CiscoOS and CM Installation w/o network

Hi,
Can any problem to occur while-and-after I'm installing Cisco OS and CallManager 4.2(3)
on the MCS that currently doesn't have network connection (no network cable plugged into
the MCS's NIC1).
When I'm writing the word 'problem', I mean the influence might take place
for finally installed Cisco OS and CallManager configuration, i.e. the unpleasant
things could be avoided, if I install the Cisco OS and CM while MCS is connecting to
the corporate net ?

Hi Tobivan,
Hope all is well!
We just did an exact CCM 4.2(3) build in the lab (not connected to the Campus Network) before going live without any issues :) You will want to to connect to a lab switch, especially for building any Subscriber boxes (db replication) but other than that you should be good to go.
Hope this helps!

  • Lr and Ps installation problems.

i just uninstalled my photoshop cc and lightroom  5 app after i purchased the creative cloud for photography and i am trying to reinstall the apps but i am unable too, can someone help me?

I had possibly the same error...
Windows installer looking for the LR 1.3 msi but could not find it (msi is extracted to a temp location on drive). The dialog box appeared asking for it to be manually located. Win Installer refered to an unavailable network resource. Install failed with an error, 1714(?) unable to remove older version.
I ran a search on C drive and located the extracted msi and directed installer to this location but still would not install.
Thought that there may be a problem left by a previous LR install so ran MS Windows Installer Clean Up Utility, selecting "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" only and click remove. (Warning: this can toast the app's install and require a total reinstall--I was luck).
Ran LR 1.3 installer and upgrade completed fine. Did have to tell LR 1.3 where my image folder on the ext. hard drive was and LR ran a check - catalog vs folder to ensure integrity.
    All fine now.

  • File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks on Windows server 2008

    Hi Expert,
I found that the properties of File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks service disabled after I install the windows server 2008 64bits. I tried to install that service via adding the file and printer sharing services in the properties of local area connection, but it doesn't contain any service in the popup box.  Also, no such service file available in the disk when I tried to install the service from installation disk of windows server 2008 64bits. Is the file "sacsrv.dll" corresponding to the service name of file and printer sharing? I found it is in the directory of "Windows\system32".  I have no idea about where is the problem? Do I miss some components? Please tell me what can I do for it? Thanks!
    Best Wishes,

Do any experts know the reason of this problem?  Thanks!

  • 11.2.0.3 Patch Bundle and opatch installation approach

    Hi,
I have installed the below 11.2.0.3 (64 bit) products in my windows 2008 server
    1. Oracle Grid Infrastructure for standalone server
    2. Oracle database server software and created a standalone database with ASM in this home.
Now i need to apply Update 5 patch bundle and some bug fix patches.
Since there are 2 home in my server what is the right approach for applying the patch bundle and opatch ?
When i went through the patch bundle installation document i could see these 2 options
    1. Patch Installation Instructions for Single Instance
    2. Patch Installation Instructions for RAC
Since i have 2 homes (OraCrs11g_home1 & OracDb11g_home1 ) in my server i am not sure which patch installation option i should choose and proceed.
    Can someone assist me ?
    Thanks,
    Ashok Kumar.G

no we have to prepare a test POC but we don't have Xterm so had to use silent mode.using VNC server is best option to install or upgrade databases/grid Infrastructure.
VNC server runs on the server and no fear of loosing network connection as in case of connecting thorugh putty.
also you can open GUI in VNC server without need of any xterm or xwindows .
So ask your SA to install VNC on your server and use it.

I'm a Pro Tools user, who just did an "Archive and Install" installation of 10.5.8 over my 10.4.11 on my 2 Ghz G5, now Pro Tools won't launch.  I checked the extensions folder and sure enough, the digidesign extensions were left behind.  Can I revert back to the "Archive" of my 10.4.11 System from the "Previous Systems" folder?  If not, what's the point of creating the "archive"?

Did you select "Preserve User Settings"?
Archive and Install installation automatically moves existing system files to a folder named Previous System, then installs Mac OS X again. (See tip 3.) You cannot start up your computer using a Previous System folder, nor can you "re-bless" the Previous System folder. (See tip 1.)
You can choose to preserve your user and network settings before installing. This option automatically moves existing users, Home directories, and network settings. This also skips the Setup Assistant after installation.
Note: Because the "Preserve user and network settings" option moves, not copies, existing users, Home directories, and network settings, from the Previous Systems folder to the newly installed System, these items will not exist in the Previous Systems folder after the Archive and Install is complete.

  • FIM Service and Portal Installation Ends Prematurely

    Hello All,
I'm in the process of setting up a new production FIM 2010 R2 server. I have already installed the FIM synchronization service and I was able to install this successfully.
I have already installed SharePoint services (WSS 3.0) and configured it for FIM. But when I try to install the FIM Service and Portal.
I keep getting and error that says " FIM Service and Portal Installation Ends Prematurely" with no other details. If anybody has any advice please let me know.
I have already installed everything on a stand alone box in a dev environment and it all works correctly however I am unable to now install in a production environment

Cameron is right - you should consider FIMService account nearly as normal AD account for user*
An installer account should be admin on the box, where you are installing FIMService and he should be sysadmin on SQL during installation of FIMService. An installer account should be other than FIMService account itself.
    *FIMService account:
    Lock down the Service Account
The service account should not be used by any other services or users. The account must not be used to logon interactively and requires no access to any additional resources beyond those granted during setup. The service account is used to provide the security
context for the MIIS service as it accesses resources on the MIIS server and the associated database. It also provides the security context for the execution of any rules extensions.
Lock down the service account to ensure no malicious user is able to sign in using its credentials and gain access to MIIS data. Configure Group Policies to lock down the account and restrict access to this account. Since the MIIS service only needs the account
to run as a service, restrict the account as follows:
Deny logon as a batch job.
    Deny logon locally.
    Deny logon through Terminal Services.
Deny access to this computer from the network.

  • Inherited Linksys Voice over IP and data installation.

I have just inherited a brand new linksys, voice over ip data installation. It has roughly 25 telephones and the same number of computers with new WMP300N network cards and SPA941 IP telephones. The company remodeled an old construction with 100% masonry wall (brick and/or concrete). The remodeling included the 100% wireless data and telephone installation. Now that the remodeling is finished and work has started, the network saturates as soon as there are a few users. The computers are all using LinkSys WMP300N cards and the telephones are all LinkSys SPA941. They installed approx 15 wifi repeaters for telephones and 10 for datos. They installed two separate but identical AP's, one for Data and the other for Voice but both on a 192.168.1/24 subnet.(Zonet ZSR1124WE) The folks who installed this didn't, for some reason, use LinkSys AP's and repeaters but used Zonet ZSR1124WE for all.
    My questions are:
    1. Wouldn't using the same subnet be the same and using the same
wire that that would allow voice/telephones to saturate and
slow down the data even though the AP's are separate?
    2. Wouldn't channel interference between the aprox 25
    repeaters be common?
    3. If I were to remove all their equipment (APs and repeaters.)
an install 2 LynkSys AP's in the center of the offices
where there is an open patio with a watt or better amplifier
(not illegal here, not in the U.S.) output and a high gain
antenna on each of the two and using separate networks.
172.16.1/24 for datos and leave 192.168.1/24 for telephones
have a chance at success and if so could you estimate
how much of a change and recommend equipment and/or other
critical or semi-critical points that I have missed?
    Thanks,
    ed
P.S. I have my doubts that this is even possible but it would be cool, if it only worked

Umm.. you left out quite a bit of information:
How are the wired phones connected to the wireless network?
What channels do the APs use and how are they connected in between each other (and other wired data equipment)?
What kind of network is it? B, G, N?
How many WLAN channels are used? One per AP and all repeaters use the channel of the AP they repeat for?
As far as the subnet goes, the current setup shouldn't be a problem - I figure the problems are more likely to come from the wireless than the wired part of your network. Considering that you're basically halfing the throughput with each repeater (assuming the same channel which is likely since there are only 3 that do not interfere unless you have an A network) - the sheer number of repeaters is most likely to be blamed for the poor performance. Traditional WLAN networks generally use a wired backbone, plus you'd have a single net and use one of the three distinct channels in order to minimize interference.
Increasing the output of the main antenna is also only half of the problem... if you can reach clients that are farther away, those clients will also need the appropriate power output to reach the base again - and those wireless cards are limited in that way.
There are two essential pieces to tracking down a problem with your VoIP equipment:
The configuration of every device involved
    SIP protocol traces
And don't forget: there's no such thing as giving too much information when describing a problem.

I rented a movie via Itunes on  my PC but half-way through the download recieved a "An unknown error has occured (-50)" notification. This is not my first rental, and I have verified my network and all connections to be good. I have rebooted Itunes and resumed the download of the movie only to receive the same error code. Has the movie file been corrupted? Can I recover the rental even though the time has elapsed? Will I be charged?

Did you figure this out?  I haven't rented a movie in this new iTunes yet and saw one tonight I wanted to rent.  Same fricken thing is happening to me.  I hate this new iTunes, and I really hate that there are problems like this....why the heck do they have to fix something that isn't broken and break it?  This just really stinks.

  • Set up a Foscam wireless webcam through BaseStation 7.71 inside and outside of my home network.

I bought a X10 wireless Security Camera last year and it took me months to figure out how to set it up to access the video both inside my home and through my iPhone remotely, even on my Mac at my office.  I thought I would provide my process of getting this done to help those trying something similar.  Yes the X10 camera works as a Foscam Camera.  I am very happy with the result.  The biggest  challenge was Port Forwarding the Apple Basestation but now that I figured it out, it is easy.
"How I set up a Foscam wireless webcam through Apple Hardware and software to work inside and outside of my home network seemlessly."
    What you need:
-Foscam or compatible camera, (iPad or iPhone or Mac or better all three)!
    -Service Provider Router.
-Apple Base Station, Extreme or Express. 7.71
-'ip scanner' (software for Mac, app for iPad/iPhone.
-CCTV Camera pros port scanner app for iPhone.
    First REMOTE ACCESS
Go to www.dyndns.org and set up an account. For about $20/yr you can have 30 host websites.  Write down the user name and password as you will need it later.
You need  this service to have a stable website to see your camera outside your network later as 'ip' addresses can change but this site will remain stable.
Then after you log back in, create a 'host website' from the menu.  When you are creating the host site, dyndns will give you lots of web address choices or you can create your own. Just pick one. Also, you will need the 'ip' of the server where the camera will be. Luckily the dyndns website tells you this, just select it. Write down the web address, click create and you are done this part.
Next you need to set up the camera.
    CAMERA SET UP
Using an Ethernet cable, connect your Apple Base Station to your web cam.
You will need to run 'ip scanner' to see the 'ip' address for the web cam. Write down the 'ip'. Select it, then select "open device in".  Pick browser.
A web page will be launched and you are given 3 choices. I picked the middle, 'push browser'.  You are then asked for the user name and password for the camera. By default the user is 'administrator' and there is no password. Just click log in. You now will see a menu along the left, at the bottom it should say 'device management'. Select that. Another page will show and there are several important things to do here.
    1. Alias - give a name to the camera.
    2. Set the time from a server.
    3. Users - set a user and password. Write this down as you will need it.
    4. Basic network. Either check to 'Obtain IP from DHCP Server' or specify an IP you want to stay the same. You need the subnet and main DNS server and the Gateway (same thing like 192.168.0.?or 10.0.0.? or 172.16.0.?)
Decide on a port you want use. Write this down. The camera will reboot, you will need to log in. In the browser enter IP then : the port#.  Like 192.168.0.?:80 you will need the camera user name and password.
    5. Wireless-scan for the nearby network list. Pick your network, enter your password, click submit. It will reboot.
    6. UPnP-check to use.
    7. DDNS Service (this allows remote viewing) pick DynDns.org
Enter your DynDns user name and password.
Enter the long DynDns Host website you wrote down. Click Submit. It will reboot.
    APPLE Basestation set up
Run Airport Utility on Mac or iPad or iPhone.
Tap basestation, tap edit, tap advanced, tap Port Settings, tap 'new entry', in description enter a name, enter HTTP port number you picked when setting up the camera in all 4 spots: public and private UDP and TCP. Enter the IP address you picked in the camera setup. Click done and again until the Basestation updates.
Run the CCTV app, pick 'tools', pick 'Port forwarding Checker'. Enter the port you selected to see if it shows open then you are good. If not go back through the steps.
Set up Foscam App on the iPad and iPhone.
    Run App, tap Add Camera,
    Label- enter a name
    User- Camera user name
    Password- Camera
Local camera address-the IP address eg 192.168.0.?
    Port- the one you specified.
If it connects you will see the chain turn green.
Remote address- the long one from DynDns.
    Port- the one you specified.
If it connects you will see the chain turn green.
    Tap done.
If everything is entered correctly it will all work.
Trouble shooting, make sure the IP address for the camera is listed correctly in the Apple Router.  If it changes on the network, just go into the Airport Utility and update that.  Also make sure the dyndns address is correctly listed in the Camera set up.
If questions, just let me know.

Ok.. you have to work out the way you are going to access the TC..
    There are basically three methods..
    1. Direct access using AFP.. you need a static public IP and the TC as the main internet router.. then you need to turn on internet access and password the hard disk. The college has to have port 548 open.
If you do not have a static public IP then you can use ddns service but there is no client in the TC.. so you will have to figure out a way to update the service.
    2. Use BTMM with icloud. This is the Apple method. It actually uses vpn..(the vpn is locked to apple use only but it is not available to end user).. The requirements are 7.6.1 firmware and lion or ML on a Mac computer. I am not sure of the ports because the link to the Apple cloud is separate from the vpn to your home system.
    3. VPN.. that means you need to bridge the TC and use a decent quality vpn modem / router or combo thereof.
VPN are not for the faint of heart.. it can take a lot of work to get running but offers the best security.. you will need to change the network equipment in your house more than likely.. using a pc / mac as a vpn server is possible.. but messy.
There are also easy ways to at least access the home computer.. teamviewer for example. This is likely blocked by the college though.
Double NAT is where you put a router on a private IP behind another router on a private IP.. that makes port forwarding close to impossible.

  • How can I get my 4g phone to reliably and seamlessly talk to my network extender?

I moved a few months ago, and ever since I've had major problems with dropped calls on my phone.
Before, I was on the inside of a large concrete apartment building, and I had the 3g network extender. Because I was near the center of the building, despite the courtyard in the middle, I had no problem connecting to the 3g extender, as there was no meaningful competing signal.
Now, I'm across the street, but on the outside of the building. Calls were able to connect sometimes from within the apartment (without the extender) because there is some cellular coverage. However, we would occasionally drop calls on all three VZW cell phones in the apartment, I reactivated the network extender. This has helped the two other lines (a Stratosphere II/Galaxy Nexus and a Galaxy S4) immensely. However, my phone will consistently drop calls just a few seconds in - excluding the Lumia, which doesn't hit the network extender and therefore seems to drop slightly less often since there is no handoff. I typically see 1-2 bars of signal.
A few of the troubleshooting steps I've tried:
I have gotten a brand new SIM from a VZW corporate store
I hate tried multiple phones - Galaxy S3, Nexus (the same one that another household user has not had any problems with), and a Lumia 822
I have ensured that I'm on the network extender via #48 - I get on the extender on all phones except the Lumia 822, which doesn't drop calls quite as often. This is even the case when I'm connected to LTE on the Android phones; this makes sense, since the extender is 3g/1x only, and all voice calls are over 1x.
I have tried multiple distances between the phone and network extender - both very close (within 3 feet) and farther (15 feet + wall)
I have tried my phone(s) without cases, and typically use a thin TPU rubber case  on the galaxy S3.
I hate tried factory resets on all three phones.
I have ensured that my phone number is on the network extender access list.
If I disable LTE (some phones are easier than others; for example the GS3 makes this rather difficult. The menu under Settings > More Settings > Mobile Networks < Network Mode) offers three options: Global, LTE/CDMA, and GSM/UMTS. However, third-party apps can adjust this; for example, "Advanced Signal Status" can (via Addition Info > Device Information). When I set my phone to CDMA only there, I get a solid connection. #48 still tells me I'm on the network extender, and I have 5 bars of signal. I use another app, SignalCheck Lite, to give me solid signal readings.
    Signal Measurements:
Galaxy S3, CDMA only (via 3p app), <3 feet from extender
5 Bars, connected to wifi and non-LTE signal, will not drop calls
    1xRTT: -61 dBm
EvDo: -72 dBm, SNR 8 dB
    LTE: No connection
    Wifi: -64 dBm
Galaxy S3, normal LTE/CDMA mode, <3 feet from extender
1 Bar, connected to wifi and presumably LTTE signal, will drop calls FREQUENTLY
    1xRTT: -66 dBm
EvDo: No longer shown in app; eHRPD is shown with no connection
    LTE -117 dBm, SNR 7dB
    Wifi: -67 dBm
Given that the 1xRTT signal is reasonably strong in both cases, my suspicion is that a handoff is occurring incorrectly. It's prioritizing the LTE base station over the extender, despite the large signal discrepancy. My understanding is that a handoff can occur from extender to VZW tower, but not the other way around - so one it has transferred over, it will inevitably drop, often just a few seconds into the call.
However, the 'CDMA only' is not a good solution. Along with not being something normally in the device's settings, this is a major inconvenience - even if it were the settings screen, that's 5+ taps every time I enter or exit my apartment. (Nor can this be automated with a tool like Tasker.)

    AdaS_VZW,
I'm not sure if the area has been surveyed; it's a large group of apartment buildings about a within a couple miles of Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia, so I would imagine that it probably has, but I'm not sure. How would I find out?
I understand that the Network Extender does not support LTE connections (I know there are two models, the 1x-only and 3g, both made by Samsung - I have the 3g model, SCS-2U01). I know that it can support a 3G data connection, but that should be irrelevant - I'm always connected to my wifi network in my apartment.
What's particularly vexing, however, is that both a Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Nexus in my apartment (the other lines on my account) do not seem to have this issue. While I haven't done so with the S4, the Nexus exhibits this problem when my SIM is in it - and again, this is a fresh SIM from just a few weeks ago.
I'm currently trying to disable Mobile Data when in the apartment to see if that will make it more stable. I'll post in a day or two with results from that.

Read the user manual that came w/your Airport router or you can cross-post in one of the  AirPort Forums for instructions.

Yes, if the drive is formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
The USB port on the Time Capsule is under powered, so you may need use a powered USB hub with the 4 TB drive...even if it has its own power supply.

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
    setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)
Let me know if that helped you.
