Chrome effects like eye candy

Hi, i'm the owner and creator of 2cooldesign.co.za & tshirtprinting.co.za & have come across a little issue, i had CS4 and upgraded to CS6 and the eye candy i have doesn't install onto CS6 and want to create a cool chrome effect with the eye candy plug-in.. any suggestions for free plug-in or effect that can offer same results, this is for a cool t-shirt design

Lion - Turn Off Eye Candy, Visuals, Extra Effects

Hi,
Apple, please listen.
I just want to work on my iMac with Lion.
All these animated visuals, eye candy, and extra effects are quite annoying.
How does one control these or turn them off?

why? oh why Nokia? please offer a way to turn OFF THE VISUAL GARBAGE! I am a nokia fan because of the speed and efficiency of your software NOT EYE CANDY! I have dumped a cell carrier costing me $1000's for 5 phone lines to be with you on tmobile! and you dont even have 3g support for them! I WOULD BUY ALL E63'S EXCEPT THE E72 HAS OVI MAPS AND more memory, faster processor and way better looks! except of course for the 'eye candy'! GET RID OF IT! MAKE YOUR DEVICES EFFICIENT! thanks. I have spent weeks working thru all these settings to make this work. Now all I need to do is to figure out how to have the ui stop popping up messages such as prompting to connect to the inet? and why cant I simply choose when I want to connect to which inet connection??

Enough Already.... Turning off Eye Candy Animations

I love this app...
Now that is out a the way...
It kills me to have to watch all those wild animations.... Fades etc... Every time I move the mouse from one window to another...
I would like to turn them off...
WHY on earth do we need to see a clip being disabled.... FADE OUT... Just set the opacity to ZERO instead of wasting processing power.
Moving the mouse from i.e. even lib. to timeline makes the timeline turn "fade in" like some 5$ flash website programmed by an amateur...
Does anyone REALLY wanna watch the inpected and color boards.. Slide on... Or would you prefer to just have them appear instantly ?
If anyone knows how to turn off all those eye candy animations I would love to know about it...

No... I can turn off skimming all I want, hitting i.e V to disable a clip makes it fade out to a state of gray instead of just being gray...
In the colorboard click on correction one's right-arrow to open the color correction tools.. It will slide on...
all those effects...

KDE Eye Candy

Hello all you KDE users!
I want to put together a temporary KDE Eye Candy repository with a view to adding all the pkgs to the AUR and then to [community] for the most popular. Some pkgs already exist in AUR but I want to tidy them up and standardize them. The name should depnd on kde-look classification. I am proposing the following names for KDE Eye Candy pkgs:
kdedecor-$name - for kwin decor pkgs
kdestyle-$name - for styles/themes
kdeicons-$name - for icon pkgs
kdesplash-$name - for splash screens
I will collate all existing pkgs with new naming schemes into a temporary repo - from there we will move them back to the AUR.
We also need to figure out exactly what the dependecies are: kdelibs, qt, kdeartwork...what?!
Hope to get some willing contributors!

Eye Candy Buttons

I had version 3 of Eye Candy, then moved to Eye Candy 4000. When doing some of the emboss commands with the Buttons feature, I always went back to the version 3 effects because they were quicker and more intuitive. Neither of them work on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine, so I bought Eye Candy 6. I am have a lot of trouble duplicating the same bevel effects in the new version and am now looking for a plug-in that works much like the old Eye Candy 3. Version 6 takes three screens to adjust what used to take only 1. I know I can use the Bevel and Emboss layer effect in Photoshop, but I still like the way Eye Candy handled it.
Does anyone know of a similar product?

Though my definition of "eye-candy" has evolved (devolved?) over some time, and now I'm pretty sure my shortlist involves conky and that's it. Dzen if you're on xmonad, etc.

Eye Candy plugins, all of a sudden, don't work anymore...

I have FW CS5 on Windows 7 (64 bit). I have been using various Eye Candy plugins (by Alien Skin) for about a year, and they worked fine. But yesterday, seemingly for no reason, they all stopped working (Eye Candy 5 [Impact, Nature, Textures], Image Doctor, Xenofex 2). When I access them via the Properties panel, and I click on one of them, nothing happens. And when I access them via the drop-down menu at the top of the UI, under Filters, I get an error message: "Could not complete your request. An internal error occurred."
I have tried re-installing the plugins and FW, but that didn't change anything. I deleted the preferences and that didn't help either. All my other plugins work fine. Any ideas?

Thanks for posting. We had to discontinue support for Fireworks due to multiple issues caused by the Live Effects. At this time we do not have any plans to bring back support for Fireworks, but that could change. I can not make any promises on that matter though. If you are on a Windows computer, you stand a better chance at getting it to work than if you are on a Mac, but still, the success rate on Windows is about 50%.
Since the gold standard for plug-ins is Photoshop compatiblity, Fireworks should in theory handle them. Since it won't it's likely Adobe has either inadvertently broken something, or they are only allowing older plugins to run. Since we are always updating and using the latest versions of software to create out plug-ins, this creates an extra layer of possible problems. Eitherway, complaining to Adobe in mass, would be the best route to take. Im sure it seems like the requests go into a void, but if you get a lot of people asking for the same thing, you may get a response.
Rest assured, if we ever decided to bring back Fireworks support, we will scream it from the top of every mountain.
If you don't mind me asking, what other plug-ins do people use in Fireworks, besides Eye Candy?

Alien Skin Eye Candy 7 incompatible with Fireworks - when will this be fixed?

Alien Skin Eye Candy 6 worked fine with my Fireworks CS4. Then Alien Skin updated me to Eye Candy 7. While Eye Candy pops up and looks beautiful, even showcasing the effects within the screen, once I hit "OK", it crashes. I already complained to Alien Skin but they say it is an Adobe issues. I uninstalled Eye Candy and reinstalled it as 32-bit only in the 32-bit version of Photoshop CS4, and again it works fine in Photoshop and looks great in Fireworks, once I hit "OK" it crashes again. My boss is now pissed because basically the effects are not usable except in Photoshop, and we use primarily Fireworks. What will be done about this? The Alien Skin site says this: "I completely understand your disappointment with the lack of Fireworks support. Due to the multiple changes made by Adobe, it has become prohibitively difficult to maintain Fireworks compatibility. For this reason we had to drop support for this program." There are many people complaining about this but what is the solution? I cannot randomly start using Photoshop esp when most of my files are in PNG format, and right now it is just wasted money and extremely frustrating.

When I responded to your initial forum post on the Adobe forums, I was not 100% accurate. Eye Candy 7 does support the 32-bit Carbon API. Fireworks and Elements are both Carbon apps. However plug-in support for Fireworks is not near as good as the plug-in support for Elements. The plug-in API in Fireworks needs to be updated and improved before Fireworks will work with Eye Candy 7.

Is there a Eye Candy 4000 plug in for Fireworks CS5?

I am in great need of plug ins like the Eye Candy 4000 that was with the Macromedia Fireworks 8 program. If anyone know of where I may locate and download such a set of plug ins please be the grace of the Gods let me know.
I am hoping that Adobe Fireworks is as good as the Macromedia Fireworks 8 but I just do not have the plug ins I so badly need.

Remote performance and "eye candy"

Hello.
I am still on Tiger, and have not jumped to Leopard because I spend a lot of time remoting into my machine from work. My husband, who has Leopard, is always complaining about how his system is virtually unusable because the performance is so bad while waiting for all the Leopard "eye candy" to draw. He's tried my system from his work, and it's much much faster.
Any way to disable the "eye candy" like drop shadows and reflections and such so that remoting goes faster?

I have found that the Leopard to Leopard provided Server/Client combo to be very efficient over an internet connection.
However, I've found that using A Leopard Server with a 3rd party Client, or a 3rd party server and a Leopard Client (aka Screen Sharing.app) has not been very fast.
The JollysFastVNC client is actually fairly good for a 3rd party client.
Using all 3rd party VNC components, I have found that using the Vine Server (aka OSXvnc) and Chicken of the VNC WITH CotVNC set to use only 8 bit color (or even 16 bit color) to be fairly good over a slow DSL connection between my Mom's system and myself. Of course I'm not interested in fantastic color from my Mom's system. I'm just trying to do admin tasks without driving 300 miles one way.
I also use Vine Server and Chicken of the VNC between home and my work system using lower color density. It is servicable, although I prefer to just pull the needed files to my MacBook and work locally, then push the results back.

Fireworks Cs and EYE candy 4000 compatibility issue ?

Eye candy for MIDP

Has anyone used anything to make nice-looking interfaces? Something like J2MEPolish, Fire, or anything else?

Eye-candy for openbox?

I want to try OpenBox, and was curious what eye-candy people suggested. From the screenshots in the art section I often see the following apps used with OpenBox: awn wbar fbpanel tint pypanel conky
I like a lean system, but would also like to be able to tweak the UI and make it fun to use.
