Checking against a query with CFIF

Hi everyone,
I have a small problem that I can't seem to solve no matter
how much I search.
I have a database column with values 10001, 10002, and 10003
that represent text (i.e., apple, orange, pear)
In coldfusion, I query the database for that column and then
use a CFIF statement to test for the 3 possible values. I always
end up getting a value of "Orange" and never get anything else,
although there are different values in the database.
Can anyone enlighten me? The code is attached below

OK - There is more data in the table, etc...and it is a bit
more complicated, but I did output a table and it works PERFECTLY
displaying 10001, 10002, 10003. What I need to do is convert these
values to "apple" "orange" or "pear" (or whatever) before I insert
them into the table...
so i used a CFIF statement to do that, and then output it
into the table using a seperate variable, like I said above...
so...
<cfif #getNotes.process_id# IS 10002>
<cfset fruit = "Orange">
<cfelseif #getNotes.process_id# IS 10001>
<cfset fruit = "Apple">
<cfelseif #getNotes.process_id# IS 10003>
<cfset fruit = "Pear">
</cfif>
And then:
<cftable query="getNotes" htmltable="yes" border="yes">
<cfcol text=#fruit#>
</cftable>
But it says that fruit couldnt be found....yet, I can display
the ACTUAL values like so:
<cftable query="getNotes" htmltable="yes" border="yes">
<cfcol text=#getNotes.process_id#>
</cftable>

• How to check against hierachy schema with MDM?

Hi,
I have to use SRM-MDM to load supplier catalogs for SRM. Our suppliers deliver a XML Catalog structure with classification in a format like this:
<ARTICLE_FEATURES>
<REFERENCE_FEATURE_SYSTEM_NAME>ECLASS-4.0</REFERENCE_FEATURE_SYSTEM_NAME>
<REFERENCE_FEATURE_GROUP_ID>21050101</REFERENCE_FEATURE_GROUP_ID>
or
<ARTICLE_FEATURES>
<REFERENCE_FEATURE_SYSTEM_NAME>ECLASS-5.10</REFERENCE_FEATURE_SYSTEM_NAME>
<REFERENCE_FEATURE_GROUP_ID>30020101</REFERENCE_FEATURE_GROUP_ID>
I built up 2 tables eclass40 and eclass 513 in SRM-MDM as hierarchy tables. While importing the supplier xml I what to check against the REFERENCE_FEATURE_GROUP_ID (the class number). If the number does not exist in the class system the dataset should not be load.
How can I do this?
Best regards
Roman

thank you guys for your tries - but my question is still not answered.
I will try to depict what i need in more details:
1)process A with instance id (orabpel.cube_instace.cikey) = 1 is in closed.completed status.
process A with instance id = 2 is in open.running status.
2) i redeploy process A with the same version:
process A with instance id = 1 now is in closed.stale status
process A with instance id = 2 now is in closed.stale status
question: how to query from orabpel schema instance which was not completed before it went to stale (in example above it's instance id = 2 only) = really really staled?
thanks in advance!

• Checking against Select-Options with "CP" using "IF value IN select_option"

Dear experts,
first of all: I'm sorry, if this question already should have been asked and answered!
I tried quite a lot of search terms but didn't find anything helpful.
We are using a statement like "IF value IN select_option" to perform comparisons after the Select-Options have been used in a SELECT statement. This logical expression fails (compared to the results of the DB-SELECT) whenever a select-option line contains the option CP (Contains Pattern). To be more specific: The case sensitivity of the LOW value doesn't seem to play a role any more. A variable with the value 'ABCD' would be positively checked against a select-option with OPTION 'CP' and LOW 'abc*', whereas this value wouldn't have been selected if the select-option had been used in a DB-SELECT.
Does anybody know a workaround?
Thanks in advance
Andreas

Dear Keshav,
it's an own field in an own table, defined as CHAR of length 140 (lowercase allowed), reflecting to a line of remittance info of an account statement. A regular Select-Option for this field is provided in a report which works perfectly fine regarding the case sensitivity. For reasons I don't want to point out in detail we need to check a value in this field against the select-option without selecting it from the db again.
Let's assume that a field remittance_info contains the value 'ABCD'.
A line of the select-option table looks like this:
select_option_table-SIGN = 'I'
select_option_table-OPTION = 'CP'
select_option_table-LOW = 'abc*'.
Then an ABAP statement such as
IF remittance_info IN select_option_table.
* would be true !!!
ENDIF.
but wouldn't deliver a result in a SELECT such as
SELECT * FROM my_table INTO TABLE my_internal_table WHERE remittance_info IN select_option_table.
because of the differences in lower/upper case.
regards

• Broadcast a BW 7.0 query with BW 3.5 broadcaster?

Hi Folks,
is there a trick that allows to broadcast a BW 7.0 query with the BW 3.5 broadcaster?
On the precal server BEX 3.5 / 7.0 is installed so in theory there shouldn't be an issue.
But in the BW 3.5 broadcaster I don't see BEX 7.0 queries as all (for html) nor BEX 7.0 workbooks.
As we don't have BI JAVA stack we don't have BW 7.0 broadcaster ...
Any ideas / workarounds / tricks?
Thanks,

when I executed the same query with same variant...in RSRT transaction code...I was able to see the results....
The error messages that I am getting as follows...
<Internal Error> receiving from the BW Server Failed. BW server raised exception SYSTEM_FAILURE. DO you want to see more information...
when I selected YES....I got the following message
Error in a ABAP statement when processing an Internal Table.table.

when clicked on the OK button the following message is displayed....
<Internal Error> Can not determine text elements for the current query.
Can any one explain me what went wrong...is there any thing that I need to do in the BEX settings...are there any patches that needs to be installed...or any OSS notes available for this sort of errors...?
Advance in thanks
Dilse...

Hi Harish,
Execute the query in RSRT and check whether you have any short dump is in ST22. This would give a clear idea at what might have gone wrong.
Another thing is to check whether the code for the variable is fine in the user exit.
Hope this helps.

• Auth Error in BW while executing a query with Company hierarchy

Hi All,
I have an issue in BW Reporting auth objects.. Hope to get resolved here.
We are using BI 7.0. However We are still using the Reporting auth objects for fiield level security. We are having a problem while executing a query with company code hierarchy ,which is built on a multiprovider.
The Background is as below
Multiprovider: ZM_CD01 with 5 infocubes
Query: Has 0COMP_CODE as free characteristics with display hierarchy for Japan (Node APSC_012 is fixed value)
Node APSC_012 has 4070,4076,407A,408A,9830 company code values under it.
Reporting Auth Objects:
Z0COMPCODE: (for flat values)
4070,4076,407A,408A,407M,407P,8236, :
ZHCOMPCODE: (For tree structure)
4070,4076,407A,408A,407M,407P,8080, :
APSC_MGMT_HIER (Nodes: APSC_012,APSC019)
Both the reporting authorization objects are checked for multi provider ZM_CD01 in RSSM
While executing the query the following Auth error is received.
You do not have authorization to read object "Z0COMPCODE" authorization on '0COMP_CODE'
When I change the values for Z0COMPCODE to * it works fine. No Auth error.
Please help me resolve this issue. It is very critical now as the user needs to execute some important reports.
Thanks in Advance.
Ramkumar C

Hi Chandra,
Try the following:
1. Go to tcode RSSM
2. Enter the cube ZM_CD01 (all the other cubes) then click change.
3. Afterwards, u201Cunchecku201D ALL Authorization Objects under this cube. (Repeate the same for all the cubes)
4. Click Save.
This will resolve the issue.

• Input query with dynamic actual & forecast values by month per year

Hello,
I am working on a Input ready query for a forecasting application which shows both actuals and forecast numbers and the user will revise the forecast numbers by month
Requirement: I want to build a Input query for monthly forecasting for the current year. It will be dynamic rolling of months with actuals & forecast data.
E.g. My report has 12 months for the current year
and if run the report in May, the months before May has to show the actuals and the months after May has to show the old forecast data so that the user will revise the numbers again in each month and save the data to the real time cube.
Jan.Feb.Mar.Apr.May.Jun.Jul.Aug.Sept.Nov.Dec
Act Act Act Act Act Old frcst for the remaining months
user will revise forecast for these months
So, i am able to create Input query with all restricted key figures( plan kf has change mode set to change, actual kf are not set change) and calculate key figures and all the logic is done on dynamically moving/rolling the data based on the input month of the year.
But the problem is that i am using cal kf to dynamically roll months, i was not able to set the change option for the cal kf.
So, how can i make sure that the dynamically changed plan months will open for entering forecast and the actuals months not to change?
Do you guys have any better solutions in implementing it?
I really appreciate it your input....:)
Thanks,
Srini

Hi,
Please look at the following DOC which may be useful to you and if so please grant me point.
Regards,
SUbha'
Input-Ready Query
Use
You use input-ready queries to create applications for manual planning. These can range from simple data entry scenarios to complex planning applications.
Integration
You define a query that you want to use for manual planning in the BEx Query Designer (see Defining New Queries).
In the Web Application Designer or the BEx Analyzer, you can combine the input-ready queries with other queries and planning functions to create complex planning applications.
Prerequisites
You can define an input-ready query on any of the following InfoProviders:
● Aggregation levels (see Aggregation Levels)
● MultiProviders that include at least one simple aggregation level
The aggregation levels are created in the planning modeler; MultiProviders are defined in the modeling functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench.
Features
Definition of an Input-Ready Query
Once you have defined a query on an InfoProvider, you see the Planning tab page under the Properties of structural components (for example, in key figures or restricted key figures). The options provided there allow you to determine which structural components of an input-ready query are to be input ready at runtime and which are not. With structural components that are not input ready, you can also determine whether these components are viewed as reference data or are just protected against manual entry.
For the structural components, you also have the following options:
Input readiness of structural components of a query
Option
Description
Not input ready (reference data)
If they are being used as reference data, the structural components are not protected by data locks to ensure exclusive access for one user because this data serves as a reference for many users.
This is the default setting.
Not input ready (no reference data)
If you want to protect structural components against manual entries but allow changes by planning functions, you can use locks to protect this data for one particular user. In this way you can ensure that the planning function works with the displayed data only and not with data that has been changed by other users.
Input ready
You can also determine whether an input ready query is to be started in change mode or in display mode. You find this property in the Query Properties on the Planning tab page. If there is at least one input-ready query component, the query (as long as it has not been determined otherwise) is started in display mode.
In BI applications that use input ready queries as data providers, you can enter data manually at runtime. For more information, see Performing Manual Planning and Creation of Planning Applications.
Example
You want to create an input-ready query for manual planning for a plan-actual comparison of revenues for a set of products. You want the plan data in a real-time-enabled InfoCube and the actual data in a standard InfoCube.
1. Create a MultiProvider that includes the InfoCubes for the plan and actual data.
2. Define an aggregation level on the MultiProvider which contains the characteristic Product and the key figure Revenue.
3. On the aggregation level, create two restricted key figures Plan Revenue and Actual Revenue. For restriction, choose the characteristic 0INFOPROV and restrict it to the plan or actual InfoCube.
4. Add the restricted key figures to the key figure structure. Insert Product into the rows. For Plan Revenue, choose Input Ready for the input-readiness option. For Actual Revenue, choose the option Not Input Ready (Reference Data).
5. In the query properties, set the indicator that determines whether the queries are started in display or change mode as required.
Example of an input-ready query
Product
Plan Revenue
Actual Revenue
P01
20
P02
30
If you want to keep actual and plan data in a real-time enabled InfoCube, you do not require a MultiProvider for the task described above. Create an aggregation level on the InfoCube and define the input-ready query for the aggregation level. In the example above, a version characteristic acts as the InfoProvider. Create restricted key figures with the plan or actual version and proceed as in the previous example.

• Is it possible to update a query with another query?

I'm trying to update a query with another query (see attached
code). Here's my setup: I've got a table in an Access database in
which I enter a string into a form and update. This string
corresponds to a single record in another table of the same
datasource. The first table has only one record to provide the
second, which has many and will have more. Basically what I'm
wondering is: Is this a valid thing to do in coldfusion? If not
please help with an alterate method. I'm still a novice at
coldfusion.
The overall effect I'm going for is to display the one record
as a featured truck profile on the web site:
www.truckerstoystore.net.
I currently get an error when I try to display the page with the
current query setup.
Check this page to see the error:

Help on this issue is very much appreciated.

• Duplicate entry check in Tb control with 6 same fields

actualy i have made a table control with six same fields.
batch1      batch2     batch3    batch4        batch5           batch6
the data type of all fields is same.
i want to assign a check for duplicate entries.
the value entered in batch1 (say bgp000001). then it cannot be entered in any row or column of table control.that means this value bgp000001 cannot be entered again in entire table control.
although i have been able to create a validation for table control current line.
In PAI
loop at i_packcase.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch1 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO1_0107.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch2 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO2_0107.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch3 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO3_0107.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch4 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO4_0107.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch5 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO5_0107.
FIELD I_PACKCASE-batch6 MODULE CHECK_CRTNO6_0107 .
endloop.
corresponding modules are coded as below:
there is no check in field-batch1( as this is the first entry in table contrl)
module check_crtno2_0107 input.
if i_packcase-batch2 eq i_packcase-batch1.
message v_duplicate type 'E' display like 'I'.
endif.
endmodule.
module check_crtno3_0107 input.
if i_packcase-batch3 eq i_packcase-batch2
or i_packcase-batch3 eq i_packcase-batch1.
concatenate 'CASE'  i_packcase-batch3
' ALREADY ENTERED' into v_duplicate.
message v_duplicate type 'E' display like 'I'.
endif.
endmodule.
similarly field-batch6 is checked against all previous 5 fields
this works only for current line of table control.
*now i want to extend this check to all lines of table control.

Hi,

• Doubt in Firing Query with multiple opportunities UUID/IDs

HI Folks!
I might have simple doubt but please help me on this!
1. I have a custom BO with association to opportunities.
[DeploymentUnit(CustomerRelationshipManagement)] businessobject Sy_Trade {
[AlternativeKey] [Label("Trade Id")] element tradeid : BusinessTransactionDocumentID;
node RelatedOpportunities [0,n]{
element BusinessTransactionDocumentReference : BusinessTransactionDocumentReference;
element BusinessTransactionDocumentRelationshipRoleCode : BusinessTransactionDocumentRelationshipRoleCode;
association RelatedOpportunity[0,1] to Opportunity;
2. I have success fully used association and i am able to view create all the opportunities related to my custom Bo.
ISSUE : I want a facet where i just want DISPLAY the activities and sales document assigned in the RELATED OPPORTUNITIES ( N opportunities )
How do i query with Multiple opportunities ID and fetch the activities against it?
Btw I want to use query in UI Designer... I have created an advanced list pane and there i want the result list
I hope i am clear!
Thanks in adavance...
Regards
Dhruvin

Hi Ludger,
I have successfully displayed Related Opportunities associated with trade.( i am able to create , delete also )
Issue : I am not able to "Display" ( i don't need to edit or create ) all the activities created against all the opportunities in a different tab.
I tried to approaches :
1: Query : Created a Query on Activity BO and tried to pass multiple related opportunities ( but seems not possible , please tell me any possibility to pass range of opportunity via transformation or anything? )
2 : binding : I have a Node Related Opportunity so just tried to bind it with BO model but problem is it is displaying all the activities of first opportunity of the list...
i think why because :
In Data model I have created a table bind with Related Opportunities...
now that node is 1 to N , association to opportunity 0 to 1 , hence i think it fetches only 1 opportunities activity
should i create like below ( Or is it possible)
Node Reltdoppts[0,1]
association [0,N] to opportunity BO ?
Although i strongly feel SAP should provied us two things :
1. We need to pass range of opportunities in a query.
2. We need to just write some absl code where i can fill the table and display it
and also is there any possibility to create a report or something to display activities as we just want to display the activities!
P.S : I have been getting a lot of bashing from client because some of the product restriction in cloud! i hope and wish SAP give developers free hand to develop right now its like our hands are tied to many things

• Oracle 10g Diff in execution plan query with binding var Vs without

We recently did 10g upgrade. In 10g, execution plan differs for query with binding var(thru jdbc etc) Vs without it as given below. For query with binding var,
it chooses poor execution plan(no index is used, full scan is done etc). everything worked fine in 9i. To rectify the problem, we have to hint query with right index,join etc. but i dont like this solution.
I would rather prefer to correct database to choose right execution path instead of eacy query level. but not sure what causes the issue.
Does anybody came across this issue? if so, Please share your experiences. Thanks for the help. Do let me know if you need more info.
1. Query without binding bar:
select * from test where col1 = :1 and col2 = :2
1. Query without binding bar:
select * from test where col1 = 'foo' and col2= 'bar'

I am not an expert but in my humble opinion it is the developer's responsability to ensure the correct explain plan is used before deploying code to production, if the explain plan returned by the DB is bad, then the use of a hint is perfectly acceptable.
Check this out: http://lcgapp.cern.ch/project/CondDB/snapshot/performance.html
Excerpt:
Bind variable peeking. If an SQL query contains bind variables, the optimal execution plan may depend on the values of those variables. When the Oracle query optimizer chooses the execution plan for such a query, it may indeed look at the values of all bind variables involved: this is known as "bind variable peeking".
In summary, the execution plan used for a given SQL query cannot be predicted a priori because it depends on the presence and quality of statistics and on the values of bind variables used at the time the query was first executed (hard-parsed). As a consequence of this instability of execution plans, very different performances may be observed for the same SQL query. In COOL, this issue is addressed by adding Oracle hints to the queries, to make sure that the same (good) plan is used in all cases, even with unreliable statistics or unfavourable bind variables.
