Character's format change when printing email

Wireless printing from my iPad is perfect. One small problem: when I print an incoming or outgoing email, the printed result is in much langer (bold) characters for the body of the Text, while the healing ('from', 'subject', 'date'...) remains the same.
Can this be avoided?
Thanks,
Walter.

Hello @walterke,
Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that when you print an email from your iPad the characters printed are not in the same format as on the devices display.  I would like to help.
If you are using the built in Airprint feature to print your emails, then it can't be avoided.
The iPad is using a generic print driver that is meant to work with the majority of printers.
If you would like to make adjustments to your printouts, try the HP ePrint app.

  • Format Changes when Exporting to PDF

I'm using Crystal 12.0 and have an issue very similar to these threads listed below.
While viewing a report on my development machine, all is fine.  I can export to PDF and the formatting is OK.
However, when the report is exported to PDF on the web server, the spacing between some of the text is off.  The spacing is used for a CrossTab cell in a "Display String" that I changed using "Format Field."   All that's supposed to happen here is several spaces are used to move the text under the proper column.
When exporting to PDF on the web, the text moves over to the left like it's missing some of the spaces.  I wondering if the below threads apply to Crystal 12.0.
    Thread:1220516 and
Format Changes when Exporting to PDF
    Thanks kindly for your assistance,
    -Marty

I'm having a very similar problem using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008. Everything is perfect when running in VS 2008, it takes the report and exports it to PDF format via VB code. The PDF file is idenitcal to the report. However, when run on the server the one page report (when exported to PDF) gets chopped into ten 4x4 chunks. So the PDF file is 10 pages....its like puzzle pieces of the original.
I've drawn a bunch of lines on the report to look like boxes - perhaps this is causing issues? The font on the report is Arial.
The server has the 10_5 runtime installed and it is set to the same default printer as the development PC. I have been stuck on this for days and would really appreciate any advice you may have.
    Thanks!

    Hi allieb2901,
You can customize your ePrint email address at ePrintCenter.com. After signing into the website, just click the change button next you your ePrint address in blue.
If you have not registered your printer at ePrintCenter.com, print out the ePrint information page that has the 3-step process, or if you need clarification please post again.

When printing emails the print comes out indistinct and sometimes faded. Epson says it is a fault with my Mac book as the printer scans perfectly.

  • Format changing when IDCS3 file exported to PDF

I am using Acrobat 8 version 8.1.2, and InDesign version 5.0.2.
I am noticing a very specific problem when exporting some files to PDF from InDesign.
We often have a format where we have a numbered list of right-aligned number, followed by some text, a leader line, and then another number at the end of the line. This is set up with a left indent and a first line left indent (rather than using the numbered list options, we are required to do it this way where I work), and then the necessary tabs later in the lines.
I am finding since we switched to IDCS3, that when I export to PDF, lines containing this format change in the PDF. The text that appears after the number in the front of the line is pushed over on top of the leader line, leaving a huge white space. On rarer occasions, it will move things in lines that have no indents, but contain tabs that aren't being used.
I have been able to get the files to export correctly by removing the left indent and first-line left indent and using tabs instead (or by removing unused tabs). But we have hundreds of files set up in this manner so going in and changing how they are all set up is problematic to say the least. Many of these are also multi-line and not using the indents means we have to manually tab lines over.
Is this a known issue? Does anyone know why this might happen and how I can prevent it?
I tried posting in the Acrobat forums and it was suggested since it's an export issue that I might get more help from the InDesign folks.

Given that the file is being exported to PDF and not going via a driver route, there really is no reason why changing the default printer should make a difference whatsoever in this particular case. Changing default drivers in Microsoft Office applications, yes, but for this situation, no. And since Acrobat doesn't change formatting, the issue sounds like some problem associated with InDesign. Please report this problem directly to Adobe Tech Support and be prepared to send them sample files. Thanks!

I haven't tried printing to PDF. I will try that and see what happens. Unfortunetly, where I work we are required to export to PDF rather than print to PDF, so if it works it will only be a clue for me rather than a solution.
Thanks for the reply. I'll try a cross post to the InDesign forms.

  • Formating problems when printing from googlemail text program

I often use the text program in my google mail account to write letters. However when I click on print preview the format is altered in an undesireable way.
How can I avoid such unwanted format changes?

They "may" use it for the viewing end of things but the formatting end is all theirs and doesn't involve Adobe Reader. Reader just views the end product.

  • How to remove the account name from header when printing emails

In outlook 2007 using Exchange Server 2007 users wishing to print an email using memo style have a header consisting of the account user's full name and a bold line under it, then the friendly email headers and body. Is there a way to remove/configure
    the memo style header?
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
Unfortunately, there is no way in Outlook to change or remove the name or message header which is being displayed at the top of a printed message. It is tied to the Display Name of your email account which you can’t modify yourself for an Exchange account.

  • When Printing Emails Date References "Yesterday" Not Date of Receipt

Help! I need to print some emails for use in court. In the past the emails would clearly show the date of Receipt. Now the date displayed on the emails in iCloud prints the date on the email as "Yesterday 6:08 pm" instead of the actual date and time of receipt, like "05/22/2014 6:08 pm." The time zone is correct, this seems to be a "feature" that changed recently in iCloud. Other than turning the long header on when printing each email, which results in a lot of extra header information being displayed, what can I do?  Thanks for your help!

The date offered is the date time printed. You do not get the option to modify which date and time is used. If you feel it is not correct, simply remove it.

  • Formatting Issues When Printing from a PDF

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 in Windows 7.  I have been printing or saving documnts as PDF's without issues until today.  I have created a document in Microsoft Publisher and have saved it as a PDF.  When I open that document, it appears on screen just as the original file in Publisher.  My issues are when I print from the PDF document.  When I print from the PDF, the formating for footers is not saved.  For example.  I might have a blank page with a page number at the top and a footer containing my company name on the bottom of the page.  When I print that page, the page number is where it is suppose to be, but the footer is moved to right under the page number at the top of the page.   I have been printing PDF from Publisher for years using these same versions of Adobe and Publisher.  Does anyone know why the formatting is not printing correctly?

  • Default printer on domain computers changes when print spooler is restarted

    Hi.
It has been brought to my attention that all of my Windows 8.1 machines on our domain change their network default printers when the print spooler is restarted.  Printers are being assigned by group policy, using the print management tool, as Branch
    Office Direct IP printers.
A little bit of research indicates that the default printer is changing "BY DESIGN!!!???" to the last printer being assigned in the OU.  Gotta say....if this is by design, it's a bad design!  As well as unacceptable.  Then I discover
that the default printer precedence is something like 1. Locally installed printers, 2. Software installed printers, 3. Network printers in reverse order that they are assigned in the OU.  COME ON!!  I.e., changing the order of assignment in the
OU is useless because local printers and software installed printers are still taking precedence, and on every log in the users default printers are being changed to something as useless as WebEx Document Loader.
I know this is a radical thought.....but how about if the default printer stays set to whatever the user sets it to??  That way, they won't hate me and curse me.  Selfish, I know.
I am shocked by the lack of information that I am finding for this simple and sensible option, and am accordingly loosing faith in Microsoft by the day, and beginning to feel that the end really is nigh for this platform, because I seriously don't appreciate
absorbing hostility that is better directed at them, and self-preservation instincts do eventually kick in.
Can somebody tell me how to prevent user selected default network printers on domain computer's from changing when the users log off, before the lynch mob gets here?
To be clear, these are domain computers.  Users are not administrators.  Printer assignments are made via group policy.  Users do not wear glass slippers (so solutions requiring manipulation of special footwear will not be effective).
    THANKS

    Hi,
Please refer to this similar thread Althornin's solution to add the registry to see if it could be fixed.
Go and edit the users registry hive:
    HKEY_USERS\USERS_SID_HERE\Printers\Connections
Found old printer connections there that were no longer valid.  Upon clearing those out, after a reboot, the problem went away.
I also cleared out the HKEY_USERS\USERS_SID_HERE\Printers\Settings key - the users had old printer setting sid there also.

  • Document changes when printed

When printing a pdf a date in my file is changing.  On the screen it shows 2006 when it prints it is 2007.  How can I get it to print correctly?
    Thanks for your help.

And in English? If you're referring to PDF's in Acrobat, you need to enable the "Markup" option in teh print dialog to print comments, redaction or text changes. Some of that wil lrequire saving the document before printing, too.

  • Photo size changes when printing

This is my problem. When I view a photo in my event, I am happy with the image. When I go to print, I find that parts of my image are cut off. It looks like the image zoomed in a little. How can I print the image exactly like it is displayed in the event? Also, this doesn't seem to change when I print different sizes, parts of the original image are always missing on the print.

Crop the photo to 11 x 14 before printing. That will insure that what you see in the cropped image will end up in the printed 11 x 14 image.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • A3 document format doesn't choose correct format automatically when printing

    Situation:
    - Mac OS X 10.10
    - ID CS6
    - Bizhub c284 printer
    - Document format is A3
    Problem:
When printing, the Print dialogue doesn't choose A3 automatically. In other applications, this work.
Is there any way to make Indesign automatically choose A3?
    Thanks,

    Hi.
    Try this:
    - close all documents
    - choose File > Print presets > Define and choose "Default"
    -  Format > Choose "Paper Format" and set it to "Custom" (You may also set up other options you may find useful)
    - that's it...
I don't guarantee result, but you may give it a try.

If you're using Windows 7 Ultimate (I think) and your processor supports virtualization, you could try installing XP Mode. Some older apps that were wonky in Win7 are usually much happier in XP Mode.
If you're not operating as per above, have you turned off UAC and set Indy to run in Compatibility mode?
Lastly, I'm suggesting these as possible bits of duct-tape to try, not as reliable fixes. Bob is right. If you're not willing to upgrade InDesign, think hard about downgrading your OS.
