Compressor Submit Button Grayed Out.

I am new to FCP compressor. Recently my compressor won't let me click the submit button. It is grayed out. I have trashed my Compressor plists. I have tried Compressor Repair. I have trashed applications Qmasters and Compressor and reinstalled them. Still I get to the point wher I click submit and the button is grayed out. I have seen many posts and have tried the remedies and still no fix. Anyone see what i might be doing wrong?

I'm not new at this but I'm getting the same problem. It seems as if under cluster when hitting submit on my job, I don't get the "this computer" as a cluster option anymore. It simply says none. This is a legit copy bought retail. I tried running the proapps update i downloaded directly from apple. Here's a link to the screen shot of what it looks like.

Compressor has the submit button grayed-out

I've uninstalled the complete FCS-3 using FCS remover for the 3rd time but the "submit" button is still grayed-out and the local cluster does not show up. (all it says is "none" & "other")
What is wrong? Do I have to resort to wiping the entire OS and re-install everything to get compressor to do its job?

I've never encountered this particular issue, but if reinstalls via FCS Remover aren't working, then I would tend to believe that there is some other underlying problems with your system. A clean system install would be my next recommendation.

Cluster (sub menu) submit button grayed out

hello all
as of today my compressor has stopped allowing me to submit the batch i set up.
having sent an item from FCP to compressor, i get to set the options for settings and destination and then when i hit the submit button a second menu pops down regarding cluster options of which i have none. i add a name to this box yet no mater what other options i change the *submit button in this sub menu remains grayed out!*

i have tried reinstalling compressor, and eventually the whole suit. i have removed the various prefs and qmaster stuff. i have used the fix compressor utility from digital rebel, repaired permissions and cleared out cache, but still *grayed out submit*.
what thoughts cloud genii?

I'm having the same problem.
This comes after suffering persistent crashing of Compressor 3.5 on launch and finally having to reinstall to at least fix the crashing problem. But now I can't submit any processes - the button is greyed out.
Can't remember setting this up originally, but it use to say "This Computer" for processing - do I need to add my computer to a list of available processors?

2nd 'Submit' button grayed out

Exported fine last night. Today when I click the Submit button and the window opens where I can name it, I do, but the submit button there is grayed out. Any idea what the problem is?

I am having this same issue, I have been using Compressor for the exact same thing for months. Suddenly I am unable to submit on the second submit button. It is greyed out and unclickable. I haven't changed settings it just randomly happened.. Compressor 4

Submit button grayed out in Project server 2013 WorkFlow

We published the Workflow in project server'13 through SharePoint desginer 2013 and we used the Microsoft sample workflow. after saving the project information Submit button is in disable mode. So can any body clarify this issue ?
we tried the re provisioned the PWA through the above article but still submit button is in grayed out mode.
Please clarify me where i am wrong?

Open your site in SharePoint Designer
Expand the "Workflows" folder, and the folder containing the workflow you want to fix
Right-click on the file that ends in "xoml.wfconfig.xml"
Choose Open With -> SharePoint Designer (Open as XML)”
Look for the “RulesVersion” attribute
Change its value to “V1.0”
Save the xml file
If you modify the workflow again, you’ll have to change the “RulesVersion” attribute again before saving as an STP as changing the workflow increments this
attribute value which has to be reset to "V1.0".

HT1338 compressor Submit button greyed out

All of a sudden when I try to compress a .mov the "Submit" button is greyed out. No matter what movie I try or what compression settings I try. Running FCP 7.0.3 MacBook Pro 2011 Lion 10.7.5. Plenty of space on HD, re-installed software, all usual troubleshooting. When I drag the same movie to Compressor in my old Mac 2008 running snow leopard it lets me click "Submit." Been running Compressor and Final Cut no problem till now. Even compressed a movie tonight just fine. Then, made some changes to the Final Cut Sequence, output new QT movie, bam - all of a sudden compressor won't work. Can drag any settings onto the job, click submit button on the bottom, then when menu to name job drops down I can only click "Cancel" button. "Submit" button is there but greyed out.

Hi Everyone - I had this problem recently and your posts helped me get to the resolution for my issue.
Submit button was greyed out.
I had recently done a software update, which may have created the issue.
My Compressor was version 3.5.
My QMaster was now version 3.5.3.
Based on reading your posts, this may have been the issue.
I found this update:

I installed the software update, which updated my Compressor to version 3.5.3. The updates take place in the applications folder, so after installing the update, I moved the Compressor icon to the desktop, replacing the old icon.
Compressor works again.

I'm still not able to process my videos, Compressor refuses to process our batches.
I've already repaired permissions many times, deleted the entire FCP suite twice, used
Compressor repair and trashed preferences several times.
I don't know what else to do, Compressor refuses to process.
Any help is much appreciated.

no one has an answer, maybe someone who has apple care can call up apple? i am on a work computer and they do not have apple care on this computer. i know if you reinstall everything it will work, for a while. then in a few days the compressor button will be greyed out...again!

Compressor Submit Button Greyed-Out SOLUTION!

Compressor and Apple Qmaster have to be in the same place!
Compressor would let me set everyting up but not the final "submit." It was greyed out.
Simple fix: In my case all I had to do was make sure Compressor and Apple Qmaster were in the same place. I had made a folder in my applications to put all my editing apps and MOVED Compressor into that folder but not Qmaster. I simply put compressor BACK into the regular APPLICATIONS area and BAM-O! Done. Hope this brings relief.

Moving your FCS suite to a subfolder in Applications or another location altogeter is a bad idea.
All Apple software is placed on your system by the Installer app.
Along with the software you install, it places a .pkg file in the Receipts folder.
This package contains information on the software version, when it was installed and where.
It also contains information about the permissions that the software has.
Manually moving the software means that the information about the location of the programs is no longer correct.
Updates to the programs will be announced by the built in Software Updater because it works by looking at the info in the .pkg file. Occaisionally, it is also neccessary to run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
In both cases, the changes will not be applied because the programs are not in the correct location.

Submit Button Greyed Out (v 4.0.5)

I have been using Compressor successfully for about a year. Recently it updated to v4.0.5. Now I am not able to submit, with the final Submit button greyed out. I have checked my Destination folder permissions and all appear correct.
What could be the cause of this, and what shall I do? I need to render a program urgently for broadcast.

I just resolved a similar problem. I am running OSX 10.6.8 on a MBP 13" 2010.
Once inside Compressor I'd click on "submit" and the drop down window would show "none" next to "Cluster:" and the submit button was greyed out.
I called Apple Care and they had me delete the preference file "com.apple.Compressor.plist" file from my user>library>preferences folder. This did not fix the problem on its own.
They then had me delete the Apple Qmaster folder from user>library>application support. This did not fix the problem on it's own.
I then reinstalled the Compressor application itself. This did not fix the problem on its own.
I then verified permissions and repaired permissions using disk utility. This did not fix the problem on it's own.
I then clicked on "Share Monitor" which is found on the Compressor task bar. "This Computer" was displayed in the left column. I simply clicked on it in order to high light it. I left the "Share Monitor" window open and went back to the submit panel and "This Computer" was now displayed next to "Cluster:" and the program is now working again.
YMMV.

Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro Save button grayed out

I have a user with Windows 7 with a fresh install of Adobe acrobat 8 pro and everytime you open a pdf and type in it the Save button is grayed out. You can go to Save file as but why is the Save button grayed out? I have ran updates and even removed it again and reinstalled still the Save button is grayed out? I even created a new pdf with just test word in it and saved it to desktop the button was still grayed out when i reopened it.

Only the fully updated Acrobat 9 and Acrobat X products support use under Windows 7.

Address Book "Edit" button grayed out...unable to edit

Had to edit a contact's info and was surprised to find the Edit button grayed out, not allowing me to click it. Repairing permissions has not helped.

V.K., thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, before I got to try it, I re-launched Address Book one more time and found it will no longer launch. Its Dock icon just keeps bouncing. Not only that, but I've also found that iCal and Mail will no longer launch, either. The iCal calendar pane and the Mail main window open, but the beach ball spins forever. I've never seen this before. Any ideas?
I tried a different account on the same computer. No problems there.

Artwork Button Grayed-Out

I have some MP3s of an unknown sample rate and different bit depths. I would like to add artwork to these files, but iTunes has the artwork button grayed-out. I can convert the MP3s to AAC, but the quality will suffer, and I don't have the original uncompressed audio to start with.
Is there a solution to this?

If you do a Get Info on the MP3 in iTunes and select the Artwork tab can you add there?
If you Ctrl Click the track in iTunes and Show in Finder then do another Get Info are the permissions set correctly?

Join Button Grayed Out

My iPad connects with no problem at home on my Time Capsule and Airport Extreme Routers. At my office, I can't even find out if it will connect or not, because when I select the network to join it, as soon as I type in a password, the JOIN button grays out making it impossible to connect. On hold now with Apple for 20 minutes and they are scratching their heads. Not a good sign for a device I am otherwise crazy about. Anyone else got this issue? For what its worth, its a Linksys Router at the office.

Oh heck, nevermind. Turns out I was entering the wrong password. DOH! Nothing to see here, move along.

Data source active/inactive button grayed out in LBWE

When I was activating the Logistics datasource in LBWE, my data source status became red and the Active/Inactive button grayed out? how can I make this data source active again?

Hi Kumar,
The status will become Red and Active/Inactive is disable due to Extract structure activated but data source is not maintained. This happens once you change the extract structure to Include additional fields. Please do the below step:
in LBWE, Click on Data source (Technical name of your data source beside maintainance) and you will get maintainance screen, change if you want some thing or else leave as it is and save, Now the status for data source in LBWE will become yellow and activate/deactivate will enable.

Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)

Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)
The Journal Batch Approval notification goes to one or more approvers but when any approver opens the journal and tries to approve, the approve batch button is greyed out and nobody can approve the Journal batch. The approver has every authority amount and other wise.
Any idea what might be wrong? Do I need to setup something in Preference pages etc.,?

Are you looking at the Workflow Notifications page or GL page. Please give me the navigation used to reach the page. Typically in workflow notification details page, the Response buttons are either displayed or hidden based on whether the notification has a Result Type attached or not. I don't think they are greyed out based on any rule.
Workflow notifications does not check the approval authority by itself. Ann appropriate workflow notification with right content and result type should be sent based on the approval authority checked in a previous function activity.
