Changing path of recorded streams

i changed the path of the recorded streams in application.xml
in the tag <StorageDir>
after it i can not enter to the administration console
the comment is "connection failed"
what should i do?

Recording streaming audio at different quality levels with SB PC

Hi, I am trying to record streaming audio (lectures) on my computer. I have tried recording with Creative Wave Studio (ver 4.0) and Creative Recorder (ver .04). I am running windows98. This is the problem. I can record with both of these programs IF I select the 'recording format' as 'CD quality, 44,00 hz, 6 bit, stereo, 72kb/s.' However, the resulting file sizes are huge at this quality. When I change the recording format to 'Telephone quality, ,025 hz, 8 bit, mono, kb/s' I cannot record a single thing with either program. When I press record I get the following message: "RECSVR - MMSYSTEM004 the specified device is already in use. Wait until it is free and then try again." If I change back to the high quality, the error goes away. Very frustrating. I make sure that I have the right input source selected. I tried both 'wave' and 'modem' input source, but there was no change. If anyone can help me with a little guidance, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for help.

Can you record using mp3 or wma -format (on 28kbps) with these tools you have? These formats packs wav data to ~/0 deal from original without huge quality loss.
If not you can try if there is some other recording tools. There are also freeware products on many SW sites like

Building SCD Type2 changes. Any record deletion in Source does not expire the Target Record. When I Delete any Record in Source Table, I expect the same record should be 'Expired' with 'End_Date' with Active = 'N'.
BTW: In 'Table Comp', I have Checked the 'Detect Deleted rows(s) ...'. / ' ... largest generated key' is selected by default..
This is not happening..! My Update and Insert works fine..!

Do you have detect deletes set on Table Comparison?
I also add the Map operations to the output of History Preserving and manage each stream of the Insert/Update/deletes separately and control the record start/effective & record end/Expiry dates with more variables based on the stream req, ie updates to end previous record have record end date set to variable for business or run date set to date - 1.
You only need key gen for inserts (including the deleted record final state)
Use merge to bring back together.

Recording beta question - seeking in recorded streams and syncing playback

hi lccs, some initial questions for you as i get started on the beta..
you say audio and video are saved in separate FLVs on the client server. does LCCS ensure that audio/video sync is maintained during playback?
how are the recorded streams delivered during playback? can you seek into these streams? e.g. if i have a recording of a video chat, can i use a timeline to seek forward and back through that video?
and finally - i will want to play back a recorded audio video chat between two users. will LCCS take care of synchronization between these four streams? (two video, two audio) or do i need to build a synchronized buffering strategy to achieve this?

To reiterate Raff's point - when you setup a ConnectSessionContainer with a
PlaybackAuthenticator (essentially, a "playback application"), that
ConnectSession does all the work of synchronizing streams for you. As Raff
says, you can build a timeline and seek within it - ConnectSession's
archiveManager exposes all aspects of the playback to you.
In fact, here's a basic seek bar you could try :

lastly, as Raff also says, you're not restricted to playing back the exact
application you recorded. If you had, say, audio/video chat plus text chat
recorded, and all you wanted for playback was the A/V, remove the text chat
from your playback application (and delete the chat FLV from the recording
zip, to save on bandwidth), and your playback app should just work. You can
also totally re-layout how your app looks for playback as compared to
"live", or allow your users to manipulate the layout or contents of what's
being played back as they watch the recording. We think this will allow for
some really interesting, innovative applications.

Audio dropping from recorded stream during playback

I am using Stream.play() on the server side to set up a hub
to switch between live streams and recorded streams. Basically, I
have a live video stream that we want to switch in a recorded
segment (flv) at the end of which we go back to the live stream.
Both the live stream and the recorded stream are at the same data
rate.
I'm following the code samples from:

The problem I'm having is that the audio starts for the
recorded segment but goes silent after the first 2-3 seconds of
audio. This happens every time the clip is played. This clip plays
fine when linked to directly, without being part of the hub system
using Stream.play(). I have tried this with several recorded
segments with the same result.
Has anyone seen this happen before?

am not on 3.5 yet? I tried adding this to the fms.ini for 3.0.3 and
nothing changed. It may also be worth noting that I am having the
issue even with only a single user connected.
When the client sends a message to the server to play my
"demo" the server calls the following lines of code:

application.mainStream.play("liveEncoderVideo", -1, -1,

This should switch from the currently playing
"liveEncoderVideo" stream to the "shortDemo" and then back.
The myVODConn is getting set up right as I can see the demo
but again the audio just drops out after 2-3 secs. I also tried to
use the AdobeBand sample files and I get the same thing.

whenever u change the condition record it will fall under the validility date, ie.,
example:
Condition record for cond type PR00 is
valid from 01/05/2007 to 31/99/9999 is Rs.1000
but suddenly when u change prices on 01/10/2007 then system will display has below
vaild from 01/05/2007 to 31/09/2007 is Rs.1000
vaild from 01/10/2007 to 31/99/999 is Rs.1500
hence u take all the sale orders & billing document which are created from 01/10/2007, this will slove ur purpose

How can you record stream from a webcam like YouTube does it

We need to create a webcam stream recorder with FMS which should be able to record stream in some predefined quality (128000/bandwidth,95/quality) and will work also in the situation when the user doesn't have enough bandwidth to transfer this stream in realtime. YouTube has a solution which is using something like a buffer and when the user stops recording they continue to send video data to the server until the stream is completely recorded. We are recording the stream from our user's webcam, but when the bandwidth is not consistent or not enough, we are losing video data and ending up with poor quality recordings. What we need is that the record stream is buffered on the user's computer and the video data continues to be sent to our server even after the user has finished recording so that we end up with the complete stream (video data). We need some idea how to do this - which specific features should we used for this solution?

Does it have to be a live solution? Or can you have the user record locally and then upload to your FMS server?

How to change path for Ev4Excel.xla

Dear All,
I'm trying to execute predefined BPF - custom menu (ProcessFunctions.xls). Whenever if click e.g. on Back, forward, open a file following similar message is being prompted:
Macro 'E:\Program Files\BPC\Ev4Excel.xla'!'EvMacroCall "OPENFILE","REPORTS\WIZARD\HotAnalysis\A01 Account Trend.xls","","","","","" can not be executed. Macro may not stated in this workbook or all macros can be deactivated.
Ev4Excel.xla is resided under path E\PC_MS.
How can I change path for macro call?
Or any other idea?

i don't understand why do you have to change the path for Ev4Excel.xla?
Basically this the addin of BPC into excel. I mean it is the BPC excel client.
You are choosing the path when you are performing the installation of SAP BPC.
So Idon't understand why do you want to change the path?
If you want to do this you have to reinstall the BPC client and you have to choose the path wanted.
You error is not related to the path it is more related to rights.
I think you have to provide more details about the steps done and in what condition you observer this error.

Mass change for condition record

I try to change the condition record for material with validity period of one year starting next year Jan 1st. Since that material is already exists in the system with validity period of current date to 12/31/9999, it is not saving my changes. When increase price by 5%, it is not giving any problem but when I display to see the changes "Environment-Changes-Per condition record", it is giving an popup box saying "Change documents for conditions not yet save are not possible"
I try to delete material condition with longer period. It is deleting at that moment but when I come back and see still that material exists with longer period.
how do I deal with this problem to solve?

At any given point in time you can have only one valid condition record with a validity period.
1. Create a condition record with validity from today to 12/31/2007
2. Create a condition record with validity from 01/01/2008 to ....
You issue would be solved.

Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found

I have started a stream from Flash media encoder to flash media server. According to my encoder, it should be located at: "rtmp://localhost/live" and is called livestream.
In the Flash software I try and set the source of FLVPlayback component to "rtmp://localhost/live/livestream", and I get this error: "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound : Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found.". Both the server and encoder is runnind and I am encoding.
Too, when I try and open the html with the stream in a browser, nothing appears.
What should I check?

Thanks for your reply.
Server, encoder and player are all on the same computer.
Admin console confirms the existence of "livestream" of type "Live" and a "NetStream" called "ABAF". No idea what the latter is.
Also, thought I'd mention that I have to start the servers from the Control Panel -> administrative tools -> services. If I try and start the server from the start menu, they dont start.

If you import the framework project from Blazeds/trunk into Eclipse and get an error related to Assets.swf or that says "Unable to export SWC oem" for the time being try right clicking on the framwork project in Eclipse and selecting properties. Then in the properties panel, select Flex Library Build Path and then the Assets tab. On the Assets tab, check the check box next to Assets.swf and click Ok. This usually fixes the reference for me.

Forms inserts rather update on commit_form when changes made in records

I have created a form in forms builder 10g. These are 3 tables.
1. Recovery_Shift (Production Shift Information) -- Parent Table
2. Recovery_Size (Many Size in one Production Shift) -- Child to Table- 1
3. Recovery_Size_Dtl (Details of the Size Recovered) -- Child to Table- 2
The form has been created using 3 datablocks correpsonding to the above tables in two canvases.
In second canvas I have a "Save" Push Button with code "Commit_Form". Whenever I am inserting first time it is ok. After pressing this push button if I make any changes in any record and press the Save button, forms shows unique constraint error. When I disable this constraint in table. The form inserts a new duplicate row in the table.
The problem is ==>if I make any changes in the form after pressing "Save" button (Commit_form) it inserts the whole row rather updating the row.
What could be the cause and solution. Please guide. The module is at implimentation stage. Thanks in advance for guidance.

for inserting a row it asks for commitThat is normal behavior. When you update or create a record in the Recovery_Size_Detail block, you must commit the record before working on another record.
I think it may be the cause of problem that there are already saved (commited)records in the form when i am entering more records in 2nd & 3rd table and commiting them.If you are creating new records after the commit, and these new records are duplicates in the database, then the unique constraint error is expected. If you want to ensure the user is not creating duplicate records before trying to commit, then see this:

You might try creating the form with just two blocks:
First block (master): Recovery_Shift
Second block (detail) Recovery_Size
Get that to work and test it by updating and creating records. After you are pleased that it works, save it and then add the 3rd block as a detail block for the the 2nd block. Then you have this:
Block1. Recovery_Shift (master)
Block2. Recovery_Size (detail for block 1 and master for block 3)
Block3. Recovery_Size_Detail (detail for block 2)

How to record stream from camera like on YouTube?

The only way to transfer photos back to a computer that were synced to your phone from a computer is to use an app like PhotoSync, which can transfer photos from any album on your phone over your wifi. (They cannot be imported using your usb cable, which only imports camera roll photos, nor can they be saved to the camera roll so the could be imported using your usb cable.)

Recording streaming videos with sound

Can I use quicktime for recording streaming videos with sound? If not which Apple software can do it?

You can use Quicktime to record streaming video +with it's audio+ by using a very simple trick. Using the same cable you connect your iPod/iPhone to your car's stereo system, connect your Mac's Audio OUT to its MIKE IN jack. I used FILE / OPEN URL to select the video stream source, then selected FILE / NEW SCREEN RECORDING. In the resulting 'Screen Recording' dialog box, I set the AUDIO slider all the way to the right, and under the arrow to the right, selected "Built-in Input Line In" for the microphone. I then used the appropriate controls to play the stream and record it. The resultant file was very acceptable. Good luck.
