Changing cell height in a cross tab

Hi,
I want to reduce the height of rows in a cross tab. The help index says to click a cell within the cross tab to activate the sizing handles, and to then click and drag them to change the height. But the only size handles I see are the one for the data itself within the cell, and not the cell itself.
And if I right click on the cross tab, I get the Size & Position option, which seems like what I want. But when I change the height there, it saves my change, but the height of the cell doesn't change.
Ideas?

I have CRXI, you can try, crosstab expert, customize style, look for ShowCellMargins,
uncheck that box, now you may need to adjust things to add a little extra room.

    I am unable to bold a random Cell vertical line inside the cross-tab. My cross-tab is having access database which pulls every data correctly,
    To elaborate , here is the images to make it clear.
    First one is the current output of cross-tab & 2nd one is the desired output :
    To make it more clear ,
    I am giving the screenshot of Format grid lines option,  when I have selected Cell vertical lines , I can change Line options (Like style,width,color) from it. When I change it, it changes all three lines simultaneously. But, in that, I just want to bold only the last line of this grid.
    The screenshot as follows (To denote the lines, I have put numbering under the vertical lines, where I want to bold only the third one) :
    Please let me know, if  any solution to this. I m using CRVS_13.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    try to do this way..
    Right click on crosstab - > crosstab expert -> customize style -> select your particular column then goto Format Grid Lines -> select your particular one based view -> ok..
    I hope this not yet possible because select 1 automatically 2,3 vertical lines are selected..

  • Creating a header for rows/columns in cross-tab with syntax

    Hi,
    The issue is creating strings for rows or columns' headers. How can I create a formula field which contains more than one seperate string. Such as "aaa", "bbb" and "ccc" are headers and they should be in seperate columns. In short, they will behave like characteristics of one of my query's field but they are just headers of the columns.
    ..............aaa...bbb...ccc....
    row1.......x.......x........x.....
    row2.......y.......y........y.....
    Also there is another issue about the formulation again. Is there any operator that does the same job as " \n" which is used in C languages to break the line?
    before:
    aaabbb
    after:
    aaa
    bbb

    Hi Carl;
    Firstly, thanks for answering my question. To explain my problem there are two options ahead(for my first question); first one is writing down the actions step by step, the second one is posting an image file(jpeg etc) to visualize it. I think the first one will be enough. If not tell me
    Step 1- Create a cross-tab and right click and select cross-tab expert.
    Step 2- Click the button "New Formula" and write down any word(such as "Sales") between two -"- sign to make it string.Then save and close.
    Step 3- Drag and drop the created formula to "columns" section and fill the other necessary sections with your database's(such as xtreme.mdb which is famous for crystal users) fields.Don't forget to add another column value to "columns" section, since our formula has no link to database.
    Step 4- Then click OK to save the changes and lets preview the cross-tab.The result will have one top column and his child or children(that depends on your data). And this top column is behaving like a header not a field.
    Now turn the second step but write down a formula for 2 columns or more.For exmple "Sales" and "Profit".So the result will have 2 top columns and their child/children.
    My question is "what is the formula for 2 or more columns?"
    Also I couldn't get the answer for my second question. What is the meaning of expressions "\c" and ChrW(13)?

    Hello everyone!
    I have a detail, I want to make when selecting a tab of a folder, this change in height, then select another tab to return to its original height.
    I'm trying so:
    Private Sub Folder5_ClickAfter(sboObject As Object, pVal As SAPbouiCOM.SBOItemEventArg) Handles Folder5.ClickAfter
                oForm = Application.SBO_Application.Forms.Item(pVal.FormUID)

    Any suggestions?

    Already achieve that works to change the height of a tab, do not change the folder specified, change the height of the GROUPER containing folders.
    It worked like this:
    Private Sub Folder5_ClickAfter(sboObject As Object, pVal As SAPbouiCOM.SBOItemEventArg) Handles Folder5.ClickAfter
                oForm = Application.SBO_Application.Forms.Item(pVal.FormUID)
                oForm.Freeze(True)
                oItem = oForm.Items.Item("Item_32") 'This is the ITEM_ID the GROUPER containing folders
                oItem.Height = 298
                oFolder = oItem.Specific
                Me.Matrix1.Item.Height = 263
                Me.Matrix0.Item.Height = 113
                Me.Matrix0.Item.Top = 345
                oForm.Freeze(False)

  • Hide Cross Tab Header

    Post Author: lbassil
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    All,
    I want to know if it's possible to hide the header of a cross tab? The suppress option did supress the header, but leaves space equal to the height of the header. So I tried to set the height = 0, i could not do it because the minimum height is 70 (as I concluded). Any clue?
    Anyone can help in this issue? Either tell me how to make the height of the cross tab header = 0, or how to stop repeating the column header of the cross tab on each new page?
    Regards.

    Hi!
    if i've correctly understood your question:
    click on your left into the section "document structure and filters) (incon paper with a pencil)
    right click on your cross table block and select "format table"
    on the option page that come up there is on the right a flag "show top header".
    remove it a click ok!
    i hope this help!

    Hi friends
    I want your help in how to change the direction of the cross-tab crystal report to make it suitable for right-to-left languages. When I created a cross-tab report it looks like :-
                option1  option2 option3
    row-1    XXXX      XXXx     XXXX
    row-2    XXXX      XXXx     XXXX
    but in my case I want the report to be like this:-
    option1  option2 option3
    XXXX      XXXx     XXXX       row-1
    XXXX      XXXx     XXXX       row-2
    Please help me

    Hi Hamzah,
    Sorry I should have caught this before suggesting to post here... Crosstabs are limited functionality, always has been. I'll move your post to the report Design forum but I don't believe this will work.
    Add your request to the[ Idea Place|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/idea-place] and the PM's for Cr will look at it. If it gets enough votes they will add the ability.
    Thanks

  • Cross-Tab Report Custom Date

    Hello everyone,
    I need some help with changing the date interval in Cross-Tab Reports.
    I ran the report annually; however, the dates I want to run is really specific.
    How can I change the date intervals? Is this possible?
    Date below are 01/01/12 - 12/31/12, 01/01/13 - 12/31/13, 01/01/14 - 05/28/14. Instead of this I want to run the report 05/28/12 - 05/28/13.
    05/29/13 - 05/28/14

    Ido,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Is this how the formula should look like?
    If CDate({ORDR.DocDate}) >= Cdate("05/28/2012") and Date({ORDR.DocDate}) <= Cdate(
    "05/27/2013") then
    {RDR1.Quantity}

  • Cross-tab cell padding: how to change

    Post Author: EnRoute
    CA Forum: General
    I am trying to minimize the height of the cells of a cross-tab object.  I can re-size the text, but that doesn't change the padding between the text and the cell border lines.  There is more padding than I want.  If I reduce the text height any more, the bottoms of the letters g, j, p, q, and y are truncated, even though there is a significant amount of whitespace below.  Is there a way to change the amount of cell padding?

    One way to do it in CR XI is to right click on the cross tab and then Cross Tab Expert and in the Customize Style tab, uncheck Show Cell Margins.  That will eliminate the cell padding of white space.

  • Unable to get cells for the columns which have no data in cross-tab report

    Hi friends,
    I am developing a cross-tab report.
    Let's take an example to explain the problem.
    Here is the XML file i am using
      <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    - <!--  Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.11.3
      -->
    - <MODULE1>
    - <LIST_G_SCHEMECODE>
    - <G_SCHEMECODE>
      <SCHEMECODE>171091</SCHEMECODE>
      <AMOUNT>0</AMOUNT>
      <ASSET_TYPE>Govt Guarantee</ASSET_TYPE>
      <MARGIN>0</MARGIN>
      <AMOUNT_SECURED>0</AMOUNT_SECURED>
      <VALUE_OF_SECURITY>0</VALUE_OF_SECURITY>
      </G_SCHEMECODE>
    - <G_SCHEMECODE>
      <SCHEMECODE>171091</SCHEMECODE>
      <AMOUNT>0</AMOUNT>
      <ASSET_TYPE>Loans To Govt</ASSET_TYPE>
      <MARGIN>0</MARGIN>
      <AMOUNT_SECURED>0</AMOUNT_SECURED>
      <VALUE_OF_SECURITY>0</VALUE_OF_SECURITY>
      </G_SCHEMECODE>
    - <G_SCHEMECODE>
      <SCHEMECODE>171093</SCHEMECODE>
      <AMOUNT>0</AMOUNT>
      <ASSET_TYPE>Govt Guarantee</ASSET_TYPE>
      <MARGIN>120</MARGIN>
      <AMOUNT_SECURED>0</AMOUNT_SECURED>
      <VALUE_OF_SECURITY>0</VALUE_OF_SECURITY>
      </G_SCHEMECODE>
    - <G_SCHEMECODE>
      <SCHEMECODE>171093</SCHEMECODE>
      <AMOUNT>0</AMOUNT>
      <ASSET_TYPE>Loans To Govt</ASSET_TYPE>
      <MARGIN>0</MARGIN>
      <AMOUNT_SECURED>0</AMOUNT_SECURED>
      <VALUE_OF_SECURITY>0</VALUE_OF_SECURITY>
      </G_SCHEMECODE>
    - <G_SCHEMECODE>
      <SCHEMECODE>*171095*</SCHEMECODE>
      <AMOUNT>0</AMOUNT>
      <ASSET_TYPE>Govt Guarantee</ASSET_TYPE>
      <MARGIN>100</MARGIN>
      <AMOUNT_SECURED>0</AMOUNT_SECURED>
      <VALUE_OF_SECURITY>0</VALUE_OF_SECURITY>
      </G_SCHEMECODE>
      </LIST_G_SCHEMECODE>
      </MODULE1>Now I want SCHEMECODE in rows and ASSET_TYPE in columns.
    And the each ASSET_TYPE column is to be divided into 2 sub-columns (MARGIN,AMOUNT_SECURED).
    I am able to achevie this.
    The problem is that ,for the schemecode 171095, since there is no data for ASSET_TYPE "Loans To Govt",no cells are generated for this SCHEMECODE and ASSET TYPE.
    But the requirement is to generate blank cells.
    If needed i will send the template at xml files also.

    try this, there must be simpler one i guess...
    1. take a form field, and make its type as number. Paste the below one <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',2)?>
    2. now take a table with as below,
    A l B |
    C l D1 l D2 l E1 l E2 l
    observe that i. A, C are in one column
    ii. cell B is on top of D1, D2
    iii. we have no cell on top of E1 and E2 cells
    iv. 'l' represents the wall of the cell :)
    A: <?horizontal-break-table:1?> SCHEMECODE
    B: <?for-each-group@column:G_SCHEMECODE;ASSET_TYPE?> <?ASSET_TYPE?> <?end for-each?>
    C: <?for-each-group:G_SCHEMECODE;SCHEMECODE?> <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',2)?> <?SCHEMECODE?>
    D1: <?for-each-group@cell:current-group();ASSET_TYPE?> <?MARGIN?> <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1')-1)?>
    D2: <?AMOUNT_SECURED?> <?end for-each?> <?end for-each?>
    E1: <?for-each@column:xdoxslt:foreach_number($_XDOCTX,1,xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1'),1)?>
    E2: <?END FOR-EACH?>
    3. If you are confused gimme your email id, i will pass the template. But you should add credits to me.. :)

    Hi,
    I would like to change on my dashboard the name of the column in cross tab based on design studio.
    I know that it is possible to do that on back-end side and provide desired names in query selection but I will need to to that on Design Studio level.
    Does anyone tell me if it is possible ?

    here's additional CSS for it

  • Build the Bar chart from Cross Tab which have 3 measures with cell refr.cal

    Hello Friends. I want to Build the Bar chart from Cross Tab which have 3 measures with Actual , Plan and Forecast
    But Issue here is each cell is defferent like i have to do different calculation for each cell for actual, plan, forecast
    like A = Jan act/Budget actual, Where as B = Feb Act/ Jan Budg+Febbdgt_March Budget
    So now when I right click to say turn to Chart it is not generating the chart
    Please help how to build bar chart since i do not have 1 key figure which i can drag and drop in view structure of chart so how to handle this
                             Jan,  Feb, March, Aprl, May, June
    Actual                  A       B       C     D
    Plan                     N       M       O     P
    Forecast
    SONIYA

    Hi Soniya,
    It will be better if you can get these keyfigures calculated from the BEx with the help of structures in the BEx.
    At the report level it will be complex to create these variables and also not sure whether going to work:
    But you can try something like this:
    A= If (L01 Moths="JAN") then Sum (Actual)/Sum (Bud) Else 0 similarly for other months.
    Then you need to create one more variable (measure) which should be plotted on the chart as:
    Final Act = If([L01 Month]="JAN") Then A ElseIf([L01 Month]="FEB") Then B ElseIf([L01 Month]="MAR") Then C
    Final Plan= If([L01 Month]="JAN") Then N ElseIf([L01 Month]="FEB") Then M ElseIf([L01 Month]="MAR") Then O
    similarly you have to create variables for Forecast, then finally you can plot final 3 variables in the graph.
    Hope it helps you.
    Regards,
    Rohit
