CiscoWorks Alerts delay

We have an issue here in Ciscoworks where in most of the alerts we received from Ciscoworks are delayed. Like last January 22 issues. One of our devices is down and there should be an alert on the same day of incident but we only received the alert last January 24. This is not the first we
encounter this kind of issue. Please advice on why the alerts are delayed and
how to avoid this.

If the devices were added manually, then the bulk import file must have listed the devices by different IP addresses (or devices already existed in DCR by different IPs).  If you go to RME > Devices > Device Management > Alias Devices, you should be able to resolve the aliases there.

  • Email alerts delayed when UCS fan is pulled.

    We are testing Cisco UCS failover\redundancy and when we pulled a Fan from the UCS chassis the email alerts for both up and down only arrived after we re-inserted the FAN. As if UCS was hanging onto the email until the fan was re-seated.  We tested it varying the time the FAN was out of the chassis, waited as long as 10 min with no alert.  No other alert behaved like this.
    I am checking documentation but have not found any explanation yet.  Has anyone heard of or seen this before?  what am I missing?

    Yeah, you would expect that, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, Verizon chose to do away with the contract technicians they had in the stores (no one new they were contract, they looked like VZW employees) who were actually trained on those kinds of details. 10 years ago, you would've had someone in the store who could do it all, but then VZW wanted them to "pay for themselves" by making accessory sales and getting people to upgrade, then turned them from techs into just another customer service rep dealing with billing stuff, while still call them "techs" and finally just dumped them altogether. They used to have people in the call centers who could walk you through this stuff too, but they seem to have gone away as well.
    The company has done away with all of the real "customer service" and refocused everyone on sales. If I'm angry with your company, why would I buy something new from you? Yet they (and many other companies) try.

  • Alert with event for delayed job and long execution time

    Dear All,
    We are planning to send alert via email in case job delayed or long execution time.
    I have followed below steps:
    1) Create event Raise Event when job is delayed.
    2) create job chain with STEP1, Job 1 and assign event in raise event parameter.
    3) Once job chain delayed it should raise events.
    4) Above event should trigger custom email but I can not put the Mail_To parameter as IN parameter. And can not be recognized during
    execution.
    It ends with the below error.
    Details:
    JCS-122035: Unable to persist: JCS-102075: Mandatory parameter not set: Parameter Mail_To for job 20413

    at com.redwood.scheduler.model.SchedulerSessionImpl.persist(SchedulerSessionImpl.java:757)
    Please let us know if anybody knows how to add Mail_To parameter to script.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jiggi

    Dear Jiggi,
    where will you define execution time of particular job? because some jobs will take only 1 or 2 minutes, but some jobs normally take more than hours, so how will you decide execution time of individual jobs?
    i thinks you can use P_TO Parameter for sending mail, if you want to add some output log activate spool output script.

  • Caller IT to the TV Alert message pop-up delay

    Is it me or is the Caller ID to TV feature very flaky?  Generally when the alert does not show I do the following steps to correct:
    Disable
    Re-boot DVR
    Enable
    At it magically comes back.
    Now I have a different problem - the caller ID alert appears about 2 minutes AFTER the call comes through - rendering this feature useless.  I re-set the router and no change - all TV's 3 SD and 1 HD show the alert about 2 minutes after the call comes in.
    Any help out there?  Thanks

  • Incorrect time of CCMS alerts, alerts getting delayed by more than a day

    Hi All,
    We have SOLMAN 4.0 and configured the autoreaction method for alert on e-mail centrally on SOLMAN for a client in DEV(100). The configuration is correct and we are able to receive the CCMS alerts, however, the alerts are getting delayed by more than a day. Alerts are getting generated every 3-5 minutes and in the central autoreaction method zCCMS_OnAlert_Email_Central i have added a parameter TIME_ZONE and gave the value as PST as our servers are all on PST.
    The following is an example of the alert that I received:
    ALERT for DEV \ Workload Collector \ Workload Collector Frame \ Collectorframe Messages at 20070910 215114 ( Time in UTC )
    System: DEV at 20070910 145114 ( Time in PST ) RED CCMS alert for monitored object Collectorframe Messages Alert Text:Determination of component from SCR failed System:DEV Segment:SAP_CCMS_e47dev_DEV_00 MTE:DEV\Workload Collector\Workload Collector Frame\Collectorframe Messages Client:000 User:DDIC
    Severity:        0
    I received the above alert at 15:45 after changing the "set wait time" to 15:30. However, in Tx. SOST, this alert was supposed to reach at 23:52 on 2007 09 10 which is like almost a day to receive the alert?
    Is this any configuration issue? The job which was scheduled to run every 3 minutes in SCOT to send e-mails is running fine without any delay.

  • SCOM 2012 delay forwarding alerts to internal connector

    All,
    Is there anyway to delay alerts being forwarded to a connector similar to how you can with email subscriptions?
    I need to delay alerts being forwarded to AlertItNow connector until a powershell channel subscription has run.
    The powershell script populates Custom Field 1 which is required to run before the alert is forwarded to ServiceNow helpdesk.
    Thanks,
    Darren

    Hi Darren,
    I have to say that, as far as I know, no built-in way to delay forwarding to a connector.
    There is an option for delay aging for notifications configuration.

  • Is oracle project generate alert incase of any delays in Tasks Or prject

    Hi Experts
    It's possible to generated auto alert in case of delay's in Task/Projects ? If yes please give me link.

    Hi
    There is no standard functionality for that.
    Solution depends on your definition of delays.
    Please clarify what is thescope of the implementation - Project Costing or also Project Management.
    You should also consider how do you maintain the baseline dates, that you want the system to compare with.

  • Solman CCMS alerts are send with delay

    Hello all,
    I have set up the availability monitoring with CCMSPING in SolutionManager (EHP1). In rz20 the alert is shown directly after the system crash/downtime etc but the email is send some time later.
    Example: Alert in CCMS 07:00:38 CET
                   Alert sent with SCOT 07:36:50 CET
    Emailjob is scheduled every 5 minutes. Does anyone has an idea which causes such a delay?
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    Check in SOST when these mails have been triggered . If it is sent at correct time and received with a delay , then it is an issue with network conjustions .  Also check the system time in Tcode STZAC and check whether the time settings are correct .
    Eg. Time zone is set correct for the system as well as users etc .

  • Why does my iPhone 4S delay text message alerts?

    Many times, my iPhone 4S will not alert me as soon as I receive a text message.
    Even if I received the text message when it was sent, my iPhone will not notify me until I unlock the phone.
    Then it perks up -- "Oh yeah, you have a new text message. You received it 2 hours ago."
    I have tried researching this issue but I can't find anyone else who has had this same issue.
    All of the suggestions I've found have to do with a delay in sending text messages, not in alerting you to new text messages.
    Sometimes I will receive text messages a few hours old but that doesn't happen often enough for me to worry about it.
    But nothing I've found so far specifically deals with the alerts.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Any ideas how to fix this?
    Note that I have tried all the "standard" suggestions: restarting, restoring, etc.
    Thanks!

    Did you ever find a solution? I have pretty much the same issue. I will receive text messages but not receive an alert. Then anywhere from a few seconds to minutes later my phone will light up and vibrate but there is no notification. I'll unlock my phone and sure enough I have a text message.
    Sometimes, I'll receive a text message when the phone is in my hand and unlocked, no vibration, no alert, but there is a badge icon and I'll see that there is a text, read it, and even reply. I'll lock my phone and a few minutes later my phone will light up and vibrate as if I have a text, but there is no notificaion, no badge icon and it will be the alert finally catching up to the text I received minutes earlier. It drives me crazy!
    Anyone else?

  • Delayed system alert sounds

    I have a little problem which is an annoyance more than anything else - though it could indicate a more serious problem.
    The system alert sounds on my 17" PowerBook occur approximately two seconds after an alert winow appears. Sometimes I don't actually hear my prefered alert sound - I just hear the speaker make a very quite crackle.
    When I shut down the alert sound which should accompany the Restart/Sleep/Cancel/Shutdown option is not heard until the desktop has disappeared and the progress wheel (not the beachball) is rotating.
    Any clues, please?
    TIA
    Alf

    Systems before X played system beeps perfectly. OS X seems to read all beeps off the hard drive. I have never been able to get OS X to play a beep without accessing the hard drive, which annoys me far beyond this tiny little issue might deserve. I understand why systems should move away from direct calls to the hardware, but this is certainly a downgrade in the human interface, when what took microseconds in OS 6-9 now takes deciseconds. I've noticed that the cache holds the system beep a bit better in 10.4, so that there's a minimal delay, but still not as good as my old macs. The more able computers get, the harder it is for them to do the simple things. The corollary is that system programmers focus on new features instead of improving performance, or it's easier to write new code than to shorten old code.

  • Alert voice over delay times

    Hi,
    in speech there is an option to "Set alert preferences", and there is a scroll bar with a delay time.
    Im assuming this is the delay untill the voice comes on after the event, like a message in ichat, then 60sec delay untill the computer speaks and says "ichat needs you attention"
    However my voice comes on straight away, its really annoying, i want it to be a delay of like a minute?

    Hello TTS,
    It sounds as though you are suffering from corrupt preferences files.
    Try binning the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.speech.synthesis.general.prefs.plist, then opening System Preferences and setting up the Talking Alerts you want.
    It should indeed work as you describe (and does for me…).

  • Delay in delivering B1 Alerts

    Hi all,
    I configured "Discount deviation alert" for Sales quotation for 10% to notify the manager.
    I went to a sales persons logon and created a sales quotation with 25% deviation.
    Manager got the alert only after 4 minutes.
    I replied from manager's login but the message came to sales person again taking 4 minutes.
    Is this delay common? aren't they supposed to be delivered instantaneously?
    or i need to configure this somewhere?
    Thanks
    Kishor

    Hi,
    You have to configure it under General settings, Services tab, Update messages. You can even set it to 0 mins, so the messages will arrive (almost) instantly.

  • TM Backup Delayed alert

    Seems like any time I back up, like just a few minutes ago, I later get an alert when I click on the TM icon that my last backup was delayed or incomplete. However, I almost never abort a backup. I have my TM backups on an external 1T drive and, when I plug in and start the drive, TM will automatically start backing up. The backup completed a few minutes ago was about 2.13 gigs of files and the progress window indicated that the backup was completed. I don't think I have TM scheduled to backup at specific times, only when I plug in the external drive. What's the problem?? Thanks.

    Time Machine backs up hourly, if your Mac is awake and the destination is available.   Let it.  If the destination isn't available, it can't back up, so it will say "delayed."
    Leave the backup drive on and connected to your iMac.  That's how it's designed to work, and will protect you best.

  • Want to delay alert..............

    Hi All,
    I want to delay my alert from executing for about 10sec.
    Is there any SQL function kind of thing which is avaliable for doing this.
    below is my SQL statement used in alert. I want this SQL statement to delay from executing...., it is after insert alert
    SELECT prh.segment1,
    pap.email_address,
    prh.org_id,
    prh.requisition_header_id,
    prh.type_lookup_code,
    pah.sequence_num
    INTO &SQL_REQ_NUMBER,
    &REQUESTOR_EMAIL,
    &SQL_ORG_ID,
    &REQ_HEADER_ID,
    &TYPE_LOOKUP_CODE,
    &SEQ_NUM
    FROM po_action_history pah,
    po_requisition_headers_all prh,
    per_all_people_f pap
    WHERE pah.object_type_code = 'REQUISITION'
    AND pah.object_id = prh.requisition_header_id
    AND prh.preparer_id = pap.person_id
    AND pah.employee_id = prh.preparer_id
    AND pah.employee_id = pap.person_id
    AND TRUNC(SYSDATE) BETWEEN TRUNC(pap.effective_start_date) AND TRUNC(pap.effective_end_date)
    AND pah.sequence_num = 3
    AND pah.action_code IS NULL
    AND pah.rowid = :ROWID
    Thanks in advance

    Edited by: Jana on Jul 14, 2010 7:11 PM

    Hello Jana,
    I have a similar requirement. What I am doing is scheduling an on demand check in the future via a trigger. Warning: I am not sure this would be supported at all.
    You will also need a table to track which checks are being scheduled for which records. You alert sql query will have to join to that table because an on demand check cannot refer to :rowid - only event alerts can do that. You also need to know the alert_id and application_id of your alert.
    First, take a look at the trigger that was generated on po_action_history table when you created your event alert. It will be named something like ALR_PO....
    It is hard to read, so you might want to copy it out into a text file and format it.
    It will have in it statements like these:
    RETVAL:=FND_REQUEST.SET_MODE(DB_TRIGGER => TRUE);
    RETVAL:=FND_REQUEST.SET_OPTIONS(IMPLICIT => 'ERROR');
    REQID:=FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('ALR','ALECTC','PO_ACTION_HISTORY',NULL,FALSE,USER,'PO_ACTION_HISTORY',rowidtochar(:new.rowid),'U',mailid,ORGID);
    if REQID=0 then raise_application_error(-20160, FND_MESSAGE.GET);end if
    What that does is submit the Check Event Alert conc req (ALECTC) immediately, and makes it invisible to the user who updated po_action_history (SET_MODE(DB_TRIGGER => TRUE). So what I did was to create my own trigger similar to this, but instead submit the conc program that is called when you check an on demand alert, which is ALECDC, and use the start_time parameter for FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST to schedule it in the future.
    Do NOT edit the generated trigger ALR_PO... to do this! You have to create your own trigger.
    You need a table to track the conc req ids. This has to have the fields that uniquely identify the record in po_action_history that was updated - looks like OBJECT_ID, OBJECT_TYPE_CODE,OBJECT_SUB_TYPE_CODE and SEQUENCE_NUM. I suppose you could use rowid, but I haven't tried that. The trigger has to insert in this table.
    Create the table, user apps must have full access to it:
    create table mytable(
    conc_req_id number not null,
    object_id number not null,
    ...whatever other fields are needed to uniquely identify the records
    Create the trigger:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER APPS.MYTRIGGER after INSERT on PO_ACTION_HISTORY
    for each row
    WHEN (...put whatever when conditions you want...)
    declare
    REQID NUMBER;
    RETVAL boolean;
    cursor cm_date_format is
    select value date_format
    --into nls_date_fmt
    from nls_session_parameters
    where parameter = 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT';
    date_format_rec cm_date_format%rowtype;
    l_submit_date date;
    begin
    --get the NLS date format, usually DD-MON-RR
    open cm_date_format;
    fetch cm_date_format into date_format_rec;
    close cm_date_format;
    date_format_rec.date_format := nvl(date_format_rec.date_format,'DD-MON-RR');
    --Calculate the date and time in the future you want to run the check
    l_submit_date := sysdate + (10 / (60 * 60 * 24));
    --make sure the user cannot see the conc req
    RETVAL:=FND_REQUEST.SET_MODE(DB_TRIGGER => TRUE);
    RETVAL:=FND_REQUEST.SET_OPTIONS(IMPLICIT => 'ERROR');
    --submit the check
    REQID:=FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST(application => 'ALR',
    program => 'ALECDC',
    description => 'MY ALERT CHECK', --replace this with something more meaningful, like the alert name
    start_time => to_char(l_submit_date,date_format_rec.date_format||' HH24:MI:SS'),
    argument1 => put the application id of your alert here,
    argument2 => put the alert_id of your alert here,
    argument3 => 'A');
    if REQID=0 then
    raise_application_error(-20160, FND_MESSAGE.GET);
    end if;
    insert into mytable(
    conc_req_ID,
    object_ID,
    --all your other fields needed to identify the record being updated
    values(
    REQID,
    :new. object_ID,
    --all your other fields needed to identify the record being updated, from the :new values
    end;
    commit;
    Now create an on demand alert similar to your event alert, but in your sql you cannot refer to :rowid. However, when the alert runs, it runs inside of the conc req that you submitted in the trigger, meaning that FND_GLOBAL.CONC_REQUEST_ID will have the value of the conc req. So remove "AND pah.rowid = :ROWID" from your sql, add mytable to the from clause, and then join to mytable in your where clause:
    and mytable. Conc_Req_id = FND_GLOBAL.CONC_REQUEST_ID
    and mytable.object_id = pah.object_id
    and mytable.... = pah.... (join to all other fields in mytable that uniquely identify the record in po_action_history)
    Now set up your actions and action sets for this new on demand alert similar to what you did for the event alert. Then disable the event alert.
