i have HP Pavilion 15-n242se Notebook PC and recently downgrade to win 7 from win 8.1, currently i have issue with my battery life on win 8.1 battery is good but i feel that on win 7 there is low battery timing
i think its chipset drivers issue plz hel me out for this

Satellite C850D-11C PSCC2E - CHIPSET driver for Win 7 64bit needed

Hi,
I've been stuck in a long convo over at the techsupportforum and was finally told to try here.
So, I own a Satellite C850D-11C PSCC2E with Windows 7 x64.
I can't seem to find the chipset driver for my laptop in the list of drivers.
I first tried to install all available drivers, but it's obvious without a chipset I will have problems, and I do.
The USB ports don't work like they should etc.
Where is the chipset driver for the C850D-11C PSCC2E?

Your notebook is equipped with an Ati (AMD) graphic chip.
This means that the chipset must be from AMD too.
According to some information which i found in internet, the AMD A68M Chipset should be built in the notebook.
Furthermore as far as I know the ATI chipset driver is part of the ATI/AMD graphic card driver and therefore you should install the GPU driver to get the chipset driver installed

Need Chipset Driver for USB support

This Windows XP-SP3 PC has 4xUSB2 or 2xUSB3 on-board ports, and all have failed. All USB devices are yellow-flagged in device manager.
I have run SFC \SCANNOW and it runs to completion, and I have tried right-clicking on a yellow-flagged USB entry in Device Manager and selecting Update Driver, but that only results in the following dialog:
Cannot Install This Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:

An error occurred during the installation of the device:
The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF file was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor stop
It has been suggested to me that I should try to obtain the Chipset Driver for USB support. Running Speccy reveals the following about the mainboard:

Unfortunately your notebook model is not supported for Win7 32bit but I have checked notebook specification and your Satellite has Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset.
The same chipset has Tecra A11 and is supported for Win7 32bit so you can install THIS driver.

Seeking Chipset Driver

I am in search of an AMD Chipset Driver. I have an HP Pavilion p6-2100 Desktop PC that came stock with Windows 7 64 bit. I have since upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro. I have contacted AMD for assistance in locating this driver. AMD responded stating that I needed to contact my motherboards manufacturer, Pegatron. I contacted Pegatron and was told to contact HP. Can someone please help me get out of this loop? I attempted to access the driver section for my specific HP computer but the only Chipset driver offered was for the original Windows 7 64 bit driver.

Km2m shuts down during boot after running via chipset driver install

Ive recently purchased a new computer with a km2m Combo mobo and am having trouble getting it properly configured and running.
I attempted to run the "One Touch Setup" on the drivers and utilities CD that was supplied with the system. Reeceived a message to first install the VIA Chipset drivers. I ran the chipset driver install and simply clicked NEXT on all the screens accepting the default options. The install appears to complete successfully and restarts the pc.
during restart the pc abruptly powers off!
I can reboot the system in safe mode.
I've run msconfig and disbabled everything and the system still powers of during a normal boot.
If I restore the registy (scanreg /restore) the system again boots properly.
What causes this anomaly and how do I resolve it? Is there some sort of hardware incompatibility? I'm stumped!!!

Yes, problem with the video card sounds plausible! Any not so successful updates recently? It is sometimes to make a good uninstall, which is required to make a good install.
4in1 drivers should - esp. with W98 and ME - be installed while in SafeMode and with all autostarting programs disabled, for example Antivirus and utilities.
Else, since you have a damaged regedit, I would reinstall Windows. You might have done something for example an upgrade or new install the registry, not healthy, has made a note of. Some utilities also overwrite and change system files without good results.

HI have HP 15-r074tu - with DOS..
I have installed Win 7 Home premium - 64 Bit.
Please note that this is the first time I am tring to install the drivers as the Laptop was bought - 25th OCT 2014 with Dos.
I have Few issues
1. I have Tried installing the following
Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver

Version - 10.18.10.3408
But it says that " it does not meet minimum requirments" and the driver does not install..! - I do not have any special graphic card on this its just the plain intel Graphics
Can you please share the correct Graphics card Driver..
2. In my keyboard - none of the special functions work - even after pressing Fn (or) without pressing
Basic mode of the keyboard is ok.. (Unable to reduce the brightness, unable to mute or increase or reduce volume..)
- Do I need install any keyboard drivers - Currently it says "ps2 keyboard" in driver manager..
- Do I need to install the touch pad software to solve this?
- or is this because of Graphics card driver missing..?
3. lastly wireless, blue tooth and PCI drivers - not to be found in the HP Site..
So I tried a old software for blue tooth... but the Wireless radio button is off/Amber and unable to turn back on due to above mentioned keyboard issue..
i believe the keyboard issue is due to driver is not installed..

Hi: Try the chipset driver directly from Intel...the second file is the auto install file. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- If that driver does not install the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller, which the chipset driver should install, download the first file listed above (zip file). Unzip and extract the contents to its folder. Go to the device manager and click on the above device needing the driver. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the unzipped driver folder. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way. Then reboot.

Coprocessor Driver Need For Pavillion dv6661se Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 and the device manager informs me that there is no driver for the coprocessor for my Pavillion dv6661se. Where can I locate the driver for it. I looked at the drivers for my laptop but it isn't listed. I don't know where to look for it and the trouble shooter in Windows 7 can't locate it either.

K8N Neo Platinum/Chipset Driver

I'm having a problem.
I play WOW a lot and have been using the same old 66.93 video drivers for my eVGA 6800gt with no problems. Well after purchasing BF2 it said i needed a newer driver so i got the latest ones from eVGA (77.77). Well BF2 played kind of wierd still but WOW pretty much was unplayable....it would freeze every 20 seconds or so. So then i went back and loaded up my old 66.93 drivers again....WOW worked perfectly again and BF2 was also playable.
Now i can play both games at this time, however i'm sure i'll run into another problem down the road with the old 66.93 driver, it will just go out of date eventually.
So my question is, am i having this problem because i have the original chirpset drivers that came with my K8N Neo Platinum board? Do i need to get the new chipset drivers?
its a nforce3 250gb chipset driver...but i'm not sure what version (i'm at work). If this is what i need what do i unload on my computer first before going to Nvidia's site and downloading the newest chipset drivers? I'm used to loading and unloading video drivers but i've never done a chipset driver replacement yet...a little guidence would be nice (i'm sure it's simple i just don't want to mess something up).
oh...and i also used the MSI Live Update to update my bios already so that's done.

I don't see the point in updating a graphics driver if the older one delivers all the functionality of the card. It's not like many other drivers - newer graphics drivers can make performance worse instead of better, because they may be optimised for features of newer cards. The 66.93 drivers should do the job OK. They won't go "out of date" because they will always be as old as your card. It's the card which may go out of date compared with the requirements of future games.
I also don't think a newer game should require a newer driver. The driver is to enable functionality of the hardware. It cannot add new functionality that isn't there (that's not to say that a driver can't improve existing functionality if it's written better than a previous version or includes bug fixes).
What the game can legitimately say is that it requires functionality that your card doesn't have, but I don't suppose that's your problem. It could be worth updating your chipset driver package if you don't have the latest release - you can use Live Update to check that. If it says a newer version is available (5.10 is the latest public release for Windows XP 32-bit) I would download it, uninstall the current drivers (both chipset & graphics) in control panel, install the new chipset drivers & then re-install the graphics.
But maybe the problem is unrelated to these drivers. Have you got the latest directx runtime installed? That might be what your new game needs. You can use Windows Update to check for that.

K9A Platinum Chipset Driver Issue in XP

hey, found an old copy of XP Pro in my CD's. Installed, but having some issues when I am trying to install chipset driver package. With chipset package it starts up, gets to where you choose 'Express' or 'Custom' (with custom brings up the available installs) then pops up a dialog box saying "Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or OS. Setup will now exit", then another saying "Setup was unable to complete the Installation. Try to set up your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup"? My VGA driver package from Sapphire (specifically for my cards installed just fine.
Any clues as to why?
(OS is pre SP1, updated before and after trying to install chipset driver package) need help pleeeaase.

Intel 9 series chipset driver problem

i know this is intel driver's problem, but as a manufacturer who use intel products especially chipset, can anyone tell intel that their "9 series" chipset driver is totally crap, absurd and so on? for those who are using this series of chipset, try checking their chipset driver via device manager and click any of "intel 9 series chipset family" driver under system devices or "intel 9 series chipset family usb..." driver under usb controllers and you can find that its driver provider are from microsoft and dated 2006. right, it is installed by operating system and chipset installer utility did nothing.
until intel knows about this thinsg, those who using 9 series chipset are using drivers from microsoft.

The fact they're dated 2006 doesn't mean anything. As long as thing is working fine, there's no need of updating. Possibly you're one out of xxx people that has some problems with it, but Intel (nor MSI, M$ and so on) couldn't really catch the issue since millions of tests before release is impossible.

Let's hope a couple things: that you have bootable clones of your drives also; that the backup drive for TimeMachine has over 3x capacity of the data you plan and are storing. I would also switch TM backup drives so you have a 2nd.
Fragmented free space affecting performance happens when the drive is too full which may mean there isn't enough free space for a full backup set.
1.5TB for backing up 500GB, while WD Green 3TB is $140 and WD Black 1.5TB is, about the same price.
I'd be worried about the integrity and directory, and whether you can afford to lose that drive. Defragging is also a very slow operation. the ideal: to just clone a drive, or start over with another drive and wait. cloning TM volumes has not been done or has it? SuperDuper hoped to but I don't think they or Bombich's CCC made it there.
Trouble with highly fragged is when free space gets to 20% normally, 1/3 or so though for TM volumes, and finding where and a chunk of space for the file being written. Does TM use large spare image files of like 2GB?
