Changing layout parameters in container
Hi,
Is there a way to chage layout parameters for component wich is already in container???
Sample code:
JPanel jc = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
JTextLabel xx = new JTextLabel("Text");
jc.add(xx,BorderLayout.CENTER);
public void ButtonClick(){
changePosition(xx,BorderLayout.SOUTH);
public void changePosition(JComponent x,Object o){
// Howto change layout constraint to component x
}-jori
Hi,
The gateway is installed within an instance by the dispatcher and reads its parameters from the profile file located in the profile directory in the SAP directory tree.
This means that the parameter can be changed in production operation (in transaction RZ10 or in the gateway monitor (SMGW) by choosing Goto ® Parameter ® Change. See Changing Gateway Parameters).
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Deepak Kori

Changing layout of ALV to excel and displaying the data there
Dear All,
My requirement is that I have to develop an ALV report, and also plot the graphs for the same.
I need different types of graphs, so I have searched on SDN, and I found out a blg:-
"Report with a Graph.. An Approach!"
Here is what the person has done:-
I developed a simple ABAP report using ALV and just dumped all my data on it.
After this I downloaded the Standard Excel template available in the ALV.
Defined my own worksheets in this template, wrote some macros to pick up the data from the RawHeader sheet, which is available by default and will contain the ALV data.
I inserted 1 chart in this Excel template. In this chart I used the same chart type as was being used by the user for his graph. Just right clicked on the Graph area and made the changes in the source data and made it point to the sheet containing the final data.
Thats it my job is almost done.
After this uploaded this template back into the report output through
the layout settings->Change Layout Tab.
Save it as a variant and made it a default. (Do not default it if you have more than 1 user and more than 1 template . Select the appropriate variant for the appropriate user and then display)
Well, this also was not that easy as I had thought. I landed up into 1 trouble.
In my report the number of columns displayed was not constant and kept changing based on the input. This fact was taken care by designing a variable field catalogue. But now I had gone past the simple ALV display and was giving the output in an Excel sheet using a pre-defined template. Well, I immediately found a solution to this with the set_frontend_fieldcatalogue method of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class and fixed the field catalogue every time after calling the set_table_for_first_display method. This solved most of my problems, which were not many though.
Now here are my issues:-
I have developed the ALV report, and I have also changed the layout to excel.
But, I am unable to get the ALV Report data in the RawHeader Sheet, which is available by default.
Could anyone please guide me through this method??
It is urgent.
Points are assured for helpful answers.
Thanks and regards,
PrernaHi Satya Priya,
Do I have to create my own template, or the Standard ones available will do?
HEre is what I do:-
Once I get my ALV output, I goto Change LAyout->View tab.->Prefered view->Microsoft Excel.
Here I get a list of available excel templates There are 2:-
sap_mm.xls, and sap_om.xls
I select one of these, and the excel spreadsheet is displayed on the ALV screen.
But the re is another button, "Upload Document to BDS".
Do I have to upload one of the above templated to BDS?
And please tell me in detail, what is BDS???
Thanks for your help, and waiting for reply,

Last edited by fu2re (2012-11-12 09:44:01)I have re-checked the issue and I found that the problem is with JPG file.
I wasn't even aware you could save a path to a jpeg file (always use PSD because of wanting to keep the Alpha Channel, jpeg only can contain 1 layer and no alpha channels and/or transparency).
However I tried it on a file with a simple path and one with a complex path. It seems indeed you have found a bug. The simple path is no problem but the more complex path is indeed disappearing.
It is not only label but also rate or adding IPTC in the description field. The moment metadata is saved to this jpeg file and reopened the earlier present work path of a more complex path is gone.
Despite the fact that to my opinion a jpeg is not the most suitable file format for saving a work path this should not happen. If a work path is saved to a jpeg then it should be kept saved after just altering metadata in Bridge.
It still is the same behavior in Bridge CC because that is what I use. Don't know when it started but it still needs to be repaired

Change J2ee parameters on WAS 640-J2EE add in -config tool
I have started the config tool to change java paramters per SAP.
However I notice that config tool shows dispatcher and server and below that an instance (xxx-318782 for example) which has a dispatcher and server also.....
Why is this and which do I modify to change java parameters?
Alos where can I find the setting, it is somewhere under services directory?
Thanks
John RHi,
the dispatcher and server nodes that appear right below the root of the tree in the Config tool contain global properties (services and managers' properties). This means those properties are used globally instead of the default properties. For more info, refer to this page: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/36/e71bbee9ab4677a744d4c4484b0bf4/frameset.htm
Next, the dispatcher and server you find under the instance xxx, are actually the elements that you've installed for your system. Changing a property on any of them applies locally, i.e. to the corresponding node (server or dispatcher).
To set java parameters, you need to click on the dispatcher or server (depending on which element's java props you need to modify). On the right side, under General tab you'll see the Java parameters field. Here is the relevant documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/39/7796e0a7be604ab63c2924045710a8/frameset.htm
Hope that helps! -
On transaction FBL3N report change layout and save layout icons not activ
Hi,
I am working on upgrade project from 4.6C to ECC6.0. On transaction FBL3N report change layout and save layout icons not active; only select layout icon is active.
Please advise how these two icons can be activated.
saeedHi,
The object F_IT_ALV has a field, the activity ACTVT, which can
contain four permitted values: 01, 02, 03 and 70.
Activity 03 corresponds to the minimum authorization, which is the
most restricted one: You can only select layouts which have
been configured already. In particular, all of the other functions
named above are inactive with activity 03.
I guess that your user-id have set activity 03 for this object.
The SAP notes 374656 and 409190 are recommended.
So, if the values 01 and 02 are not included, then
the user can't change and save layouts.
For the line item display in FI the authorization
object FI_IT_ALV has been created as an extra security check in addi-
tion to the ALV authorization object S_ALV_LAYO.
Please check note 374656 where you should be able to find
relevant info about this. Also note 637554 should be helpful.

Hi All,
We are planning to implement the Password Policy for SAP users in our organization...
we want to change next parameters
Login/no_automatic_user_sapstar
Login/fails_to_session_end
Login/password_expiration_time
Login/min_password digit
Login/min_password_letters
Login/min_password_special
Login/min_password_diff
so I have some questions,
first of all this change will be applied in our productive system SAP CRM ABAP 7.0 with MSSQL
what will be the impact when this change will be applied?, I mean the policies is inmediatly or for example it will be reflect until one user ask to be reset or until the expiration time defined will be get,
what will happen with comunication users?, I have seen some documentation when mentiion that just communication users of certain type will be affected, I can't understand it,, someone has experience doing that?
so I'm worried about communication users because we have some importants users that communicate BPM(JAVA SAP) or ESB (JAVA IBM),
thank you..
AlfredAlfredo,
To expand a bit on the answer to your first question, about when it will take effect, the answer is it depends. It's true that the parameters don't take effect for the system until a restart, but as for when, after that, they impact the users depends on several factors. Users will not be required to change their password until the expiration time has passed, but chances are that many of your users, if they've had accounts longer than the expiration time, will already be past that expiration time. In that case, they will be asked to change their password with their next logons following the restart. The exceptions will be people who have recently changed their password already or who have new user accounts.
As for the other parameters mandating password complexity, by default they will be applied the next time the user changes their password (which, for many, will be right away, as just described), but if the current password is not yet expired, it will be allowed to stand even if it doesn't meet the complexity rules until it does expire. You can change this, however, with another parameter: login/password_compliance_current_policy. By default this parameter is inactive, but if you set it to 1, then users with passwords that don't meet the current complexity requirement will be forced to change right away, even if they are not expired.
With regard to your second question, about the impact of the new policy on your Communication users, here is the basic layout of impacts:
User Type
GUI Logon
Password Rules
Dialog
Yes
Yes
System
No
No
Communications
No
Yes*
Service
Yes
No
So yes, Communications users are subject to the password rules, but as Sunny was saying, generally the rules only impact interactive logons, and Communications users don't logon interactively (GUI Logon). Still, if you want to be sure, you can change their type to System, and they still will not be able to logon interactively, and they will not be subject to password expiration. Either way, they also will not be counted during license measurement.
Best regards,
Matt -

Log Message:
* Change layout-related width/height, explicit width/height, measured width/height properties from post-scale to pre-transform. yay!
* Flex3 containers are updated to support the new behavior.
* Repeatedly scaling a component can differ from before, since we no longer accumulate rounding errors.
* The change is gated by a version flag, in compatibility mode these properties don't change.

CRM_DNO_MONITOR - way to customise display apart from 'change layout' ?
Hi friends,
In the transaction CRM_DNO_MONITOR, there is a standard screen offering a few selection parameters.
Based on what you choose, the next screen is displayed with all those relevant messages.
There is a "Change Layout Button" as with many SAP reports. One can choose to include a further fields to get displayed on the report screen.
My questions are:
(1) Is there a way to include more fields than suggested by the "Change Layout" dialog box? For instance, I was keen to know why the following fields were not offered for selection:
a) Support Team
b) Subject (field name - LISTCODE)
(2) Is there a way to easily include Z fields as part of the Support Message (standard Transaction Type SLFN) and use such Z fields in display ?
(3) Is there any other transaction, apart from CRM_DNO_MONITOR that offers even better control on filtering/ sorting messages ?
Any suggestions and workarounds would be gratefuly acknowedged.
Regards,
SriniDear Alagammai,
Thanks for your time.
Being a person who started from 3.1 days, yes DNOTIFWL was my first port of call
However, what I realised was that if you set a notification to 'Completed', it does not automatically set the Message Status to 'Confirmed'. Therefore, the status values as seen by Testers from within STWB_WORK does not reflect the updated position.
[This|https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001197002005E/Addtional_Information.pdf] document - once proposed by Raguraman C in reply to another member [thread |Notification Vs transaction type;also does not exactly answer the utility served by DNOTIFWL.
At the moment, ii is not an option I have since there is no ABAP talent meant to serve SolMan stream. i is inadequate and iii doesn't help either, unfortunately.
Thanks for your time though. If you ever find a better solution, please update in this thread.

CRM 7.0 Change Layout in Pop-Up's
Hi Guru's,
i want to change the layout of a pop-up window.
That is the "normal" way to change layouts:
Open the Object what i want to change (in web ui), click with the mouse on the configuration-button. The technical details displayed, also the component name. Then i go in IMG BP WD Workbench and change the layout.
That works, i've done it much a lot.
But in pop-up's i can't click on a configuration-button. The button does not exist in pop-up's.
Example:
Logon Web UI, open an Opportunity, fill up the needed data and save. Then go on the Button "Follow-Up".
A pop-up window displayed. And this pop-up window, i want to change the layout (not only for me, i know i can do it with the button personally).
I hope somebody can give me a solution.
Thanks a lot and greetings

Hi,
Is it possible to Hide Change Layout Button in ALV output for Report MB52 using authoriztaion.
We have created a layout in which we are hiding some coloumns which the user should not see.
But if the change layout button is active then the user can add those coloumns to output.
Is this possible through authorizations. I want to avoid doing any chnages to the std sap program.

trying to make an ibook and have 800 photos, want format of 8 photos/page, but default is not that- "create" the initial book from iphoto "album" it loads less than 800 pics and then when i change layout i have blanks.
if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.
many thanks for your help.Photos are added to book in chronological order. So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.
