Chart Properties on IR Reports

We are dynamically adding measure values to X and Y axes of a scatter chart. This happens on the ON Process button in the dashboard. Say the X axis was X_Sales measure value and the Y axis was Y_Sales value the first time. Hitting the process button the second time is changing the Legend to X_Sales2 and Y_Sales2. The third time to X_Sales3 and Y_Sales3 so on and so forth.
Could this be a bug within IR. Also, is there a way to dynamically change the Legend of a Chart.

I've seen this behavior and I would consider this a bug.
I am assuming you have scripting that is deleting and recreating columns in a query.
If you were doing this manually, deleting an item (ColA) from the request line, creating one with the same name (ColA), then clicking on process results in the old column (ColA) being removed from the results and being replaced with the new column (ColA2).
The work-around is to process the query twice. Delete ColA, create ColB, process, rename ColB to ColA, process.
Another work-around would be to just redefine ColA rather than deleting it.

Labels pointing to pie slices with lines (or how 2 set chart properties in code behind)

I want to be able to create lines outside of my pie chart with labels and have those lines drawn to connect to the pie chart. I saw that this can be done in code behind in the following thread:

But my problem is I never declared an instance of my chart when I am using my code behind. My code that makes the reports visible is basically (but not completely) the following:

So how do I set chart properties for my report given the above code? As long as I can set my chart properties with the above code, I should be able to get this to work given the above thread and the link to the Label-Outside-of-Pie and Line-Color properties

Based on your description, you want to design a
pie chart with outside lables and pie line inside a .rdlc report. If so, you can add the Chart report item into the report after open a client report definition (.rdlc) file in graphical design mode. And then Set the
PieLabelStyle property and PieLineColor property. Please refer to the following screen shot:

Chart Web server control. As pre my undersntand, you cannot reference a Web server control inside .rdlc file.

how to add formula field for a chartobject, i tried the following code but returns invalid condition field.
i want to show different chart in same crystal report viewer with different coursestatus values.
please suggest where ia m wrong.

now it works......

Gantt Chart in Project Status Report

Hi Folks,
We are doing a custom development and creating our own Project Status Report PDF form. Is there a way (standard FM or otherwise) to generate a Gantt chart and show it on the PDF form.
The Gantt chart itself is not of the whole project structure. It is only the phases. Most projects will have 4-5 phases maximum. The Gantt chart also does not need to be too sophisticated, we just need a high level graphical representation of the phase timelines.

Hello Lashan,
Building the Gantt chart in a PDF report is quite tricky. The Gantt chart view you see in cProjects is a different SAP component, JGantt (developed in Java), which is connected to the system.
Adobe forms don't have a standard Gantt element, so you'll have to render it somewhere else and send it to the form in a binary format.
For creating and rendering the graphic you can use the SAP IGS (Internet Graphics Service).

This is a little bit more complicated, you also need to use iXML libraries to transform all the Gantt data into the IGS required format.
The end result will not really look like the Gantt view, but it will contain all necessary information:

I want to add chart in pdf file. I used Jfreechart and all done.
Now i want to move further, i want to add flash chart instead of simple chart in pdf report file.
I searched on net and found "AlivePDF", i want to know is there any other possible way to add flash chart in a pdf report file.
Also sample code is most welcome.

How to add multiple graphs in one chart(ex.scatter chart) using labview excel report generation toolkit. Assume like my test data is like below:

The above graph generated manually in excel. I want to generate the same using excel report generation toolkit. when I use Excel Insert Graph.vi where the input data is 2D array with numeric data but here labview converts the empty cells (eg.x -axis 1,data1- is empty) as zero and while plotting i am getting zero for empty cell values.
Can anyone please help me on how to plot the graph without adding zero for empty cells?

Hi Bharathi,
The Excel Insert graph function takes in only 2d arrays as inputs. Since arrays can only have numeric values, any table with a null string is read as 0. Now to get a plot like you mentioned, you could read the table and replace blank Strings as NaN. NaN values in an array when plotted do not appear in the excel sheet. For reference I have attached a sample vi to help you understand.

Restricting chart records according to Report no. of Records per page

I am calling a column chart from Report using custom Query and I am mapping the Chart Column property in Report respectively to the chart.
The Repeating frame with respect to the Reports Records 'Max. records property' is set to 2. Hence the chart and the Report records are on the 3 pages as the Total records are 6.
But the chart is plotting all the 6 records even though the Report populates only 2 records per page. I require it to plot only respective records of the Report for that page in the chart not all the 6 records.
Pl. let me know how to Proceed

Pagination settings have always been cached for the duration of the session. After changing the rows per page value in the report attributes, either log out, restart the brower, and log in again, or manually re-request the page from the browser address bar, adding 'RP' in the ClearCache position in the URL.

Analyzer Chart Properties and Speedsheet Properties

Hyperion' Analyzer Release 5.0.3if I remove 3D in the Chart Properties, and change the properties of Speedsheet, it is all right in the Analyzer tool, but it displays default properties when I call it on the java client web.It only can keep Chart properties or Speedsheet properties on the java client web, not both.What can I do to resolve the problem? It's a pretty open-ended question, because a number of things can be causing slow performance. You mention needing to look at ODBC connection performance - I found that using ODBC drivers for iSeries was very slow in the past. You might want to look at using the JDBC driver in the IBM JTOpen Toolkit - it made a big difference for us when we were querying iSeries in the past.
When you refer to "reports" in this thread's title, do you mean reports from ColdFusion Report Builder? Or to just ColdFusion .cfm pages? How complex are these reports? How much information is displayed, especially in tabular form? Just rendering huge HTML tables (as in thousands of rows of data) will often cause browsers to become temporarily unresponsive or hang. If you provide more details, we might better be able to target where the "pain point" really is.

How to copy report properties into another report?

I have created one updated list report and I wanted to create another updated list report with same report properties of first one but with different data objects so I don't have to redo properties settings.
I copied first report to another name and I tried to change data objects but It didn't allow me to choose different data object. It says "Data object must contain at least the same fields as in the Original Data object".
Do I have to create another report from scratch?

You could edit the report xml.

How to get keydate properties in the report.

Dear Experts,
One of my query have a Keydate Properties which promote users when refreshing data.
And then in the report, when I try to use function UserResponse("dp.kd.value") to get the value of this date, the result is a nubmer such as "124908480000" but what I input is "2009-08-01".
So how can I get the result the same as what I input(2009-08-01) ?
