Chinese export to pdf in pixels - fixed length width

I have the C# windows form program which will export the Sales POS Receipts in PDF. But I find that due to fonts problem, the chinese and english words that make it not aligned for each line.
But I heard that there is a solution that will make the char length be the same for each letters in pixels by assigning full-width to chinese and half-width to english words.
Which library I can use for handling pixels length when exporting to PDF???

  • Exporting Crystal .rpt to a fixed length text file

I am attempting to write a Crystal report that formats data to be exported to a fixed length text file. Each record will be made up of a number of fields with specific start locations and lengths. Is there any way to set the field start position and field length. I've been able to adjust the character per inch text export parameter to get close, but I can't update the paramete any longer.
How can I reset the "Characters per inch" text export parameter?

  • InDesign Export to PDF Pixellated

My InDesign Exports to PDF  are Pixellated.  When I then open those PDF's into Photoshop and resave as PDFs they are not and the file sizes are drastically different. I've compared export specs and while all the major ones appear to be the same, they are not all available in Photoshop vs InDesign.
I've created an InDesign PDF export file and a Photoshop Save PDF file to demonstrate the difference in view. Would someone take a look at these and help me out?  I'm pulling my hair out over this difference and would like to remove the step of having to open in Photoshop every PDF file I export from InDesign so I can get it to look right.
I am unable to upload the PDF's in the image section of this forum.

I think that solved the problem.  To protect myself, I'll have the printer do a proof before the run.
Question:  If I'm sending this to a customer via email for approval -- and they don't have 'smoothing' turned on in their reader (assuming that have that option) -- will it go back to pixellated?
    Thanks for your help!

Well, I looked at the first file and saw no pixel aspects at all. It was very clean. Check that you have display smoothing turned on in your preferences.

  • PDF Export with fixed column widths ignores page break on Analysis item

    Hi experts,
we use the column width modification to define fixed column width in a analysis item. On the same Web template we want to export the whole template including the analysis item to PDF format. First of all everything worked properly, but the fixed widths have not been applied to the PDF. According to [SAP Support Note 1336188|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1336188] and additional explainations from [SDN Thread 1558536|Column Width Modification not working in Print Version; we solved the problem.
Unfortunately another problem arises. Our Analysis item delivers a big number of rows which extent multiple pages. By applying the export fix width parameter all page breaks are ignored, meaning that the analysis item is never shown completely in the PDF. We tried all parameter options of the Export Function without success. It seems that the EXPORT_FIX_WIDTH is just working for analysis items, which fit on one single page by length.
Any ideas how to solve this?

  • When I export a PDF the file opens larger than resolution so it is pixelated? How do I stop this?

I have created a Indesign document of 1024 x 768 and exported it as a 72dpi PDF. The PDF is only to view on screen.
My problem is that when I export the PDF it always opens more then 100%. So everything is slightly pixelated. To see everything in focus as I want it I would need to zoom out.
Obviously I want everyone to view it as I see it so how do I get around this.
I choose 1024 x 768 just incase someone wanted to view it on a Ipad. Should I have just created it bigger to over compensate of this problem. I guess on an Ipad the PDF would just be shrunk so the whole page could be viewed and I guess that wouldn't be pixated?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Set the initial view in Acrobat Pro and resave the PDF there.

    Hi,
    thank you for your help.
I am using an Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
It is not a specific file that causes trouble, it is happening with all the documents with Hebrew fonts.
I tried the "Save as" option and the same problem happened.

  • Graphics in InDesign Export to PDF Pixelated

I lay out a small paper, containing a few ads, stories & features. These ads and features are linked INDD files and contain text and linked images in PDF, AI and PSD formats.
I recently acquired CS6. Since that point, when I export the project into PDF, many of those linked graphics appear and print badly pixelated. Converting the graphics to EPS, though, solves the issue: the graphics look fine in the PDF. While converting all the graphics to EPS would solve the issue, it would be a lot of work that I would rather avoid, if possible.
The issue seems to be in either my settings or a corrupt installation, because when I package the project and send it to a friend, he can export to PDF with no issues. I don't believe, though, that  I've changed any settings from the default, and we're using identical presets to export.
I export my PDF's as type "Adobe PDF (Print)", using the provided preset " [Press Quality]". I'm using Win 7 Home.
Any ideas short of reinstalling? Thank you for any advice or suggestions.
A jpg made from a PDF created on my machine:
The same image, packaged & sent to my friend, who exported it with the same settings. JPG made the same method as the previous:

I would like to know if it is possible to export from Crystal Enterprise 10 to a fixed length text file similar to the text exporting option using Crystal Reports 8.5.  From Enterprise 10 I see you can export to Rich Text Format but that is not really the same.

  • Export to fixed length field format

Sometimes we need to export records from our student system as fixed length text file to integrate with other software.
Basically the report will only contains  rows of records, But we want to export it to fixed length field text file.
    And then automate the process.
We also have Crystal enterprise server.  What is the easy and best way to accomplish this?
    Thanks

Sorry.  Please ignore my last message.  It went into the wrong thread.
There is one huge problem with exporting to Fixed Length in 8.5.  The Fixed Length will truncate any trailing white space.  So if you have a could that's 5 characters long but the current value is only 3, it will only be 3 characters long.
To get around this, I've had to create a formula for each column in the report and check the lenght of the field and pad or truncated accordingly.
    For example:
    If Length ({Table.FIELD1}) > 10 Then
         {Table.FIELD1} [1 to 10]
    Else {Table.FIELD1} & ReplicateString ("*", (10 - Length ({Table.FIELD1}));
So this column should be 10 characters long.  If the field is longer than 10 characters it will truncate it to 10, otherwise it will pad the extra spaces with *.  You can't use spaces to pad because the export driver will truncate them so I decided * were the best choice because for my purposes I knew that character would never be used.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Export Data To Fixed Length File

    Hello,
I have a requirement to export a couple of files that need to be in a fixed length format.
I've tried opening the dataset and writing the records passing the column that the records should appear:
        WRITE /, field1, 10 field2, etc...
I've also tried to do it through SAP_CONVERT_TO_CSV_FORMAT and the text version as well.
Is there a predefined function that will allow me to export as fixed length?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Jeff,
Following is the code to do the same:
DATA: file TYPE string VALUE `flights.dat`,
          wa   TYPE spfli.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS TYPE x.
OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    SELECT *
           FROM spfli
           INTO wa.
      ASSIGN wa TO CASTING.
      TRANSFER TO file.
    * TRANSFER LENGTH 200 to file.
    ENDSELECT.
    CLOSE DATASET file.
    Best regards,
    Prashant

  • Export a PDF and convert the vector-graphics to pixel-graphics

    Hey,
i want to export a PDF out of indesign CS3 and convert all vector-graphics to pixel-graphics.
Is there any solution, maybe a plugin, to do this?
    Thanks!!!!

You could apply a transparency effect to your vector objects that doesn't effect their appearance and make a flattener preset which forces everything to rasters—then export a flattened PDF using that preset. Why do need rasters?

  • Bookmarks failing to export to PDF properly FIXED!

I have been plagued by the bug that has affected many others with my exported PDF having the random bookmark (or perhaps all bookmarks in the document) that point to either the wrong page or no page. This requires manually fixing the bookmarks with Acrobat after export, which is to say the least an annoying bug, especially when working with long documents.
I believe I FINALLY discovered what this incredibly vexing problem is and how to fix it. After peering into the bookmark properties in Acrobat for the individual bookmarks that did not link properly, it seems that this problem occurs when the text anchor that the bookmark points to contains anything other than ASCII text. Here's the issue: if the bookmark was created by selecting text that contains non-ASCII characters and then pressing the "Create new bookmark" button on the bookmarks panel, a bookmark anchor tag is placed at the beginning of that selected text. The underlying name of this anchor is NOT the same thing as the bookmark name in the bookmarks panel - you can rename the bookmark all you like, but the tag is still going to point to the same text on the page that you selected when you created the bookmark. When InDesign exports this file to a PDF, it is going to export three things: the name of the bookmark, the name of the tag the bookmark is supposed to point to, and the tag itself in its proper location in the document. Unfortunately, there's the bug: InDesign exports the name of the bookmark and the correct name of the tag it is supposed to point to with Unicode characters intact, but the tag itself has its name mangled. When you look at the bookmark properties in Acrobat, you can see this: select one of the bookmarks that does not export properly, right-click and select Properties, choose the Actions tab, select the Edit button, then with "Use named destination" selected, choose the Browse button. You will now see a long list of all the text anchors in your document. Find the name of the bookmark you are working with, and you will see that its name is mangled: if you were, for example, using "Champs Elysée", the name in this list will show up as something like "Champs ElysÖe". You can go ahead and select this item at this point, and it will fix your problem - but only on that PDF. To fix the problem permanently, you must rename the tag in InDesign.
To fix the issue, you must entirely delete the bookmark that is causing the problem, since there is no way to edit the properties of the bookmark tag in question. Choose Show Hidden Characters, and delete the light blue colon symbol in your text. Now, place the cursor at the beginning of the text you want bookmarked, and without selecting anything, or by carefully selecting only text that is ASCII-only, choose the "Create new bookmark" button on the bookmarks panel. You will now have a new bookmark, and if you didn't select any text, it will be named "Bookmark xx" where xx is the sequential number of however many bookmarks you have in your document. You may now name this bookmark anything you like, and feel free to use Unicode characters in the bookmark name - this will export properly and will not affect the link. Place the bookmark in the proper order, and voila! Problem solved! The bookmark will export correctly forever more.
Perhaps if someone reading this thread can pass this on to an Adobe programmer in the InDesign group, we can FINALLY get this bug worked out of the system! For now, the workaround is to always just place your cursor where you want your bookmark to be in InDesign, hit the "create new bookmark" button on the bookmark panel, let InDesign name it "Bookmark xx" in sequential order, and then just manually change the name of the bookmark in the panel to whatever you want. It's a little more of a pain, but it will ensure that the bookmark anchor tag has no non-ASCII characters in it, and it will also ensure that each bookmark tag is anchored to a unique name, so even bookmarks that you have nested in different places with the same names point to the proper locations.

For many months now, we've had problems with random bookmarks jumping to the wrong topic and page.  This occurs in very large documents with many topics and sub-topics where the PDF document is generated by Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 from a Word original.  The Table of Contents works in both the Word and PDF versions; it's just many random bookmarks in the PDF version that don't work. I've posted in other topics (here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2667195#2667195 and here: http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?pid=61614), but with no resolution.
In our case, the bookmarks are generated for all Table of Contents entries, and the entries do NOT contain any non-ASCII characters. (In the PDF document, there are no "Destinations", just bookmarks automatically generated for the TOC entries.)

How can I configure Crystal Report detail records so they can be exported in a fixed legth .txt record format?
    Using Crystal Reports 9.2.3.884

    Post Author: SKodidine

I have created CR detail records fixed length of 400 and then exported them to text.
This is how I did it, there might be other ways and I even though I created them in CR XI, it should be similar in CR 9.
Let us assume that your fixed length record needs to be 100 bytes long.  Create a formula with all the fields concatenated, that you would otherwise display in the details section.  Create a second formula that will use the space function to put trailing spaces.
Here is an example for a fixed length record of 400:
Here are my two fields in my record that have been concatenated.
    Formula 1: RecordType & totext(BatchNumber,"0000000");
    Formula 2: {@Formula1} & space(400 - length({@Formula1}));
