Charging battery interfereing with trackpad!

Today I purchased a new charger for my macbook pro and it all seemed to be working great.
a few hours later my trackpad has been playing up. the 'pointer/mouse' wont go in a straight line it's all jaggered and its slow and drags, basically wherever my finger moves on the trackpad the mouse clicker is hardly in sync it also has difficult moving to the right as if there's an invisible wall in the way.
I unplugged the charger and my trackpad returned to normal.
plugged it back in and it went back to impossible.
it seems like the charger is interfereing with the trackpad :/
which is so annoying becuase I need it to remain constantly on the charger.
I need a new laptop battery in general and will be getting one soon, i doubt that has anything to do with it as it reverts back to normal when the charger is taken away. i tried re-starting etc also but nothing helped.
why is this happening and what should I do? i can't even click on something because the mouse is too slow to repond or wont allow smooth movement enough to even get it right on the link yet I need to keep it charged -_-
does anyone have a possible solution for me or answer as to why this is even possible? any info would be great

thanks for the reply,
Indeed, the trackpad goes back to normal when the charger is removed.   although  I have been using this new charger for a few hours this issue with the trackpad has only just started happening. I bought the charger online as I needed it urgently and it worked out that it would arrive sooner than I could get in store.
this is the charger I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170897190817
I've contacted the seller with my issue to see what they say.
I do need to go in store as, as mentioned, I need to get a battery replacement but I can't do that just yet as I need my computer over this week urgently and they informed me they couldnt replace it in one day.
so very annoying I'm having so many issues with the laptop all at once >.<
this trackpad this is definitely an inconvenience though -_-

  • Replacement battery interferes with display latch

This is a replacement NewerTech battery I bought for my 17" Powerbook. When I received it I sent the original Apple battery back for recycling - bad idea, as it turns out, since the NewerTech battery keeps the display latch from operating. Just putting the forward edge of the battery into place causes the latch to bind ever so slightly so that it stays partially depressed, keeping the lid from staying closed.
I spoke to OWC tech support who said this shouldn't happen, so I sent it in for another, which unfortunately does the same thing. I've sent it back for a third attempt but I'm losing hope.
If the third one doesn't work, I'm thinking of performing some minor surgery on the battery. Specifically, shaving off some material from the two plastic protrusions that project toward the front of the laptop. They don't seem to be required for it to stay in place.
If I remove the battery the display latch works fine. I wish I had the original Apple battery to compare, but it's gone to recycling heaven. I'm pretty sure Apple doesn't make batteries for this Powerbook any more. I'd even prefer a dead battery that allows the case to stay closed over a new one that doesn't.
Yes I have already set pmset lidwake to 0 which helps. I really need the PB to stay closed.
Has anyone run into this problem?

    Apple battery still available:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9326G/A?fnode=MTY1NDEwMQ&mco=MTM2ODg
That's the first I've heard of this problem but will admit I've seen very few people here with NT batteries. They seem more common in the older PowerBook forums.
I've had very good product return service from OWC. The only glitch was that I returned a non-functional BT Wallstreet battery they sent and they posted a restocking fee. I called, talked to a very nice lady, and she removed the restocking fee because the part was defective. Keep working with them.

When I charge my iPhone 5 with the car charger, it interferes with the radio (not other audio sources) and produces lots of static. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

Search "Car radio interference causes" on Google, and you'll see that's normal.
Choose "Car radio interference filters" and you'll find solutions.

The only response is when I connect the USB and press the power button or front button the Battery appears with red line on left and lightning symbol below. There is no other response at all no matter what I do, including holding both buttons down for extended period.  My other kid got one and it works perfectly.....I have interchanged usb cables ports etc. but still no response....I would really appreciate any help.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you have a hardware problem with the iPod. This is because as you said the same cable works with another iPod.

  • My bb 9380 won't turn on while the screen shows one battery sign with red cross mark ( not charging sign )

my bb 9380 won't turn on while the screen shows one battery sign with red cross mark ( not charging sign ), i think the battery drained and switch it for charging but it will show only not charging sign . i bought this phone before 9 months, whats the solution for this ?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Update: Video - Canon 6D turns itself off after a few shots with fully charged battery

Update: I uploaded my video to youtube, please comment:
    http://youtu.be/3PNLUYd8g7A
TIA and pardon me for my English.
I posted this originally at another forum, and somebody suggested me to post it here as well, to get more help.
Long story short, I purchased a brand new Canon 6D from B&H on Oct 24th, 2013. From early december, the camera starts to shut itself off randomly and displaying empty battery. I found the camera constantly shuts itself off after 20 - 100 continuous shots with a FULLY charged battery (right off charger, showing 8.23V using multimeter, and showing 98% in battery info).
The camera will just turn itself off in the middle of shooting, showing empty battery int the shoulder window. The solution is simple, open the battery door, then close it again, no need even to pull the battery.
So, I contacted Canon support, sent the camera to the VA service facility, waiting for it be repaired. As an engineer myself, I understand things fail, and I thought this is such an easy issue to reproduce, anybody should be able to repro it.
Couple of days later, I received a phone call to send my accessories in, no problem, debugging needs more info, that's normal. I sent my lens and stuff in. I unfortunately had to bear the cruel fact that I don't have a decent camera for the holiday, though I have a backup.
After a long wait, on 12/28the, the accessories were delivered at 9:35am. At 10am, they called me, they were sending the camera back. No issue at all. I was like, have you tested AT ALL? They didn't care, sending the camera back regardless.
I received the camera on Jan 2nd, and saw the same issue on that day. Of course, it was NOT fixed at all.
I googled really hard, somebody said he had similar issue but it was a defective battery, so I got a brand new Canon battery, unfortunately, the same issue pops up again.
Ok, the only choice for me is to send it back again.  But this time I am totally amazed by Canon.
I sent the camera in again with my lens and battery. Also, a video showing the issue on a standalone CF card (I know 6D does not take CF, just to put the video on it).
Couples of days later, they called asking for accessories, I was like, what accessories, I don't have any more.
Then the camera sit in their facility for a few days for nothing. All of sudden I received a phone call on Monday morning, said it is ready. The camera has no issue at all.
I called, asked whether they have watched the video, they told me two technicians, including a senior one, was not able to upload the video to the computer. I was like, what the hell? why the heck you need to upload it to the computer, find a card reader, plug the card in, double click, how simple is that?
I talked to the service manager over the phone, he told me that there is nothing he could do, if their technician said so. They have decided to send my camera back, NOT fixed, again. I esclated the issue again, but haven't heard anything back yet.
Honestly, I am totally pissed, how stupid can they be? I included a letter with detailed steps on how to reproduce this issue. As an engineer myself, I know how easy to reproduce this issue. But what shocked me is that they don't even know or they didn't even bother to watch the video. In the same letter, I asked/begged them to contact me if they cannot reproduce the issue instead of just sending it back unfixed.
Guys, any other ways to get their attention? I already filed a BBB complaint. For a brand new camera of 3 months old, it has been in Canon's repair shop for almost a month. Leave to say that I missed the most importand holiday season in the year. This is simply not acceptable.

"The camera usually shuts itself off after 20-100 continuous shot, ..."
By this you mean your are in continuous drive? You just hold the shutter release down until it stops shooting?
    "... the shoulder LCD shows a ..."
    What is the "shoulder" LCD?
Sorry for the extra questions but I am trying to understand exactly what you are going through and why Canon said it is OK.
Canon did not say it was all right if it is not.
You are, also saying, if you use the camera, just for a single snap shot, say several in a session, it is OK? Right?
It only shuts down when on continuous drive or video?

  • Still Having Problem with Battery Overheating with Car Dock/Charger when using Maps/Navigation

I'm having a problem with the battery overheating when using Google Navigation in the OEM Samsung car dock and car charger.  On a trip last weekend, I started off with a fully charged battery (because posts on other sites have complained that the Charge cannot keep up with the power draw of the Google nav app while using the car charger).  About an hour into my trip, I got a message that the battery was overheating and to unplug the charger which I did.  I then had to contend with the screen going out because it was running on the battery.  I let the phone discharge to about 70% then tried the car charger again.  Within a few minutes, I got the same overheating message.  It was not an overly hot day and the car A/C was set at 68 degrees.
This morning (with the battery at about 85%) I tried to use the Navigation without the car dock while charging and got the same results...the phone battery overheated and I had to unplug the charger. The battery temperature reached 116 degrees. (also, the battery level was also dropping while using the Maps or Nav application even though it was hooked up to the car charger).
I'm very disappointed with this situation since I was hoping I could replace my old Garmin GPS with the Charge.  But between the phone dimming the screen while running on battery, and having a depleted battery in the phone at the end of the trip, its just not a viable option.  I really like this phone, but I'm running against the "return" clock.
    Any ideas?
Could this be a software problem that will be corrected by an update in the future?
fyi:  other Charge problems in the last 5 days:
    - dropping audio on calls to other Verizon phones.
    - use of camera flash causing the phone to reboot.
(I do have the 'class 4' 32gb card in my Charge)
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

    Jerry:
Yes, the phone is charging while in the car dock.  I confirmed it both under the "about phone-status-battery status" menu and by my battery widget.  By watching the battery widget, I also noticed that the voltage steadily increased over the ride home.  It started at about 3.90 volts and ended at 4.02 volts.  I don't know if that is significant.  This time the battery did not overheat.  The Max temp was 110 degrees, but no notice to disconnect came up.  This might be because the sun was behind me on the drive home rather than beating down on the dash like it was this weeked.
I've ordered a cheap universal dock from Amazon for about $15.00 which clips onto the a/c vent.  I want to see if this keeps the temperature down.  If this works, I can still return the fancy-schmantzy Samsung OEM car dock. (The car-dock interface wasn't that impressive anyway).
Please let me know if the volt change means anything.
And thanks again for your help!

  • T41 won't run on AC only or with fully charged battery

I just got a used T41 laptop and have a weird problem.  It runs fine on battery only or with a partially charged battery.  But when I remove the battery and try to run on AC only, I get the "charger removed beep and screen flash warning" over and over again.  The same thing happens when the battery is installed and reaches full charge.  As it approaches full charge, I'll get the warning once in awhile.  But once it reaches full charge, or with the battery removed, it happens intermittently, every few seconds.
If I turn off the "Power Control" alarm in the BIOS, I don't get the beeps but the screen still flashes.  Also, the alarms start before the OS is loaded.  They occur even at the first screen where it allows you to press the IBM Access button.  It seems to be some sort of "over voltage" alarm.  I have Grub installed for dual booting XP and Linux and while Grub menu is displayed and I turn the LCD brightness up and down, the alarm frequency increases as I decrease the brightness.
As it stands, I can only use the computer by unplugging the AC when the battery reaches about 90% charge, running on battery only till it drops to about 20%, and then plugging the AC back in.  Frustrating!!!

Thank you for the information that does me no good at all.  I only paid $75 for the laptop and it will allow me to sell a good working Acer laptop for much more money.  I can put up with the inconvenience with my personal laptop.  In fact, it works quite well with just a 12v battery connected to the AC connector.  With only 12v applied, instead of 16v, the over voltage sensor doesn't kick in.  There are always several approaches to any problem and I was hoping someone here in the forum had one more elegant than mine.  If not, I can live with mine.  No way is replacing the MB a solution.
    Thanks anyway

  • Trackpad interfereing with sound in windows 7 beta

when im playing music in itunes, it starts playing but when i go to use my trackpad to go on the web or something the music stops and i cant move the cursor easily. if i connect my wireless logitech mouse and do the same thing with that it works fine

I have found a solution that is working for me in Windows Vista Ultimate.
1st: Uninstall the trackpad's drivers in Device Manager. It will be under HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES. Uninstall both the Apple Multitouch and Apple Multitouch Mouse deleting the drivers as well.
2nd: Get your Macbook Install DVD and browse the DVD. Go to Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple and install both "AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller.exe" and "AppleTrackpadInstaller.exe".
3rd: Restart your computer after installation
4th: Upon restart go to Device Manager again and enable both the Apple Multitouch and Apple Multitouch Mouse devices and you have a working trackpad again but this time, it will not interfere with any media playing applications.
    I hope this helps.

  • "unable to charge battery with connected source"

About 2 weeks ago I had to do an accessory RMA, since the "prongs" on my cords were almost non-existent. I received the new cords and things seemed to be fine.
Today, though again, my charging cord seems to feel "loose".
Today, while charging my PlayBook I do not see the "lightening bolt" across the battery, a "glow" appears in the upper left corner denoting new updates and I have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the message, "unable to charge battery with connected source".
I admit that I am at a loss on this one.
    I am running 1.0.7.2670 OS

Things that might help us help you:
    1. Is this the included charger, which plugs into a wall socket and the USB port (in the middle of the three)?
    2. Which "prongs" are you talking about? Usually the term would be used only, if at all, for the two/three metal prongs that stick into a wall socket. If you're talking about the other end, where it plugs into the USB port, it's hard to imagine what you mean by them being "almost non-existent".
    3. What country are you in? Different chargers are used in different countries, and this may be relevant here.
    4. Do you know anyone else with a PlayBook, so you could compare the behaviour by swapping cables, seeing how theirs fits, etc?

  • Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?

Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?
Does it have something to do with the MFI certification? Is micro USB just cheaper?
I don't want to have to carry around another cable and it seems like this would be a good product. What am I missing?

    Valid point.
So can I ask why there are no MFI certified lightning female ports on battery cases? Or more so, does this certification even exist?
    And why not?
This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

You do realise you are not talking to Apple here? We are just volunteer users. For the last time, it does not matter what charge the battery has when you buy an iPhone. If you want to believe that iPhones arrive with a 100% charge, you find out if it's true.

I don't think so because I am always using it when it happens.  I thought auto lock kicked in when you leave it idle for however many minutes you set it for.  But I will increase the minutes and see if it helps.
