  • Adding fields with data type "TIMS" to the BP transaction

    hi all,
This  is Anil regarding the addition of fields to the BP transaction.
here my problem is for BP transaction I could not find any BADI or screen exit  to add the fields. Even EEWB tool does not allow us to cretate the fields with data type "TIMS". so could you please suggest any other way to add these fields to BP?
when I enter the values to the time fields in BP transaction, they must reflect in
    BUT000 table also?
    Regards,
    Anil .

In the physical layer, Column Properties change the data type to int.
If still problem exists, In the Business Model, write a case statement like
case when column1=1 then 1 end
and apply count aggregation on the new calculated column, add the column to presentation table, use that new calculated column for report.

  • Characteristic of Data Type = Date follows User Profile Only

    Hi All
In EHS SVT the characteristic TSCAList_Date [SAP_EHS_1023_053_DATE_LIST] is of Data Type = Date) and follows the date format defined in the User Profile of actual user.
If a user is using EU profile such as:
    EU date format = 1 DD.MM.YYYY
EU decimal notation format = 1.234.567,89
If he enters a date in another format (Such as YYYY-MM-DD - 2010-03-27) than the one defined in the User Profile (DD.MM.YYYY - 27.03.2010); he will get an error message text:  "Value (&) is not numeric"
    Question:
How he can bypass this error and allow SAP make the conversion to changing the date entered (2010-03-27) to the one used in the User profile (27.03.2010)?
    I will apreciate any Help
    KO

    Hello Ouadria
    very interesting request indeed.
a.) my understanding of SAP GUI approach is: user has an user id and logon parameter
b.) by specifing an user profile some "default" set up should be used in further UI interaction in SAP GUI interface (especially date format etc.)
c.) Therefore it makes "no" sense to use a "different" format in entering a date etc. as specified in the user profile; in addition I believe the "look and feel" of the data (display and no maintain) is once again connected to the user profile, That means if you change the data in user profile the "date" format and "numeric" format should change in UI; this "change" should be active after saving the profile once again (regarding fonts etc. in UI: the change is done "immediate"; user profile changes is done in a further session and I believe the original session is not changed (not sure ..))
d.) indipendent on  user profile the application makes sure that the data is written into the SAP internal format (date and numeric vlaue) into the tables
Coming with EH&S 2.7 you can use a new function in class/characteristic maintenance to change (display conversion in different allowed UOM) "UOMs" (etc.) and to get an idea which UOMs are allowed. I believe (not sure) that this new function should be available regarding characteristics of date format too. This function is "hidden" in some sense in the Menue (if I remember correct; i am not using it often).
May be you could think of a "tricky" way to use the user parametres (by preparing some programming) but I would not investigate the money (and time) but simple change the user profile enter the data and then change back the profile.
Different "easy" solution would be to use a second user id (one with default format DD.MM.YYYY and second with YYYY-MM-DD)
    May be this helps
    With best regards
    C.B.
PS: Regarding UOM conversion: take a look here:

  • Handle null value in char infoobject -data type DATE(ora-01722 invalid num)

    Hi,
We have a DSO with a info object in the Data fields. The char info object has the data type DATE and most often it has the null value. but some times  it has data in it.
When ever we were trying to run a report on the DSO it throws a error  as  ORA- 01722 INVALID NUMBER.
we tried editing PSA data and placing 00000000 for null values - and had a message  invalid date.
    suggestions pls
    Regards.

    Hello,
Please check the note given below
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1327167.
If null value is the problem,  change the query setting for not to show the null values. Just add a filter in ZDAT to exclude "NULL"

  • Date (the Date type) + time (String type) == Calendar type

I need to convert a date date containing a pair of Date and Time to Calendar. The date is from the Date type and the time is from a String such as "10:30 AM". This pair of data is entered on UI by a user. And I use DateFormat to make the conversion. It seems to me that I have to use deprecated Date methods such as getYear(), getHour().
    Any better approaches?

Well, the java.util.Date class represent a specific "point" in time, with second precision. So, once you have your semantically right Date instance, it's just a matter of creating a new Calendar, and calling setTime.
Or maybe you should just create a Calendar instance from the start, since that's what the user is entering.

  • Data Type Time

    Hello,
I need to use datatype TIME but don't know how to use it, here is my example:
    alter table temps
    add heure TIME('HH:MI');
but it doesn't work. Please tell to resolve this problem. thank you.

    Thank you for your reply.
I found the answer to my question, I have to declare heure as date and when I insert value in my table I have to do the following:
    insert into temps
    values (to_date('12:44','HH:MI'));
and it works. But if you turn around and do select time_col from temps where time_col= to_date('12:44','HH:MI')You'll get that record back but if you do the same query tomorrow you won't find it. If all you're interested in is really the HH:MM (or maybe the HH24:MM then always use a fixed date. insert into temps
    values (to_date('2000/01/01 12:44','YYYY/MM/DD HH:MI'));

  • Date n Time in same filed

I have a flat file with Date n Time in the same field (DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS).How can i load this to BW?
    Help me in this issue
    sriman

    hi Sriman,
you will need to load it to 2 infoobjects in bw, one date and the other with data type time.
whenever possible try to format the flat file in excel for date with YYYYMMDD format for date, separate into 2 columns, click the whole column and right click 'format cells', use last option 'custom' and 'YYYYMMDD' in type.
or in bw transfer rules use routine in date characteristic, e.g the field name is zdatetime, choose the field and code like
    concatenate tran_structure-zdatetime6(4) tran_structure-zdatetime3(2) tran_structure-zdatetime+0(2) into result.
do the same for time infoobject
    concatenate tran_structure-zdatetime11(2) tran_structure-zdatetime14(2) tran_structure-zdatetime+16(2) into result.
    hope this helps.

  • Date and Time formats change in transfer rules

    Hello Experts,
Could someone please help me to fix the following issue with DATE AND TIME format.
I have two info objects zdate with data type DATS (length 8) and ztime with data types TIMS (length 6).
The data in the data source (alalertdb table) is in the format of date dd.mm.yyyy and time in hh:mm:ss.
Now when i am trying to extract the data, the load is failing because the system is taking dd.mm.yyyy length as 10 and hh:mm:ss length as 8. My infoobject
only alows 8 for date and 6 for time.
Do I need to write any routines in the transfer rules? If yes please share the code.
All the inputs are much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hello ALL,
    Thanks for your inputs.
Adios, I will try your routine if I am not tru with the formula. Thank you very much for your reply.
Bjorn, Your formula sounds quite simple. can you please eloberate the information.
When I used the formula for the date field its giving me an error with message FORMULA ELEMENT IS NOT ALLOWED HERE.
    Formula I used is:
    LEFT( 2, < /BIC/ZOOH_DATE> ) & SUBSTRING( < /BIC/ZOOH_DATE>, 3, 2 ) & RIGHT( 4, < /BIC/ZOOH_DATE> )
can you also please let me know what results the formula brings.

  • Calculation of Date and Time Keyfigure

    Hello Experts,
I want to get the result out of two keyfigures with different data type. One keyfigure has the data type TIMS and the other DATS. Is it possible to calculate the following:
    Result =  (Keyfigure1 TIMS + Keyfigure2 DATS) - (Keyfigure2 TIMS + Keyfigure3 DATS)
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Anastasios Kozas,
Out put(Result) you need in days or hours..?
Eg: For Hours: find difference between hour keyfigures + difference between date and convert to hours.
    Then it works.

  • SQL Server 2014 Express, missing Data Type

My problem is a simple one. When I create a new column and give it a Data Type, my options do not inlcude the "time" type. I found the documentation about available data types, and time is listed as one for SQL 2014. My desire is to have a data
type that fits the HH:MM:SS format, excluding the date part that datetime offers. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I did what you suggested, got this error:
    Msg 2715, Level 16, Sate 6, Line 1

  • Date and Time comparisons...

Hi! and regards to all.... I´m trying to get the interval from a table depending on current date and time (sysdate), but i´m having problems when comparing date where first one is greater than second one...
My table is defined and populated as...
    HRA_ID HRA_INTERV HRA_INICIO HRA_FIN
    1 15 01/01/2008 08:00:00 a.m. 01/12/2020 10:00:00 p.m.
    2 30 01/01/2008 10:01:00 p.m. 01/12/2020 07:59:00 a.m.
Whend doing comparison between 8:00am to 10:00pm no problem is found and the data 15 is returned... but when comparing in the second interval (10:01pm to 7:59am next day) problems are come.. I supose is because of different days are considered in my sql statement... nevertheless i would like to receive comments...
    My sql statement is:
    SELECT HRA_INVERV
    FROM UBI_HORARIOS A
    WHERE TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'HH24:MI:SS'),'HH24:MI:SS')
    BETWEEN (TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(A.HRA_INICIO,'HH24:MI:SS'),'HH24:MI:SS'))
    AND
         (TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(A.HRA_FIN,'HH24:MI:SS'),'HH24:MI:SS'))
    Your suggestions are welcome...

Thanks Justin!!, and EXACTLY!!!... That was the first error I found when my supervisors gave me the database ralational diagram... But in this case fields with data type TIME are not allowed.. So, what I´m trying to to is trim the date parte of the field (01/01/2008, etc, etc) and JUST USE TIME INTERVALS... That´s why I´m using to_char and to_date... in order to ELIMINATE DATE PARTS AND USE JUST THEIR TIME PERIODS... But being honest.. i don´t know if there´s another function could help...

  • Combine date and time fields to create datetime field

I have a column that is Data type: Time and one that is Data type: Date.  I want to end up with one column that is Date type: Date/Time.  Seems like it should be easy.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can combine the two columns using the Query Editor. Let's assume you have two columns loaded into the Query Editor. The first column has the time column, and the second one has the date, you can follow these steps to combine the two:
    Select the two columns.
Go to "Transform" tab, and click the "Merge Columns" (See screenshot below).
In the "Merge Columns" dialog select "Space" in the first dropdown menu, and type the new column name in the second control.
    Click "OK".
Now you will see a new column in the Query Editor instead of the previous two columns.
Right click the column header and select Change Type --> Date/Time.
The new column will be converted into a Date/Time column.

    Hi Faisal,
which SQL version do you use? In 2005 there is no variable "date" or "time", instead of this you have to use "datetime".

If not, can it be accomplished in RSA1?  How?

its not possible via Query designer..
give that object name if it is infoobject then you can get via RSD1
