Changing the column color

Hi ,
would I be able to change the complete column color
dynamically (it does'nt work using the Advanced Datagrid --
styleFunction property) I am able to change the color of the
text of a specific column dynamically (
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=advdatagrid_04.html#230321)
but not the background color of the column.
Can any body provide some help on this (changing the
background color of the column dynamically)
thanks

Just look and see what column it is and change its background
color...

• Changing the Column Color in Swing

I have two columns in JTable, both have objects of String. For some reasons I have to differentiate the background color of the two columns. All my tries including my overriding javax.swing.table.DefaultTableCellRenderer makes both the columns look similar as both of them have same type i.e. object of String. Is there any way to have different background for these two columns

class MuRenderer extends DefaultTableCellRenderer{
public MyRenderer(){
super();
public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus, int row, int column) {
if(column == 0)
this.setBackground(Color.red);
else
this.setBackground(Color.blue);
return this;
}and when you initialize you JTable :
MyRenderer red = new MyRenderer();
Enumeration columns = table.getColumnModel().getColumns();
while(columns.hasMoreElements()){
((TableColumn)columns.nextElement()).setCellRenderer(red);

• How to change the semantic color of entire rows in a table.

Hi, in the past I already managed to change the semantic color of a cell by a condition (for example all the cells with negative number -> I set negative semantic color)
My question is how can I change the semantic color of the entire row where this cell belong, and not only the cell. Im using NW2004.
BTW, Im not a java programmer, neither a Webdynpro expert, just an ABAP Programmer. So try to be very explicit, Thx.

Rodrigo,
You can just bind correspondign property of every cell editor (TextView) of every column to the very same context attribute. Next, when you change attribute value for certain elemnt, the whole row (every cell editor in row) will get same value.

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 with ADF faces in view layer.My issue is How to change the background color of a single row in af:table ?.

• How to change the background color of a cell based on other cell background

Hi,
Sorry if this is a basic question - I am new to XML. I want to create a table column, with no data in it. I then want to change the background color of the column based on the background color of other columns. I.E.
- If there are 3 or less cells in this row that are not green, color this cell green.
- If there are 4 or less cells in this row that are not green, and 3 or less are not red, color this cell yellow.
- If there are 4 or less cells in this row that are not green, and 3 or more are red, color this cell red.
If there are 5 or more cells in this row that are not green, color this cell red.
Many thanks for any assistance.

Okay - I have this resolved.
1. Create two variables (Yellow and Red):
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Yellow', 0)?>
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Red', 0)
2. For each cell, set the background based on their individual traffic light criteria, and update the associated color variable by 1. By default the backgrd color is set to Yellow so I only have to check for the lower and upper bounds:
<?choose:?>
<?when:number(CHECKED_IN)<=1?>
<?attribute@incontext:background-color;'Lime'?>
<?end when?>
<?when:number(CHECKED_IN)>3?>
<?attribute@incontext:background-color;'Red'?>
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Red', xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Red') +1)?>
<?end when?>
<?otherwise?>
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Yellow', xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Yellow') +1 )?>
<?end otherwise?>
<?end choose
3. I now want a cell that is Red if any of the cells in the row is red. Its yellow of there are 3 or more yellow cells in the row, and no reds. Otherwise its green. First, create an empty cell and make the default color green. Then add:
<?if: number(xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'Red')) > 0?>
<?attribute@incontext:background-color;'Red'?>
<?end if?>
<?if: number(xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'Yellow')) >= 3 and number(xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'Red')) = 0?>
<?attribute@incontext:background-color;'Yellow'?>
<?end if?>
4. Finally, reset the variables for the next row:
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Yellow', 0)?>
<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'Red', 0)

• How to change the background color of a cell in datagrid using flex3

i want to change the background color of a cell.....how can i achieve this.....and also i want to know how a spacing cane be done between cells in a datagrid...plzzz help me???

The only way I can see to do this is to use an item renderer for your cells. This is really scruffy and would need tyding up, and maybe with a little more time could do better or someone else may have an idea but none the less this works.
Define a custom component as below;
This has logic to see what the value of the data is proveided by the dataprovider for the row, and if it matches the conditions in this case is equal to 5 sets the background color.

<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="88" height="26" dataChange="doColor()" borderColor="#000000" borderStyle="solid"
backgroundAlpha="1">
<mx:Script>

private function doColor():void {
if (data.value == 5) {
setStyle('backgroundColor', 0xcccccc);
} else {
setStyle('backgroundColor', 0xffffff);

</mx:Script>
</mx:Canvas>
Now just apply the item renderer in the datagrid and that will do it.

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:ns1="*">
<mx:Script>

[Bindable]
private var ac:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([
{value : 1},
{value : 2},
{value : 3},
{value : 4},
{value : 5},
{value : 6},
{value : 7},
{value : 8},
{value : 9},
{value : 10}

</mx:Script>
<mx:DataGrid x="40" y="36" width="408" height="193" dataProvider="{ac}">

<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 3" dataField="col3"/>
</mx:columns>
</mx:DataGrid>
</mx:Application>

• Change the background color of a cell in JTable

Hi all,
How can I change the background color of individual cell in JTable. I need to construct my own TableCellRenderer or not? I'm now using the DefaultTableCellRenderer now.
Thx

You could create your own renderer or you could try something like:
table = new JTable(model)
public TableCellRenderer getCellRenderer(int row, int column)
DefaultTableCellRenderer tcr =
(DefaultTableCellRenderer)super.getCellRenderer(row, column);
if (row == 1 && column == 1)
tcr.setBackground(Color.green);
else
tcr.setBackground(Color.red);
return tcr;
};

• Change the background color of selected row in adf table

Hi,
Can somebody guide me in changing the background color of a row when its being selected. In my ADF table, one of the column is of type Command Link. So whenever i click this command link on any particular row that complete row color should change as an indication of that row being selected.
Please guide me to do this. I referred to other forum posts, but they couldnt meet my need.
Thanks
ri

Hi Frank,
you're right. This should work. But the result is not perfect from my point of view.
I use
<af:table ...>
<af:column ...>
<af:outputText value="#{row.col1}" inlineStyle="#{row.mystyle}"/>
</af:column>
</af:table>and I get e.g. this in HTML:
<table ...>

qqq

while I would prefer to get somethig like this:
<table ...>

qqq

, which looks much smarter. Is it possible?
Thanks,
Alexandre.

• How to programmatically change the cell color of an ADF table ?

Hi all,
I have an ADF table with some fields on it. Depending on the value of a field named, say, "F1", I would like to change its background color.
So far I can change the field color with this EL expression inside the InlineStyle table column property:
font-size:medium; background-color:#{viewScope.myBean.setColor};
where setColor is a bean function, in where I access the field "F1" via binding, parse its value, and return the right value - so far, so good.
The bad thing is, the InlineStyle affects that field in all the rows of the table, while I would like to change only the field in the rows, which have that specific value in it.
So for example having the rows:
F1
abc#1 ----> currently selected row
cde#2
efg#3
I want to change the background color to all the F1 fields which have a "1" after the '#' and let the other "F1" row cells background color stay unchanged.
But as you can imagine, the InlineStyle affect the "F1" background color in all the rows (assuming that the first row of the table is selected).
So the question: how to access a single cell of a row in an ADF table, and programmatically change its background color ?
So far I can iterate through the ADF table with:
BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("aTableIterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
RowSetIterator rsi = dciter.getRowSetIterator();
System.out.println("rsi getrowcount = " rsi.getRowCount());+
Row row = null;
+if (rsi.getRowCount() > 0) {+
row = rsi.getCurrentRow();
System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
System.out.println("class : " row.getAttribute("F1").getClass().toString());+
+}+
+while (rsi.hasNext()) {+
row = rsi.next();
System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
+}+
Regards,
Sergio.

Hi,
I mean a specific cell within a row.
Here are two pictures that show an ADF table with two rows and some fields on it:
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents#cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents
bild_A is what I have, bild_B is what I would like. Note that:
in bild_A the first row contain a yellow background color for the field F4 and an orange background color for the field F5. This is correct, because F4 has an "1" at the end of its string value, and F5 has a "3" at the end. So far so good.
But the second row (again, bild_A) has also the fields F4 with yellow background color, and the field F5 with orange background color, even if the value in both fields is 0.
What is should be, is shown in bild_B.
The problem is that the solution provided affects all the cells of the column, while I need to change the background color of a single cell, and leave the other unchanged (see bild_B).
I hope that clarify a bit :)
Sergio.

• Change the background color for HToggleButton as State changed

Hi , I want to change the background color of HToggleButton or HGraphicButton as its state changed as normal to focus and then focus to normal and same with actioned state .It is possible to change the image with different states but how can I do the same thing to change background color .I'll appreciate any help regarding this with thanks in adv.

Satya,
i_x denotes first column and not characctersitic 1.
Also I am not sure if the check is to be for IS_SUM.
Use Get_Cell_info class instance and then use the data returned by the same for checking IS_SUM and then change the cellstyle.
Another thing to look out for is , the required change might be needed on DATA_CELL and notcharacteristic_cell.

• How to change the column name as bold in adf table

Hi,
How can I change the column name with bolder style and blue colour in adf Table?
I changed the color and font weight in af:column properties, but its effecting the data in that column but not with the column Header Text property.(i have given column name in header text).
can any one have any idea how to do this?
and I have taken panel tabbed layout and in that i'm displaying this table.
but this table has scroll beneath of it to show all columns.
but i want to display all columns (for this, page should have scroll at the bottom side).
how can I achieve this???

Hi,
Add the following CSS Code to the custom skin css file that is to be created as per the suggestions above.
*af|column::column-header-cell{*
color:Blue;
font-weight:bold;
This would ensure that all the table column headers are blue in color and bolder font style through-out the application.
By the way, what version of JDeveloper are you using?
Thanks,

• Change the background color in a report cell - td bgcolor

Hi.
I have a report in which I would like to change the background color of a table cell based on some values in the underlying query
If Column A > Column B and Column C > 10, I want to color the background green. In my cgi , this was easy, but in apex, even if I write the query to output html, won't everything already be wrapped in the

tags? Is there any way around this?
Thanks

Mike ,
With the above solution you can conditionally fill the report cell with a particular color and not the entire row set. If you want to highlight entire row, you have to do something different. Take a look at this jQuery function
Step 1 . Download jquery http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
Step 2. Upload it to apex image folder using shared component.
Step 3. In the page header put the following code

$(document).ready(function(){
if ($('.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA').length > 0) {
function HighLightRows(){
$("table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA tbody td:has(COLOR_GRAY)").siblings().addClass('greentd');
$("table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA tbody td:has(COLOR_GRAY)").addClass('greentd');

.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td.graytd
background-color: gray !important;

Step 4. Change the SQL Query to
SELECT
SALE_DATE
,PRODUCT_NAME
,PRODUCT_ID
, CASE WHEN SALE_DATE > ADD_MONTHS(SYSDATE,-2) THEN
'<COLOR_GREEN> </COLOR_GREEN>'
ELSE
'<COLOR_GRAY> </COLOR_GRAY>'
PRODUCT_NAME_COLOR
FROM SALES;
Step 5. Make this new column PRODUCT_NAME_COLOR visible and in the column heading u can just put .
As long as this column will be available for display you will see the conditional highlighting.Thanks,
