Check Point VPN-1 with E71

Hi, Im trying to setup VPN between Check Point VPN-1 R65 gateway and Nokia E71 device. I am using Nokia Policy tool which should generate a policy for the device. The policy includes user's certificate which is loaded via policy tool.
My p12 certificate is generated by Check Point internal CA, but when Im trying to load the policy on the device, it fails with the error message "user certificate is not found".
I converted Check Point p12 certificate into PFX certificate using Microsoft CAPI import/export. The output is a certificate which can be loaded into the device, however something happended with the signature and Check Point gateway refuses to communicate (error: invalid signature "empty")
Any clues ?
Thanks

The CheckPoint VPN-1 Secure Client software is only compatible with Mac OS v 10.3 (Panther). I had the same issue and am waiting for CheckPoint to update the software.

  • Check Point VPN and local wireless network

    I need to use Check Point VPN to access a client's remote network. Now I cannot access my wireless printer or AirPort base station, even when I have disconnected and shutdown the Check Point client. I have removed the Check Point startup items from LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons in order to restart without Check Point loading at start up.
    When I start in Safe Boot I can access the printer, but not with a normal start up. How can I find the other startup items that are interfering with my local wireless network?
    Am running Mountain Lion.

    Thanks for the reply.
    I found an installer in the Library as suggested.
    The installer did not install successfully.
    I trashed the installer, repaired permissions, downloaded the software again and was able to install successfully.
    I will not be able to test the connection until I am off the network but I am better off.

  • L2TP over IPSEC to Check Point VPN-1 Power R62

    Does anyone succeded in setting up such scenario??
    I have ICA (Check Point build-in CA) root certificate and user certificate (both works on XP Pro) to my Keychains but when I try to use Certificate authentication from my 10.4.9 Internet Assistant -> VPN (L2TP) it says:
    "Certificate authentication cannot be used used because your keychain does not contain any suitable certificate."
    The truth certificates are in place and are valid. The usage field of the certificates states (2 5 29 15). Does anyone tried to face similar problem???
    Check Point VPN-1 is quite common in the firewall and VPN market and this is a little bit of a shame that its interoperability with built-in VPN client was not test by Apple

    No one?  I'd be happy to provide any more info if someone needs it, i'm just looking for some sort of direction.   I did almost this whole config by myself and i'm completely self-taught Cisco, so weird things like this really through me.
    Please help.  Thank you

  • Check Point VPN

    I successfully installed Check Point VPN software and was able to connect but the policy update hung up.
    I elected to uninstall via the uninstaller option in the application.
    The uninstaller hung up but seemed to uninstall. The menu bar icon disappeared.
    I have been unable to reinstall the software from a new download. The installer seems to run successfully but no application appears in the Applications folder after rebooting.
    Any suggestions as to what might prevent reinstall?

  • Check Point VPN-1 Securemote service causes Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion

    Has anyone ever managed to solve this one?
    We have a problem on Windows 7 SP1 32bit systems.
    when we try to start the Check Point VPN-1 Securemote service we get this message:
    Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion
    When we install a clean Windows 7 from an ISO the checkpoint client without any issues
    when we use the same Windows Setup source and install it from SCCM TS - the CheckPoint client doesn't start
    the client we're installing is : CP_SeucRemoteSecureClient_NGX_R30_HFA3
    which is supported for Win7 x86
    other than that there are no special prerequisites for the CheckPoint client. therefore we know the problem is local :/
    we tried to isolate and minimize the cause of the issues by trying to see the differences between a clean installation from ISO and a clean installation from SCCM
    We know for sure the problem is not from SCCM Client, Programs and Features, Updates, Group Policy
    it seems like the configuration is the same but we can't seem to find any online solution about this issue
    any suggestions?

  • How to achieve Check point functionality in SSIS with out using check point.

    I got question from
    interview!!! How
    to achieve Check
    point functionality in SSIS with out using check point. If package
    fails it has to be re-run from the point that it failed instead
    of rerunning the entire package.without
    using check point.
    Please
    any one can explain step by step...

    Sorry you have failed your interview question. Good thing you remembered it, thought about it, and ask a question about it. The solution is actually very straightforward.
    Create a table to store the state of your progress. Before each step read the table to find out where left off, then skip each completed step. After each step write to the table which step you have completed. A step can be anything, a task, a component,
    a row, an import file, an export file. You don't have to use a table, it could also be a file, just something you can read and write, and does not disappear when your package stops.
    If you find this difficult to comprehend, think of a checklist of things you do everyday and work from there.

  • Design Help with MPLS/BGP and Point to Point VPNs using OSPF as backup

    I need some advice on the configuration I want to implement. Basically we have a MPLS cloud using BGP. We are using OSPF for internal routing. Everything is working fine. Now we want to add a Point to Point VPN using new Cisco ASA's for a backup path at all of our remote locations. We want it to be on standby. I want to use OSPF for this. Miami and LA are datacenters. I want the VPN's to go into both datacenters if possible running OSPF for backups. I have a feeling this will be very tricky. I also wanted to use floating routes. Now I know I get the VPN's up and running using OSPF with no problem. Here are my questions:
    But being that I am using different areas, will OSPF through the VPN work correctly? I have the Cisco PDF on setting this up but it looks like they are using the same, AREA0, in the example.
    Can I get both VPN's to work with no problems? Or will it be too much of a pain?
    What would you guys suggest?
    Thanks.

    We are implementing the same solution, and was only able to make this work using HSRP one router for the MPLS connection and one for the VPN tunnel. I opened a TAC case and the tech couldn't get it to work either. I was able to establish the Lan-2-lan tunnel but triggering the route update was the problem. We ended up pulling our ASA5505's out and putting in 1841 routers.

  • Make a check box in LiveCycle with a personal character or image as check mark ( info to share...)

    Hello everybody,
    It makes now several weeks i go trough the different forums to find a way to make the check mark of a check box in LiveCycle with a personal color instead of the default black mark, that seems to be the only option available.
    I saw somebody else with that question, but no answer.
    So i found a work around, that make the check box really flexible.
    Here it is:
    REMEMBER that this will work only with forms saved as dynamic PDF.
    Open a new form in Livecycle.
    1) Open Library panel ( Shift+F12) and select Check Box and put it in the page with the dimension and position you like and select it.
    Open the Object panel ( Shift+F7), select field section and under Caption make it blank. Select Binding Section and under name write in ' CheckBox '. for the rest leave all the section values as they are.
    2) In Library select, in the standard section, the icon for making a text object. Put it in the page and size it to your needs and put it on the top of the CheckBox. Select it.
    In the Object Panel, Draw section and under Presence 'Visible'.
    Open the Font panel ( Shift+F4) and under font section, Font : select the Wingdings font and choose the symbol to use as the mark, under Size : the size you need, under Style: font color you like. If the result of the mark is to your feel, set the object to 'invisible'. Leave all other values as they are.
    Open the Hierarchy panel (Shift+F11), right click on the static object and rename it to ' CheckMarkModel ' .
    For information : changing the text object to an image object let's you use an image for the mark in the checkbox.
    3) In Library, select in the standard section the icon for making a Button. Put it in the page and size it to the CheckBox dimension and put it on the top of the text object. Select it. In the Object panel, under Caption : make it blank, under Appearance : select custom in the drop down list an in the dialog box that comes up set the edges to none and the
    background to none. Leave the rest as it is.
    Open the Hierarchy panel (Shift+F11), right click on the Button object and rename it to ' ClickCheckBoxButton ' .
    Now open the Script Editor (Shift+Ctrl+F5), on the left under Show : select in the list the ' Click ' event, under Language : select JavaScript, copy to the window the following script :
    if (CheckMarkOnOff.rawValue == "0")
    CheckMarkOnOff.rawValue = "1";
    CheckMarkModel.presence = "visible";
    else if (CheckMarkOnOff.rawValue == "1")
    CheckMarkModel.presence = "invisible";
    CheckMarkOnOff.rawValue = "0";
    4)Now put in the page an other Check Box, put it on the top of the Button object and select it. In the Object panel, Field section, under Caption : make it blank, under Appearance : none, under Presence : invisible, let the rest as it is. In the Value section, under Type : Read Only, under Default : Off. In the Binding section, under Name : name it CheckMarkOnOff, leave the rest as it is.
    5) So you have now four objects in the page 1. In the Hierarchy panel set each object by dragging them in
    this order :
    CheckBox
    CheckMarkModel
    ClickCheckBoxButton
    CheckMarkOnOff
    In the form select all the objects and group them. If you copy the group as many times you need you automatically will have an other Check Box, ready to work.
    So here you are with an personal Check Box.
    Don't forget to set the preview PDF to dynamic under Menu /File/Form Properties, the in the dialog box that shows up /Default tab and under the XDP Preview format : select in the list an Acrobat Dynamic form.
    REMEMBER that this will work only with forms saved as dynamic PDF.
    If somebody from Adobe could upload the sample file i made, to the forum, so that anybody can download it to his computer, would be appreciated, email me at : [email protected] .
    Regards Mike.

    I also faced this same problem and there is an actual solution but it involves modifying the xml source for the checkbox - however it is a simple modification so if your not familiar with editing the xml source don't worry about that. <br /><br />Click on the checkbox you want to modify and then click on the XML Source tab. LiveCycle will take you to that point in the XML. <br /><br />Now, scroll down until the close of the ui node( </ui> )within the checkbox field and modify the font node to look like the following:<br /><br /></ui>  -- close of UI node<br /><font typeface="Arial"><br />   <fill><br />      <color value="0,0,255"/><br />   </fill><br /></font><br /><br />This produces a checkbox with a blue check mark. <br />You can, of course, make the color any RGB number you want.<br /><br />You can then save that field in your library and reuse it anytime you want and it will always have that color checkmark. <br /><br />Good luck. <br />-Andrew

  • NET8의 LOCAL NAMING METHODS 이용관련 CHECK POINTS & TROUBLESHOOTING

    Net8의 Local Naming Methods 이용관련 Check Points & Troubleshooting
    ====================================================================
    Net8 관련 내용중 Local Naming Methods(sqlnet.ora와 tnsnames.ora
    를 이용해서 DB에 Connect하는 방법)에 관한 일반적인 Check Points 및
    Troubleshooing 사항을 정리해보도록 하겠다.
    [Client Connection : Local Naming Methods]
    1. Local Naming method resolves service names by using the local configuration files tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora.
    2. One of the benefits of the Local Naming method is that it provides a simple method for resolving service name addresses. It is easy to configure local naming by using a GUI called the Net8 Assistant. When you configure a client machine for local naming by using the Net8 Assistant, a tnsnames.ora file is generated. To configure all the other client machines on the network that need to use the same database services, you can simply copy this file to the client machines.
    3. Another benefit of using the local-naming method is that it resolves service name across networks running different protocols.
    [Local Naming : Configuration]
    1. The local-naming method resolves service names by using the information configured and stored on each individual client. Local naming is most appropriate for simple distributed networks with a small number of services that change infrequently.
    2. Local naming requires the configuration of two local files, tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora. The tnsnames.ora file contains the address needed to direct a connection request to the specified listener on the specified node by using the specified database. The sqlnet.ora file stores information about the selected naming method.
    3. Local naming is easy to configure by using the Net8 Assistant. The Net8 Assistant is implemented in Java and is packed with the Java Runtime Environment. You can run the Net8 Assistant on any platform on which Net8 is installed.
    4. When you configure an Oracle8 server to use the local-naming method for service names resolution, the client-side configuration files tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora are automatically generated. After the configuration is complete, you copy these two files from the server to the client machines.
    [Client Files : Parameters]
    1. The tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files are generated at the default location ORACLE_HOME\net80\admin.
    2. The first parameter in the tnsnames.ora file specifies the service name and the domain name for the client.
    3. The tnsnames.ora file contains a parameter called DESCRIPTION. This parameter contains information about the connect descriptor for the client.
    4. The ADDRESS parameter in the tnsnames.ora file specifies the network address of the host to which the client is connected. If multiple addresses are specified, use the keyword ADDRESS_LIST before the ADDRESS parameter.
    5. Another parameter in the tnsnames.ora file is the CONNECT_DATA parameter. This parameter specifies the SID of the database to which the client is connected.
    6. The DEFAULT_DOMAIN parameter of the sqlnet.ora file specifies the domain from which the client most often requests names. When this parameter is set, the domain name is automatically appended to the service name in a connect string.
    7. The DIRECTORY_PATH parameter is another key parameter of the sqlnet.ora file. This parameter specifies the names resolution method to be used for the client-server connection.
    8. The sqlnet.ora file also contains a parameter called DEFAULT_ZONE.
    This parameter specifies the region to which the client belongs.
    [Troubleshooting the Client Side]
    These are common client-side problems and the error messages associated with
    each error code.
    ORA-12154: "TNS: could not resolve service name"
    ORA-12198: "TNS: could not find path to destination"
    ORA-12203: "TNS: unable to connect to destination"
    ORA-12533: "TNS: illegal ADDRESS parameters"
    1. The ORA-12154 error occurs when Net8 cannot locate the connect descriptor specified in the tnsnames.ora configuration file. To solve this problem, first verify that a tnsnames.ora file exists and is accessible. Next, verify that multiple copies of the tnsnames.ora file are not present. After checking the existence of the tnsnames.ora file, verify that the service name specified in the connect string is mapped to a connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora file. Verify also that the file does not contain any syntaz errors. The ORA-12154 error also occur if there is more than one copy of the sqlnet.ora file. Verify that duplicate copies of the sqlnet.ora file are not present.
    2. The ORA-12198 and ORA-12203 errors occur when the client is unable to find the required database. To solve this problem, first verify that you have correctly entered the service name that you want to use. Next verify that the service name parameters in the ADDRESS section of the connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora file are correctly defined. Then, verify that the tnsnames.ora file is stored in the correct directory. The ORA-12198 and ORA-12203 errors can also occur if the listener on the remote node is not running. Verify that the listener on the remote node has started and is running. If the listener is not running, start the listener by using the Listener Control(LSNRCTL) utility.
    3. The ORA-12533 error occurs if the protocol-specific parameters in the ADDRESS section of the designated connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora file are incorrect. To solve this problem, use the correct protocol-specific parameters in the ADDRESS section of the connect descriptor.
    4. The ORA-12545 error occurs when the listener on the remote node cannot be contacted. This may happen if the values of the ADDRESS parameter in the tnsnames.ora file and the listener.ora file are incorrect. In this case replace the incorrect values with the correct values in both the files. The ORA-12545 error can also occur if the listener on the remote node is not
    started. To verify whether or not the listener is started, determine its status with the STATUS command of the LSNRCTL utility. If necessary, start the listener on the remote node with the START command.
