Checking the space for /archlog mount point script
I have the below shell script which is checking /archlog mount point space on cappire(solaris 10) server. When the space usage is above 80% it should e-mail. When i tested this script it is working as expected.
#!/usr/bin/ksh
export MAIL_LIST="[email protected]"
export ARCH_STATUS=`df -k /archlog | awk '{ print $5 }' | grep -v Use%`
echo $ARCH_STATUS
if [[ $ARCH_STATUS > 80% ]]
then echo "archive destination is $ARCH_STATUS full please contact DBA"
echo "archive destination /archlog is $ARCH_STATUS full on Cappire." | mailx -s "archive destination on cappire is $ARCH_STATUS full" $MAIL_LIST
else
exit 1
fi
exit
When i scheduled a cron job it is giving different result. Right now /archlog is 6%, it should exit without e-mailing anything. But, i am getting the below e-mail from cappire server which is strange.
subject:archive destination on cappire is capacity
below is the e-mail content.
6% full
Content-Length: 62
archive destination /archlog is capacity 6% full on Cappire.
Please help me in resolving this issue - why i am getting the above e-mail, i should not get any e-mail with the logic.
Is there any issue with the cron. Please let me know.

Is there any issue with the cron. Please let me know.Not a problem with cron, but possibly an issue with the fact that you are doing a string comparison on something that you are thinking of as a number.
Also, when I'm piping a bunch of stuff together and get unexpected results, I find it useful to break it down at a command line to confirm that each step is returning what I expect.
df -k /archlog
df -k /archlog | awk '{ print $5 }'
df -k /archlog | awk '{ print $5 }' | grep -v Use%
A common mistake is to forget that jobs submitted from cron don't source the owning user's .profile. You need to make sure the script takes care of setting its environment, but that doesn't look to be the issue for this particular problem.

Error in "Checking Availabe Space for the DB2 UDB for Unix..." phase
Hello,
We are in the middle of an Upgrade proyect from R/3 4.6C (kernet 4.6D EXT) to ECC 6.0.
As a first step we are doing an Heterogenous System Copy to migrate from servers with HP-UX B11.11/Informix 9.4 to servers with AIX 5.3/DB2 UDB 8.
We already did the database import with no errors. When we are installing R3 4.6C in the target server we are getting u201CMemory Fault (coredump)u201D error in the u201CChecking Availabe Space for the DB2 UDB for Unix, Windows Tablespacesu201D phase.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Best Regards
FranciscoHello Paul,
There is no db2diag.log. We are in the first steps of the installation.
Operating System logs just shows an ABNORMALY TERMINATION OF SOTWARE error.

Yes, I agree that we can create a new variant and can assign it after activating it. But, what I want is that I have created a new variant and check space in FF68 is 3 digits and how can I make changes in OT45's new variant so that cheque space gets changed to 10digit or more.
Please Help.

Btrfs with different file systems for different mount points?
Hey,
I finally bought a SSD, and I want to format it to f2fs (and fat to boot on UEFI) and install Arch on it, and in my old HDD I intend to have /home and /var and try btrfs on them, but I saw in Arch wiki that btrfs "Cannot use different file systems for different mount points.", it means I cannot have a / in f2fs and a /home in btrfs? What can I do? Better use XFS, ZFS or ext4 (I want the faster one)?
Thanks in advance and sorry my english.pedrofleck wrote:Gosh, what was I thinking, thank you! (I still have a doubt: is btrfs the best option?)
Just a few weeks ago many of us were worrying about massive data loss due to a bug introduced in kernel 3.17 that caused corruption when using snapshots. Because btrfs is under heavy developement, this sort of thing can be expected. That said, I have my entire system running with btrfs. I have 4 volumes, two raid1, a raid0 and a jbod. I also run rsync to an ext4 partition and ntfs. Furthermore I make offline backups as well.
If you use btrfs make sure you have backups and make sure you are ready to use them. Also, make sure you check sum your backups. rsync has the option to use checksums in place of access times to determine what to sync. -
How will check the space taken by a single table in a tablespace ?
How will check the space taken by a single table in a tablespace ?
dba_segments is giving the same values even if I truncate the table?
Pls replyI need to know how can we find out the size of the table in the tablespace.use user_segments (bytes) column.
How much bytes it has taken ?value from user_segments, bytes column
If u delete records will the space be used for another table in same tablespace?No, it keep the space in the same table for future usage.
How can we free that space ?truncate or drop the table and reduce the size from tablespace, if you want to reclaim the space from the tablespace, OS level.

RMAN's commands to check the datafiles for any sort of corruptions
what are RMAN's commands to check the datafiles for any sort of corruptions
RMAN is check database or backups here? i think its checking backups? and
You mean to say that its not checking the datafiles but the backup of them for corruption is it?If this is what you meant than I guess you haven't read teh link that I referred.From there,
When performing a BACKUP... VALIDATE, RMAN reads the files to be backed up in their entirety, as it would during a real backup. It does not, however, actually produce any backup sets or image copies.This command wont check the backups and neither its taking a backup.Its checking it for corruptions.
[i]
RMAN>backup validate database ;
not working when db is in no-archivelog mode
Are you trying to run it in the open stage ? If you are in Noarchive mode, you can't run backup related commands in open stage.Run it in the mount stage.

HI
I created a web application and configured rbs storage ,
I uploaded documents (for ex: 18 number)
after uploaded documents , and observed the RBS storage folder, number of files are increasing (39 number) , its working fine
and also I run the querys to check the rows increasing or not , (when I upload new doc rows are increased its fine also)
select count(*) from alldocs
Select count(*) from AllDocstreams
but when I delete some docs from document library ,
1)the doc itself deleted from document library
2)when I check the rbs storage there is no number of files are decreased(its still 39 files ), its same as before doc deleted from doc library
after some time I found the number of files are decreasing from RBS storage folder in sql server,
here I want to know the how the files are decreasing from RBS storage after some time, where shld I check the settings for this? and how I control on it
here how I know the settings for cleaning up orphan BLBOS how these deleted BLOB
adil1. WHen you delete the file from Sharepoint, it is still present in Recycle bin. This is a default setting in sharepoint for 30 days. Once files are deleted fro Recycle bin, it can also be delete from RBS
2. There is a RBS cleanup job which deletes files from RBS. for more info check

Firstly, I can't open iPhoto on my macbook as of a few days and could it have anything to do with a problem I have updating my iPhone's software as I've downloaded extra iCloud storage but I still can't get the iPhone to recognise the space for software
No. With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see when iPhoto opens?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?
For the iPhone issue ask in the iPhone forum.

I recently uploaded the Maverick operating system. I wanted to scan some things on my HP Printer/Scanner and could not . This is the error message I received: An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only. I am a novice with the computer and have no one to help. I hope someone knows an easy fix.
Thank youThis worked for me:
"Although it is not a 'fix' for the HP issue, I did find a workaround that helped me. In the Preferences Panel in MacOS X you can pull up the Printer/Scanner preferences and scan directly from OS X. I'd not known of this prior to posting here and it worked like a charm."
"Of course, HP should still update their software, but it's good to know that Apple has it covered for them."
I found it here:

Hi All,
I am configuring RSS Viewer webpart to SP 2013.
But i am getting an error "An unexpected error occurred processing your request. Check the logs for details and correct the problem."
I looked for solution of this error. i got to know, we need to set proxy server in web.config file.
So, in order to resolve this i put the following set of code in web.config and save the file
<system.net>
<defaultProxy>
<proxy usesystemdefault="True" proxyaddress="http://myproxyserver" bypassonlocal="True" />
</defaultProxy>
</system.net>
But, still i am getting the error.
What could be the problem now.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
RakeshHi Rakesh,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you used RSS viewer web part in SharePoint 2013.
The RSS viewer web part uses authentication delegation and is using the current user's credentials to access the proxy. However, the RSS viewer only supports anonymous and Kerberos authentication. So if you are using NTLM authentication, the RSS viewer will
not be able to authenticate the user through the proxy. More information, please refer to the link:

Also see:

I hope this helps.
Thanks,
