Changing the sampling rate of the Digitizer 5142

Dears,
Can i change the sampling rate of the digitizer 5142 ( for the 100MS/s can i change it to be smaller), can i change it at the spectrum mode and the IQ mode?

Thank you for posting on the NI Discussion Forums.  Since this question is related to your other forum post, let’s move the discussion over there to answer this question.

  • What is the start frequency for the digitizer 5142

    Dears,
what is the start and stop frequency of the digitizer 5142 which is 100MS/s?

    Hello Ahmed.Abdulbaky,
When you say “start” and “stop” frequencies, I assume that you are inquiring about the maximum and minimum sampling rates of the 5142 digitizer.  Is this correct?  If so, then take a look at page 13 of the NI PXI/PCI-5142 Specifications, and you will see under Real-Time Sampling that the minimum and maximum sampling rates are 1.526 kS/s and 100 MS/s, respectively.
To answer your question from your other post, yes, you can change the sampling rate of the digitizer through the NI-SCOPE API.  If you are using LabVIEW with the device, there is a VI called “niScope Configure Horizontal Timing.vi” that you can use to set the sampling rate, by wiring the desired sampling rate to the min sample rate input.  This VI can be found in the functions palette under Measurement I/O » NI-SCOPE » niScope Sonfigure Horizontal Timing.vi.

  • Changing default sample rate breaks Pulseaudio

When I change default sample rate from s16le to s24le which my card supports (and it always worked under Ubuntu) Pulseaudio goes bananas and doesn't play any sound in Firefox and Spotify, but works in Audacious or for system sounds (like speaker test from Gnome settings).
Output of pulseaudio -vvvv in default settings:

Thanks. That will also be nice in that I won't have to re-do all of my saved screensets every time.
Is there an easy way to open templates? I ask because Logic requires them to be saved to the "Project Template" folder, whereas I have all of my music stuff saved on an external firewire drive. Also, templates don't appear to show up under the "open recent" menu so I'm wondering if I'm going to have to go into that folder every time I need to use that template.

  • Changing audio sample rate in FCP

    Hi all
A quick question, can someone explain how to change the sample rate of audio in FCP, if at all possible. Or do I need to do it in Soundtrack?
    Many Thanks
    Adrian

You can't change the sample rate in FCP; you can only change it by exporting it. You can do that from FCP, STP, Compressor, QuickTime, iTunes, and a bunch of other applications. Making a Compressor droplet to do this is perhaps the easiest way.

  • Can't find where to change audio sample rate

I'm trying to change the audio sample rate but can't find where to change it

You can change it in SoundTrack Pro, or with QuickTime Pro.

  • How do i change Audio sample rate to suit?

    Hi,
I Just captured a small clip from my DV camera on final express 4. At the end of the capture i got a message saying that the sample rate on my source may be different to the rate on my capture and it may cause the video and audio to go out of sync. This did happen so i checked the camcorder and it is set to 12bit. How do i set the captute settings to suit??
    Thanks,
    Dave.

Can I ask a stupid question?
What do you mean "if you overrun" I just encountered all the above issues. First tape imported perfectly once I changed it to 32. The next one appeared to but then like jerryws1431 said, FCE quit. I wasn't here at the point it quit, but if was either after or during the "Validating Audio". Last time I looked it was validating.
So, if I have a 60 minute tape and I tape 51 minutes, is that too much to have on one tape, or am I completely missing something......
Tom, thank you so much for all this information! I would have been stuck with out of sync audio had it not been for you!

  • Conforming media changed Audio sample rate to 20khz by mistake!!!

Has anyone had experience conforming media from 59.93 to 23.98 and Cinema Tools changes the audio sample rate? Where is the settings tabs for audio???

There are no options for audio - you can't change anything - when conforming (or reverse telecining) clips in Cinema Tools.
Is there any reason you're conforming from 60 to 24 in Cinema Tools? Did someone advise you to do that or is this a workflow that has been successful in the past?

  • Gain changes on sample rate change

I wrote an application with 2 channel analog input with different gains. If I change the sample frequency the gain setting seems to mix up. But the sample frequencies work if used as first. So, only after changing the sampling frequency the gains are mixed and could not be 'reset' by calling Scan_Setup() from NIDAQ library again.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
So it seems that changing the sampling frequency is affecting the gain of a channel?
I am not that sure what is causing this behavior, if you could answer the following questions, we could begin to figure this one out.
1.) How do we know that the gains are mixed up? Is one signal significantly larger then before? Is the code width decreased?
2.) Are you trying to change the sampling rate during acquisition? Are you running the acquisition to the end, then calling Scan_Setup again?
3.) Do you get this error if you call DAQ_Clear before reconfiguring the sampling rate?
Also, if you could post some pseudo code that explains which DAQ calls you are making, and their order, we should be able to get this problem figured out.

  • Changing Default Sample Rate Settings?

    Hello,
When I open up a new song in Logic it always defaults to 44.1. Sometimes I forget to switch it to 96 before recording only to discover later that I am going to have to convert the files or re-record. Is there a way to set a "default" so the sample rate is always at 96 when I start a new song? Thanks.

  • Adjusting the sample rate

How do I adjust the default sample rate setting to 44100?

If you are not going to answer this because it is on an older product, that is lame.  I tried to get on a forum for said older product, but that is grayed out from the list of products you have a forum on, which is also lame.
Well, I certainly don't wish to be described as "lame," Blastbot, as it is a personal fear of mine.  The forum for previous versions of Audition is available at http://forums.adobe.com/community/audition/audition_previous but since we're here and my earlier obligations today have wrapped freeing up a few minutes of my time, I'll be happy to walk you through the process for Audition 3.0.
In Audition, click Edit > Audio Hardware Setup...  In the dialog that pops up, you'll see the current hardware sample rate listed and a Control Panel button that will display the device configuration panel for the selected driver.  You should be able to change your sample rate by clicking that button, depending on which audio driver is selected.  The default "Audition Windows Sound" driver, which is generic and best suited for audio devices without their own drivers, defaults to the Windows sample rate.  If you have a good audio device with its own, native ASIO driver, you can usually modify the sample rate within their control panel.
Since you're apparently running Windows, although I'm not certain which version you have, you may need to change the sample rate of your audio device at the Operating System level.  You can usually reach this menu by opening the Windows Control Panel and launching "Sounds and Audio Devices" (on Windows XP) or "Sound" (on Windows Vista and Windows 7.)  Here, you'll need to navigate to your playback device selection, open the device properties, and adjust the default sample rate that you desire.
More detailed information can be found in the Adobe Audition Help documents either from the Help menu item, or the Help button located in the bottom-right corner of the Audio Hardware Setup window.  Additional information about Sample Rates can be found on Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sample_rate
I sincerely hope this helps answer your question and relieves me the burden of lameness, at least as far as this issue extends.

  • Sample rate will not change

Logic refuses to change its sample rate from 44100. This happened all of a sudden last night when I opened a session I was mixing at 48000 and noticed it was playing back at 44100 (as it sounded flat and slow, obviously).
When I select a new sample rate from the Audio menu there is a click, Logic thinks for a moment, then there is another click, and Logic thinks a little longer then a brief spinning rainbow. When it has finished the sample rate is still 44100.
I am using the built-in audio driver on my MacBook. I have imported the audio from a 48000/24bit pro-tools session. I'm used to working in 44100 so I may have missed something obvious, but it seemed to be working for me yesterday.
Urgently need this working. Any help much appreciated thanks.

I've just noticed this today, and found the solution...
I was convinced that you could set the sound card's sample rate independently of Logic and I believed I had been running it at 192 KHz before, during and after a Logic session. Whether or not Logic would temporarily change this to 44.1 I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure if it didn't keep it at 192 during, it certainly reverted to it on closing Logic. But now, this isn't the case, and I'm finding Logic sets it and then keeps it at 44.1
    The solution...
Set your project's sample rate to the desired rate in File > Project Settings > Audio
My gripe about this is that it's not trivial to change this once you've done a lot of audio work because Logic doesn't seem to understand that an audio sample at 44.1 is the same temporal length as one that's at 192, so it time compresses them (+and the pitch goes up+) if you up the sample rate. I would imagine the opposite would be true, although I haven't tried it.
So you really need to decide on the project's sample rate from the start, and stick with that (+unless you are just working with Apple Loops and Midi, in which case everything seems OK+).

  • Changing sample rate

when I start to record a new project, sometimes it doesn't read any level coming in. Also, if it is responding, but then I try to change the sample rate before beginning to record, it also won't show any level. I'm using a MOTU 896.

When you change your sample rate, you then have to relaunch the audio engine (go to Audio > Audio Hardware and Drivers, uncheck, and then recheck the "Enabled" box, and then choose "Try re-launch" from the following dialog).

  • Audio problem ( sample rate/ mismatch samplerate )

    Hi everyone,
I'm using a Macbook white Mid 2010, everything is fine but recenly i bought a USB interface to record music from my instruments ( Mic and guitar ) through garageband..
I have watched steps on how to connect guitar to garageband, and i did those steps by selecting USB channel as input..
The problem is every time i test my guitar or microphone, it sounds terrible just like little chipmunk or something. Some ppl told me my sample rate is mismatch. I also was checking around on Audio Midi Setup, i can't change my sample rate for my USB audio interface. The input for it, is 28000KHz, and i was told garageband only accepts 44000KHz.. So i thought my USB interface was having a problem..
However today i have tested my microphone on my old iMac white, i did plug in my USB interface and microphone, it worked so fine. The sound was not like on my macbook. it just fine and very clear. So my USB interface is not the problem..
BTW audacity also works fine on my macbook, only garageband..
Could someone help me? I can give you more details about it..

Canon cameras are notorious for recording with nonstandard sampling.   Usually, though, material will capture without synch problems.
Make sure you have "abort capture on dropped frames" and "create new clip on timecode break" enabled in fcp:  user preferences:  general  and do not capture over a control track break (where you see just "noise" in the video

  • Slow sampling rate = slow button response time

(Disclaimer: I am a labview novice)
I am writing a VI that acquires data from 2 sources - one via serial communication (VISA) and one via DAQmx (simple voltage measurement).
Currently, our sampling rate is 0.2 Hz (one sample per 5 seconds), which I am setting using Time Delay.vi within block structures (see screenshot).  The data is being recorded satisfactorily, however when I press any button, such as the clear button (clears chart history), the stop button, or the record button (starts/stops writing to measurement file, not shown in screenshot), the button state change does not register until the next sample is recorded.  The result is a delay of up to five seconds for any action I take.  This is a minor inconvenience, but we would like to change our sample rate to 1/60 Hz, which will lead to up to a 60 second delay before any actions taken are registered.
Block diagram attached.  I have removed all but the key functionality of the program in order to make it more readable.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  Any advice or suggestions are welcome, as I am new to Labview.
Thank you very much.  Screenshot attached.

One option for you is to put your user feedback (Clear Chart...) into a parallel loop that holds an event structure.  When the user triggers an event, by pressing a button in this case, that even will execute immediately.  Look in the LabVIEW help for info on Event Structures, it is well documented there.
