in SMGW TCODE, the attribute is wrongly set.
Please suggest how to change the gateway host name attribute in SMGW. It is not set correctly.
Thanks and Regards,
Tony Koshy Mathew

If you have a stand alone gateway on WINDOWS then you can kill the process and start it again, if you have installed together with your Instance then you should restart the whole Instance.
Killing the process gwrd and then starting or forcing it to start will not work (waste of time), I have had the similar problem sometime back but on UNIX. I guess it will be same in WINDOWS as well.
So the better way is to restart the whole Instance.

However my JCO destinations were working perfectly until recently. I checked on the logon group. I have one called CLUST, which i use for this purpose.
I have also checked both service files and they have the following for the ECC server im connecting to.
3610 because its system number 10 i am connecting to.
sapmsDMI 3610/tcp
From the JCE destinations screen i cannot even ping the server. I can though when i log on to the server through remote desktop.

XI RFC-Sender not registred at SAP Gateway
Hi XI specialists,
i have configured a rfc-sender within XI using the blog: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
but in the transacion SMGW in my R/3-System (CRM5.0) there is no program id registred. The RFC-Settings:
RFC-Sender
GW-Host = SAP-BusiniessSystem (crmhost01)
GW-Service = SAP-BusinessSystem-Sysno(sapgw12)
ProgID = BS_CRM_LISTENER
Any Ideas ?
In XI-Monitoring: component_monitoring>Adapterengine>communication channel i can not find my new RFC-Sender....
Thanks.
Best regards,
André

André BorrmannHi,
Know sounds really silly but please can you give a program id without any underscore in your name and do the test!!!
Please give IP address:
GW-Host = SAP-BusiniessSystem (crmhost01)
Q 13: What is the correct value within the field 'Application server service (Gateway)' for sender channels?
A: This value has to be the name of the service port which is running the gateway. Normally this will be a name like sapgwXX, where XX is the system number of the particular system. This value also can be looked up in the gateway monitor. Open transaction SMGW and choose Goto -> Parameters -> Display. Beneath Attributes there will be the entries 'gateway hostname' and 'gateway service'.#
so is your GW-Service = SAP-BusinessSystem-Sysno(sapgw12) coreect?
From your server name it looks as though the system number is 01.

Net Parameter "keepalive" And Remote Gateway
Hello,everyone
There are some over time connections in the remote gateways monitor,Tcode "SMGW".I used command "netstat -ano | grep 172.27.0.*". Output like this "tcp 0 0 172.59.2.19:3300 172.27.0.203:59454 ESTABLISHED off (0.00/0/0)". I'm sure these connection have been overtime.
I have got Information which may be caused issues by WAN Firewall or other security devices from the note "743888 GW: gw/so_keepalive profile parameter".
My question is .If there are not WAN Firewall or other secrutiry devices and I don't active parameter "keepalive",these overtime connections could be off ? The sap would be check these overtime connections ?Hello, checking "Questions with no replies" I saw this yours...
(Hope you no longer need it)
You should consider also the parameters:
gw/keepalive
ms/keepalive
rdisp/keepalive

Regards,
Mahesh.Hi,
Please follow this steps:
Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP and Java Environment
You need to create the following RFC destinations in transaction SM59 (ABAP) and the Visual Administrator (Java):
u2022 AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
u2022 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 LCRSAPRFC
u2022 SAPSLDAPI
Depending on your client settings, it may be necessary to be logged on your SAP Exchange Infrastructure host as SAP system user with the authorization to maintain customizing tables and to release transport orders. Note, that user "SAP*" or "DDIC" does not have these authorizations.
Maintaining the RFC Connections (Transaction SM59)
1. Log on to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host.
2. Call transaction SM59.
3. Choose Create.
4. Enter at least the following:
RFC destination: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
Connection type: T
Description: <your description>
5. Choose ENTER
6. Choose the tab Technical settings and do the following:
a. Select Registered Server Program
b. In the Program ID field, enter: AI_RUNTIME_<SID> where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your Integration Server host. Use uppercase letters only.
c. Enter Gateway host and Gateway service of your Integration Server host. To find out the required parameters:
a. On the Integration Server host, call transaction SMGW
b. Choose Goto u2192 Parameters u2192 Display (see entries for gateway hostname and gateway service)
7. Choose tab Special Options and select the flag Unicode in the box Character Width in Target System.
8. Save your settings.
9. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 8 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
Program ID: AI_DIRECTORY_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host
LCRSAPRFC
Program ID: LCRSAPRFC_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
SAPSLDAPI
Program ID: SAPSLDAPI_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
10. Leave the transaction SM59 open for later tests.
J2EE Configuration for the Destinations (Visual Administrator)
1. On your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host, start the J2EE Engine administration tool.
2. Choose Cluster u2192 Server u2192 Services u2192 JCo RFC Provider
3. In the section RFC destination, enter exactly the same program ID and gateway options for AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER that you used in the step Maintaining the RFC connection above. Additionally, set the number of processes to 10.
4. In the section Repository, do the following:
a. Enter the parameter for the SAP XI host: Application Server, System Number, Client and Language.
b. For User and Password maintain the login parameters for the user SAPJSF.
c. Select the flag Unicode.
6. Choose Set.
7. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 6 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 10
LCRSAPRFC
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
SAPSLDAPI
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
Testing the RFC Destination
After you have maintained all RFC destinations in both the ABAP and Java environment, you can check all the connections above as follows:
1. Call transaction SM59 again.
2. Open your RFC destination.
3. Choose Test Connection. No error should be displayed.
This will solve your problem.

RFC connection error when registering PROGRAM ID.
Hi,
I created a RFC connection of type T.

gateway service: sapgwxx
Registered program id: xxx
It is giving me the following error:

Also I am not able to register this program id in Visual Admin -> Services -> JCo RFC Provider. Here it is giving me an error. Can anyone guide me in this?
Points to be rewarded for any kind of small help. Thanks Ramesh.
I followed the blog. Here are the steps that I did.
RFC destination:
1. To create the RFC go to TCODE: SM59 <b>-> Done</b>2. Create new destination of type T (TCP/IP) <b>-> Done</b>
3. Make sure you select Registered Server Program option before writing your program ID <b>-> Done</b>
4. Write you program ID (remember it's case-sensitive) <b>-> gave the SID name</b>
5. In the gateway host and gateway service write the values of your "Application system" - business system (not the XI server) <b>-> Typed the gateway hostname and gateway service "sapgw<instance no>", that I got from SMGW.</b>
But still I face the same problem. It get the following error:

SyedHi,
It seems to like problem with your program is not registered. As suggested by spantaleoni, you can go through.
Here Program Id must be case sensitive. Once again check with your program Id.
And, you have to register your program id in Visual Administrator.
Goto Visual Administrator:
In that Select Cluster>Server>Services-->JCo RFC Provider
Then enter the Program Id and gw host & service.
Hope this helps to you.

SLD import error in XI 3.0 SP 11
Hi ,
When I try to import software components versions in IR from SLD I am getting the following error.
Error: Unable to read software component versions from System Landscape Directory
Details:
Unable to read software component versions from system
Landscape Directory "<hostname >:50000" (SWC_IMPORT_PROCESS_EXCEPTION)
MESSAGE ID: com.sap.aii.ibrep.server.sldaccess.interfaces.rb_SLDException.SWC_IMPORT_PROCESS_EXCEPTION
Did any body come across this error ?
Thanks
SunilLooks like your RFC connection is not defined properly.
Go to SM59 transaction and open TCP/IP connections, check SAPSLDAPI RFC destination is working correct by clicking on <b>Test Connection</b>
If it is not working correct.
To find your gateway host & service, go to SMGW -> Go to -> Parameters -> Display and look for <b>gateway hostname</b> and <b>gateway service</b>.
Then look for Program ID in Visual Administrator JCo Connections under services.
If you are still confused, download install guide and look for SAPSLDAPI, the documentation is available.
http://service.sap.com/instgudies -> Netweaver 04 -> Installation -> SAP XI -> Install Guide.

RFC - XI - WEBSERVICES scenario - Where to create RFC Destination
Hi Experts
For my RFC - XI - WEBSERVICES scenario, I have to create one TCP/IP RFC destination on R/3 system with the following details
RFC Destination Name : XXXX
Connection Type : T (TCP/IP)
Activation Type : u201CRegistered Server Programu201D
Program ID : YYYY
Gateway Host : R/3 Details ..??
Gateway Service : R/3 Details ..??
My Function Module (Remote-Enabled) - u201CZZZZu201D is defined in R/3 System.
This Function Module should be communicated with the target system i.e. NW XI system
As per the Note from SAP Help: To be able to communicate using RFC, you need to define the target systems as RFC destinations in the sending system(R/3)
Target system u2013 XI Server
Sending system u2013 R/3 System
Are my details provided are good enough as per my explanation? Please guide me in this regard.
QUESTION : Where exactly do I need to create the RFC Destination(SM59)? on R/3 side or on XI side?Refer the following link-
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3414700)ID1636235450DB01012070359836134304End?blog=/pub/wlg/1438
what are the inputs should be given to Gateway Host and Gateway Service while creating RFC Destination??
Open transaction SMGW on the R/3 system and choose
Goto -> Parameters -> Display. Beneath Attributes there will be the
entries 'gateway hostname' and 'gateway service'.# -
Unable to launch HP QTP in Integrated Mode
Hi All
We have Solution Manager 7.1 sp 10, we have installed HP QTP successfully and when we run it independently it starts correctly however when I create test configuration thru SOLAR02 or STCE it doesn't launch.
1- Below is the screen shot when i create test configuration thru SOLAR 02 , but it didn't launch QTP
2- Alternately when i tried to launch QTP for same test configuration thru STCE , it gives below messages ( screenshot)
I would appreciate your help.
Thanks & Regards
Sidra HasanHi Hasan,
several reasons could lead to this problem:
1. User ECATT_ET_USR is not created, has wrong password or is locked
2. Network Settings:
The integrated HP Quicktest Professional requires RFC communication via the gateway service port to the SAP Solution Manager instance.
So if the backend network is protected via firewall from frontend network the relevant network service port must be open between each gateway host of SAP Solution Manager Instance and the frontends
clients that are planned to be used with HP QTP.
To find out the gateway hostname and services port run transaction SMGW goto parameters display
The relevant parameters are:
gateway hostname
<hostname>
gateway service
sapgw<nn>
The default service port is 33<nn> while <nn> is replaced by the Instance Number of the
relevant Solution Manager Instance.
Inconsistent hostname for message server could also be one root cause of the problem.
If not already known here the link to the how-to guide for Test Automation Framework:
https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000069232014E.PDF
Hope this helps.

Hi,
We have encountered a similar failure in Optimizer background job for two days in a row. The Optimizer fails with an error which says "An Exception occurred in communication object.".
Please let me know if running a consistency check on APO database would be of any help to resolve this issue. Thank you.
RishikeshHi Rishikesh,
You could check if your optimizer server is reachable properly from SCM.
The issue coud most likely lie in Basis domain.
There is a SAP document on Optimizer setup, but unfortunately I can't attach it here.
I am copy pasting some things that could be checked by Basis team (Choose the Optimizer below that you use):
1. Log on to the SAP SCM System.
2. Call transaction SM59.
The Display and maintain RFC destinations screen appears.
3. Open the node for TCP/IP connection.
4. For the first optimizer server, you have to adapt the following RFC entries:
- OPTSERVER_CTM01
- OPTSERVER_DPS01
- OPTSERVER_SNP01
- OPTSERVER_SEQ01
- OPTSERVER_VSR01
- OPTSERVER_MMP01
- OPTSERVER_CS01
For the second optimizer server, the RFC entry names end with 02 (for example,
OPTSERVER_CTM02) and so on.
To adapt an RFC entry:
a. Double-click the destination name OPTSERVER_<Optimizer>01.
The RFC Destination OPTSERVER_<Optimizer>01 screen appears.
b. Depending on the server you must do the following to check the RFC entries:
A) Standalone Optimizer Server:
i. Choose Start on Explicit host.
ii. In the Program field check your program path (see table Program Paths of RFC Entries below).
iii. Check the name of your Target Host.
iv. Enter the number of the gateway host and the corresponding gateway service SAPGW<GW_NO>. You can find out the required parameters on your target host as follows:
a. On your target host, call transaction SMGW
b. Choose Goto u2192 Parameters u2192 Display (see entries for gateway hostname and gateway service)
v. Confirm with O.K.
B) Optimizer and SAP SCM on Same Server:
i. Choose Start on Application server.
ii. In the Program entry field check your program path (see table Program Paths of RFC Entries below).
If your SAP SCM server is an Unicode system, you must do the following in addition to the above setting for each OPTSERVER_<Optimizer>01 destination:
a. Choose the tab MDMP & Unicode.
b. In the group frame Communication Type With Target System you must select the flag Non-Unicode and the flag Inactive for the MDMP Settings box.
I hope this would be helpful in some basic check.
If your basis team is not able to resolve the issue, then better to reach out to SAP through OSS.
Thanks - Pawan
