Changing photo display problems

Hi - new here. I've managed to create a short movie in iMovie usinf some still photos (aren't I clever?!) but when I try to do it again, after I drag and drop a photo into the timeline, I cannot click and drag the photo to change its display time...when I hover the mouse over the photo, the icon does not change at all. I know I can change the display time in photo settings but i want to drag it like I did before. i have changed a setting by mistake? How do I get it back?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Discussion.
When the menu command View > Show Audio Volume Levels is checked, iMovie doesn't let us drag the end of the clip to change its length. (The cursor changes the volume level instead of performing direct trimming.)
Select the menu command — to uncheck it. Then direct trimming should start working again.

    Hi Aditya,
    1. R you able to see the photo while accessing PA30 ?
    2. There is a function module to retieve the employee photo in URI.
& you can use that URI in your Iview.
    call function 'HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_PHOTO_URI'
      exporting
        pernr                  = '00001185'

  • Zeen HP Gallery Display Photo Display Problem

Is anyone else having problems with the display of photos on their Zeen from HP Gallery?  When I opened both the pre-loaded pictures and tried to view my own photos, the screen looks like a scene from The Matrix.  No photo comes up; just unintelligible multicolor vertical columns and random "menu" titles replicated across the screen.

Hi Sidney, thanks loads for your reply. If i try your method the most recent image still wont be placed at the beginning eg.
If today's date is 01022012 then tomorrows date will be 02022012 which will still be placed after 01022012
    Eg
    01022012
    02022012
Thanks again but is there any other method?

  • E7 Photo Display Problem

    hi
i have just updated my E7 mobile with ANNA update and now not able to see my old photos in photo folder. Can anybody resolve this issue.

There seems to be a problem of the Photos App with the Camera..I have checked the solution many times on my phones and it works eveytime..Once the camera has been used, the photos app goes blank, the only solution is to restart the phone and then use the change wallpaper option in homescreen and then the photos app starts working again..its a nasty bug and this is the only workaround that i could get till now. Even after multiple restarts i was not able to get photos in my photos app but after using the change wallpaper option, the photos app starts working again..everytime the camera is used, the phone needs to be restarted and the change wallpaper option to be used for the photos app to work.. this is the only workaround now.

  • Photo display problem

All photos uploaded to my iPod Touch are displayed as if they are in Landscape orientation even if they are actually in Portrait orientation. The same photos are correctly orientated when viewed in Preview on my iMac (running OS X 10.4.10).
All photos in question were taken with a Nikon D40.
Anyone else seeing their portrait photos incorrectly displayed?

Yes! And it is driving me nuts. I have tried taking the photos off and re-syncing but that didn't work. They have the correct orientation in iphoto, but just not on the ipod. I think this is happening because when you change the orientation of a photo within iPhoto, it does not alter the actual file itself (within the 'originals' folder in the iPhoto library, anyways...). So, when the ipod syncs, it is getting the original, unchanged photos rather than getting photos with your embedded view preferences. I have tried editing the actual photo files themselves, but I haven't had much luck so far - even though the privileges are set to read & right, when trying to save I am told that the file cannot be saved! Will fiddle with it some more later and report back...
    Did that make any sense?

I just bought a new PC and I have re-installed my Adobe Creative Suite Standard on it.
Software open fine. PROBLEM: The toolbars (menu stuff) appear extra-small, too small for me to read...
I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all  the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!

  • Display problem import photos

    Hello,
I have a display problem when I try to import photos into Lightroom.
    I use the version 5.2.
The problem can be viewed in the following video.
At the begining you can view that there is something weird as under the folder "Panoramas" there is a grey block where there should be the rest of the folders onmy disk.
Then, I try to select a folder on my disk MacHD or SaveSSD and everything is ok.
And when I come back on my disk MacSSD, everything is going wrong (it begins when I click on "Panoramas").
Any idea how to fix this ?

My video was just to illustrate the display problem.
As I said before I had it when I import from my SD card. My common workflow is importing from the SD card to the MacSSD disk, with a renaming. That's why I choose copy and not just Add to the catalog.
By the way, I had another strange thing. In the Folders on the left side of the Library module I got 2 times the same name (folder "2013").
I right-clicked and refesh folder, LR asked me to merge the both folder "2013" and it somehow seems to solve the import problem.
    I don't really get what I did.......

  • After 5.1 update photo sync problems

After I updated my iPhone 4S, iPad1 and iPad2 to IOS 5.1 I'm having problems syncing my photos.  I also just bought a new iPad3 that came with IOS 5.1 installed and it has the same problems using iTunes to sync on my Windows 7 (64) PC.  The problems are:  not all photos sync into each album, many photos show up in the wrong album and several thumbnails don't match the photo displayed when I tap on it.  Their are two common denominators: my PC running the latest iTunes (version 10.6.0.40) and all my devices running IOS 5.1.  I've reported the iPad3 problem to Apple (case number 299629840) and the support tech and I have tried deleting the iPod photo cache, reloading the IOS software, etc. with no luck.  The purpose of this post is to see if others are having the same problems with other devices on 5.1.

I am having a similar issue.
    - iOS 5.1 on a 4S.
    - Itunes 10.6.1
    - Iphoto 9.2.3
With the 4S connected via wifi I select "Sync photos with" "selected albums..." I check one album only with four photos in it. Hit sync and the I watch the photos transfer in the top bar of itunes as it syncs. The orange status bar at the bottom goes up to show the photo data is on the 4S. I open the photo app on the 4S and the photos do not show up at all. No new album, no photos. The data appears to be there, but the 4S is not showing them.
I've tried deleted the ipod photo cache a few times and restoring. No change.

  • How to change external display resolution WITHOUT clicking "CONFIRM"?

I have a somewhat unusual situation. My MacBook laptop is actually now a ModBook (a pen-tablet computer), and as such I no longer have a trackpad attached to it. All of my inputs are via the stylus, tapping directly on the built-in display.
This works perfectly fine, except when I need to give presentations on an LCD projector (which is quite often lately). I like to use the projector as an external monitor, so that I can run the Keynote presentation on it while using my laptop screen as the presenter's display, with the upcoming slide, etc. If the projector doesn't give me an ideal native display option (sometimes, the aspect ratio for the  3 or 4 resolutions available in the Displays drop-down in the menubar turn out to be stretched or squeezed), then I, naturally, have to open the Display System Preferences and try out different resolutions.
The problem is, since my stylus only interacts by clicking directly on the built-in-display, I have no way of moving the cursor over to the external display when the dialog box with the "Click here to confirm change/You have 15 seconds..." message appears. So I can never click it ... so I can never confirm the new settings.
The workarounds I've used so far are:
    - Mirror displays (not ideal, as I need the presenter preview of the next slide)
    - borrow a mouse from someone (usually from a Windows desktop, frankly) and plug that in to briefly mouse over and click the confirm button
I'd love to find a software workaround that allows me to NOT mirror displays and also doesn't require me to carry around a mouse all the time (my laptop bag is already overstuffed...).
    Thanks.

  • My original post, locked by this forum. Display problem related

    Hi G5 Gurus,
The display problem first, we all know when screen savers display, a click on the mouse will bring you back to the active desktop, this was how it worked., but now, sometimes a click cause the G5 to sleep!
As for the sleep, I dare not to put it to sleep these days, because I am afriad it may cause a fire by over heating. Sometmes, actually four times in the past few months, my G5 could wake up by itself, followed by a extrem high speed running of the cooling fan, it sounded like a hair dryer running in the same room. Sometimes the sreen could light up, just like real wake up, sometimes, it was black. No clicks the mouse or keyboeard could bring it back to normal, I had to press and hold the power button to turn it off.
This crazy problem happened for the first time last summer, a dead hard disk was the cost. Apple replaced it, but failed to detect the cooling or power or display problem. I was given one month extended free service, but right after its end, the problem was back and happened even more often.
Please let me know if any of you had the same problem and please advise what to do.
    100s Gs of thanks.

I have the EXACT same problem. In fact, I could not have described it better myself. What gives? I brought it in to the "genius" bar and they repolaced the power supply free of charge but the problem is still there. I noticed they ordered a new logic board but did not end up replacing it after all. Did you have yours replaced and did it work? Is this a known issue?

    Hi La teller,
Thank you for your reply. The 'genius' here in London only replace the dead hard disk, which I belive was a victim of this problem. I was told they couldn't find anything wrong with the power supply or the cooling system.
Now at lest I know I am not the only bad luck guy. Let's wait and see if others are having the same problem. I am not sure if this is a known issue to Apple, even if it is, it may take years before they can offer a recall or free repaire. I noticed that some G5s have already been suffering from power problems and a free repaire was offered.
Thank you again and hope Apple can take our concerns into their consideration soon.

    Hello,
I'm also having this problem (fan running, won't come out of sleep), just spoke with an apple care rep. He confirmed my suspition that it was software, not hardware as I have just had the logic board and power supply replaced.
    His suggestions were to:
    1. Run disk repair from the startup CD
try running OS X from a firewire drive and see if the same behavior happens or
    perform and archive and install.
When the fan starts to run like that it means the OS is not communicating with the hardware properly. The OS could be somewhat corrupt if you were having hardware issues beforehand, hence the need for a reinstall. I will be performing an archive and install after the disk repair, I'll let you know if it fixes the problem!

    Hi Stopha6,
Thank you for your message. I never imagined it could be a software issue, cos it looked so hardware.
Please keep me updated with your progress.
By the way, as I said in my old posts, a hard disk went dead when this happened for the very first time, how do you read this?

    Hi Stopha6,
After reading your reply again, I realized that the system had already been reinstalled. As I said when it happened for the first time, the hard disk died with it, which was replaced, of course with a new OS X, but the same problem is still happening. May this suggest that it is not just a software problem? Thank you. Songyan

The Fans going at full is only because you have an application that is using a lot of cpu power and therefore causing the imac to heat up so it turns the fans on. The screen-saver and sleep problem you describe sounds like something that may just happen on accident. But this sounds mostly like a software problem. Try making sure to always quit all non-apple products and see if anything changes.

Thank you, Ag-Nate. I will try as you adivised but I con't think the fans were activeted my intensive CPU using. In most of the cases, the problems happened when the Mac was sleeping, when the minimum CPU were being used.

"The Fans going at full is only because you have an application that is using a lot of cpu power and therefore causing the imac to heat up so it turns the fans on."
That's only partly right. A hard-working process will make the fans run at high speed, of course.
But, the OS is in touch with the firmware of the iMac, telling it how to run the fans, based upon information the OS X kernel is getting about the state of the hardware.
If the firmware loses touch with the OS for some reason, and is not getting instructions on how to run the fan, it will default to running them at full blast, to be on the safe side (and this "full blast" fan mode is way louder than anything you'll generally experience during normal usage, I know from experience).
So it may not be so simple as a hard-working cpu process kicking the fans on.

Hi I have a 20" G5 imac it's about 18 months old and I am having the same problem, It freezes and the fan runs really loud. It's nothing to do with software as my I.T. guy has done a complete re-install. All of our admin people have imacs of differring ages and the flat panels are all OK but every one of the G5s has had a booting problem. Some fell into the recall for replacement logic boards but the one I have at home is the newest and doesn't. I'm waiting for my apple reseller to get back to me, but it looks like it's the logic board and as none of the serial numbers fall into the recall, I'm expecting a big bill. I'm really disappointed as I've been a professional apple user for over 15 years and have grown to expect a certain amount of honesty and integrity from them. Looking at all of the discussion boards and the amount of people complaining of the same problem the logic boards are defective and apple should be replacing these free of charge.

    Kensall,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
As in the other thread I wrote:

First off, you'll get a wider audience who may be able to solve your problem. Secondly, responses to you won't confuse the original poster with solutions that don't apply to them. And thirdly, you'll know for certain whether or not a response applies to you.
    iMac C2D 2.17/20 inch/iMac G5 1.8 1st gen/iMac G4 800 Mac OS 9 Mac OS X (10.4.8) EyeTV 200, Canon PS A530 , Epson P-R220, iSight, Airport Extreme, 5th Gen iPod

I am having a very similar problem. My G5 imac has already had the logic board replaced from the leaking capacitor problem. 8 mos. later the power supply was replaced under the second recall program when it failed to start up.
It had been working now for almost a year, when about 3 mos. ago I started to experience the sudden dimming effect - if the display was untouched the screen would dim about 30% similar to a laptop in energy save mode. I checked and none of these types of options were set in the pref panes. At the same time I would have the iMac go to sleep after a while from non-use, and then when I tried to wake it it would stir for a few seconds and then go right back to sleep. It took 2-3 attempts to wake it up.
Then last week, as I tried to wake it, it just shut down instead completely. I had to hold the power button down to recycle it to get it to come back to life (3 times).
Today was it - I found what I thought was a sleeping iMac, but it will not power up at all. I opened the back cover and the power supply is working, but I cannot get the board to energize, I reset the PMU, but the #2 LED won't even blink. It is completely dead.
Basically every time I used this computer I held my breath that it would not work. After 2 recalls I still only get 9 mos. out of it? Apple is really starting to show it is like the "big" computer makers, the quality is going right down the tubes.

  • I am unable to play a downloaded HD movie from iTunes. SD movies play OK. An error popped up saying something about the display not suitable for HD movies but now all I get is a blank window. I have tried changing the display resolution to no avail.

I have sownloaded an HD movie from iTunes store and when I attempted to play it on my Windows 7 PC a error message popped up saying something about the display not being compatible for HD movies. I have tried changing the display resolution several times but it didn't help. Now it just comes up with a blank screen when I attempt to play it. SD movies work fine. I have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Apparently the display is required to be HDCP compatible to view HD movies in iTunes. My display isn't so this is my problem. I contacted Apple support and they have agreed to credit me for the HD movie and I have now downloaded the SD version.
