Class that manage directory

hello,
I'm looking for a class that manage a directory.
the class should "know" the names of the files it owns,
and has to be able to create a new files in it.
i looked for suck, but didn't find,
and i believe it is exist.
(as a student, i should write a small compiler.
the compiler should get a directory name,
and it need to translate the source files to dest. files written in the intermediate language.
(the next stage is to translate from the intermediate language to machine language).)
thank a lot!!

  • Always running class that manages DB connections

    Hi! I made a class that its purpose it's to manage db connections. The idea is very simple, just open ten new connections and store them in a Vector, this must be done only once when the class is started, this class must be running always. So I now have my ten opened connections, then, when a class (can be Servlets, JSPs or other classes) request a connection using the static method getConnection, one of the available connections is asigned to a connection object, then removed from the vector (so the vector must reduce its size, and this connection will not be used until it is freed) and finally returned.
    The problem that I have is, that every time that I request the getConnection method, a new Vector object is created or something like that. Because when I call that method the Vector is always of zero size, so every request in different classes cause this, and it's not what I want, I want that this thing works like I was explaining in the previous paragraph.
    I provide you with the code that I have until now, please provide me all the help that you can. PLEEEAAAASEEE!
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.Vector;
    public class manejaConexiones{
         public static Vector conexiones = new Vector(10);
         private static void llenaVector() throws SQLException {
              for(int i=0;i<10;i++){
                   conexiones.addElement(hazConexion());
         public static void free(Connection connection) throws SQLException{
              conexiones.addElement(connection);
         public static String datos(){
              return("Number of free connections="+conexiones.size());
         public static Connection getConnection() throws SQLException{
                 if(conexiones.size()==0)
                   llenaVector();
              Connection connection  = (Connection)conexiones.elementAt(conexiones.size()-1);
              if(connection!=null){
                   conexiones.removeElementAt(conexiones.size()-1);
                   return(connection);
              else{
                   connection = hazConexion();
                   conexiones.removeElementAt(conexiones.size()-1);
                   conexiones.addElement(connection);
                   return(connection);
         private static Connection hazConexion() throws SQLException{
              try{
                   Class.forName("com.inet.tds.TdsDriver");
              }catch(ClassNotFoundException e){
                   throw new SQLException("Error: " + e);
              return(DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:inetdae7:localhost:1433?database=DB","user","pass"));
    }

    You would want to make your manejaConexiones class a singleton.public class manejaConexiones{
        private static manejaConexiones _instance = null;
        public static Vector conexiones = new Vector(10);
        private manejaConexiones() throws Exception
            Class.forName("com.inet.tds.TdsDriver");
            for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++)
                conexiones.add(DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:inetdae7:localhost:1433?database=DB","user","pass"));
        public static Connection getConnection() throws SQLException
            if (_instance == null)
                synchronized(manejaConexiones .class)
                { // Multiple threads might be here
                    if (_instance == null) //Must check again as one of the blocked threads can still enter
                        _instance = new manejaConexiones ();
            // Return a Connection of your choice from conexiones
        // Others
    HTH

  • Importing a class that is stored online

    I hope this is the right forum... appologies if not.
    I am wondering how to access classes that are stored on the internet.
    I own the domain www.l4eclan.com. I created a package (I think) of classes on it, but I can't figure out how to access the classes in that package.
    The url of the package is located at:
    Code:
    http://www.l4eclan.com/minion
    Right now, there are 2 files in it: alignment.java and alignment.class. Each has "package minion;" at the top of it.
    I tried accessing the class with "import com.l4eclan.minion.*;" and "import com.l4eclan.*;" but neither worked.
    Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    So it's not possible for Java to read classes that
    aren't stored on the local machine?Not with the import statement.
    The whole point of this program is to read classes
    stored in that directory on the internet... not to
    read them from the local machine.Then you have a problem.

  • How to import a class that have no package

    I have .class archive that i need to use in a web aplication on Tomcat. I put the class in the directory: <webapp>/WEB-INF/classes/.
    The class doesnt have a package, so when i tried to import (..page Import=".....") it, tomcat gave me an error because is looking for a package instead of the class.
    then i try to use it without the import and tomcat gave another error because it cant find the class.
    Any ideas??
    by the way.. I dont have the source code, I just have the .class archive..
    thank you....

    Also, I already found that the class had no package. Then you are out of luck.
    As of java 1.4 you can no longer import classes that are not in a package. [url http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;jsessionid=c85f07c1ce8f344d787b7a5146d68:WuuT?bug_id=4361575 ] Full details here
    The only solutions I can think of
    1 - get the people who originally gave you the class to package it properly.
    2 - Decompile it to java code, Change the java code to put it in a package and recompile it. Depending on the complexity of the class this may or may not be a trivial operation.
    Good luck,

  • Import classes that are not part of any package

    I have this problem with the JDK1.4 compiler:
    I have a few classes that were created outside of any package for some JNI uses. When I used JDK1.3 to compile, I was able to get the compiler to find these classes by doing the following in the calling classes:
    import ClassOutSideOfPackage;
    Now that I am trying to use JDK 1.4, the compiler complains with the following error:
    "." expected
    import ClassOutSideOfPackage;
    I tried to take the import out and had no luck. The compiler complained that it can't find this class. What can I do or is the only solution to change the class to include it in a package and change all relavant JNI native calls... etc. Thank you.

    Removing the entire import statement should work. Check for a classpath problem if it
    doesn't. It is not necessary to place in a package and recompile, though.I tried your suggestion. However, it keeps complaining that it can't find the class. The class file resides in the current directory and I have "." at the beginning of my class path. I don't see anything wrong with the classpath. Did you have this working?

  • How to add a system into Solution Manager directory.

    Hi!
    Can anybody tell me how to add a system into Solution Manager directory before generating license key for ECC installation .
    Also,
    How to connect the XI in same box with SolMan and ECC in defferent server to SolMan 3.2 .
    I am going to install SolMan and than XI in and box and after that ECC in a seperate box.
    AM I right?
    regards,
    Pratip Bhattacharyya

    Hi Bratip Bhattacharyya,
    SolMan 3.2 needs SLD only for automatic data gathering of the sap landscape; you can choose between SLD and LIS in transaction SMSY_SETUP (which simply uses the TMS-domain controllers for information gathering).
    XI needs SLD, but XI needs also a netweaver04 (s) system (Abap WAS 6.40). SolMan 3.2 isn't a netweaver04 system (Abap WAS 6.20). So you have to install XI as an own central instance (Abap + Java) on the same windows server, if you like. In this case you have to install for XI an own SLD. Different SLDs can create bridges between themselves. Please look at the SLD configuration guide (quicklink /netweaver -> installation guides).
    But don't ask me how to install two sap systems on one server on windows (on Linux it's easy I have done so); basically it will have an own SID and own "service" numbers (which means own tcp port numbers).
    If you can't dedicate to XI an own server, it's only a question of hardware sizing. For the different combinations of netweaver components you should study the master guide for netweawer.
    Bye

  • HELP PLEASE urgent: Creating a package, and class that prints all...

    please help, 5 duke dollars up for the best answer, or first answer that solves my problem!
    Hello, I have created a package called molecule that contains classes named Water, Sugar, Carbon Dioxide, and SulfuricAcid, and a sub-package named molecule.atom. The atom sub-package contains classes named Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Sulfur. Each class in the molecule package should re-define the toString() method to print the numbers and types of atoms that constitute the molecule. For example, molecule.Sugar.toString() should return the string:
    "Sugar: 6 Carbon, 12 Hydrogen, 6 Oxygen".
    So basically, I have created a folder in C:\molecule\ and a subfolder C:\molecule\atom\ . I have also created a class called ChemTest belonging to the default package. ChemTest.main() creates and prints instances of each molecule and atom, but does not contain any import statements. The problem is that the ChemTest.java file won't compile coming up with 16 errors!
    Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong?
    here is one of the molecule classes, for example CarbonDioxide.java:
    package molecule;
    public class CarbonDioxide
         private String co2;
         public CarbonDioxide()
              co2 = "Carbon Dioxide: 1 Carbon, 2 Oxygen";
         public String toString()
              return co2;
    and here is one of the atom classes, for example Carbon.java:
    package molecule.atom;
    public class Carbon
         private String c;
         public Carbon()
              c = "Carbon: symbol = C, num = 6, weight = 12.011";
         public String toString()
              return c;
    now here is the ChemTest.java file that won't compile:
    public class ChemTest
         public static void main(String[]args)
              molecule.Water water = new molecule.Water();
              molecule.Sugar sugar = new molecule.Sugar();
              molecule.CarbonDioxide carbonDioxide = new molecule.CarbonDioxide();
              molecule.SulfuricAcid sulfuricAcid = new molecule.SulfuricAcid();
              molecule.atom.Carbon carbon = new molecule.atom.Carbon();
              molecule.atom.Oxygen oxygen = new molecule.atom.Oxygen();
              molecule.atom.Hydrogen hydrogen = new molecule.atom.Hydrogen();
              molecule.atom.Sulfur sulfur = new molecule.atom.Sulfur();
              System.out.println(water.toString());
              System.out.println(sugar.toString());
              System.out.println(carbonDioxide.toString());
              System.out.println(sulfuricAcid.toString());
              System.out.println();
              System.out.println(carbon.toString());
              System.out.println(oxygen.toString());
              System.out.println(hydrogen.toString());
              System.out.println(sulfur.toString());
    and finally, here are the errors:

    HI,
    I tried your problem with the following directory structure:c:\java\ChemTest.java
    c:\java\molecule\CarbonDioxide.java
    c:\java\molecule\atom\Carbon.javaI set the dos-prompt to c:\java and ran the following commands:javac molecule\CarbonDioxide.java
    javac molecule\atom\Carbon.java
    javac -classpath . ChemTest.java- and it worked!
    Sure, in ChemTest.java I deleted all the lines refering to classes that you didn't post...
    I hope this helps you!

  • How to preverify all classes under a directory and subdirectories?

    I have compiled all my java codes into class files in "build/classes" directory. Now I am trying to preverify the class files with the following command:
    preverify -classpath /opt/midp/classes:build/classes -d build/preverified build/classes
    However the command completes execution and when I check "build/preverified" directory, I find it empty. I would like to mention that "build/classes" contains a directory structure of "com/hp/...."
    Could someone please suggest how to do it successfully?

    If you use Chris Poole's XUTL_FTL package, I believe that contains functions that allows you to query the directory contents.

  • Portlets development: When to use the class that extends PortletBridge...

    When I create some Portlet (.jspx based) JDeveloper generate some resources. One of those is a class (with the name that I´ve configured) that extends PortletBridge...
    Ok. So, I want to know if I use JSF standards should I put my actions into this class or should I create another Managed bean to handle that? What to do with this generated class?
    Thank you.

    So you want to create a portlet that uses JSF instead of JSP?
    You can JDev do that for you. When you create a new portlet there is a step where you can specify the default page for the portlet mode (view, edit).
    On the right hand side you can select ADF JSF (or something like that).
    JDev will then create a class that extends the PortletBridge class and you don't have to do anything more. Just edit the jspx like it's a normal page.

  • CV04N-Searching across multiple classes that have the same characteristics

    In CV04N- is there a way to search across mutliple classes that have the same characteristics?
    For example I created 3 new class types each assinged to a new class, each class having the same characteristics.
    Say if I have a characterisitics called Contract Name.  I need to be able to search for a contract name across all 3 classes.
    The search results in CV04N defaults to class type 017 so it only shows characterisitcs relate to that type, Is there a way to get the characteristics for the new created class types to show?
    I know in CV04N you can only search one class type and class at a time.
    Does anyone know of a way to fulfill these requirements, without creating a customized report?

    Hi Jenny,
    The answer for this question is that:
    1. The class 017 document management in cv 04n is SAP standard class .It's totally different than the new class created by you.
    2. The new class in CL02 you are creating is for a perticular document type. When you assign a characteristic (contract name) to this new class ,it appears in additional data field as contract name.
    3. Now you can make a search with only Contract name filed and the report will be displayed with all document types having this characteristic (Contract name) is assigned. Thus you can find the classes(document types)thru characteristic(contract name).
    I hope this will resolve the query. And you will get clarified between two classes( i.e. 017 and new classes in DMS).You can say them as subclassed under 017 class.

  • Deploying java class that uses oraclexmlsql.jar

    Hi,
    I'm trying to deploy a java class that I wrote. It simply gets some data out of my oracle database as xml using the oraclexmlsql package. It works fine when I compile it within JDeveloper.
    When I try to deploy it JDeveloper gives out the following error:
    Errors in xmlquerydb:
    ORA-29521: refferenced name oracle/xml/sql/query/OracleXMLQuery could not be found
    loadjava: 1 errors
    I can't figure out why that happens. I have used other classes and deployed them as Java stored Procedure and they work fine.
    Thanks for help
    Andre

    I tried to load the oraclexmlsql.jar into the shema where I put my class. The classes from this jar were loaded but can not be compiled( apart from 3 ). I also tried loading my class into sys but I still can't compile it or the oraclexmlsql.jar classes.
    Is the xsu12.jar a collection of all the classes that are allready in Sys after the database install?
    I have noticed that on expanding the oraclexmlsql.jar file has a strange format and two classes classes are in the directory from which I expanded the jar. These two classes do not get a synonym on loading into the db. Could that have anything to do with it?
    Thanks for more help

  • Calling Java class stored in directory from PL/SQL

    Is it possible to call Java class that is stored in directory from PL/SQL
    or must those Java classes be stored in Database?
    Has anyone any information considering this?
    Cheers,

    user529557,
    You have the following options:
    * Web Services
    * Servlets
    * EJB
    * RMI
    * JMS
    There may be others.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • 6.1 Doesnt read classes that arent part of packages

    Migrating webapps from 6.0, it appears the 6.1 server doesnt find classes that are in WEB-INF/classes directory. When I place them in packages it finds them. Do I have to convert all classes to be part of a package now?
