Chromium and HTML5 Video

Does anyone else get stuttering on this video:
http://screencasters.heathenx.org/wp-co … ep101.html
It works fine in Firefox, but Chromium stutters the sound and image. I think it's related to HTML5 <video> usage because YouTube works fine in both browsers.

  • Strobe and Creative Suite? and HTML5 Video?

    The most recent Strobe release (StrobeMediaPlayback_1.5.Sprint4-full.zip), included an html5demo.html
    The Dreamweaver team just announced a Kaltura.com-based HTML5 Video Player widget.
    Is the Strobe html5demo.html any indication of HTML5 Video support by Strobe?
    Also, regarding the core SWF-based Strobe, are there any plans to provide any direct SMP integration with Creative Suite applications?
    Thanks again for your great work.
    Warmest regards,
    g

    What had me very concerned is system requirements on the box state that a "multicore" processor is required. The smaller iMac (best suited to my budget) comes with an optional dual-core i5 processor, and the larger iMac can be equipped with quad-core i7 processors. I wasn't sure if "dual-core" qualified as "multicore" in Adobe's specification.
    Thanks.

  • Does iOS 7's Safari Convert Youtube Flash and HTML5 Videos to Quicktime? How Is it Playing?

    Hi. It's good to see Safari (I have iOS 7) playing videos on sites like Youtube. Is it converting Flash and HTML5 to Quicktime or is the video playing because it's only using HTML5? How does Safari go about playing Youtube and Flash videos? Apple has solved the Flash for mobile problem then?
    Thank you. Have a great upcoming sunday mass/ great week.
    God bless.

    there is no flash for mobile problem since adobe has discontinued flash for any mobile device.
    Safari is not converting anything.
    HTML5 facilitates streaming video in a format that ios devices can natively play(mp4).
    Youtube/google is putting stuff up in html5.

  • Why doesn't Webm and HTML5 Video doesn't work on youtube with Firefox 4.0b8pre?

    I go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and enable html5. I do not get any video tags or content of the sort.
    If I do a search: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gods+gonna+cut+you+down&aq=0&webm=1
    None of those videos will appear with the video tag. It will all be adobe flash even though I don't have flash installed. Youtube used to work great with firefox4.0.

    The problem is with your user agent. it is:
    Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101111 Firefox-4.0/4.0b8pre
    While it should be:
    Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101111 Firefox / 4.0b8pre
    I have the same problem, and while I do not know its cause, I have found a workaround- install user-agent-switcher.....
    Have you installed firefox-4 with the "daily" ppa too?

  • [solved] Html5 video, Lighttpd and Firefox

    Hi,
    I installed Lighttpd because we need a simple httpd for sahring files and static content.
    I want to use the new html5 <video> tag with ogg+theora video (see http://camendesign.com/code/video_for_e … /test.html ). I cannot make it work through Lighttpd and firefox though. My simple html file is: http://paste.lighttpd.net/867 and my config file is http://paste.lighttpd.net/866 (note that I added these mime-types which were absent of the default config file:
    ".ogx" => "application/ogg",
    ".ogv" => "video/ogg",
    ".oga" => "audio/ogg",
    ".mp4" => "video/mp4",
    ".m4v" => "video/mp4",
    ".m4a" => "audio/mpeg",)
    If I load the page through Chromium, the video plays.
    I am able to play the video in firefox only if I set <source src="" /> to be hosted somewhere else, for example here: http://tinyvid.tv/vfe/big_buck_bunny.ogv I can also see the video here http://camendesign.com/code/video_for_e … /test.html under firefox just fine. It's just firefox+lighttpd that does not work.
    Is something wrong with the configuration file? Something special needs to be set?? Thanx for your help.
    I'm running Lighttpd 1.4.26 from extra on the server, and firefox (Namoroka) 3.6 and Chromium (not Chrome) built from svn 5.0.318.0 (38103) on client.
    My best guess would be that Lighttpd is confused with mime types, which then confuses firefox...
    Anyone has an idea?
    Thanx

  • I could use some help with my html5 and my video

    Hello all.
    I've been reading up and working on my video issue for days.  I feel like I'm very close.  ANY help would be huge.
    I've got two websites.  Both of which have videos which my clients wants to be about to see on his mac, his PC and his iPhone and iPad.  He's a multi-platform guy living in a multi-platform world.
    The first website, has two videos on it.
    http://www.ftworthfoundation.com/index2.html
    It is very close to working... I can view all videos locally on safari and firefox.
    However remotely I cannot see any videos with firefox.
    Remotely- I can see all videos with Safari and IE and 1 video on the homepage with my iPhone.  My first thought on this was that the video which wouldn't play was too large.  I read somewhere that the iPHone will not load anything over 20MB... the .m4v was 33MB so I cut it down to about a 3rd of the size and re uploaded it (at 6.6MB) but it will still not play on my iPhone
    here is my code for the videos.  The video is formatted in .ogg, .mp4, .m4v and .flv... all videos are uploaded to the root directory.
    <div id=Video1>
         <video controls width=448>
            <source src="excel_Construction_Commercial.ogg" type="video/ogg" />
            <source src="excel_Construction_Commercial2.mp4" type="video/mp4" />
                <source src="excel_Construction_Commercial.m4v" type="video/m4v" />
            <embed src="excel_construction_commercial.flv" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="448" height="249" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreeen="true"></embed>
        </video>
        </div>
          <div id="VideoPlayer">
            <video controls width="448">
                <source src="Foundation_Repair.ogg" type="video/ogg" />
    <source src="Foundation_Repair.mp4" type="video/mp4" />
                <source src="Foundation_Repair.m4v" type="video/m4v" />
              <embed src="Foundation_Repair.flv" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width=448 height="249" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreeen="true"></embed>
            </video>
            </div>
    If anyone can help me on this I can probably tackle the 2nd website solo.
    Thanks guys.

    Hi David.
    Thanks for the reply.  I am definitely moving the right direction.
    I have changed my extensions but the video will still not play remotely.  It does play locally.
    Here is my new code
      <video controls width="448">
                <source src="Remodeling.mp4" type="video/mp4">
                <source src="Remodeling.ogv" width="448" height="298" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'>
                <source src="Remodeling.m4v" type="video/m4v">
                <embed src="Remodeling.flv" type=application/x-shockwave-flash wIDth="448" HeIGHT=249 alloWScRIPTACCESs="always" aLLOwfUllSCREeN=true></EmbEd>
                </div>
    I'm thinking I have a MIME type issue as I read this article online.
    Here is a link
    http://diveintohtml5.org/video.html
    It's a great website for anyone looking to understand how to create and export video to html5.
    Anyway here is the section of article I'm interested in.
    What’s the proper MIME type? You’ve already seen it; it’s part of the value of the type attribute on a <source> element. But setting thetype attribute in your HTML markup is not sufficient. You also need to ensure that your web server includes the proper MIME type in the Content-Type HTTP header.
    If you’re using the Apache web server or some derivative of Apache, you can use an AddType directive in your site-wide httpd.confor in an .htaccess file in the directory where you store your video files. (If you use some other web server, consult your server’s documentation on how to set the Content-Type HTTP header for specific file types.)
    Can anyone tell me how to change my MIME type? I can see my .htaccess.html file and I tried adding in
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType video/mp4 .mp4
    AddType video/webm .webm
    But the server will not let me upload the new .htaccess file.  So I cannot change it.
    I'm using GoDaddy and have complete admin rights rights as far as I can tell.
    Again.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • HTML5 Video Works In Live and Preview But Not on My Website

    I feel totally ripped off by Adobe, again, I talked to a sales representative who told me that if I bought CS6 I would be able to easily install html5 video because the new version had an insert function that did most of the coding for you and gave you a properties view to select alt source...  Now, I find out that is only available in the Cloud version.  What a bunch of ....
    Anyway, I can't get my video to play in IE, but it works fine in FireFox.  I am using Windows so don't know about Safari.  The live view and the preview in browser video works just fine but when I upload it to my site the webpage with the video has a space where the video is with dotted lines around it, but it is empty.  The control panel flashes for a second but disappears.  The video file is there in three versions.  I check the MP4 version and it works fine, as I said it works in the preview IE browser.
    Any ideas?  Very frustrated, I figure if I had the properties view or could have inserted the file via HTML5 video command it would probably work.
    Here is my code:
    <video id="0" preload="metadata" controls width="640" height="460">
            <source src="FunWithMyFriend.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs=&quot;theora, vorbis&quot;'/>
            <source src="FunWithMyFriend.webm" type='video/webm' />
            <source src="FunWithMyFriend.mp4" type='video/mp4' />
            <p>Video is not visible, most likely your browser does not support HTML5 video</p>
          </video>

    Thanks Nancy, you're sure right about the user - I am a newbie and quite ignorant yet.  I am a Linux user through Host Gator (not so good btw - slow over-crowded servers).  I checked and added the basic MIMEs that I am trying to play.  h.264, mp4, mov, ogg (OGV), WEBM, even wmv.
    Here is the page - it is 3/4 of the way down the page where I try to include a graphic file that won't play in IE9 but will in Firefox and Chrome.
    http://christopherproductions.us/Graphics.html
    I tried reconfiguring the MP4 file several times using all sorts of settings here is the most recent versions and my code on this page.  Note on the webpage below I explain that the Sony Movie Studio forum suggests saving in MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.MP4/*.AAC) Internet HD 720P  codec   I also tried saving in WMV and then using Freemake to convert the file to HTML5 (it makes three files, obviously the ogv file works in Firefox, I don't know about the WEBM file, but it looks like the mp4 file doesn't work, that is why I made one file specificially for mp4 using Movie Studio to render it.)
    http://christopherproductions.us/AdobeForumHelp.html
    Thanks to anyone who helps - I really appreciate it.

  • I just downloaded CS6 and the doucmentation says I should have HTML5 Video as an option under Insert Media and I do not.  why?

    I just downloaded CS6 because the website said I could link to .mp4 videos with the new features.  I did not download the CC because I was told by support that it is the same as CS6 but you would be billed monthly.  I was following the instructions to Embed video in HTML5 and I followed all the steps until the step for Insert - Video and select HTML5 Video.  My software does not have this option.  Why?  this is the page I got my information from:
    Adobe Dreamweaver CS6: Embedding video in HTML5 | Adobe Inspire Magazine

    No need to duplicate replies.  This is a web forum so replies are seen by everyone.
    The plain hard truth is CS6 on perpetual license is not the same software as CS6 on the Creative Cloud. Version 12  will never get new bells & whistles added to it.  But 4 months after CS6 came out, the Cloud version received 2 significant upgrades that totally changed the software from what you have.   This fact frustrated many Cloud users who were trying to learn CS6 from text books that were rendered obsolete by Cloud upgrades.  Anyway, it was a very confusing time for everyone.  And that's why there are 2 versions of CS6.

    Without a link, it's anybody's guess.
    It could be a problem the video rendering itself.  Which software did you use?
    Did you export to the 3 file types -- MP4, OGG and WEBM to support all browsers?
    Does your web server support those 3 MIME file types?

  • HTML5 video player won't load YouTube videos (and probably nothing else either)

    When I request that YouTube use the HTML5 video player for videos, no videos will load - I have to switch to Adobe Flash for anything to play. The page for a video will finish loading and I'll just sit there watching the loading spiral of death ceaselessly. I've tried a number of suggestions from other threads with similar issues and nothing's helped.
    - Safe Mode does NOT fix the problem (so it's not an add-on or script issue)
    - Clearing cookies/cache does not work
    - Toggling the media.windows-media-foundation.enabled setting does nothing
    - Disabling hardware acceleration also does nothing
    I'm at my wit's end. Flash will hang and crash REALLY often so I don't want to use it, but it's the only thing that works for YouTube. Please help.

    You have to download and install Adobe Flash. Flash is not pre-installed.

  • Captivate 7 - project to HTML5 video (external) and back into project at Quiz location

    Hi,
    I am new to using Captivate and my company has me using Captivate 7. I am tasked with creating a project (blank project) importing a video, and then returning to the Captivate project to take a quiz. The video quality is not good in HTML5 or MP4 when imported into the project. I have alternatively, linked within the slide a button to the HTML5 video,  and successfully launched the video with perfect quality. I have created a button within the HTML5 video to go back to the original project. I see an option to go back to the project, but not to the specific slide where the quiz begins. What is the best way to accomplish this?

    Why does there need to be a button used now when in CP 6 and 6.5 it worked seamlessly? Will this be fixed by Adobe and when?

  • How does the new HTML5 video Support work? and what are the limitations?

    So the new Edge has been relased along with many new features including HTML5 video support So along with the new feature here are a few new questions!
    How does Edge load the Video? is it fully preloaded before Edge shows the content ? Or is it more of a "youtube" pregressive load while playing?
    Or can we choose?
    What is the recommended video file size  example 4mb ?
    How does edge deal with browsers that only support .ogg or .webm instead of mp4?
    How is the support on ISO & tablets? load times, "lag" etc?

    When you import an audio or video file a group is created for you. You can import media with the same name(videosample.ogv; videosample.mp4) to this group for ensuring browser compatibility. The corresponding format will be chosen depending on the browser that loads the composition.
    Regarding WebM format - You can also add a webm file in your composition;However since this is a royalty format, Animate will not show a live preview inside the Authoring tool. If you browser supports this then it will definitely play fine on browser preview.
    You can take a look at the In-app Video lesson which is available to you in the lesson panel for more details on how this works.
    And yes you have pre-load options for HTML5 Video too, however progressive download is not available. You will need to use scripting using JS for getting this functionality.
    Hope this helps and do try this out.

  • Making QtWebkit support HTML5 video and audio

    For those who don't know, HTML5 enables most current browsers to play videos and audios without the need of any plugin. QtWebkit supports this feature, so browsers using it such as Rekonq and Arora should support it too. However on Arch Linux this does not work outside of the box.
    I've tried to make this work and made a little progress, and I'm wondering if anyone has made similar attempts, have suggestions, or are willing to try this out. What I've done basically is to compile Qt with Phonon, and then remove the Phonon files when building the package, so that it uses the Phonon that comes with KDE. I included the PKGBUILD below, and you just need to copy the extra/qt directory from abs, and override the PKGBUILD or apply the patch.
    I also installed phonon-vlc-qt from AUR, which according to this post contains some fixes to support HTML5 video/audio. However neither this nor the default gstreamer backend works for me. With vlc the vidoe doesn't play, and with gstreamer the browser crashes. To try different backends for Phonon, open KDE's System Settings - Multimedia - Backends, and use the Prefer and Defer buttons.
    Some links for testing HTML5 video and audio:
    http://html5test.com Only uses JavaScript to ask the browser if it supports the feature. What I've done does make these tests pass.
    http://html5video.org
    http://youtube.com/html5 Join the beta, and then open some youtube videos, and look for HTML5 in the player's control bar

    Use a minidisplay/HDMI cable for video:

    A 2009 MBP does not support audio via HDMI so you will have to tap the Audio Output port.  Use a 3.5 mmRCA plugs and tap the RCA audio inputs on the TV with a cable such as this:

  • HTML5 Video on IPhone and Ipad

    I have made a website using HTML5. However, after I upload and it plays well on the computer, i access the site on my iphone and ipad and the video doesn't work. Here is what it gives me.

    how do I make HTML5 work on the iphone/ipad?

    Be sure you have your video in H.264 codec. HTML 5 for iPhone and iPad only respond to a select number of formats. They don't respond to Flash based or some YouTube based videos unless it has been saved in the H.264 codec.
    Search online for programs that can convert your video into the codec then try and upload again.
