Charging of capacitor, timing and flat-sequence struture
Hello
First I'll give you some information about my project:
I'm quite new to Labview, but I have programmed alot with C++/C/Assembly. The attached program is a small part of a bigger system, but I made a quick version of it, just to get the hang of it. A capacitor (image) will be charged up to 3,3V. I'll do two measurement at 2,5 V and 3,3 V, at about 3 tau and 5 tau of the charging. There are some timelimits and it's here I got some problems.
Sequence:
From start the signal have to be 0V for atleast 300 ms.
The the capacitor have to reach atleast 2,5V within 430 ms from start.
Then the capacitor have to reach 3,3 V within a maximum of 510 ms from start.
My attached program is built in a flat-sequence structure (maybe statemachine is better?). If I change the "Wait 300 ms" to "Wait 80" ms, the first time-check will pass. If I use 300 ms, the first time-check is about 600 ms and the last 950 ms (It should have been 430 ms - 300 ms = 130 ms, and 510 ms).
I'm not asking you to make anything for me, but maybe give me a hint where to look. Would a statemachine do better than the flat-sequence? Am I on the right track regarding time-checking, or is the Tick Count useless in this case?
Is the code within the Ruby Goldberg category?
Extra info: I got LV 2009 and 2010, but only the basic versions. The DAQ in my program can be replaced with a signalgenerator of 2,5 V and 3,3 V just for testing.
I think the program does its job, but my timing is not on track.
Thanks for any help.

Charging of capacitor.vi 128 KB
Hi again guys=)
Well yesterday I used the Daq Assist. I find it quite useful, but since I've used it alot now, I think it would be better to use something like tbob put together. The thing I had some problems with was:
I used the Daq Assist to get 1000 samples in 1000 ms. 1 sample per ms. Then I put that into an array using build array. After that I made a for-loop with 100 interrations, in other words I wanted 100 samples of the total of 1000, but on my graph I could not see anything.
As soon I has connected A, the counter C would not count from 100 til 200, but only switching between 100 and 101. If I removed the connection A, the counter worked fine. The conversion of dynamic data automatically popped up when I made the connection. I also thought the index array worked like this:
I can say which number in the array I want to read the data from.
The problem is that it returns a value only at index 0 or 1.
Then I finished at work. Today I'll study the context help abit more and try to find some other examples on how to extract data from an array.
For now I'll study your snippet, tbob, and learn howto set-up Daq without the Daq Assist. I also see that my attempt to extract data from an array also was wrong so I'll try again in an other way.
Thanks for the help guys

I purchased three albums last week and only two of them were charged. How can I make sure that the third album gets charged in a timely fashion?
Well, thanks for feeling with me, patkosanke ... AND for your wise advice.
I did followed your advice immediately and erased all the service number as well as S/Ns.
Can you, however, give me any "direct number" through which I can get hold of someone and request for what you're suggesting?
I believe I had talked with the person by the name of "Charlie" (I think... I hope I'm correct...) when I was having the same problem with the last device. He was very kind and helpful, though I ended up getting the device that brought the same problem.
Charlie told me that if I had any more problems I should call him. But I forgot to take down his direct number.
Or maybe I should call the main office and ask for him. But my memory is questionable as to his name, and besides I don't even know his last name either. There could be more than one "Charlies" in Palm.
So, if you could somehow email me some direct number (other than the one that keeps on hooking me up with those people in the overseas who are answering the phone only to sympathize with & apologize to me but can only issue a false hope with the SRO#. More than once I was given the promise that the supervisor would call me back within an hour or two but I ended up calling back after I had been left hanging in the air all night long.) where I can talk to someone like I did with Charlie last time who can truly carry out the promise, I would truly appreciate it, patkosanke. ^^
Thanks

Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
It has only happened for the last month or so
Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop buttonWho replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

I have just bought iphone 5 and i have a problem in charging it , firstly it took a long time to charge when i opened it to the first time , and its nearly dont charge on 110 output, and its taking a long time to charge on 220 reaches 50% in 1 hour is this normal?
The charger block is universal and is able to handle multiple votages. One hour to reach 50% seems fine to me if the phone was completely flat to start with. Just leave it on charge for as long as it takes to reach 100%. I leave mine connected overnight all the time and it does not harm the battery

My ipad ran out of battery and has been charging for an hour and won't turn on
my ipad ran out of battery and has been charging for an hour and won't turn on, it shows the charging from flat sign and nothing happens, please help, ive tried home and power
Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected. -
I just bought my macbook pro and it's charged up to 100% and is still plugged in but now shows the battery at 98%. How is this possible when it's plugged in to the charger and the green light is on?
The system regularly lets the battery drop to about 95% when on the charger, then recharges to 100%. This lets the batery exercise "just a little" all of the time and saves the recharge curcuits from overuse.
Regualr occurence for me.
Also ... you need to let your battery work at least once per month. Let it run down to 40%, but not less if you can at all avoid it. Running thr battery fully dead will shorten the battery life significantly. -
Just bought an iPhone 5s, as I turned on the phone it showed 71% of battery, I drained it to 15% and next charged it for 3 and a half hours to fully charge. Did I do any mistake ? Should have I let it to get discharged in order to fully charge it ? Somebody told me I should have let it discharged and then to fully charge, but I didn't do it, my iphone is working very well, the battery too but I'm worried if the battery lifespan is gonna get worsen soon if I didn't abide by the rules and procedures of battery charging.
I had problems on my previous iPhone 4s, it died because I didn't replaced the battery with a new one because my battery never worked well and I never knew it , the battery used to overheat my iPhone and it caused to damage my processor completely to death. Who does the replacement of the iphone processor? I need help how to maintain with the iphone battery. And also let me know if I did something wrong that I should get worried about or not ?!?!Apple does not fix the iPhone 4S, they replace the phone. If not covered by warranty, called an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $199. Make an appointment at any Apple store.
Be aware, Apple does not sell iPhone parts, thus there is no legitimate source for genuine parts. -
SQL Server Source and Flat File Target in OWB
Hello All,
I have a question, is it possible to have SQL Server as Source and Flat File as Target without using any intermediate Oracle table(s).
like
SQL Server --> ETL Operators --> Flat file?
as i m getting errors in data type conversions here. but if i replace flat file with Oracle table it works fine. (though i have used some conversion functions for data types as well in Flat file loading but it is giving me errors)
Thanks in advance.
TayyebYes this should be fine. Are you using the gateway to access SQLServer or code template mappings? You need to track which columns are throwing the data type conversion errors.
Cheers

My iPhone 4 quit charging correctly. It does charge but very slowly and icon doesn't indicate it as charging. I've checked cables and charges and the problem is definetily with the phone. My car stereo no longer recognizes it as a device. Neither does the computer. The real strange thing to me is that when I plug it into my old klispch speaker dock it will play songs. My battery life is good when it is charged so I don't think its the battery. I've tried resetting the phone and cleaning the charging port. I'm out of warranty.
Would disconnecting the battery possibly reset it from some glitch or is the charging port got some bad contacts?I checked with the Genius Bar. It was a new dilema to the lady that was helping me. She took it to a back room and worked on it but it came out the same. She gave me some options for repair or credit for replacement.
I just kept the phone and put up with slowly charging it by plugging it in and then turning it off.
I couldn't transfer anything from itunes.
I finally got fed up and bought a new charging port for $10. and a toolkit for $3. I looked up a video on youTube for the replacement and did it.
That solved all the problems, it was the charging port, must have been some bad pins or something because it patially worked. -
My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100 % and will shut down itself. Then I need to off the power and let it cool down first before I can on the phone back. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.
Hi Limfromsi,
It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. For more information about iPhones and temperature, you may find the following article helpful:

If you continue to have issues with your iPhone in the default config (no case, using the included original cable and power adapter), you may want to have your phone evaluated for service. The following page may be of use:

After trying to download ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes. Sometimes, screen will switch from Apple logo to low battery notification, but doesn't look as if battery is charging.
Connect with cable to computer. Your ipad is in recovery mode.

My ipad 3 suddenly stopped charging last week. I've tried different adapters, to no avail. I didn't drop it or spill anything on it. I don't have tons of apps, so plenty of memory. My husband took it to the Apple store for me and they tried charging it too even though I knew that wasn't the problem and then said it wasn't working (no kidding) and then told him it would be $300 to replace. Seeing as I've only had it for a year and a half and it cost more than twice that to begin with, I'm a little ticked that it stops charging, a problem I know is very common according the all the message boards and they want to charge me $300. I've always heard that Apple was so good to it's customers, but my iphone has been a nightmare, and now my ipad won't charge. Also, I've tried the reset options I've read about and none worked. Sorry, just really upset. I thought I was paying all this money for better quality and now I feel foolish for having done so. Anybody with any ideas I, or the genius at Apple haven't thought of? Help is appreciated. Thanks.
May be some help on one of these links.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. After uploading our phones with the latest update, we have noticed that the battery life has deminished considerably. I now have to charge my phone overnight and two or three times a day. Prior to the update, my battery life lasted me at least a full day. We have several phones in our office and the ones that have updated (4) now have issue holding a charge/battery life. I really liked this phone and can not believe that you are now going to charge us $79 a battery to fix what is most definately a problem with your latest update. I know other people outside of our company that are having the same problem. Not to mention when I called AT&T it was confirmed to me that they are hearing the same issue and then some from other customers as well. Your own people, once I talked to them earlier today, told me they are showing a history of issues that are showing up after the update was put in place. Of course she tried to say, "Maybe the age of the battery and the update both contributed". Whatever.
I want you all to know how disappointed I am in your company for the handling of this issue. I always thought "Apple" was the line I didn't have to worry about having any types of issue. And that you all would stand behined your product 100%. Now I am not so sure.
I would love to hear back from your company on how you perceive the issue with all of these phones that prior to the update didn't have any issues and how after the update THEY ARE NOW having issues. I do not believe this was an issue due to the age of a battery and that was pretty lame to say so. It was fine and now its not.
Please feel free to contact me and help me figure out a way to pay for all of the batteries that will be needed for our company to contiue doing business as needed.
Thank you.
