Hi,
Does anyone have an idea how to change a property in multiple resources in one atomic transaction.
There are some interesting comments regarding the use of "mass calls" in various SAP documents but not really anything specific.
The changing of one property in multiple resources is not the problem. This is easy. The challenge is the operation in one transaction. There is a ITransactionManager in the KM Javadoc but this looks like more of an internal class.

Change duration of multiple clips "as one" overall clip?

Here's my situation:
I have a song at 127 BPM. I have a music video (muted sound) at 125 BPM.
I've spent a long time slicing up clips from the video into different channels and muliple clips to form one timeline (but with many clips and channels lined up).
I now want to change the overall duration of the video clip to match the BPM of the song (which I should have done in the first place), but the video is, as previously stated, sliced up in mulitple clips in multiple channels. How can I change the duration of all clips at one time, where the end and start of the clips still line up to eachother?
This would've been incredibly easy if there were a un-nesting feature. Where I can nest multiple clips, change the duration, and un-nest the clips to slices clips with a changed overall duration. (Which is not possible. Yes, I can drag the clips out of the nested clip, but the clips will still have the original duration).
TL;DR: How can I change duration of multiple clips "as one" overall clip?

Never mind. I've found a alternate solution. I used a time stretch calculator at http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php and time stretched all the clips to match the BPM of the song. Now I only need to snap all the clips, which can be done one by one, but I found this trick to snap all the clips at once: http://vimeo.com/27428526.

Multiple Resources for one role CATS scenario

We are on cPro 4.5 sp 006
the scenario is
One Role (say Consultant): Multiple Resources (say Niranjan, Amit) at a time (using Edit in parallel)
We have Time confirmation against Role
We have activated Confirmations against Project header as well
now when i try to enter time in CAT2 for Niranjan (who is staffed first) i get all attributes like Project, Project subobject, WBS element etc.
for Amit however I get project and WBS header and I get Subobject as Object does not have a de
It allows Amit to save data but when i try to transfer data to cProjects using Report the program throws error.
Thus for single resource staffing it works not for multiple staffed resources
Any inputs on this.

Multiple Connections in one transaction?

we use the OC4J 9.0.3 with the fellowing DataSource configuration:

In our project we use CMP/BMP-Entitybeans and CMR. During a complex update we got a SQL-Exception with the message, that a foreign key constrain has been violated (primary key does not exist, even it has been inserted in the same transaction). Because we know, that the same code runs on JBoss 3.0, we have assumed that OC4J use more than one connection and so we have enabled the connection debug.
The result is, that OC4J created in one transaction more that 6 connections. All beans using the same datasource.
Is there is a way to configure this beavior? Or someone have a idea, why OC4J use more than one connection in one tranaction?

Multiple resources on one task

Hi all
I'm a little rusty. I'm working in 2010.
I have been given the durations (in days) that tasks will take. I have multiple resources, all of whom will be working on the same tasks, all assigned units will differ, example, resource A will spend 60%, B will spend 20% and C will spend 20%.
Apparently each resource with have a different number of effective hours per day.
How should I handle this in the schedule?

Hi J Day,
1- You can set the task type based on your business context. You can for example set your task to fixed unit. Doing this, if the work increases, the duration will increase accordingly and the %unit will be kept. Thus you'll see a duration variance.
2- Be aware that setting the max unit of a resource in the resource sheet is NOT taken into account while assigning the resource on a task. It is only used to flag weither or not a resource is overallocated. For example, if you set the resource A has
a max unit of 50% (4hrs/day) and then you assign it at 100% on a task, it will be assign at 8hrs thus shown as overallocated. Project will not make the calculation that the 100% you set in the assignment is 100% of 50%, meaning 4hrs. You have to do this calculation
by yourself while creating assignments. Note also that the max unit is used when you assign a resource without entering a %unit; Project will take by default the max unit. Hope this is clear.

Change ITS parameter setings dynamically for one transaction iview

Hi gurus,
I have a configured ITS parameters and set ~webgui_simple_toolbar = 32
But now in one transaction, only on the last R3 screen (in this transaction) we need standard 'Back' button, (custom back button cannot be configured as this view is a pdf, t-code developed in ABAP )
I can configure 'Back' button by setting ~webgui_simple_toolbar = 40, but then it comes in all the transaction iviews and on all the screens.
Is it possible to set the value of ~webgui_simple_toolbar dynamically, in my t-code in ABAP, so that only for this transaction standard toolbar is visible.

Where exactly have you set the parameter
~webgui_simple_toolbar = 32
i.e in what Service? I believe from your description it is set in the WEBGUI service - which then all your transaction iViews are using to execute? Is this correct
One workaround would be to create an IAC for this one transaction that you are calling. Which would then have the settings
~transaciton <my_transaction>
~webgui_simple_toolbar = 40
~webgui 1
~singletransaction 1
Then setup the iView to be called as an IAC iView?

Export to MS Project and multiple resources to one role

Ok, after this rather cryptic title i will explain my problem:
We are currently in a project where we have the following requirement:
A download of cProjects needs to be imported into MS Project 2007.
When a project role is staffed with multiple resources in cProjects it is imported into MS Project as a single role with only the first resource attached to it. All the other resources are nowhere to be found.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

You can try to implement your requirement in BAdI DPR_MSP_CUST_FIELDS method CUST_CONVERT_DPR2MSPINT. Here you have to convert each and every Resource assigned to a Role as individual resource in MS Project. You have to use method CUST_CONVERT_MSPINT2DPR to convert it back in Project's format.
e.g. 1) Downloading Project to MSP --> Role 1 has Resource 1 and Resource 2 then in first method you need to Create entry for Resource 1 and Resource 2 and keep track of to which role these are staffed. But this will create individual entries for each resource and will not add the resources name to Project role. Other possible implementation would be that you can maintain the Employee number of each Resource in some Text field which is not used in Field Mapping and accordingly decode these Emplyee numbers while uploading the Project from Ms project.
2) Uploading Project from MSP --> Use second method CUST_CONVERT_MSPINT2DPR to decode the above implementation to fill the Project structure for Role and Resources.
You may check it if it is possible to implement it in that way.
As a standard, as metioned earlier, it is not possible.

For implementinq and using 2-phase commit using TUXEDO, u need to setup the following:
1. Create separate Tuxedo Server groups each with an OPENINFO pointing to different databases.
2. Distribute ur Tuxedo servers among these Tuxedo Groups to match the correct database these servers want.
The thumd rule is that all Tuxedo servers belonging to a Tuxedo Server Group can access only one Resource
Manager using the XA interface. Thats why, the OPENINFO connect information are specified at GROUP level
and servers belong some Tuxedo server group.
And now, you r all set for some real action.
Write a client,
Start a Global Transaction (tpbegin)
Now call services from different tuxedo groups
Commit or Rollback (tpcommit or tpabort)
TMSes will take care that ur commits and rollbacks are consistent across different databases.

Important notes:
- This error occurs only if you insert multiple children, if you insert just one child in the same transaction everything works fine.
- We have tested this application directly via "Run" BC application module and there everything works fine just like it hast to be.
- Because we have a “Composed” association we don’t need to override the postChanges() method in order to controls the order for saving the entities (regarding the documentation).

Change properties to multiple clips?

Hi, I was wondering if I could change the reel name of clips in an entire bin? I thought there was a shortcut?

You can select multiple clips and then Control-click (right-click) in the Reel column. That brings up a shortcut menu of all existing reel names from which you can select the right one, with that change cascading across all selected clips. You may (or may not) get a dialog warning you that you're changing the source file.
Of course, your Browser will need to be in List View to accomplish this. Also, if your reel name doesn't exist in your project already, you'll need to enter it manually - click into the Reel column - for a single clip, then try this whole process.

instructions read as follows:
Click html, button, input, select, textarea in the Selectors list.
Does this imply that the properties of these selectors can be modified simultaneously? The Properties Pane of CSS Designer shows no content once I select multiple selectors in the Selectors list.
Also, the button, input and select selectors do not display in the Selectors list.

Change center of multiple clips in one operation

Say I have 10 JPG files each as 10 second clips. I drag them to the timeline, I select all of them. I now want to move all of them into the top left quadrant of my canvas. I can't see how to do it given that motion seems to be set on a clip by clip basis. Is there some way of creating a filter that I can drag onto the selection to affect all clips? Again I can't seem to see one in the filters list. Is it a question of joining all of the clips into a single clip and thus applying a single motion in the viewer?

Adjust one image the way you want it. Copy, select the images, and use the paste attributes function.

Want to change time of multiple slides in one go & synch to music

Just got my first mac, trying to create a DVDslideshowwith about 150pics and using two songs. Can't seem to work out how I can adjust length of slides to maybe 2secs each - without doingeach one imdividually and/or sych music to the amount of pics I have so it all runs and ends smoothly. Used to do this on proshow gold but its not mac compatible !!!

Advise on using DBMS_XA with multiple branches under one global transaction

Dear all
I need some advise on using DBMS_XA from PL/SQL with tightly coupled multiple branches under one global transaction. Basically, I've successfully written some PL/SQL code that in 3 different sessions attaches to 3 different branches of one global transaction and before ending each branch they can see each others uncommitted data. So far so good.
However, I'm not sure I completely understand how each branch must call xa_end, xa_prepare and xa_commit correctly using two phase commit and my calls result in errors like:
ORA-24767: transaction branch prepare returns read-only (XA error code 3 = Transaction was read-only and has been committed)
ORA-24756: transaction does not exist (XA error code -4 = XID is not valid)
ORA-02051: another session or branch in same transaction failed or finalized
This is the structure of my programs (3 SQL*Plus sessions):
main: Uses xid 123|0 (branch 0 of global transaction 123). This should be the coordinator that commits using two phase commit across the 3 branches

OK, I've figured it out. This is poorly documented as it's not well explained how to handle the various return codes. Turns out that all but the last xa_prepare calls return dbms_xa.xa_rdonly (tightly coupled branches are combined -- "read only" optimization), the last one returns dbms_xa.xa_ok and this is when you should call xa_commit.
Now my next problem is that DBMS_XA doesn't work from within jobs (DBMS_JOB and DBMS_SCHEDULER), which makes it very difficult to use DBMS_XA. My purpose of using DBMS_XA is to coordinate work across multiple sessions in one transaction but if I can't easily create the multiple sessions, I'm stuck.
When called from a job, xa_start throws:
ORA-24789: start not allowed in recursive call
on Oracle 11.2. In Oracle 11.1 it works, but xa_end fails with
ORA-25352: no current transaction
so I guess in fact the xa_start call didn't really work either, even though it returned tm_ok.
I'm now trying to find a workaround on how to use DBMS_XA from within jobs, please comment if you have any suggestions. Or if you have any suggestions on other means of establishing the concurrent sessions (I wouldn't like to resort to external programs that need username/password to connect as password management would be a security issue).
