Checking overall size of all mailboxes

Hi,
We're about to start on a drive to improve how our users use email. Specifically we want to encourage them to delete irrelevant and outdated emails.
As part of this, we'd like to have some kind of measure such as: All OCS accounts currently use x amount of storage
Then, on a frequent basis we can measure the reduction in this figure so we can report back on progress.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Andy

It's pretty simple. Try the following:
select sum(msg_size) from es_header;
Keep in mind you wouldn't want to calculate msg_size from es_instance since that would give you skewed results.

  • Set the default size for all archive mailboxes including the ones it will be created in the future

    Hi there.
We are in the phase where we Will enable Online Archive for all the users.
We see that the default Archiving Quota is set up for 50 GB. We have found this powershell command on MsTechnet forum
    Get-Mailbox -resultsize unlimited | where {$_.ArchiveDatabase -ne $null} | set-mailbox -ArchiveQuota 7GB -ArchiveWarningQuota 6GB
which I guess it will set up the ArchiveQuota to 7GB to all the users, true?
The question is if this command will work only for those users who currently have archiving enabled or it Will also work for those users which we are planing to enable archiving in the future?
The idea is that everyone would not have 50GB by default and this should be a default value also for those who currently do not have archiving enabled.
    with best regards,

    Hi there.
    I don't quite get it.
I have created "for example" a database called: STH ARCHIVE.
Then if I take look on properties of this database this is how it's shown:
And now here comes the "tricky part" which is a little bit odd to me.
I have enabled archive on my mailbox and selected this STH ARCHIVE DB to hold this archive mailbox.
Then I have manually ran ManagedFolderAssistant for my account: Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -Identity "my-email-address"
And after I have greped the size of my mailbox:
    Get-Mailbox | Get-MailboxStatistics -Archive | Sort totalitemsize -desc | ft displayname,totalitemsize, itemcount >C:\report-archive-database-mailboxes.txt
    And get the result:
    Personal Archive - MYUSERNAME
    TotalItemSize: 4.071 GB (4,371,586,689 bytes)
    ItemCount: 55227
So now I don't understand how I was able to go thru that sizes which are in the upper print screen of archive DB properties?

  • Do I need to export multiple sizes for all standard print sizes? i.e.Say I crop the image in LR to 6'5" x 9' to fit within an 11" x 14" (overall) mat of a framed print.. Now let's say I want to reprint that same image in a 12" x 16" size ... to fit within

Do I need to export multiple sizes for all standard print sizes? i.e.Say I crop the image in LR to 6'5" x 9' to fit within an 11" x 14" (overall) mat of a framed print.. Now let's say I want to reprint that same image in a 12" x 16" size ... to fit within a mat of with overall size of 20" x 24"? Or will the 1st export be "locked" at 6.5" X 9" (proportionately)?

So, for the first one Export it cropped to 6.5 x 9 - and in the Export Dialog box there is a capability to rename the file for exported output - which would allow you to add something like the crop or intention to the base name of the file.  e.g. for _IMG0846.nef - setup the output filename to _IMG0846-65x9 for 11x14.jpg and output it at, say 300 or 360 dpi.  So, it has a unique name and purpose in your output folder.
For best results, now, re-crop the picture in LR - just open the crop [R] dialog again, reframe the image to the new ratio, 12x16 and Export again - with an adjustment to the filename. e.g. _IMG0846-12x16 for 20x24.jpg
So, now you have two clearly identified image files in your output area and you can provide those to whomever is printing for you, etc.  Discard them when you're done since you always have the original to return to to re-frame again as necessary.
This way you get output sharpening and resolution (in pixels) optimized for your output print size.  Maybe not super important for smallish prints-but more important for larger ones.   Output at 100 quality.

  • Get size of the mailbox before/after backup

    Hi there
i've been assigned to do a specific report related to exchange and its backup
so what we want is a report that would give us the global size of all our databases before and after the backup ( even the size of the logs before and after)
(example : we have a database x , inside of it we need to go inside the data folder, and retrieve the size of the .edb
then do the same thing with the logs, go inside the logs folder, and retrieve the logs size )
i was wondering if anyone ever managed to pull a script that does similar things, given the fact that i ve never worked with powershell and my knowledge is kinda limited in that area

    Hi,
To get the mailbox database size, you can use the following command.
get-mailboxdatabase -status | fl name, databasesize
To check the transaction log size of a specific mailbox database, you need to check the following path and see there is a lot of 1MB size TEXT file like E000000000A.
    <drive>\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Mailbox Database
To get the total size of transaction log files, some scripts may help you. You can ask this question in the Script forum which is staffed by more experts specializing in this kind of problem. You might get a better answer there.

  • How to check image size and 500PX upload action please!

    Hi,
    Two questions please.
    1. How do you check the overall size of an image in Lightroom 4 before exporting.  In Photoshop it is image/size so what is it in Lightroom please?
    2. I have Canon raw files and tiffs and want to upload to 500PX and other web site galleries in one action.  Is it possible?  How do you set up an action to convert an image, say a tiff, to a certain size and then save as a jpeg and upload to 500pX using the plugin all in one action?  At the moment I am saving the tiff as a jpeg to a correct size using a pre set, but then exporting to another folder ready to either manually upload or re-import to Lightroom as a jpeg then upload. Surely there is a quicker way than this?

    1. The size is visible in the metadata panel, set the dropdown to EXIF. In addition, in the Grid, with Ctrl-J, you can set the options so that you will see the cropped size in the rectangle surrounding the photo.
    2. You cannot, in one action, upload to multiple galleries. Each upload is its own action. I don't know if there is a plug-in to let you upload from LR to 500px in one action; clearly there are plug-ins for Flickr and Smugmug and several others. There should be no need to re-import. Normally, the plug-ins I mentioned will take a TIFF, resize it according to your directions, convert to JPG and upload.

  • HD space problems - scanning all mailboxes for large attachments

    Hello Exchange experts
I have only 5 GB left on a database that has 150 MailBoxes.Until I connect some external storage to the server, i was wondering if there is some way on the server level to scan all the mailboxes for large attachments and delete them to save some space. I
    have exchange. 2010.

First make sure database is consuming the space. This command will show you the database file size and path
    Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | select ServerName,Name,DatabaseSize,EdbFilePath
Please take an exchange known backup if edb file size is not consuming the database drive space..
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876854(v=exchg.150).aspx.
I suggest you create a newdatabase and move all mailboxes to the newly created database.
You could attach a HDD and create a mailbox database in that and move all mailboxes and delete the default database (after check this) and create new one in the
place of default database move back all your mailboxes back from the newly connected HDD to this database. You can use this command to move mailboxes in bulk. Please check
    this
    Get-Mailbox –Database ‘Mailbox Database 001’ | New-MoveRequest –TargetDatabase ‘Mailbox Database 002’
If you dont have enough space you could try defragmentation. But you make sure you have white space or no
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/08/20/how-to-check-database-white-space-in-exchange.aspx
Or this script remove all attachement that size >1000 KB
first creat mailbox called it test , send many attachements to this this mailbox , in the code below change the line Get-Mailbox yourUserName to Get-Mailbox test
    Import-Module -Name "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\Web Services\1.1\Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.dll"
    $credentials = New-Object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.WebCredentials(ADMINUSERNAME, PASSWORD)

    write-host $mailbox.displayName
    $folderId = New-Object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.FolderId([Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.WellKnownFolderName]::MsgFolderRoot, $mailbox.primarySmtpAddress.ToString())
    $folder = [Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.Folder]::Bind($service, $folderId)
    $folders = $service.FindFolders($folderId, $folderFilter, $folderView)
    foreach ($subFolder in $folders.Folders)

  • Outlook 2013 - Searching All Mailboxes... doesn't!

Hello.  We have a number of users that are having problems searching their mailboxes.  We are:
    Outlook 2013
    Cached Exchange Mode
    Fully Indexed
Selecting the option to search "All Mailboxes"
Only brings up results from local inbox.
I have tried this at our help desk on several computers, same problem.
I have read through some of the postings on here, but nothing seems to help.  Any ideas?  Can't see recreating profiles for a large group of people and then have it not work.  Recreated my own profile and still won't search my shared mailbox.
    Thanks!
    ~Chris

    Hi Chris,
Sorry for the delay. It's the normal behavior of Outlook to not include shared mailbox even if you select to search "All Mailboxes".
Some users reported that they can search shared mailboxes after checking the box "Download shared folders" under Account Settings > More Setting > Advanced. You may also test it if possible. (I've tested it in my environment, but it didn't work.)

  • How to check total size of attachment stored in database?

    Hello guys,
Firstly I'm new to this forum & SAP Basis. Therefore i want to apologize if i'm posting in wrong area.
Actually I want to know how to check total size of attachment that have been uploaded in ECC.
From the current database size, how can i check how much space have been used to store attachment such as pdf, doc, xls and tif. I  want to know how much space have been utilized by those attachments from August 2010 until now.
FYI, those are PR, PO & MIGO attachments.
Where do i start? What are the tables to check? Which table keeps record of the attachment size? etc.. etc..
Really appreciate if you guys can give me some guideline.
    Thank you & Rgds,
    fafizah.

    Hi,
As such there is no direct way to do this but if you will able to find out which all table stores the attachment then you can find out the size of those table from database level.
    Thanks

  • HELP !!! How to check the size of an object in Photoshop ?

    Hello,
I'm using Photoshop CS 3 to design a website. I used several shapes such as rectangle, line or ellipse of different size. Probably it is a stupid question but I don't know how to check the size of an existing rectangle. I tried free transform tool that selects my rectangle but doesn't show its size. Then I made a selection with rectangular marquee tool but I see nowhere the size of the selected area.
If you know the name of such a tool please help me !
    Have a nice day !

Web images are all pixels. View at 100% at pixel view. that is your exact size

  • How to check client size in SAP

    Hi All,
I would like to check the size of production client so i can do system refresh to QA. I need to know how to check client size only not database size.
    Regards
    Atul-

    Hi
Yes, there is a report called YSTABSIZ which can calculate the size of the client.
    1. Login to the target client ( for which the client size to be calculated)
    2. Run SE38 , execute YSTABSIZ by selecting the table *
    3. Execute the report in background
Once the client is deleted, the space which is free can be used to fill in with newly added data
but if you want to see the actual space reduction in DB02,it can be acheived only with DB reorganization
OSS notes 118823 and  for this purpose
    Hope ths helps

  • Checking the size of the infocube

    Hi,
How can we check the size of the infocube with large volume of data? From the SAP standard practice what is the optimal size that an infocube can consist of data with out an impact on the query performance?

    Hi
When estimating the size of an InfoCube one must consider the size of the fact table and dimension tables. However, the size of the fact table is the most important, since in most cases it will be 80-90% of the total storage requirement for the InfoCube.
The following shows how to calculate the size of an InfoCube, including the dimension tables and the fact tables.
    Size of a dimension table
To calculate the size of a dimension table:
u2022     The size of one record of the dimension table can be calculated by summing the number of characteristics in the dimension table at 4 bytes each. Also, add four bytes for the key of the dimension table.
u2022     Calculate the number of records in the dimension table
u2022     Multiply the size of 1 record by the number of records
Assume that the dimension table indexes will take up as much space as the dimension table itself.
    Size of a Fact Table
To calculate the size of a fact table:
u2022     Count the number of key figures the table will contain, assuming a quantity key figure requires 9 bytes, a currency key figure requires 9 bytes, and other numeric fields require 4 bytes (or more).
u2022     Every dimension table requires a foreign key in the fact table, so add 4 bytes for each key. Donu2018t forget the three standard dimensions.
u2022     Add these figures together to get the size of 1 record
u2022     Calculate the number of records in the fact table
u2022     Multiply the size of 1 record by the number of records
Assume that the fact table indexes will take up as much space as the fact table itself. This is more index space than is usually required in most OLTP systems. In the fact table, many of the columns will be foreign keys with pointers to dimension tables. Each of them will have an index.
Add an additional 150% for temporary table space and aggregate tables. An aggregate contains both new dimension and data tables. A rule of thumb is that all the aggregates will be the size of the fact table.
    Hope this Helps
    Regards
    Shilpa

  • Check file size in ODI

    dear all,
how to check file size in oracle data integrator.
    regards
    Naseer

    Hi Naseer,
    Here you go.
    Step 1:
In your existing LKM add a step, "Check File Count" (Make this as first step).
    Command on source
    Technology : File
    Command On Target
    Technology : Jython
    Command:
    import os
    # open the file
    fsrc = open('<%=odiRef.getSrcTablesList("", "[SCHEMA]/[RES_NAME]", ", ", "")%>', 'r')
    # read the first line
    lsrc=fsrc.readline()
    # set row counter, starting on the second line
    n = -1
    # count lines
    while (lsrc):
    -------lsrc=fsrc.readline()
    -------n = n + 1
    # Check for the record count
    if n<1:
    -------os.system('C:\OdiSendMail.bat')
-------raise '\n Can not process further as the file doesnt contain rows'
    Step 2:
Create a batch file OdiSendMail.bat at C: and paste the below code after modifying as per your environment,
    cd C:\OdiHome\oracledi\bin
startcmd.bat OdiSendMail "-MAILHOST=mail.server.com" "-FROM=[email protected]" "-SUBJECT=Hi" "-TO=[email protected]" "-MSGBODY=The file doesnot contains rows to process, please resend a new file."
    Prerequisites:
    1. Odiparams.bat should be updated with your corresponding "Repository Connection Information" .
    2. Replace "---" with tab in Step 1.
    3. Change Step 2 first line to point to your corresponding <ODI_HOME>\oracledi\bin location as such.
Hope this gives solution as you are looking for, try this and let me know. Let me know if you have any difficulties in any steps.
P.S: This above code is tested in my local and working as expected. I am still working on calling OdiSendMail within jython, if i got any updates will let u know.
    Thanks,
    Guru

  • Checking the size of the object

Hi all , i need to check the size of the Oracle internal table for the text index created .
    dr $r --table
    option 1:
    SELECT S.bytes Bytes, SYSDATE FROM DBA_SEGMENTS S, DBA_LOBS L WHERE l.TABLE_NAME='DR$TEXT_SEARCH$R' AND l.SEGMENT_NAME=S.SEGMENT_NAME;Option 2:
      select bytes from dba_segments where segment_name='DR$TEXT_SEARCH$R'for 1 i got 7670000000
    for 2 i got 655366
Which i correct to identify the size of this table

    Hello,
In fact you have one Segment for the TABLE and another one Segment for the LOB related to this Table.
Your two queries don't return the same value because they don't deal with the same Segment.
If you execute the query below, you may see the name of the LOB Segment related to the Table:
    SELECT S.bytes Bytes, S.segment_name FROM DBA_SEGMENTS S, DBA_LOBS L
WHERE L.TABLE_NAME='DR$TEXT_SEARCH$R' AND L.SEGMENT_NAME=S.SEGMENT_NAME;Hope this help.

  • Mail app strange behavior, default and all mailboxes not accessible

hello community! i have had this problem from months now and maybe years...a couple of days ago i bought my 5S and i thought that this should have pushed me to fix this and not just work around it...
so here's the deal MAIL APP, iPhone 5S 7.0.3
i have mail app setup with 5 gmail accounts, which receive and send email just fine, the problem comes when i need to check emails...here's what happens.
    i open the mail app
SOMETIMES i see on the bottom "downloading 250 email" (50 last emails for 5 accounts).
IF im fast enough...i would be able to enter in my default account or "all mailboxes", if i wait like a couple of seconds, boom! all mailboxes and default account become unaccessibe (GREY, like in the screenshot)...and they stay like this
when i manage to access the "all mailboxes", i see a bunch of NO SENDER emails that appear and disappear after a few seconds, all dated 1.1.01 and the email conversations with more than 1 email, i would be able to tap it, it would get evidenced but it wouldn't open the email conversation, this happens sometimes, sometimes it opens...
i have tried searching this issue, but nothing seemed as this, only found some random use with the no sender or duplicate emails, not my case...no sender emails appear and go away in manner of 2 seconds.
workoround: Gmail app works just fine, but i would love to use the native mail app
screenshot attached, i hope someone can help here. I ave covered the rest of the email accounts, but i assure you that they are black and not grey like the top ones.

and so again happened, was sending an email from my default account and boom!!
however, the email was sent, then this happened. this time the emails are from the 70's, probably someone that decided to pull my leg seein me in the future...lol

Those are SQLs likely inside a PLSQL block / procedure.
