Chart View text problem

I have Pie Chart with legend text. This legend contains Unicode text.
To display my uncode text,i have converted my font (SylfaenARM) via CordaFontConverter.exe file and then i edited
OracleBI_HOME\web\config\chartfontmapping.xml and OracleBI_HOME\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin\ pie.pcxml files.
The result is that i can see my legend text, but the problem is that text cuts off by some characters from the end. This problem occures only for the newly added font. For other fonts everything goes ok.
I tried to increase value of TRUNCATE but it doesn't work.
The same problem occures for line chart axis labels, BUT not for TITLE labels, if i specify Title Label manually, it works just fine.

May be I configured chartfontmapping.xml and pie.pcxml files incorrectly?

BiDi Text in Presentation Chart View

I have a problem with viewing any text which is supposed to be right-to-left (I use Hebrew) in the chart view (which is built in flash).
Every Hebrew text i have there (table data, column names etc) is reversed and I can't get it to show the correct way. On the text tables the text views the right way.
I'm using BI 10.1.3.4 (btw does it have an alias?) and on the viewing computer I've got flash 8, maybe it has something to do with it. I also tried setting the NLS_LANG environment variable on the host computer to a Hebrew string, but that didn't change anything.
Does anyone have any clue to what i can do with this?

In the OracleBIData\web\config\instanceconfig.xml file a setting needs to be added like this:

Chart and text items are not synchron

hi all,
i am a newbie in apex 4.0.
i have two regions. the first shows a chart, based on pl/sql-code. second shows text items for possible filter an the current statement of the chart.
when user clicks on a bar in the chart then
1. i set the the first text item as filter,
2. a pl/sql-code runs, build a sql statement, assign the sql statement string to the second text item and
3. returns the statement for the chart.
it works fine. the chart refresh. and the data i can see are correct.
but the text items in the other region doesn't refresh.
when i press "refresh"-button at browser level everything is fine. chart and text items fits together.
what can I do to refresh all regions when the chart changes the sql-statment / User clicks?
Is there any way to read out the current statement of a chart?

Bernd: the reason I asked about views is that you don't have any error messages. This might indicate that (a) you have no items in the view, or (b) there's something wrong with view-role-user assignment.
To check for (a), please go to the published procurement catalog, and go to Views tab. Check that your View is Active. Click on your View ID link to display view details. You should see a list of characteristics assigned to your view in Assign Characteristics sub-tab (the list should not be blank!). Go to Assign Items sub-tab. Navigate in your schema to find items that are supposed to be assigned to your view. You should see "Yes" in the "Assigned" column for those products. If you don't, then you simply don't have any items in your view.
Another thing I'd like you to check: when the user calls your procurement catalog for search, do you see the name of the catalog displayed just below the drop-down "Select Categories Hierarchically"?

Area Chart View in OBIEE 10 g

I have a Area chart view which shows sales volume by Product by Time. Time Dimension is plotted on X axis and Product is used as Legends (Measure Labels in Pivot Table Chart View). The Problem is user wants to display the Legends as Data Labels on Rollover. Right now when we roll over we will see Sales Volume. Is there any work around for this?

Drill in place should work. Because that is the purpose of it. Try one thing- Keep one single report in the section and give drill in place and check.
If this is not working then you need to create a separate page and give navigation to that page, so that the report appears to be in the same page.

Really just an issue with the number iWorks page on the website.

it's not quite done..some of the buttons dun have actions to preforme..but any who....when i try to readt the in the text from the text field "field" it's doesen't seem to work...alsoseting the text after the "enter" button has been pressed....i've look apon this for a while and needed someone else to look at it :S:S
note* is there any alternative to the (field name).setText?...instead if setting it to just add the text?

I'm working in SD 16:9 PAl. If you're working totally in HD and have used the correct presets, it should all be practically automatic.
You say “the proportions of the Live type picture are correct but it still does not fill the screen”. What screen? How are you viewing the problem? The canvas in LT? The canvas in FCE? External TV monitor? What version of FCE? What version of LT?
Which texture? Have you selected a PAL or HD texture? Are you shooting HD or SD? Are you trying to mix formats?
I would like to suggest a couple of things for your future (and current) posts. Add some info to your profile regarding your Mac (more detail), QT version, drives, software versions, etc. It may help us in figuring out much quicker possible solutions to your problem.
Keep trying, and post back if no success.

Chart Legenditem text overlap

I create a line-chart mit 7 series. The title of the series is 20 Char, for example "Cloppenburg/Emsland". In the legend of the chart the text overlap. In the example overlap text 4 text 1
Legend:

Can I write the text one below the other? For Example:

Or can I handle the transform-parameter. When I manual alter the first value from translate(120,18) to translate (200,18) then the legend look right.

I have created a work-around to my problem by setting all y-axes precision to zero, then setting each y-axis visible/invisible, then resetting the original precision of each y-axis.

I want to customize existing gantt chart view in PWA to allow text labelling on task/milestone names,numberic dispaly of percentage complete,scroll to date functionality.

Hi Shaik Sufiyan,
If you know a little java scripting skill, you can definitely do this. You can use IE developer tools to grab the appropriate js file which controls the font.
Task color can be controlled from server settings -> Manage gantt view.

Yeah check on the phone. You can't get a transcript without a court order.

I'm in the middle of a text animation design treatment and unless my memory is completely failing I thought this was an option.
An example would be selecting all layers and being able to see all bounding boxes and animation paths while moving along the timeline.
Of course this could be quite a mess if you couldn't selectively chose which layers, its just with this current project it would be so helpful if
I could see the text beyond the canvas to aid in my animations.

I do understand shift + v " to "Show Full View Area" and shift + z to fill screen, etc.
and command + & - for zooming
what I'd like to do is selectively view, say, the text outside of the canvas as you can see the bounding box
which contains the text or object when selecting one or all layers in the layers column
I haven't used this feature in a while though I do recall using it in the past.
Any help would greatly appreciated

How to change colors of columns in a chart view

Hi experts,
I've a chart view which chart type is column. I have put 3 data series and I want to change the colors of them.
By default, the 3 columns are displayed in blue, green and yellow and I wish put them in green, orange, and red. Is it possible?
I've tried to change the color scheme but I have only 3 propositions (Straight, Reverse and Snake) that not correspond to my wish.
Any idea?

Lines around type and other type/text problems in Dreamweaver CS3

Good news/bad news,
First the good news…
My thanks to a forum member by the name of Mylenium. With Mylenium's advice I have improved my halo problem by including a black background when I save type in Illustrator CS3 as part of importing it into Dreamweaver CS3.
However, the bad news, is that I’m still having type and text problems.
Problem area 1
Now, in Dreamweaver, I’m getting lines appearing around the type.
I am dragging and dropping the .gif type file into a Dreamweaver Div Tag.
How do I get rid of the lines around the type so that they do not show up in the Safari browser?

Problem area 2
I cannot drag and drop text from a Word .doc file into a Dreamweaver div tag.
I also cannot copy and paste Word .doc text into a div tag.
How do I include text on my webpage without having to manually type it in?

From within Dreamweaver CS3, how do I place text? Dragging and droppign the file does not work.
This is screenshot of what I see so far when I use Safari to test what I have made so far in Dreamweaver CS3.
I get lines around type.........not usually a good thing.........How do I fix it?
The way I created the portfolio type in IllustratorCS3 using the File > Save for Web and Devices. I then imported the resulting .gif file so that it was within my root folder within the Files panel within Dreamweaver CS3.
Am I doing this right?

The problems you are experiencing with the image text, (why are you using image text, these days?) is probably cause by the image having a border when created in illustrator, or the image size being set incorrectly.
As for the word text if you are using windows, see http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/9.0/help.html?content=WSc78c5058ca073340dcda91 10b1f693f21-7ce6.html.
On the mac it is a little more complex, save your word doc as html, then apply the 'clean up word html files', (see - http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/9.0/help.html?content=WSc78c5058ca073340dcda91 10b1f693f21-7ef5.html) copy the relevant text and mark-up from the word html file, and paste into your html document in the required position.
