Changing Editing Timebase AFTER project is edited?

Hi,
I just noticed that my editing timebase is 29.27 and I shot with a Panasonic HVX 200 at 720p60. I've been using the preset codec for the DVC Pro HD 720p60. Is it possible to change my sequence to 59.94fps in the editing timebase AFTER my project has been edited? I tried doing this and it completed messed up the audio visual sync and speed.
Also, what is the best codec for the Panasonic HVX200HD and is it possible to change this after editing as well?

OK, I have more info from the lead editor now. In a previous, very similar project, when the online house was given the 29.97 sequence with the same mix of 29.97 and 23.98 footage, they had no way to fix the repeated frame problem of the 23.98 footage. It goes frame 1-2-3-4-4-5-6-7-8-8, etc.
They are saying that if it had been edited into a 59.94 sequence, it makes a smoother conversion, because of the 3:2 pulldown. Instead of repeating every fourth frame, it repeats one field every 1 1/2 frames (or something close to that).
So our choices seem to be either a) use a 59.94 sequence, and reconstruct our first two days of work, or b) run hours and hours of footage through Compressor with some very specific settings to convert the 23.98 footage to 29.97. By the way, I tried two different tests of this, and failed miserably to get any improvement. Although it was now 29.97, it was still repeating every fourth frame. I was obviously wrong with one of the settings.
It still confounds me that copying and pasting clips from a 29.97 sequence into a 59.94 sequence would result in completely different parts of the clips showing up - even the AE's temp VO track.
My personal wish is that filmmakers would dispense with this MYTH that 24fps gives a video that's to be finished in 30fps a "cinematic look." It's completely bogus, and just creates problems.

Change edit wysiwyg tool bar width?

Anyone know Exactly how to change the tool bar width on the edit pages for the wiki and blogs.
I noticed the comment in /usr/share/collaboration/css/required/toolbar.css

that said to change it in the wiki.js, but changing/editing the mFinalWidth in the /usr/share/collaboration/javascript/wiki.js doesn't change it. Also noted that you make a change/modification to the theme.plist, but what changes would you make to that file?
Any ideas?

If your custom theme sets a toolbar width that is too small for the contents of the toolbar, you'd also need to override the inner div. Its default is set to 824px to keep the toolbar buttons from wrapping oddly as the toolbar opens.

Overriding the previous value would probably be a better option than realigning the action buttons, but if you wanted to do that, you could override the float property for the following:

Customizing the editing interface on your theme is completely unsupported, of course, but you can rewrite the styles however you want. If you know CSS well, it's fairly easy to change the toolbar width or replace the toolbar icons, but you could even restyle the drop-down menus, reorder the buttons, etc. The CSS is pretty flexible.
In order to dissect the page and figure out what to change and where to change it, I'd suggest using a developer tool like the WebKit Inspector or the Firebug plugin for Firefox. We used both extensively while building the app. Good luck.

I bought xpria X 10 yesterday and i am facing 2 major problems.
1) I am unable to send sms , i am sure i have to change my message center no but i dont know how to do it ? The instructions are given about Mini but not Xperia X 10.
2) Not able to sync contacts from my old Nokia N 96 .

1. X10 SMS service center number is system default and cannot be editor.
X 10 mini has an option of changing a message center number but this facility is not in X 10 Xperia.
Wat you advise me to do now ? I can receive messages but am not able to reply to send sms to anyone.

Basically every time i click on website other windows open and get redirected to other websites selling something (same as that mackeeper site which seems to open often) Really ***** as in just a few minutes on the web I have many windows open and many are the same pages. Can't make changes in the advanced tab of network as options are greyed out and the + & - symbols do nothing when clicked. Hope there is an easy answer as surfing net is really sucking right now

I have a new Mac Pro, less than 2 months old. OSX 10.5 updated to 10.5.2. Quicktime updated too. When I use the Desktop and Screen Saver system pref, I can easily select and use one of the Apple supplied desktop pictures as a desktop background.
But I wish to use a Photo from an iPhoto (iLife 08) folder / album as the desktop background. I can find all the albums, I can see all the icons for the pictures, I can select an iconed pciture and it appears in the top left of the preference pane (showing the effect of "fit to window" or "stretch to fit", etc). But all I get is a pale blue screen (which might be my default desktop colour). I don't get any of my iPhoto album pics to appear as a dektop background.
There is one minor note on this, I don't keep the pictures in my iPhoto Library, I just reference them, and the originals are on a different internal disk.
I've tried the suggestions above, trashing finder and desktop plists, killall Finder, etc. restart. Nothing gets it working again. It did work originally, for most of the time I've had the Mac Pro, then I changed the dektop to an Apple supplied picture of Earth.
This affects both an Admin, and a standard user. The photos (and enclosing folders) are read / writable by the admin user, and readable by the Standard user. Both users can easily access the photos in their iPhoto. They open the original files on the second internal drive, and performing a right click - Show File shows the original file as expected. I've even emptied the iPhoto library completely and rebuilt it, just in case there was an issue here.
Any ideas ? or anyone else seen this ? I don't really want to start reformatting disks and reinstalling the OS, but any suggestions short of this are extremely welcome.

SBO2007A can no longer change the Price after Discount on marketing docs

In SBO2005A (subjecting to Document Settings), you could change the Price after Discount. Thisis no longer available in SBO2007A (unless you upgrade from SBO2005A with the appropiate settings.
I have not found a customer who thinks this is good idea.
Good to reinstate the functionality.

Hi,
The field "Price after discount" can become editable if you unmark the checkbox "Calculate the row Total using the Unit Price" (Document Settings->General Tab). As default this checkbox is disabled for new installations.

Project Billing- Retention money due after project end

Hi,
We have PS, FI and SD integration. We have different contract for projects, which we are handling through PS.
We are doing billing for the contract project each month. Project duration is long and each month we are doing billing to customer.
We require that in each billing some part is belongs to retention---which is kept by customer from each bill and that will be payable by customer only after project end.
So when doing billing each month retention amount should be separate line item for each billing and due date for that retention should be the date after project end date. Bcz customer will release the all retention amount together only after project end.
If I take one example for the scenario:.........
Total Project Revenue (Contract Amount) 36000
Duration for Project : 36 month
Billing to Each Month : 1000
Retention = 10% from each billing (Due after project end)
Payment term : 90% due immediately, 10% retention due after project end date (means after 36 month)
When I am doing 1st month billing and maintain payment term as installment (90%+10%) than for this month system create two line item for billing i. e 900 (90%) due immediately and 100 (10%) due after 36 month.
When I will do 2nd month billing system again create two line item i.e. 900(90%) due immediately and 100(10%) due after 36 month........means this 10% will be due after 36 month from the date of billing.
I am doing billing in 2nd month so retention for 2nd billing will be due 1 month after the project end date......same will be continue for 3rd 4th.......36th month billing and retention amount will be due after 36 month from the billing date.
But for project related billing my all retention should be due on same date, which is project end date.
How to do this.....Please reply.

You can define an instalment payment term with 90% & 10%. You can assign different payment terms for these two items so that the payment date can be met according to your requirements. so make your payment date requirements in the payment terms and assign the same to the instalments.

What happen if I change a role after I released the transport?

Here is my Scenerio:
1) Assuming I've created a role : ROLE1 in DEV
2) I create a transport TR1 with that ROLE1, NOT yet released.
3) Then I added ME21 txn to ROLE1.
4) Then I released the transport TR1
5) Then I remove ME21 txn from ROLE1.
6) Then I transport role from DEV to QA.
Q1) I would expect In QA, ROLE1 will still has ME21. - True?
Q2) TR1 will be the snapshot of the ROLE1 when I release the transport TR1 - True?
Now, I want to delete the ROLE1,
A) I would need to create another Transport TR2 first with ROLE1 in DEV
B) Then delete ROLE1 in DEV
C) Then release Transport TR2
D) Then I decided that I still need ROLE1. (oops)
Q3 I should not transport TR2 so that it won't delete it in QA. - True?

You should add the role again to the Transport to avoid inconsistency

Answer: If you reassign the role to the TR then you will get.

Answer: TRUE (but without ME21 if you don't add the change to the CR - see below for detail discussion)

Answer: TRUE. And if you want the role again back to DEV without recreating it, please download the role from QAS or PROD and then Upload it to DEV. After that you need to generate the Profile of the role.

FYI: When a Change is Included into a request to send in other systems, then this request is called "Change Request" (CR). After Releasing, the CR called as "Transport request".
CRs are basically (in layman language) the Pointers to the DB changes performed. These are included into a CR as "Task". A CR can contain multiple Tasks created by different users.
Please note if this is a Workbench CR then it is ONLY editable by that particular user(owner of the Task). Also the Object captured in a Task of a WCR possesses a Lock till it gets released and thus can't be added to any other Task of a different CR. The Objects are unlocked when the Tasks and the CR is released respectively.
There are no Object Lock for Customizing CRs ... like your TR1 which contains Creation / Deletion of roles.
After the release of each Task, all Objects contained into every Task are transferred to the Change Request. After release of all Tasks, the CR owner can release the CR and thus the Transport Request has been initiated. Technically, at this time, a copy of Data from the Database of DEV captured under the headers of each Tasks are written to Data Files in Central Transport Directory.
Now coming to your queries..... there are no such synchronization happens for a Task if the Objects are edited in different time frames before Release. So, when you added ME21, again you need to assign this change to the same CR. (_Answer to your Q1_)

Authorizations are assigned to users in profiles. Profiles are stored in the user master record.

Does the user who would like to change the screen have the authorisation
for S_DEVELOP in his profile? Please run transaction /NSU53 after the
failed authorisation. You will get an information which authorisation
is missing.
Additional please check if you have open entries in transaction SPAU for
that object.
If you couldn´t solve the issue I need an user to analyse it in your
development system.
That user needs all authorisation for development and has to be
registrated as developer.
The system uses the authorization object S_DEVELOP for Workbench objects
can you please check your user master record whether it contains the
required autorization or not.
Please also ensure that modification adjustment is turned on as per note:

Changing the format after camcorder import

I've capturing a couple of hours worth of video, I'm now at the stage of starting to edit, but the format is saying that it's DV PAL, when I shot all the video in DV PAL widescreen. I expected it to detect this.
Is there any way to change the format after capture to widescreen or HDV 720p or HDV 1080i ?

In the Library module, Grid view, select all the images that have the wrong metadata preset, then in the Metadata pane (right-hand panel) click in the Preset box (see highlighted box in the screenshot) and you'll get a drop-down list of available metadata presets. Simply select the correct one and you'll get a confirmation box pop-up....click on the appropriate option (All Selected) and you are done.

Change Resolution of Premiere Project?

I've been editing a project at a draft resolution of 864x486. . The final res is going to be higher.
In the video settings for a given sequence, the resolution is not editable, nor do I see way to change res in the project settings.
Is there a way to change the res of my current project?

There is no draft resolution presets in premiere. There is only the dynamic preview quality settings that can be adjusted in the source and program monitor.
You can copy all of your clips and paste them into a sequence that is the proper size, then make adjustments to individual media assets accordingly. Or you can drop your "draft sequence" in a proper format sequence and see what happens, it won't be good I'm afraid.

Model change 5 days after purchase

5 days after my wife purchased a basic MacBook (80 GB HD), Apple announced yesterday) that the basic model now has 120 GB HD, a significant change. Would you have expected her to have been made aware of the upcoming change before her purchase? Perhaps that might be naive thinking on my part. Perhaps this is just the way things are with rapid changes in computer marketing...??
