Circular Redirect - Can't submit my feed to iTunes.

Hi. PLEASE Help! Anyone know what i am doing wrong? My feed works if i subscribe to it using the advanced feature in iTunes. WHen i try to submit, it says "We had difficulty reading this fee. Circular redirect to 'http://www.tmicast.com:80/la-hoops/'
My feed that works through advanced is: http://www.tmicast.com/la-hoops/?feed=rss2
Thanks for the help.

Looking at the code, it appears that you do have a circular redirect of the actual feed itself.
You have a line that says:
<itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.tmicast.com/la-hoops/?feed=rss2</itunes:new-feed-url>
That line is there to tell iTunes where to find the feed if you've changed URLs recently. However, in your case you have not. So, it goes to the feed and is told to redirect to itself then redirect to itself then redirect to itself...
Delete that line and you should be good.

• Can't submit feedburner podcast to itunes

Hello,
I have created a feedburner podcast to submit to Apple.
The podcast can be subscribed and downloaded manually in iTunes. However, there is a time out issue when trying to submit the podcast to iTunes. I have trie to submit this podcast to Apple from mid December 2013 with no success.
The podcast URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MHPN
Our developer claims there is no issue with the server and all functions normally when accessing the podcast in a browser.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?
Attached is a screen grab of the error message in iTunes.
Thanks

Some of your URLs - for example for 2 October - have spaces in them:

Spaces are not allowed in the URL and iTunes cannot see any files which have them in the URL. You top episode is OK, but that episode and any others with spaces won't download.
The feed itself is OK (though a bit of a mess) and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes. I don't know whether it's the spaces which are causing the problem - there isn't usually any difficulty with Feedburner feeds themselves - but it's your first thing to fix. Once fixed, post here if you still have any problems.

• Can't open radio feeds in itunes 10.6

I just upgraded to itunes 10.6 and find that I can't open radio feeds. I had been having no problems until recently. Before I upgraded I had a couple of occasions of difficulty opening the link but now it is impossible. In my old version of itunes if it couldn't open the link it would indicate that I should try later. Now it just shows the horizontal barber pole and says it is refreshing the category and I can't stop the one I clicked on or start a new one. I got Jazz to open but Classic Rock and others won't open. If I try to open another category it won't stop the refreshing on the previous one.
I work on a G5 with 10.5.8. I checked on Apple's support sight and checked my settings in preferences for firewall and it allows all incoming transmissions, so it shouldn't be a port accessibility issue.

Well I was having the same problem with itunes 10.6 .
Sometimes the radio feeds work and sometimes they don't. You can try reinstalling the software or downgrading to a previous version like itunes 10.5. (although the radio feeds depend on the broadcasting channel).

• Help. Can't submit my feed url

I submitted a feed as an rss.html and the feed was not updating so I removed it. I renamed the feed on my site and I'm trying to resend it for aprroval in the iTunes store, but I keep getting an error message saying the feed has already been submitted.
Can anyone help me out here?

I removed the feed via the remove feed in the report a concern link. It has been 3 months since I did this. Is that what you went by "officially request from Apple that the podcast be removed from iTunes."
If not, where would I go to do this?

• Can I submit my blog to iTunes for purchase just like a book?

I write an organizing and productivity blog and it is presently available through Amazon for the Kindle. I would also like to make it available for iPad users to subscribe to and download regularly, like an RSS feed. Does anyone know if it's possible to submit my blog feed to the iTunes store like I would a book or a podcast?
Thanks!

At the moment I do not beleive that Apple is offering any type of subscription service for your type of data. just normal books you could purchase in a bookstore.

• Can't submit my podcast - "timeout connecting to feed"

Hi -
For the last week I have tried to submit my new podcast to the iTunes Store. Every time I do this, I get the following error message:
We experienced a timeout connecting to this feed at this time. Read timed out.
I've added this feed to every other podcast directory with no problems, I can subscribe to the feed in iTunes (doin' the Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast dance), so I know the feed works. What's wrong with iTunes?
Steve

I just waited for a couple of weeks and everything seemed to work out... Patience is a virtue.

• How Do I Delete a Podcast that Can't Be Found in the iTunes Store

I have recently taken over the technical side of a church. We have a podcast submitted through iTunes that another gentlemen once administered. The problem is, we can't find that Podcast in the iTunes store. I can still get the podcasts to show up and download in the "Podcasts" section of iTunes, but I can't get it to appear on the store. We host our files on a site called "Cloversite," which unfortunately manages the XML feed and all of the submission process by itself. The podcast URL is http://towneministries.org/podcast.php?pageID=28. I need to get to the store link so that I can request that it be deleted, but I can't find it. We cannot change the URL due to the host, and therefore we cannot resubmit appropriately. How can I request that it be deleted and have the RSS removed so that we can resubmit and manage under a universal email address?
Thanks!

The URL you quote is that of the feed, not the Store page, residing on your server.
The podcast doesn't seem to be in the Store so if it was ever there it's presumably been removed. The fact that you can subscribe to the feed in iTunes is a purerely local matter - your own iTunes application is simply connecting directly to the feed and the Store is not involved.
However there is a bug in the Store which will prevent you resubmitting the feed as it stands and will tell you it's already been submitted (even if it's been removed). The workaround for this is to change the title slightly (you can always change it back later) - if you can also change the feed URL that would also be a good idea. Then you should be able to submit the feed as an entirely new podcast.

• Error submitting feed in itunes, But Feedvalidatororg says it's good

While trying to submit the feed in iTunes, it gives me an error message saying *error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on Line 1: The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag ""*
The feed has been validated by feedvalidator.org as shown below:
http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload696.mediafire.co m%2Fncjmniyxnthg%2Fznijmzmalrj%2FEssentialTrance.rss
Is there something wrong that I am doing? This is the first time I'm doing this.
Thanks in advance for your time!

The URL of your feed, according to the FeedValidator page (which doesn't give me the same error it did you) is
http://download696.mediafire.com/ncjmniyxnthg/znijmzmalrj/EssentialTrance.rss
Opening this in a browser produces a redirect to
http://www.mediafire.com/?znijmzmalrj
which gives a link to download the file. This won't work in iTunes: you must give it a URL directly to the feed. The test is that if you open the URL in a browser it will treat it as rss and display the contents.
Although the extension of .rss will work it would be better if the extension was .xml

• Can I submit feed twice?

It's very peculiar problem, i think.
Before, If I submited one feed, I can't resubmit same feed.
But now, already i submited one feed.
and then when I resubmit same feed, I can't see warning "duplication feed error".
I can resubmit same feed limitless.
What is wrong?
Could please help me that i may submit feed clear?
thank you.

It's normally been the case that if you submit a feed you can't resubmit it: even if the feed was rejected - or accepted but the podcast later removed from the Store for some reason - you get a warning that the feed has already been submitted. The usual workaround is to change the feed title slightly.
If you are able to resubmit multiple times without getting an error message I can't explain that. Why are you doing this anyway? When you submit a feed you should get an automated acknowledgement email fairly shortly afterwards, and then it can take at least two weeks for the podcast to be accepted. Submitting multiple times isn't going to get it accepted any quicker.

• Can't submit feed - incorrect parse error

I'm trying to submit a feed for a podcast we're doing for a trade show, but when I try to submit the feed, I keep getting this error:
Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on Line 25: The element type "channel" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "
".
If you look at my feed (http://www.totalretailexp.com/podcast/feed.xml), you'll see that there is a
tag where it's supposed to be. Everyone that I've shown this to agrees that the XML is correct, and furthermore, I started by copying and pasting the code FROM THE EXAMPLE GIVEN BY APPLE. I replaced everything that didn't pertain to me and changed it to the correct information.
So basically, either iTunes is rejecting my feed erroneously or I'm going crazy. If someone could please help me, I'd really appreciate it.

I saw some other posts on the web and completely powered off of the iPad. Then turned it on again and was able to quickly go to Settings and update the password. So this is no longer an issue for me. Just a pain that this is what I'll have to do every three months when I have to change my exchange password again.

• Help!! Circular Redirect error when submitting to iTunes

Howdo folks
I'm really hoping someone can help me here, because I've totally run out of ideas trying to figure this out.
I'm trying to submit my new podcast to iTunes, but when I type in the Feed URL (http://www.mifidpodcast.com/rss/feed.rss), I get the following error message:
We had difficulty reading this feed. Circular redirect to 'http://www.mifidpodcast.com:80/rss/feed.rss'
The feed validates fine at feedvalidator.org, so I've got no idea what is causing the problem with the iTunes submission.
Also, I have no problem subscribing directly when I use the "Subscribe to Podcast" option on iTunes and type in the feed URL. It's just the podcast submission option that comes up with the error.
Can anyone help? Please?
Thanks in advance
Mike

Hmmm, my first thought was that your server had a redirect set up, looping back to post 80. But it doesn't look like that's happening when I read your site's headers.
I validated your feed and noticed that your server is returning the file as if it were a text file: http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mifidpodcast.com%2Fr ss%2Ffeed.rss
Looking through your source code, it looks like you have an old version of PodPress. Your source says 6.0, the PodPress site says they have 6.8. Double check you have the newest version of the software.
I hope that helps, nothing else is jumping at me. Mike

• Can't Submit/Subscribe

Hi all,
I'm trying to submit my new podcast to the iTunes directory. The RSS feed is here: http://www.notificationcenter.tv/feed.rss . iTunes' submission page is saying that they're getting a 504 when they try to connect. I thought maybe there could be some DNS problems, so I tried subscribing manually. No dice, I get "zero episodes" and no artwork when subscribing manually. My feed appears to validate fine – can anyone suggest a solution?
Thanks!
Ash

Here is your problem:
<itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.notificationceter.tv/feed.rss</itunes:new-feed-url>
It should be in effect redirecting to itself, but there is spelling error so iTunes is looking for a feed at a non-existent URL. (The redirect affects only iTunes, not browsers.)
You should remove this tag, it's redundant anyway.

• How to submit a podcast with an RSS feed to iTunes

According to this page -- http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#submitting -- "In the left column of the Podcasts page, in the Learn More box at the bottom, click on the Submit a Podcast link." I'm not able to find the Learn More box. How do I submit a podcast to iTunes?

You have to create one with a hosting provider, or create one yourself: see this apple article: http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html#_Toc526931673
You can also use an app like Feeder (http:/reinventedsoftware.com/feeder/) for Mac.

• Can't submit my podcast

I've tried several times and read through tons of itunes help files and still I can't submit my podcast: http://www.brendawamsley.net/index.php?option=com_podcast&view=feed&format=raw
Every time I get a Error parsing feed: Invalid XML. Now I've done the step where I can go to advance and subscribe to podcast and using the same link can get the files just fine. What am I doing wrong! I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

I just waited for a couple of weeks and everything seemed to work out... Patience is a virtue.
