Checking an Array with a form input field to return true or false?

I have an array that when dumped, lists dates for all days of the month. There is a form, where the user specifies the date and when submitted, transfers to a processing.cfm file which is where i want the <cfif> to check if the date specified in form exists in the array (this way, it only limits the user of only being able to select a date from this month for an event). Is it possible to have a cfif where it will check whether or not the array contains the date the user has specified and the return true (if contains the date specified), and transfers the form to email.cfm (where it will email all the form inputs) or will return false (if outside that range) then return back to the eventform.cfm?

Nevermind. Figured it out.
Heres my code if it will help anyone:

  • Forms - Input field larger than VARCHAR2(4000)?

    Maybe I'm confused, but it doesn;t seem possible to create a form with a field larger than VARCHAR2(4000) with the builder - if you choose CLOB or LONG for a field type in the Database Object you want to use with your Form, the form builder doesn't display that field.
    So how do I make an input field that will accept a large amount of character data?

    It's a limitation, this is not been fixed until release 10.2.0.x.
    quota readme.txt:
    * Binding more than 8000 bytes data to a table containing LONG
    columns in one call of PreparedStatement.executeUpdate() may

  • Create SAP B1 Query with Optional User Input Fields

    Hi All... any help is greatly appreciated, I am new to this forum and hope to contribute in the near future once I become more of an expert with B1.
    I have a query I need to build that will search about 10 UDF's. The problem is, I don't know how to make the user input fields optional within the query. Currently, I have the following queries as testing searching 2 UDF"s:
    SELECT T0.[ItemCode], T0.[ItemName], T0.[OnHand] FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.[U_Quality] = [%0] OR T0.[U_LengthFT] =[%1]
    This query works when leaving one of the user input fields blank. However, the values it provides are wrong because it is an OR statement which will show item codes with a certain quality OR a certain size.
    The following query is the same as above but switched the OR to AND:
    SELECT T0.[ItemCode], T0.[ItemName], T0.[OnHand] FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.[U_Quality] = [%0] AND T0.[U_LengthFT] =[%1]
    This query provides me with the correct values but will not work if one of the user defined fields is not filled out.
    How do I go about getting the results I want and not having the user fill out all the UDF's for the query to execute properly?

    I think I figured it out
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T0.ItemName, T0.OnHand
    FROM OITM T0
    WHERE (T0.U_Quality = '[%0]' OR '[$0]' = '0') AND (T0.U_LengthFT ='[%1]' OR '[%1]' = '0')
    SAP must be defaulting empty user input field values to "0"
    I tried the above query and it worked!!!
    Is there anything you can add if I am missing something?
    Thanks, Alec.

  • Help...  Populate pdf form fields with html form inputs.

    I have a website that allows users to choose the pdf document they want and create. After selecting which pdf they want to create they are redirected to a web page with a html form. The html form has questions that corresponds with the the form fields of the pdf document the user selected. When submitted the code (ASP, PHP whatever is the easier) runs a script that populates the pdf document form fields. The user is then prompted if they want to save or open the document. The newly created pdfs and the user inputs do not need to be saved on the server.
    I create the pdf templates using PDF 6.0 professional
    Server can be windows or linux
    I understand ASP a little but will use whatever is feasible
    Purchasing a program is okay as long as its reasonable and is changeable by me and I have full control.
    Any help would be appreciated...

  • Associative Array with more than one field - retrieving as output parameter

    Hello,
    I'm developing an C# Application that is showing a datagrid with results from a PL/SQL procedure inside a Package.
    The .net project is in .net 4 and the DB is an oracle 10g.
    I have read the odp.net sample about the associative array. I could successfully pass as an input parameter a string[] and dealing with it inside my PL/SQL procedure.
    Now it become more complex to me because I would like to return an associative array defined like this :
    TYPE r_FinalExtract IS RECORD
    RecordmyTable myTable%ROWTYPE,
    Tel1 varchar2(25),
    Tel1Libelle varchar2(50),
    Tel2 varchar2(25),
    Tel2Libelle varchar2(50),
    Tel3 varchar2(25),
    Tel3Libelle varchar2(50),
    Tel4 varchar2(25),
    Tel4Libelle varchar2(50),
    Tel5 varchar2(25),
    Tel5Libelle varchar2(50),
    Email1 varchar2(50),
    Email1Libelle varchar2(50),
    Email2 varchar2(50),
    Email2Libelle varchar2(50)
    TYPE t_FinalExtract IS TABLE OF r_FinalExtract INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
    You can guess my PL/SQL stored procedure is filling this collection.
    The spec of my procedure :
    PROCEDURE P_SELECTDATA( ptab_ListRef IN t_AssocArrayVarchar2, ptab_Result OUT t_FinalExtract );
    Unfortunately, in my .net project, I don't know how to deal with that.
    I tryed to add p_Result as an output parameter but you have to define the OracleCollectionType for that parameter and the array type is not the good one because my t_FinalExtract is not a simple array...
    I searched over the internet and the only one thread I could find is someone who was doing like me... and finally reply to his own thread 3 months later and said that he had to create CSV lines and return a table of varchar2...
    This is what I will do because I'm loosing time for finding the way to do it with my associative array, but if someone has the solution I would be glad to read it.
    Thanks in advance.

    For PL/SQL records, I would recommend using User-Defined Types (UDTs), rather than associative arrays.
    You can read more on how to use ODP.NET UDTs here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20434_01/doc/win.112/e23174/featUDTs.htm#CJAGCAID
    Strictly speaking, ODP.NET doesn't support PL/SQL Records per se. Instead, ODP.NET supports building any generic UDT in the Oracle DB, which covers the effective functionality of a Record.
    If you want to walk through the process of taking a sample DB UDT, generating a .NET custom class, then passing an instance between DB and application, here's a tutorial that shows you how to do that:
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/dotnet/userdefinedtypes/userDefinedTypes.htm

  • Placing variables from db table in div vs form input fields

    Hello,
    Because of all the help I've received on this forum, I'm getting comfortable with reading data from db tables and writing back to them.
    Recently I've needed to create an "update" of a form (no refresh) where
    1 -  the data are read in from a table to a form
    2 -  the form data are changed by the user, and
    3 - the data are written back to the table.
    To do this, I've learned about parsing and displaying returned json data from a "success" under ajax.
    Here's a "mini" example of what I've learned:
            success: function(result)
            $('#loadmehere1').html(result['localid']);
           $('#inload1').val(result['localid']);
           error : function() { alert("error"); }
    });//End of ajax call
    So with my experimentation, I've found that ".html" is used to fill a div, and you have to use the ".val" to fill an input box on a form.
    My questions are:
    1. Can you point me in the right direction to learn about why an input statment needs a ".val" and a div can take an ".html"?
    2. Would you populate divs and input statements with different commands?
    Thanks very much!

  • Help with Dynamic Form Input

    Hello,
    I'd like to generate a form with a PL/SQL script.
    Basically I'd like to ask the user to rank a set of items.
    I have two tables one, ITEMS [ID (Primary Key), NAME (VARCHAR2)] and one PREFERENCES [ID (Primary Key), ITEM_ID (Foreign Key),PREFERENCE (Number), USERNAME (VARCHAR2)]
    From what I understand Collections and APEX_ITEM would be useful here.
    What should I do next?
    Should I read all of the ITEMS ( there will only be 7-13) into a collection and then use APEX_ITEM to generate rows in the form?
    Should I first create rows in Preferences, containing only the ITEM_ID and the USERNAME, and then use multiple row update in APEX_ITEM to generate a tabular form to update the rows?
    Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    I would like one form on one page for creating multiple rows. A tabular form would be fine.
    the page would look like
    Item 1 , Choose a Preference (LOV)
    Item 2, Choose a Preference (LOV)
    Item n, choose a Preference (LOV)
    I know that this could probably be done more easily one row at a time, but I am concerned about making it easy for the end user.
    A tabular form could be appropriate, however it seems like most of your example tabular forms, have already generated records. (ie http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:170:4031429456413649::NO ).
    Would it make sense to prepare the form by inserting values into the table just before displaying the form.
    something like (in psudocode)
    select ID from ITEMS into l_items;
    INSERT INTO PREFERENCES (ITEM_ID)
    VALUES (l_items)
    I have a trigger on Preferences that inserts v('APP_USER') into the USERNAME column.
    If I did this the form could display
    select     "ITEMS"."NAME" as "NAME",
         "PREFERENCES"."PREFERENCE" as "PREFERENCE"
    from     "ITEMS" "ITEMS",
         "PREFERENCES" "PREFERENCES"
    where "PREFERENCES"."ITEM_ID"="ITEMS"."ID"
    NAME would be displayed as TEXT
    PREFERENCE would be an LOV
    USERNAME would be hidden
    Thanks for your help.

  • Problem: check random array with a static value

    My goal is to use the random number generator to put numbers into randomArray, then do a linear search to try to find if the number 5 has been generatated. Next print out where in the array the value can be found. I have no compile errors but I have a logical or syntax problem, any help would be great.
    public class test {
         int j;
         int target = 5;
         public static void main(String [] args) {
              int i;
              int[] randomArray = new int[20];
              for(i=0; i<randomArray.length; i++) {
                   randomArray[i] = (int)(Math.floor(Math.random() * (10.0 - 0.0)) + 0.0);
              test n = new test();
              n.display();
         public int arraySearch(int[] randomArray, int target) {
              for (j=0; j<randomArray.length; j++) {
                   if (randomArray[j] == target) {
                        return j;
              return -1;
         public void setArraySearch(int j) {
              j = j;
         int p;
         public void setArrayValues(int[] randomArray) {
              for (int k=0; k<randomArray.length; k++) {
                   p = randomArray[k];
         public void display() {
              System.out.println("Five is found in array position " + j);
              System.out.println(p);
    }

    Hi,
    That's correct. You need to call the other methods just as you call display, but you do also have some other minor problems. You have written some methods that aren't needed, and they do nothing. This might help you:
    public class test {
         public static void main(String [] args) {
              int i;
              int[] randomArray = new int[20];
              for(i=0; i<randomArray.length; i++) {
                   randomArray[i] = (int)(Math.floor(Math.random() * (10.0 - 0.0)) + 0.0);
              test n = new test();
              int indexFound = n.arraySearch(randomArray, 5);
              n.display(indexFound );
         public int arraySearch(int[] randomArray, int target) {
              for (j=0; j<randomArray.length; j++) {
                   if (randomArray[j] == target) {
                        return j;
              return -1;
         public void display(int indexFound) {
              System.out.println("Five is found in array position " + indexFound);
    } /Kaj

  • How to link label with an input field in data table?

    I am curious if there is a nice way to link a label to input field in a data table directly in JSP? Data filling the table are dynamically bounded.
    Sample, simplified code below. Values of "label" property are unique in the collection binded to dataTable.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <jsp:root version="1.2" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
         xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
         xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page">
         <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" />
         <f:view>
              <html>
              <body>
              <h:dataTable value="#{screen$monitoring$errorlog$CorrectHopper.dataset}" var="DATA_ROW">
                   <h:column>
                        <f:facet name="header">
                             <h:outputText value="Name" />
                        </f:facet>
                        <h:outputLabel value="#{DATA_ROW.label}" for="#{DATA_ROW.label}_id" />

                        </f:facet>
                        <h:inputText value="#{DATA_ROW.label}" id="#{DATA_ROW.label}_id" />
                   </h:column>
              </h:dataTable>
              </body>
              </html>
         </f:view>
    </jsp:root>
    returns:

    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: #{DATA_ROW.label}_id
    what is related to EL expression in h:inputText's "id" attribute.
    Is there any other way to bind label with dynamically created input field in JSP? Do I really have to bind input field directly to component objects with "binding" and set IDs manually with setId() (what is ugly solution because it moves View related logic to Model layer)?

    I've thought of using EL because I have to somehow
    link a label to an input field dynamically. Somehow? Dynamically? Just use plain text :)Well... just look at my code snippet (notice: we want to join the pairs of labels and text boxes placed in a datatable [or any other repeater-like component rendering properties of objects from a collection]):
    <h:dataTable value="#{screen$monitoring$errorlog$CorrectHopper.dataset}" var="DATA_ROW">
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Name" />
    </f:facet>
    <h:outputLabel value="#{DATA_ROW.label}" for="#{DATA_ROW.label}_id" />
    </h:column>
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Value" />
    </f:facet>
    <h:inputText value="#{DATA_ROW.label}" id="#{DATA_ROW.label}_id" />
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    and what is your idea of using plain text as "id" attribute value in this case? :)

    Michal

  • Help with comparing string array with parameters

    I've posted my code in full so hopefully everyone can see exactly what I have been doing.
    Note - my code uses the observer/observable model. The method I am having the problem with the if statement is in the class HSBC.
    Basically when the pin count reaches 4 (in the atm class) it sends the userid & pincode) over to the checkPinAndUserId(String pinCode, String userCode) method. Here the if statement should check the userid to see if the string parameter matches a string in the array. If it does it should check in the same position in the pin array to check the pin no is correct and then return true.

    I wasn't trying to annoy anyone at all.
    I'm new to java and have been told that using the observer/observable model is not considered basic java. So that is the only reason I posted it in this section. At the same time i feel that the bit I'm struggling with is actually basic - hence posting it in the basic section. I'm not sure if people of all abilities check all forums or just the ones they feel at at their standard.
    So appologies if you've taken offence.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 does not correctly display inuktitut text in an input field. Any solution?

    Firefox 3.6.8 seems to have an issue with Unicode in input fields, e.g.
    The following code
    <input type="text" value="ᕿᓂᕐᓂᖅ..." style="font-family:Pigiarniq">
    should look more or less the same as
    <input type="text" value="ei3i6..." style="font-family:AiPaiNunavik">
    The first one uses a Unicode font (available at http://www.gov.nu.ca/english/font/) the second one one of the traditional non-unicode fonts.
    The two squares in the first string are not really squares. When you copy and paste the string onto a system with a unicode font containing canadian syllabic characters, then the squares are displayed correctly.
    Additional information: I just found that this is not related to input fields, as I thought in the beginning, but also happens within normal Ps or DIVs.
    Strangely enough, the following complete HTML seems to work when saving as a local file:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="iu-ca" lang="iu-ca">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    <style>body{font-family:Arial,Pigiarniq;}</style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>ᕿᓂᕐᓂᖅ</p>
    <div>ᕿᓂᕐᓂᖅ</div>
    <p>a real unicode font:</p>
    <input type="text" value="ᕿᓂᕐᓂᖅ..." style="font-family:Pigiarniq">
    <p>a non-unicode font:</p>
    <input type="text" value="ei3i6..." style="font-family:AiPaiNunavik">
    </body>
    </html>
    and opend within this same browser session in another tab.
    In my current browser session, I see two different renditions of the string:
    - on this support form submission page, the string is incorrectly displayed (with two squares) as on the webpage which is currently under development
    - in another tab, the above mentioned HTML file displays all instances of the string correctly.

    (A) is what I see on this webpage (Firefox support form submission page)
    (B) is what I see within the same browser instance in another tab, viewing the above HMTL code
    (C) is what happens on the webpage under development.
    A and C show the same strange behaviour.
    Opera, Safari on Windows and IE display it correctly.
    Thanks for any hints,

  • Problem with update form and date (show 1970-01-01)

    Hi, I've a update form (php/mysql) with many date input field. When my date is 000-00-00 I show 1970-01-01. Why??
    This is the code:
    label for="data_chiusura"><strong>Data chiusura</strong></label>
          <input type="text" name="Data_chiusura" value="<?php echo $string=$row_Recordset1['data_chiusura'];
        if($string == '0000-00-00'){
        $string = '';
        } else {
        $string = date("d-m-Y", strtotime($string));
        }; ?>" id="Data_chiusura">
    Thanks
    k

    Why would the date ever be null? As long as the date has a non-zero, non-null value this function will work correctly.
    I'm a little confused by what you are doing here. So, you are pulling data from a table, and populating forms with it. This particular field is a date field, and the problem is that when the data for that field is a null, you are getting instead a date of 1970-01-01 displayed in that field - is that correct? What do you want to appear there when the data is null? Nothing?
