Class for Forms 9i ??

I am looking for an intermediate-level class on Forms. At first I thought a good choice would be:
Oracle iDS Forms: Build Internet Applications II (Development Tools)
However, on further examination, it seems that this class is for Oracle Forms (6i) Developer. Our Forms Builder is at level 9, and whatever I take needs to be for that level.
So is there an intermediate-level class on Forms 9i? What do you recommend?

2) Forms 10g courses will do quite nicely for Forms 9i

How to use multiple classes for each form

Hi,
I have created two forms using screen painter and now i want to use different classes for these two forms .
I have declared the Sbo Connection in main class i.e. Set Application ,Connection Context() but while connecting to other classes
for executing the code for that form SAP is not connected to that class.How to use multiple classes functionality i don't able to
do that.Please provide some sample codes for that as it will be more helpful for me to understand.

Hi Amit,
In fact, its more advisable to use separate classes for every form that you use. Have one common class, say, for eg., clsMain.cs which has all the connection and connectivity to other classes, wherein, the menu event and item event of this main class, will just be calling the menu / item event of other classes.
The individual functionality of the child classes will be called from the item / menu event of the respective classes.
Item event in clsMain.cs will be as below.

my head hurts and i become crazy... i know that a lot of people asked this question before, but i did not found any suitable solution.
I have simple a jsp page, containing a form which should be handled by struts. I tried everything, but i did not found my mistake.

Unable to compile class for JSP

Please can anyone help me to solve this.
Actually,this is the condition.
In my db,there is a table called UserPassword, which has 4
fields(empNo,UserName,password,level). Now I want to do these things:
When the user submits the data to create a new account via HTML form, it submits the data to the file called CreateAcc.jsp. In this file it perform some logic,here are they.
1)To check the empNo,if it is already exist in the DB,
     if empNo =exist then display error.(record already exist)
     if empNo =notexist then do task 2).
2)check the UserName,if it is already exist in the db,
     if UserName=exist then display error.(because it's a primary key)
     if UserName=notexist then do task 3).
3)Create a new user account and save it to the db.
To do these tasks,I never create a new objects for the tasks 1) and 2).
only for task 3)create an object.
Is it the right way?

I am able to set and get the value now, i am able to see the data in my log window, but in my page it is erroring out, giving null pointer exception.

I have encountered an issue whose possible resolution i am not able to meet.
The issue is like this :
While performing MIGO for the Return Delivery user is successfully getting the maerial document number . But when user trying to perfor /n or anyother transaction following message is appearing (Note: For Good Receipt user is not getting any message)

After going through the help text of the above error message I have found following
Diagnosis
The specified window is not defined in the form
I have checked the form ZWESCHEINV3 in SE71. The window RUEKOPF is present over there.
So what might be the reason for getting this error and what approach we should take to resolve this.

Symptom
When you print a collective slip for areturn delivery, the update
terminates in function module RV_MESSAGE_UPDATE. *The error message is TD*
*427.*
But if you check my case

Accessing Java Classes from Forms

Is is possible to access a Java class from Forms? I have been
creating an Active X control that returns a Java object, and from
that I can call methods on that object, but I would really like
to do that without having and Active X control in the mix. Any

WT /411, /311 and 711 does not show for Form 940 credit reduction

I'm facing issue in form 940 credit reduction schedule A, In the payroll log I do not see /411, /311 and /711 wages types. Tax type 10 and 11 are there in tax model and also in BSI tax authority is there in Optional Rates Override. Please advise what I'm missing.

Hi Anita,
As a base rule, state tax type 11 is to compensate FED tax type 10, hence wherever you see tax type 10 assigned in FED tax combos against all tax classes, tax type 11 needs to be made available under same tax classes but for state.
Anyways, what you need to do is that -
1. Go to table T5UTD and see what all states have tax type 11 active for it and note it down.
2. Once done, you will need to look at FED tax model in table T5UTM and what all tax combos under tax area "U" have tax type 10 for tax class (which corresponds to your processing class 71 specifications). Note the tax classes that have tax type 10 under FED tax model.
3. Finally got each state that you have found as tax type 11 is active under step 1 from table T5UTD and for respective tax classes that you found from step 2 under FED model, look for same tax classes in each of state applicable and add tax type 11 under table T5UTY for tax combos found in table T5UTM against those tax classes for state tax model. Please make sure that if tax combos are shared across or used by different other tax models than create a new model replicating existing one and add tax type 11 to it, then assign same to tax model agaisnt taht tax class and tax area "U".
Example:-
You have found out that MI (Michigan) has tax type 11 active under T5UTD table but it does not come in your payroll log.
Suppose FED has tax model 100 assigned under table T5UTE.
Now this 100 tax model in table T5UTM has tax class 2 which has tax combo assigned as 40 against tax area "U".
Tax combo 40 in table T5UTY has tax type 10 only.
Go to Michigan tax model in table T5UTE, suppose it was 120.
Go to table T5UTM and look for tax model 120 and tax class 2. Suppose tax combo assigned is 43 against tax area "U".
Tax combo 43 in table T5UTY has tax type 10 only but since FED has tax type 10 assigned to tax class 2 therefore MI combo should also have tax type 11 in tax combo 43.
This change to tax combo 43 applies if tax combo 43 is only avaiable under tax model 120.
If tax combo was also used for other tax model then you will need to copy create 43 to other new tax combo number not used till date and copy all tax types under it.
Note:-
Here I have only told you about one tax class i.e. 2 and one state MI. You will need to configure same for all tax classes as applicable for MI and other states too.

Looking for Forms 10g Training

Looking for Forms 9/10g accelerated training. Preferably somewhere in New York City area. Have looked at Oracle's own classes already. Also, interested in web-based class, if you can recommend something good.

Thank you for the two links you provided, but they refer to book/video material on Forms 6i, while my question is about Forms 10g. I have actually read that book and found it very helpful as a starter (for version 6i). I'd like to read something that goes deeper into Form's internals - for example, something that clearly explains Forms internal navigation process (and its interaction with user's navigation). Perhaps there is a good white paper on the topic, don't know.
As far as Forms Docs, again I can only wish it was written the way Oracle db docs were written - you can find a chapter devoted to your general topic. Forms 6i Doc are rediculous. Information is provided in small poorly connected bytes. Frequently it is presented in a form of bare-bone reference, with little effort to explain the processes. I am only starting to use 9i/10g docs. There seems to be an improvement, information is more complete. Still, it is a helper, not a studying material. Frequently for in-depth look you are referred to a diagram, which I'm not smart enough to understand without additional explanation.
If you know of some good in-depth material regarding forms internal navigation process, I would really appreciate it. I have to say that this forum is great in terms of helping out developers.

Seperate instances of server class for authentication

I'd like to implement some form of authentication in my server class. I thought about adding a few login routines and while the client hasn't authenticated itself all calls to functions other than the login stuff will throw Exceptions.
However, as I understand from the (in my opinion chaotic documentation and tutorial) every UnicastRemoteObject class is instanced only once and after that every client will use a threaded version of that same class instance... This would mean that if one client logs in, all clients log in as the object doesn't distinguise between clients.
So I either need a way to instance the server class for every client or (perhaps even more graceful) use a Login class that spawns a server class as soon as the login has been accepted.
Unfortunately I can't find anything on the web or the forums about this (lotsa problems like mine but either unanswered or different enough to be less than helpful).

of that same class instance.No, you can have as many instances as you like but you have to start with a single object which is bound into the Registry. What you are after is a Session pattern like this:
public interface Login extends Remote
Session login(String credentials) throws RemoteException;
public interface Session extends Remote
/// ... whatever you want
then a singleton instance of LoginImpl is bound to the registry, the client retrieves it, tries to get a Session by logging in. The implementation of login() just looks like this:
public Session login(String credentials) throws RemoteException
// check credentials, RemoteServer.getClientHost() &c:
if not acceptable throw new AccessException();
// otherwise
return new SessionImpl(credientials);
}Easy as pie.
