Check into UCM and have IPM recognize document

The IPM component in WebCenter Content 11g creates profiles when I create IPM applications. If I check in a doument into UCM using one of these profiles, I can search for the document via IPM and find it. My quesiton is, is there any difference between importing a document or checking in a document directly into IPM vs. checking the document into UCM with the appropriate IPM profile?

When you check in document from IPM, the associated BPEL gets invoked (if configured) however in case you check in though UCM it will not invoke the BPEL.
If you have a scenario where no BPEL is associated, there will not be a difference.

All of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes it the checkbox next to sync apps is UNchecked. should i check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.

I have downloaded the new update for Firefox 3.6 and now cannot connect to the internet. I've checked my firewall and have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but nothing works.

After installing the new update for Firefox 3.6, no matter what I do, I cannot connect to the internet using Firefox. I can get on the internet using my other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), so Firefox is the only one that doesn't work. I have already checked my firewall and have added and removed Firefox from my firewall to no avail. I've also already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but so far it hasn't helped.

I have already tried removing firefox from my firewall. Even when I do that, my firewall doesn't detect firefox and prompt me to add it. And when I manually add it, it still doesn't work anyways. I've already tried the link as well, but it has been unhelpful. :/

TS1398 loaded i06 on ipad3 and now when i connect to internet it tells me no network avalliableso i go back into settings and have to select my network puts a check by it and im good to go until the next time i try to get back online any suggestions thank

Loaded i06 on my ipad3 and when i try to connect to internet gives me a message that a network can't be found. I have to go back into settings and select my network and i'm good to go as long as i stay on iPad it's good. How do i get my netwokk to stay checked so i don't have to keep resetting it? Never had an issue before update.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

iPhones that use the ARM chips (2g + 3g) are VERY slow to boot. Sometimes in excess of 1 minute 30 seconds (personal experiece). Go to /Library/Preferences.
Move the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file to the Trash.

I had to refresh my computer; LR was removed. How do I re-install and have it recognize all my files that have already been imported through LR?

My computer's main files became corrupted and I had to "refresh" the system. It kept my files, but erased all of the programs. I had to even re-install Microsoft Word. So it erased my downloaded Lightroom as well.
However, all of my files are still on the computer, including the file labeled "Lightroom 5 Catalog" and 2 others like it.
My question is, how do I go about getting the program BACK onto my computer and having the program recognize that all of the pictures currently in my "Library/Pictures" folder have at one point already been imported through LR? I don't really even know what I'm talking about; I am not super techy. Maybe if I download it again it will already recognize all the files? I just want to move cautiously because I'm dealing with all the pictures of my 4 year old daughter who died last year.

Yes, the files are still located in the same drive, the exact same place Lightroom put them (in Pictures in Library).
When I double-click on the catalog file, it opens up multiple folders with little white "document-looking" blank pages, and when I click on those, it open a dialog box that says "How do you want to open this type of a file (.Ircat)?" with a little box below that says "Look for an app in the store".
So I don't think my computer knows how to open them...I think I need to re-download Lightroom. I just want to make sure I'm not going to mess up the files.

Is there any way to paste formatted text into muse, and have it stay formatted?

I have a client who sends material to me with intricate formatting (italics and bold only) for posting on the website. Is there any way to avoid losing that formatting when I paste it into Muse? If not, I have several hours of work to format everything all over again, every time he sends an update? Any suggestions?

Ok, so I have figured out how to do this. For those of us who have a large amount of formatted text to paste on a website, but don't want to have to take the time to format every individual word or line, the solution is to embed the following html code:
<iframe src="filename.html" width="600" height="300" scrolling="yes"></iframe>
and replace "filename.html" with a the name of a plain html document created from some other software where you can paste formatted text. Muse will pick up the html document as an included file in a window with a scrollbar. It's actually pretty slick.

How to allow non-text page into TOC and have it export to ePub?

I've got an InDesign book file with several document files added as "chapters." One of these files is the title page of the book, which is composed entirely of graphic images (i.e. there is no text on the page).
I want this page to be visible in the table of contents when exported for Kindle and/or ePub, but I can't for the life of me figure this out.
I've tried creating a layer on the title page and adding "Title Page" text to it and applying the correct TOC style. This gets the page on the TOC, but the "Title Page" text is visible. I've tried turning off "Print Layer" and "Show Layer" for this layer, but the text is still visible on the page when exported.
Any ideas?
I'm beginning to think that I'm going to have to edit the TOC manually after it's exported, but I was trying to avoid this.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried what you suggested in #1. In short, I:
Created a style called Chapter Number Invisible based on my Chapter Header style, which is a TOC style.
I made one change to this by making the color "Paper."
I then added the text, "Title Page" to the title page and applied the style.
Unfortunately, I don't think that Kindle export handles white or non-colored text, and thus, I still get the text showing on the page after export.
Unless I'm doing something wrong, it looks like I'm going to have to edit the TOC manually, which is a pain.

I can no longer see my tabs on my browser. I have checked the settings and have it set to show them but I still do not see them anywhere. Help plz?

When I have numerous tabs open I used to be able to see them along my browser border. My daughter pounded on my keyboard and now I can no longer see my tabs but I know they are there because when I go to close the browser it warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs. Anyone know any tricks to make them reappear?

I just purchased a new computer and want to synch my iPod. My music (including iTunes purchases and my personal CD rips) is located on a WD portable hard drive. What do I do to synch my iPod and have it recognize the music on the WD drive ?

All my music (including iTunes purchases and personal music CD rips) is on a WD portable hard drive. What are the steps to take to synch my existing iPod with my new laptop and get all the music ?

Import the music on the external HD into iTunes. If you don't want iTunes to make a new copy of each track that is stored in your iTunes Media folder on your PC's internal HD, make sure the Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library option is NOT ticked from under the Advanced tab of iTunes Preferences. Just remember that if you go this route, you'll always need to have your external HD plugged in before you start up iTunes.

It's OK, don't worry about it.
I assumed before that you don't know the password that you used. If that's not the case, then you can simply go back to File - Properties - Security and remove the security policy by setting it to "No Security" and entering the password when prompted. Then save the file and re-open it.

How do you move just your movies and tv shows to an external hard drive and have iTunes recognize that that is where that media is (keeping music on the internal hard drive itself and putting only movies and tv shows on an external hard drive)?

While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes. Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located.
