Changing properties for adding pages

Hi,
I have a problem, when i create a Workset and I'm not able to change its properties.
For example I need to link it with some pages.
Any clues?

Hi,
you must unlock objects before adding pages.
Proceed as follows. Logon on the EP as Admin and go under <b>System Administration -> Monitoring -> (in the Detailed Navigation) Portal > Object Locking</b>
You would see the list of the lock objects and you can unlock them.

How to change properties for some controls in runtime ?

hi,
I would like to change some of the properties for some controls in front panel in runtime. Number of control properties I want to change is depending of a log file user opens in final application.
I attach an example where I'm trying to change the visibility of numeric controls. Problem I have I don't know which reference to connect to property node in case the control in for loop is not a numeric control. The example relies to label.text property but I could use the more generic classname property as well.

Unable to retreive custom properties for WPC pages in TREX search result

Hi All,
We have created couple of custom properties "custom_news_heading" and "custom_news_abstract" which are indexable and made it available for all folders and documents.
In web pages folder in one of the WPC web site we have created few pages. In details screen for those pages we have updated those custom propeties with some text.
We have created an Index out of that web pages folder and able to see indexed count as same as the pages inside the web pages folder.
For that index the "Display Index Details" screen in TREX monitor is not showing up the custom properties - means TREX is not considering those custom properties even if have flagged it as Indexable.
Search result is returning the properties like "display name", contentlength etc. But we are not able to reterive the custom properties by customizing the Collection Renderer's Diaplayed properties.
Any advice please?

Changing MasterPage for existing pages

Hi,
I like to change to MasterPage for existing pages in an document, I found the IMasterSpreadUtils and OverrideMasterPageItem, but it didn't work here. Unfortunately I found no example in the SDK, does somebody have an example for me?
Or is there another (and better) way to change the MasterPage?

Change Header for each page

Hi,
i've create an application without login (i choose that when i created the app.). But the template/theme? is shown the apex_public_user and a logout-link in the header or footer (depends from the theme). I'd like to make this invisible and instead add an logo-gif and a text in the header.
How can i realize that?

i think i have an general problem with understanding apex:
I can edit all the pages with the userinterface from apex (application builder), but for example i don't know the source code when apex is calling an process after header, fetch rows etc. That's why i don't know how to modify to get some specialized things.
In my case: I'll edit header for one page (actually i'll for each but i don't know how to do this), click on edit page, select footer or header and the fields are empty. Where can i find the entry &APEX_USER?
All the processes which runs in the background where can i find these?

ITunes crashes when changing properties for Printer in Windows XP

I know this has similarly been posted already, but since the post I read had been ARCHIVED, I could not respond to it. (In my experience) Its not the fact that the properties button was pressed on the Print window of iTunes, but that an option in the properties dialog was pressed. Several options ARE available. I have a Dell Photo Printer 720 installed. The software included has several options for printing. The main page has 3 tabs: Quality/Copies, Paper Setup, Print Layout. All of the options work on all of the tabs. The problem comes in when you use the drop down menus from the top of the properties window. (of wich there is a save properties dialog) The drop down windows are basically Wizards to better help you complete your task, by asking you what you want to do. If you can refrain from using thoes drop downs, whatever changes you make to the rest of that window will be allowed. This is definutly something for the design team to look into, even if (for me that is) I can still alter printer properties, from what i understand most people can't access the properties at ALL! Side note, I also have an older HP DeskJet 722c installed on another computer with no problems accesing the properties window. Im sure it has something to do with the fancy drop down windows in the Dell version, as they STAY open until you click the close button.

How do you allow access to Page Properties for a page via Permissions.

I've been trying to figure out how to setup permissions for a user or group to allow them to have access to the Page Properties dialog and view it's contents.
So far the user/group in question has read/modify/create/delete access to the entire /content/<site_name>. These people can right click on a page in Websites and select the Page Properties option but some of the page properties, custom ones, are empty, or showing but their respective content (housed under /content/<site_name>/<page_name> is missing/empty.

The location of the folder is important. If it is inside a subfolder of your Home folder, then nobody else will be able to see it no matter what sharing options you set.
Put it in the /Users/Shared folder.
As leroydouglas pointed to, go to the Sharing preferences and add that folder.
You'll also need to give them a login to that Mac. You can create a "Sharing Only" user which is a login for file sharing users.
In Users & Groups, Add a new User account and set it to Sharing Only.
Give it a username and password for them all to use (which can be saved in their keychains).
Go back to Sharing and Add that new Sharing Only user. Give them Read Only access. If they all have normal logins on that Mac, you can just add those user names and they will log in just as if they were sitting at the Mac.
Marking of a folder as Shared will only share it with users that can log into that Mac and only if they have permission to see through all the intervening folders.
EDIT: You could also set up Guest access and allow guests to access file sharing. You could then share the folder to everyone: read only.

You used to be able to create a Sharing Only user from that preference pane, but it appears they've modified that to allow you to create a Sharing only user from your Contacts list.

Change settings for Web Page

I am trying to change the color of my internet page at the top and along sides and bottom-I just got it back from the HP service center and they put a new motherboard in it and now I am trying to change the ugly grayish blue colors to something more attractive and it won't let me.It is windows 7 home premium edition. Can someone tell me why this is happening and help me please.

CHANGE PROPERTIES FOR FRAMES

It dependes what do you want to do.
If you have some queries and some frames stand on these queries and
you want to see all in the separate pages you must to set property 'page_break_after' to on.
But if you don't have any information in one query you get empty page within report and it's not good!!!
If you want to avoid that do so:
1.Don't set 'page_break_after' to on.
2.Make frame around repeating frame.
3.Make small frame (called sizer with size of text field) into big one but not in repeating frame and from :cf_formula give to it 40..50 chr(10) (break)
4.Set format_trigger for big frame : if query dosn't bring any rows return (false)
Try this way.

As far as I know, there is no SRW Built-in function/procedure to set the Page Break After property. You can only do this from the property palette.

Permissions for adding pages

We are trying to use Approvals in our Portal installation and have users who have Manage Items with Approval who should be able to add content, but not publish it without someone elses approval.
However, these same people need to be able to add a page to the Page Group as well. But there is no corresponding access to give. The only available are Manage ALL, Manage Classifications, Manage Templates, Manage Styles, and View.
Could someone please help me figure out a method of allowing people to add pages to a group without having Manage All.

Hi John -
Check into using the wwsbr_api.add_folder function to create the page programatically and then once the page exists, the user can then manage content on the page.

SETTING PROPERTIES FOR A MAPPING VIA OMBPLUS ISN'T WORKING

Hi, i have a problem with OMBPLUS:
I have a script which creates a mapping and then is supposed to change properties for the mapping and seems to do so via OMBRETRIEVE. But when looking in OWB the properties aren't changed.
If I change any of the properties inside OWB and then run the script again, then the properties are changed. Does anyone know why the behavior is like this?

Thanks for your idea Roman, but it doesn't solve my problem.
The problem is regardless of which property (Runtime parameters in OWB) I try to change. Before ANY property is changed via OWB (GUI) the changes via OMB doesn't come to effect (even if RETREIVE after OMBCOMMIT says so).

Page Properties Disabled on pages sidekick

I'm trying to set some pages images, this way I may create a carousel. Ok, piece of cake, but when I try to edit my page properties on sidekick, the "Page properties..." option is disabled.
The include for global.jsp is in the component jsp file, and I inserted the resourceSuperType property as well (mapping the page parent to foundation/components/page).
What else should I do?

A template is just a special kind of component. The page properties for a page are defined by the dialog associated to the page's component. Check out for example /libs/foundation/components/page/dialog for example. If you have your template's super resource type set correctly it should inherit the dialog node, but if you get the super resource type wrong and don't provide your own dialog the page properties will be disabled.

In iPhoto '11 I cannot change the book settings. For example, adding page numbers. There is no "option" button as is suggested by the help item.

The "options" button should appear at the bottom of the iPhoto window, when you view your book, then the Book Settings Button should be available and you can activate page numbers.
But remember, that the settings available will depend on the Book Theme you selected. The above shows the settings for one of the "Travel" themes. In a Picture Book Theme, e.g. you cannot add page numbers.
What theme and book size are you using?
