Check for optional dependencies when installing package

When pacman installs a package is lists Optional Dependencies when applicable. Is there any way to get it to check whether they are installed or are there plans to get it to do so?

It sounds like you are unable to download the iOS 8.0.2 update either, over the air, or using iTunes. If you are updating the software on your phone in Settings > General > software update I would recommend starting with this article:

If you are using iTunes, I would use this article instead:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes
If you are getting a specific error number, the following article will help you get that resolved:

You should not get that message if you are simply trying to load the shuffle with songs from your iTunes library. If iTunes is trying to Update or Restore the shuffle, and you get that message, try the suggestions in this article

Checking for storage location when picking

Hi all,
I'm trying to put some code in the picking requirement to check whether user enters a storage location when they pick via program LV07A111.
the storage location is in table LIPS (item table), however, this table is not populated at all. Do you know why LIKP (header table) is populated, but not LIPS? If LIPS is not populated, do you know of another table where I can check for the storage location after picking?

[S0LVED] D-BUS issue when installing packages...

I'm getting this error when I install some packages (such as gstreamer)...
(gconftool-2:2138): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the
D-BUS daemon:
Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application
did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply,
the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
How do I fix this problem? Does this error indicate that the installed package isn't going to function properly unless I take extra steps?

N97 - Prompt for memory location when installing a...

Hi,
When installing applications on my previous N95 / N73 the installer would prompt me to make a decision on whether I wanted to install the application to the Phone or Mass Memory.
My N97 appears to automatically make this decision for me, and from what I can tell appears to be defaulting to the Phone Memory.
Is there a way to make the N97 prompt for the location like the N95?

Disabling UAC does not fix the problem. UAC is there for a reason. Disabling it just stops the prompt which results in an installation failure (Access is denied). Its like sticking gum in a lock because you don't like putting your key in it everytime
you want to open the door. The gum does solve the problem of not having to put the key in but the result is that you are no longer able to open the door.
The idea of IPP is that anyone can install a printer without having admin rights from any internet connected location. Its shouldn't be difficult to install. It certainly appears that the issue I am having has to do with differences in the OS
somewhere between 2003 and 2008. Maybe even the version of IPP that is built into each OS version. I'm just hoping someone an confirm this theory. If it doesn't work right in 2003 then at least I know and I can stop wasting my time figuring
out why it doesn't work.
I should probably also mention that our clients are Windows 7. Its possible that the combination of Windows Server 2003 and Windows 7 is where the problem comes in. When I get time I will try to load up a Windows XP machine and see if the results
are different.

since you've seen this before....did you have a problem doing "Estimate Levels" when you had measures in the hierarchy (usually they get there when you select a level for measure in its settings). I suspect the problem is in the measure - using FILTER function which references the dimension.

How to check for Optional Oracle 10gR2 components installed?

How can I get a list of all optional oracle database components/features installed (some of them may require additional license)? I was going through list of directory objects in a database and I spotted "ORACLE_OCM_CONFIG_DIR" in one of the databases (others don't have it). When I checked, it turned out to be a directory required for Oracle Configuration Manager (this may even be a totally separate install).
I have to configure a new oracle database server where I have to install whatever is installed on an existing one.
Oracle 10gR2 - RHEL 5.8

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise. I want to upgrade to a newer version of itunes. I click on help then click on check for upgrades. When I try to upgrade/install the upgrade for itunes it loads 52MB of the required 56MB and then just freezes ?

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise.
I need to upgrade my version of Itunes from version 7 to version 10 or 11.
I go to Help and click on Search for Upgrades.
I then select Upgrade Itunes.
The system starts to upgrade and download the new software.
It gets to 52.60 MB of 56 MB and then it just freezes / sticks and does not go any further ?
I have tried to upgrade on a number of occasions but the same thing happens each time.
Any help please ?

[SOLVED] Files corrupted when installing packages

I've been using arch for about six months now, I like it very much but I've run into a problem. I suspect it could be that coming from Ubuntu, I'm not used to Arch's "rolling release" approach and I've let things get out of date, but I'd like to have that confirmed before I update my whole system.
I am having trouble installing the apache web server, specifically the download seems to go OK but then pacman says the files are corrupt :

I got a similar result a couple of days ago when trying to install 'gdb'. I tried making http://mirror.rit.edu/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch the first server in my mirrorlist file, but no change. I'm wondering if maybe my version of arch is just outdated and I need to upgrade with 'pacman -Syu' ? Currently uname -a shows "Linux bigsalad 3.18.5-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jan 30 07:31:50 CET 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux". As far as I can see, it's either that I'm out of date, or for some random reason the two packages I've happened to try in the last few days have issues. If it's the latter, I'd rather not over react with "pacman -Syu".
Anyone have any thoughts? This is my first post here so apologies in advance if it isn't quite right.

OK, now I'm super confused.
I tried both "pacman-key --refresh-keys", and after that failed, "pacman -Syu". Neither worked. The full output from refreshing the keys is below :

Not being very experienced with keys, I didn't pursue that further.

Please help!!! My arch systems have been running fine, but I don't seem to be able to upgrade, which seems to be a requisite for installing new packages? I'm lost!!

Prompted for License code when install Acrobat wit CCP

We have got Creative Cloud for teams and use CCP to make packages to distribute this software on our PC's. When I install only Adobe Acrobat this way, I am prompted for a license code or 30-day trial when I try to start the application. However, when I install Photoshop on the same machine, then start Photoshop and log on to Creative Cloud, I can use both products without any problem. How is this possible? I would very much like to install only Acrobat and no other Adobe products on some of our PC's to reduce the footprint.

I am assuming that you are running the AcroPro.msi within the AcrobatProfessional folder from the Exceptions folder. Please use the Exception Deployer to install Acrobat XI pro and then it wont ask you to provide any serial no. Once the installation completes then use your Adobe ID to activate the same.

Suggestion for bauerbill/powerpill (list installed packages on -Ss)

This is targetted towards Xyne but posted here so others can add/criticize.
I propose that on -Ss bauerbill/powerpill should indicate if a package is already installed, and perhaps compare version numbers. Shamelessly copied from yaourt, but I loved that feature.
Similarly, when an upgrade is detected on the AUR the version numbers should be indicated (currently I have to 'v' to see the version and perhaps open another tab to see my current version. I'm forgetful, sue me).
OFF-TOPIC: Where should a topic like this go, asking about a community contribution? Shouldn't be a NEW thread in 'community contributions', for sure, and adding to a 16/17 page thread (which is mostly bug reports) seems a bit sub-optimal?

Yeah, that's because I have to parse the output of the pacman binary to insert the installation status for Bauerbill. The color is stripped when capturing the output. That whole area of the code is a bit of a kludge. I have plans to fix it, but they will require a lot of time to implement the way that I have in mind.
Powerpill doesn't bother with the parsing which is why you get the raw colored output.

Check for duplicate BP when registering

for those of you who have implemented ROS scenario, can you please help me!
currently I've been asked by the client the following thing:
When a potential supplier fill's in all the necessary info on the ROS page, after presing the SEND button, my client want's me to check if this supplier already exists in our system as a BP.
Is it already some standard service for this or something?
I am very new to SRM and I would appreciate any help?

We are using the WebDynpro component for ROS application, and now I am trying to figure out how to acces the info which a suppliers fills in, in order to compare it with the records in tabel BUT000.
the client asked me to have this duplicate check by the DUNNS number, which the supplier fills in at registration.
so now i can figure out how to access this dunns number and to check it with the one in BUT000.
do you have any ideea?
