Changing Scheduling Policy in Command Line

Hi everyone,
I'm writing up a custom scheduler but am having trouble changing the scheduler for specific processes. I found the chrt command, but haven't figured out a way to change the scheduling policy to one not listed.
Hopefully this is the correct forum, and thanks in advance for any advice or help.

So that when user A logins it automatically redirected to /u/A.Change it in /etc/passwd.

  • Is there a way to set the binding policy from command line?

I'm unable to save the Binding Policy setting "Allow users to edit their own contact information" using the server admin gui. I click it and press save, but the checkbox clears when the spinner at the bottom stops.
I'd love to know where this setting resides or if it can be set via the command line.

I've finally found a solution to this!
Open the "all records" tab in workgroup manger, and find the OLCBDBConfig from the dropdown list.
Go to "{1}bdb" and expand "dsAttrTypeNative:olcAccess(23)", then edit the "{0}to" entry.
On my OD it was set like this:
    {0}to dn.onelevel="cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=com" attrs=apple-mcxflags,apple-mcxsettings by set="user/uid & [cn=admin,cn=groups,dc=mydomain,dc=com]/memberUid" write by sockurl="ldapi://%2Fvar%2Frun%2Fldapi" write by dn.exact="cn=myserver.mydomain.com$,cn=computers,dc=mydomain,dc=com" write by * read
While it should read like this:
    {0}to dn.one="cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=com" attrs=@apple-user-info by set="user/uid & [cn=admin,cn=groups,dc=mydomain,dc=com]/memberUid" write by sockurl="ldapi://%2Fvar%2Frun%2Fldapi" write by dn.exact="cn=myserver.mydomain.com$,cn=computers,dc=mydomain,dc=com" write by self write by * read
Note that I have an LDAP search policy of mydomain.com and a FQDN of myserver.mydomain.com.
I had to change bit by bit, starting with "dn.onelevel" to "dn.one", then "attrs" and finally the "write" part at the end.

Did you have any luck finding out how to do this ?   We would like to trigger reports from the command line on demand. (or via an API is fine too)

  • How do I change screen resolution in command line?

Hi, I was controlling a remote server by Apple Remote Desktop and have lost control of it after changing the resolution. Is there a way to change the resolution in the command line, without restarting?
If I can screen resolution in the command line I can send the unix command to the remote server and hopefully fix my problem.

Hi, I'm not aware of a way to do it without a little work. For example, I found some code at Mac OS X Hints that will change the screen resolution from a command line, but you'd have to compile it. It compiled for me on 10.4.11, and the poster there said it compiles on 10.5 for him.
If you have the Xcode tools installed on your Mac, just copy that code into a plain text file, then save it as "main.c". Then, in Terminal, change directory to the same directory as that file and compile it:
    <pre class="command">gcc -o newscreen main.c -framework ApplicationServices</pre>
Then copy it to your server and try running it there:
    <pre class="command">./newscreen -h nnnn -v nnnn</pre>
where "nnnn" is the desired resolution...
I hope that works, anyway, since I'm still using Tiger...

  • Changing OD Password via Command Line

How can i change the OD password via the command line? passwd doesn't do it because the password is still marked as "User must change password on next login"
I have a Mac OS X server (10.4.6) set up for Mobile users for mac os x clients (10.4.2-6) and I'm also setting up for a PDC for out windows computers. Right now the only hold up is if the password is expired in OD, windows is unable to change the password. So I'm going to custom edit my smb.conf with the proper settings since Mac OS X doesn't seam to do it.

    anyone?
basicly i need to know if there is a command line program to changet users OD passwords and mark the password has been changed in OD.
is this posable? and whats the command?

  • Schedule workbooks thru command line

    hi,
how do we schedule workbooks thru unix command line?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Well you can use windows task manager or another third party scheduler to run Discoverer exports on a windows workstation. You can search this site for information on how to do this.
You can then use a unix command to send the details of the workbook to the workstation. One way to do this would be for the script running on the windows workstation to obtain the list of workbooks, worksheets, parameters etc that need to be scheduled from a custom database table. A unix command could then be used to add rows to the table which the workstation would then read and run the exports.
How you do this depends on what output you want to generate and how you want to deliver that output to the users. You can find an article on my web site (www.cabotconsulting.co.uk) that describes how to schedule Discoverer reports using the Applications concurrent manager. This method also uses a custom table to hold the reports to be scheduled.

  • Programmatically Changing Build Specifications from command line

I use a batch file that calls a VI to build several LV projects.  I found the article http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5051 to get started and build projects; however, I was wondering if anyone has been able to change build specifications without opening the Application Builder dialog?  -> I would like to build an app. with a version number using the command syntax:  labview.exe <mybuild.vi> -- "project1.lvproj" "version number"
    Any thoughts regarding this problem?
    Thanks,
    Adam

I have done some research and there doesn't seem to be a way to change the version number when building a project with this method.  If I find out otherwise I will post to let you know but I don't think it is possible.  I would look for another way to accomplish what you want by incorporating the version into the file name or something like that.

    hello

but i cant find color settings there
i would like your help with that
    thanks alot !

We may have to wait for an update.  Aside from changing the country, I'm not sucre this can be done.  There is no Health App in the System preferences and no  way to modify from within the app.  Weird.
If you go to Language & Region under general settings and choose any other country, you will get Metric.  I have the opposite problem.  I live in a Metric country and want my health app to be in lbs and inches which is what I am used to.

  • Scheduled Reports results by Command Line

I have several reports that I schedule to run nightly in Discoverer 10G Desktop. How can I open the scheduled results using Command Line? Once open, I want to export the results as Excel. I can do a unscheduled report using the code below:
    \oracle\BIToolsHome_1\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect username/password@report /apps_user /apps_responsibility "responsiblity name" /opendb "report name" /sheet "Exception Report" /parameter "parameter name" 'parameter value' /export XLS C:\TEMP\testexport1.xls
Is it possible to retrieve the scheduled results? How much of this could be done at command line and how much would have to be done in a third party scheduler?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
How can I open the scheduled results using Command Line? Is it possible to retrieve the scheduled results? No, I don't think it is possible to retrieve scheduled results from the command line.
How much of this could be done at command line and how much would have to be done in a third party scheduler? It would be better to do it all using a third party scheduler such as the windows task manager. You could schedule the export to run overnight using the task manager and a windows command file. You can search this forum or the LearnDiscoverer blog for more details on third party scheduling.

  • Unable to set 'tap to click' by command line

Use case: I'm trying to write a script to set up new macbooks with a set of dev tools and usability configuration options.
Most configurations are simple enough to change by altering the global application setting e.g. setting the scroll direction with the command:
defaults write NSGlobalDomain com.apple.swipescrolldirection -bool false
Apparently the following commands were able to enable the tap to click trackpad behavior in previous OSX versions:
defaults -currentHost write NSGlobalDomain com.apple.mouse.tapBehavior -int 1
defaults write NSGlobalDomain com.apple.mouse.tapBehavior -int 1
However, as of Maverick (and possibly Mountain Lion) these do not work.
I checked the defaults values and changing the scroll setting via the GUI does indeed change the actual variable (com.apple.swipescrolldirection) and changing the variable by command line successfully changes the setting. However, the tap to click variable does not exist in the defaults NSGlobalDomain read out and setting the tap to click via GUI has no effect on any variables in this list. When I create and turn on the com.apple.mouse.tapBehavior variable, oddly the GUI's checkbox is checked for tap to click but the feature remains turned off.
My best guess is that trackpad options have been moved out of NSGlobalDomain and there is still some vestigial code reading for the no longer functional variable that is setting the gui checkbox even though its not enabling the feature.
My question: how can I set tap to click (and other trackpad options) by the command line?
    Thanks!

If you do "java -jar ..." on the command line then any "-cp ..." options are ignored. That's because "java -jar ..." assumes you will have set up the classpath in the jar's manifest file like you're supposed to.

  • Help Installing Command Line

Does anyone have some helfpful hints in regards to installing the
    Enterprise Scheduler CommandLine.msi for Windows.for Tes 6.1.0
I believe it is to be installed on the Master, backup Master -- does it also need to be installed on the Fault Monitor?
    Thank you
    Donna

I don't have it installed in FM, only on master and BM.  Installation is fairly straigforward except the part when you actually have to use it - like knowing what user can run it and the parameters to use ( you can reference the TES 6.1 PDF docs for that)
The only tip I have if you want to schedule running  the command line from  within Tidal itself  is to also presave the password (I think its called persistance) so that you are not referencing connection parameters/credentails in every job parm.  There is also instructions on doing that around the forum and PDFs I believe.

  • Adobe reader command line search

    Hello everyone,
I am opening a PDF file using command line arguments and perform a search.
    My command looks like this:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /A search="word" "C:\File.pdf"
The command is working, but I have the issue that it looks like the search is only performing with option "Match whole words only".
Does anybody know if I can change this option for command line search to get all search results?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows 7 Defrag from command line does not work

We are running Windows 7 in a virtualized environment. When running windows defrag using schedule or from command line, it does not work. The command that I am executing as administrator is
    C:\Windows\system32>defrag /c
    Microsoft Disk Defragmenter
    Copyright (c) 2007 Microsoft Corp.
It displays the above message and exits back to the command prompt. However if I run the command defrag C: it does work. Defragmenting from the GUI works as well as long as both the disks (C: and System Reserved) are selected and when I click on
    Defragment disks, works fine.
I am concerned about defrag running from the task scheduler with the command "defrag /c" (auto scheduled using Configure Schedule... from Disk Defragmenter) does not work and the system never gets defragmented automatically.
This happens only with some of the windows 7 VM's that we have.
There are no entries in Event Log that point to the defrag (using task scheduler). Any ideas what may be going on?

    Hi,
Could you defrag as below method:
    1. Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type
Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click
    Disk Defragmenter.
2.Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment.
3.To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the
Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk.
4.Click Defragment disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
