Intel 9 series chipset driver problem

hello
i know this is intel driver's problem, but as a manufacturer who use intel products especially chipset, can anyone tell intel that their "9 series" chipset driver is totally crap, absurd and so on? for those who are using this series of chipset, try checking their chipset driver via device manager and click any of "intel 9 series chipset family" driver under system devices or "intel 9 series chipset family usb..." driver under usb controllers and you can find that its driver provider are from microsoft and dated 2006. right, it is installed by operating system and chipset installer utility did nothing.
until intel knows about this thinsg, those who using 9 series chipset are using drivers from microsoft.

Hi,
Do you actually have any problems? Because Quote
chipset driver is totally crap, absurd and so on?
doesn't explain anything.
Follow >>Posting Guide<< and if possible we'll help you with the problem.
The fact they're dated 2006 doesn't mean anything. As long as thing is working fine, there's no need of updating. Possibly you're one out of xxx people that has some problems with it, but Intel (nor MSI, M$ and so on) couldn't really catch the issue since millions of tests before release is impossible.

  • Intel Chipset Driver Problem

I have the following problems when installing bootcamp driver 3.1 to newest Macbook pro 15' i7 core,
Intel(R)Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B36 has a driver prblem
Intel(R)Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B3B has a driver prblem
    What are these controllers?

In order to promote a solution, I filed a bug report at
    http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/
I assume that Apple has to resolve this problem with a firmware update, because it seems to be independent from the chipset drivers being used. I could reproduce the problem on different Windows versions, including Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
It is possible for me to use the USB ports to a certain degree (i.e. external media like hard drives or memory sticks), until the system becomes completely unresponsive. By using a remote session I could verify that the system was still running, but that all USB devices including keyboard, trackpad and mouse lost the connection to the system.

  • Should I use MSI's or Intel's chipset driver with a G31M3-L V2 motherboard?

I just purchased an MSI G31M3-L V2 motherboard, bundled with an Intel E5200 CPU from Fry’s Electronics, and I plan to build a computer with the other parts (listed below in the signature) that I already have.
This will be only my second build so I was doing some research to see that I do it right.  One thing I wanted to make sure about was the proper order for installing drivers since that appears to be important.
All seem to agree that the first driver to be installed after the basic Windows installation is the chipset driver.  Some even say that the chipset driver should be installed before even installing Windows patches, updates and service packs.  Others say to complete the Windows installation first, but all agree that the chipset driver should be the first driver.  Ok, so far so good.
There is a driver on the MSI web site labeled “Intel INF Drivers for 945/955/965/975/Q3x/P3x/G3x/X3x Chipsets.”  It has a version number of  8.3.0.1013 and an update date of 2008-01-16.
Well that’s great, but in my internet travels today I also came across a chipset driver on the Intel web site which also seems to be for the G31 chipset.  It is labeled “INF Update Utility – Primarily for Intel 4, 3, 900 Series Chipsets.”  It has a version number of 9.0.0.1008 and a date of 8/2/2008.  A look into the release notes for this item indicates that it is for Windows XP and the G31 Express chip set, among others.
Well, of course, my first impulse is to use the Intel supplied driver since it has a higher version number and a later release date, so it must be the better driver, right?
Then I got to thinking:  why wouldn’t MSI have this, apparently, newer chipset driver on its web site?  Is it possible that I would be better off with the, apparently, older driver on the MSI site?  Is it possible, perhaps, that MSI may have made changes to the driver they offer that makes it better for an MSI board than the, apparently, newer Intel driver?  Now I don’t know what to think!
So which should I use, the version 8 driver from MSI or the version 9 driver from Intel?

I am building a computer with the parts listed below, but I thought that since the MSI G31M3-L V2 motherboard has on board video, and sound, it might be simpler to start out with that and add my video, and sound, cards later.  Of course this means I will have to install the Intel VGA driver and the Realtek audio driver and then add the nVIDIA and Creative drivers when I add those parts.
On the one hand it seems like to get the computer up and stable first and then add in other parts later would be a good idea but on the other hand everyone seems to suggest that the graphics driver should pretty much be the next one installed after the chipset driver, so If I wait to add the nVIDIA card later I’m not really following this guideline.
What do you experienced system builders do in a similar situation, put everything in all at once or start out with the on board stuff first and add the cards in later?

  • Satellite A30: Sound card & Chipset driver problem.

    Hi all,
I'm about to get REALLY crazy!! I'd really appreciate if anyone can help me..
    My story is:
I've lost all my recovery&driver CDs that were given to me in 2004 . But, I had to format my pc at this weekend due to many system reasons(bugs, unable to connect to net, etc).
My first step was I downloaded all kind of drivers for Satellite A30 from Toshiba site. And I got XP professional SP2 from my friend and installed it. But after finishing all the installations below is the result:
    1) NO SOUND :(
    2) Question marks on 2 items that are a)Multimedia Sound Controller and b)PCI Modem in Device Manager/Other Devices.
    3) Chipset installation error message: Intel(R) Chipset installation utility requires chipset platform supported by the supporting operating system. Please read system requirements section in readme.txt for further info.
As far as I checked in forums my chipset was not properly installed, but, when I try yo install the Intel chipset 895PE (csutil-sa30-xp-5011015.zip) that I downloaded from download address http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com, it gives error message and some people tells to install drivers in a right order as, first install XP with SP1 and then install chipset utilitt, then install SP2 etc..But this seems to be not easy for me..
I can really repeat my FORMAT process again, but in which order..
    thanks..

    Hi,
Just to inform you that my problem was solved by itself :)
I've reformatted my laptop and installed the original XP Pro SP2 again by following the instructions.
Sound problem was solved automatically, no chipset utility installation required..
The sound problem was probably caused due to missing Microsoft KB835221 update for SP1, and KB888111 for SP2, which then was solved with the original latest XP..
    Rgrds..

  • Intel 945GM display driver problem after installing Vista on A100 PSAA8

After upgrading to Vista on Satellite *A100-207 PSAA8E-180049EN*, display adaptor "*Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family*" does not work. In Device Manager, it reports "*This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)*". Using the Vista driver on Toshiba Website and also tired latest driver from Intel Website to no avail. Re-installed all Vista drivers in the order recommended on Toshiba Website. Also tried multiple removals and re-additons of various drivers to no avail.
If someone out there has the same model, I would appreciate if you could send a snapshot of device manager screen (collapsed to show sub-devices under main devices). Also a second snapshot of device manager showing resources (Device Manager / View / Resources by type). My e-mail address is: [email protected]
Greatful for any other ideas or suggestions.

Problem resolved by a fresh install of Vista followed by all Vista drivers in order as described in the document on the Toshiba website. Thanks to all who reviewed this question. Don't hesitate to e-mail me for details at [email protected] Happy New Year!

It boots Ubuntu fine.  Arch linux doesn't complain either.  I only found out about the problem when I tried to pacman -Syu straight after the install - there was no networking.  ifconfig had done its job but there was no routing table.  I manually added route add default gw 192.168.0.1 and edited /etc/resolv.conf to make sure I could get to my router but, again, it wouldn't work.  The forcedeth module had been loaded (ethernet driver) so I took a look at lspci (details in very first post) and can see that it's appears to be an issue with the PCI bus (the ethernet hangs off the PCI bus)I ran hwdetect --modules and pasted the output into /etc/rc.conf and rebooted.  Still no joy.
The mobo is an ASRock 939N68PV-GLAN.  It has an nVidia chipset (GeForce 7050 NB + nForce 630A MCP SB).  From my lspci results it would appear the problem is with the 630A MCP.  As Ubuntu works and Arch doesn't I'm perplexed.  And yes I've googled and followed what little help there is around.  Nothing has worked so far.  Hopefully someone will have experienced a problem with either the same mobo or the 630A MCP and they can tell me what needs to be done.

  • (Self Solved) HP Pavilion M7 Intel HD 4000 Driver Problem & Question

    I...i am kinda mad.
Ever since i formatted my laptop a few months ago, in ANY Game i play, i CANNOT choose (or even SEE for that matter) a 1280 x 720 resolution option. Before i formatted, i could see it all the time.
If its a Fan Game (Doujin), i can see it because its not a retail game and its graphical options are dependant on the game itself, and not ur system.
But any retail game, i cannot see a 1280 x 720 resolution option.
Everything else works PERFECTLY fine, but this right here is annoying.
When i went to see my driver version for my Graphics card, it was set at 1/21/2012...
    ...What...Why?
And the same thing when i checked the Drivers download page here, 2012. Everything.
Why? Why are u guys only at 2012?
The official Intel Page has Drivers up to 5/21/2014.
Why are u 2 years behind when updated drivers can EASILY improve my performance and experience.
I cannot even manually install them because my laptop see's the OEM Drivers as the "newest".
This is drastically reducing my peformance and i beleive this is happening ever since i updated to your "Newest" Driver (2012).
I would like to know if there is a workaround for this and at the same time, why your lastest drivers are only 2012, when intels newest Drivers are set at today.
    Update:
Nevermind, solved it myself, rolled back my driver to base and manually updated.
Still HP, theres no excuse to only have 2012 Drivers guys, after i updated i saw like 6 more Resolution Options in all games, and my FPS in games dramatically boosted , 2 - 3x's. and my PC's actual performance increased as well. Update guys, update.

    Hi,
HP has version 10.18 but only for Windows 8.1:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-124655-1
I think for Windows 7, the testing process is still going before release to public.

  • Intel D946GZIS network driver - problem

I'm trying to get Zfd 4.01 ir5 to work on the abovementioned board,
which has an internel intel(r) 82562G integrated adapter, which is not
    recognized by the kernel.
ifconfig gives nothing back, i've tried insmod -f e100 / e1000 (with paths),
but this gives back "init_module: no such device".
intel however, distributes packages containing only the e1000.ko file,
but this is only usable on newer (2.6) kernels.
Kernel version we're using is 2.4.32-pre3.
Does anybody know which module is needed for this adapter?
ir7 is (currently) not an option, since we're in a bit of a version
freeze for Zfd at the moment (I'm calling it "being scared of change").
    Any help appreciated!

When trying an old eepro.o module, I'm getting "init_module: Device or
    resource busy" ..
I found an old Redhat 7 thread that describes a problem with the eepro.o
    module
and the initialization of the hardware, but the mentioned fix doesn't work.

  • Right, MacBook Pro 17" early 2011(Built March) and my new OCZ sata III 6G not working, when is Apple going to admit there is a problem with the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. In System Information it says "Link Speed: 6 Gigabit" which is sata III.

My MacBook Pro 17" early 2011(built March) and my new OCZ sata III 6G are not working together, when is Apple going to admit there is a problem with the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. In System Information it says "Link Speed: 6 Gigabit" which is sata III and in my MacBook Pro it does not work.
Now MacBook Pro 17" early 2011 built May onward do not have this problem it was fixed in the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. (So there is a problem). Cam I have my MacBook Pro fixed please.

After biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it.

  • Intel Sandybridge 6 series chipset recall

I just completed building an Intel I7 2600K system with the MSI-P67A-C43 motherboard.  I just found out today that intel is taking a $700million charge due to problems with the 6 series chipsets designed for use with second generation I5 and I7 sandybridge processors.  The problem is the chipset degrades over time slowing down anything connected to SATA, like your hard drive and DVD.  Will I be receiving a motherboard replacement when available, or should I return the product immediately? I sure hope I receive my chipset replacement out of that $700m rather than suffer performance and reliability loss. How long will it be before we find out what we are suppose to do?
    Thank you

One possible bright side to this is that (is is said by Intel) that the derivative Cougar chipsets are not affected (or have already been fixed).
As this includes the Z67, it may be possible there introduction will be pushed up a bit.
For those who haven't heard, this guy combines the attributes of both the OC P67 and the use of on board video of the H67, plus a few more goodies.
Just another user with a positive outlook.
In the mean time I'm going to attempt a return of my board and wait until the dust settles a bit.  After all, the silicone in the CPU doesn't rust.   (Does it?   )

  • Intel 845E Max Series Chipset Based

    Hi,
i have few questions need to ask.
i'm using Intel 845E Max Series Chipset Based (MS-6566E v1.0 ATX Mainboard)
i want to know is that, is my this mainboard can support the harddisk which have 160gb of capacity?
will it slow down my p4 1.7 speed if not support that high of capacity?
what can i do in order to let this mainboard support it?
what information u need to know to help me solve my problem?
    thanks.

The worst case would be it only recognizes approximately 130 GB of it.  Check mobo manual for hard drive support.  also check for bios updates to add support.  Try partitioning it into 2 drives.  I know that works when OS is the limiting factor.  Not sure if that works when hardware is the limiting factor.  If you have not already bought the drive the safest answer is to buy a 120 GB drive.  The other solution is to purchase a PCI controller card that supports 160 GB drives (sometimes even packaged with the drive if you do not have the drive yet).

  • HP G72-a30EM Intel graphic driver problem

Hello, I am trying to install fresh Windows 7 on HP G72-a30EM laptop, and I encountered a problem while installing Intel graphic driver. If I install it (doesn't matter if the one from HP site or the one from Intel site), computer boots to black screen (turned off), but I can hear Windows 7 login sound. If I don't install it, I can only select two crappy screen resolutions.  I have already instaled Intel chipset driver, AMD driver, but nothing seems to work for me. Any help would be appreciated

    Hi there ,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are having trouble with the graphics drivers after a fresh install of Windows 7. I am happy to help with this.  You want to install the AMD driver from the HP website as it is for switchable graphics and includes the Intel driver as well in the same package. AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver. Download that version of the driver and save it to your notebook or some external device. Then, I would advise you to completely uninstall the Intel Graphics driver and the AMD driver as well. Then restart your system, and install the AMD driver from the HP website and see if that works for you.

  • Intel 7205 Chipset Problem (MS-6565)

I've posted here a few times referencing a problem I've been having with the machine I built (detailed in signature block).
I've had some kind, but unhelpful responses from folks on this forum -- thanks to everyone who responded.
In short, I've been plauged (sp?) with graphics device failures.  Microsoft error reporting rersponds that it is something wrong with the graphics driver of card.
I found some information in a review of the new Intel 875 chipset based motherboard.   Please read at:
    http://www.motherboards.org/articlesd/motherboard-reviews/1245_1.html
Basically, it states that the 7205 has a problem with AGP.
I have sent numerous (okay -- only three) querries to MSI, but have had NO RESPONSE.  If any of the senior moderators have an inside track with MSI, I would appreciate your asking if they intend to do anything to address this problem (fix with a bios update -- replace cards, etc.
    Thanks,

MSI isn't going to answer any questions on this board becaused they seem to have washed their hands of any responsibility.  I had (repeat HAD) the same board with the same problem.  After two months I stopped waiting for MSI to answer me back.  They never did.  Look around these forums and you'll find that this is typical of this company.
Here's the best advice I can give you.  Take your MSI board and walk to the nearest trash recepticle.  Proceed to hold this piece of&^!$ board of it and let go.
I took a loss on this board and I can assure you that I will never make another MSI MIStake again.  I went out and got a cheapo GIGABYTE board and had ZERO problems with it from day one.

  • MacBooks w/ Intel x3100 Chipset = Problems.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else using newer MacBooks with the intel x3100 chipset are having problems with their computer? I purchased my MacBook about two months ago. It is a Black MacBook: 2.2ghz Intel Duo, 1 gig ram, intel x3100, leopard 10.5.2. I installed world of warcraft and the burning crusade, downloaded the patches and logged in. WoW crashed after about 30 seconds of gameplay, this happens consistently in full screen or windowed mode. Also when watching a longer flash video or playing some flash games my browser and/or entire computer will crash. I was using the latest firefox, but have switched back to safari3, as it seems to run considerably smoother. anyway just wondering what people experiences are with the macbooks with the intel x3100 chip.

frankly I gave up on gaming on mine. I pay WoW on a 1.8 Sempron, 1GB ram, with a Geforce 6600 and my 2.16, dual-core, 2GB V2 macbook can't keep up at all. With the settings on Low it was barely passable compared to a very-low-end PC. Benchmarks show the 3100 is only 50% better than nothing. Blizzard heavily hacked WoW to work on Macbooks with the 950 chipset, then Intel finally "fixed" the major hardware missing issues with 3100 opening up a new batch of stuff that "almost" works like a normal GPU should. Blizzard made a great attempt to get WoW on a sub-2003 graphics subsystem... but by the time you strip it down, you're not playing the game as intended and it suffers.
The Macbook is a great computer, personally I like the fact it's smaller than the Pros and easier to maintain. It seems less fragile than a Pro, and easier to grab-n-go. Comes with great software and is leaps above a PC. (I had one of those Dell 700m machines for 2 years at work as my full time machine and loved it, the macbook is a sleeeker, faster machine that doesn't feel "hacked" when you look at the bottom) But they chose to really shoot any kind of gaming with the macbook in the foot.
What I'd really like to see is a blackbook priced macbook (non-pro options) with the 8400 chipset (now that pro is 8600 it shouldn't conflict), that would be in line with other PC makers that put that chip in notebooks cheaper than the macbook.
