I would like to know is it possible to "unclass" a class file to get the java. Any ideas?

Mocha does a great job but it is pretty old. Developpement has stopped due to an unpleasent event that involved the death of the original author :(

Using List Class in java.awt / java.util ?

have a program that:
import java.util.*;
List list = new LinkedList();
list = new ArrayList();
... read a file and add elements to array
use a static setter
StaticGettersSetters.setArray(list);
next program:
import java.awt.*;
public static java.util.List queryArray =
StaticGettersSetters.getArray();
If I don't define queryArray with the package and class, the compiler
gives an error that the List class in java.awt is invalid for queryArray.
If I import the util package, import java.util.*; , the compiler
gives an error that the list class is ambiguous.
Question:
If you using a class that exists in multiple packages, is the above declaration of queryArray the only way to declare it ?

So what you have to do is explicitly tell the compiler which one you really want by spelling out the fully-resolved class name:

My web page uses a Java Applet to allow my visitors to replay chess games; the Chess Viewer Deluxe applet was written by Nikolai Pilafov some time ago and has been working properly for some time (until recently). I don't monitor this part of my site regularly so I am not sure when it began to fail. On his web site [http://chesstuff.blogspot.com/2008/11/chess-viewer-deluxe.html] he has a link to check LiveConnect object functionality (which fails for OBJECT tags). His recommendation is to "seek platform specific support which might be available from the JRE developers for your platform".
I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Until I checked the LiveConnect object functionality, I was unable to identify the source of the console error messages. This does seem to be the smoking gun.
Is Apple aware of this problem? Are these classes no longer supported? Has anyone else had this problem? You can attempt to recreate the problem locally by going to my web page: http://donsmallidge.com/DonSmallidgeChess.html

I just went up to check the LiveConnect object functionality page AND IT WORKED THIS TIME! I must confess, this is very mysterious. I will do some more checking and reply here if I can determine why it is working now (and more importantly, why it didn't work before).

Issue with class loading - Java concurrent Program

Hi ,
We are facing a strange issue for one of our customer.
Scenario :
We have a Java Concurrent Program (A.java ) which refers another Java class (B.java) , we modified the file B.java for a fix and created a patch. after applying the patch and bouncing the apache ,we found that B.java is loaded the old version of the class file.
We asked them to restart the concurrent manager and related services, still we see that old version of B.java is loaded. (confirmed by adding code throwing exception - throw new Exception from a specific line and found that its not getting thrown at run-time)
Any clue on this?.

Using ExecutorService class from java.util.concurrent package

Dear java programmers,
I have a question regarding the ExecutorService class from java.util.concurrent package.
I want to parse hundreds of files and for this purpose I'm implementing a thread pool. The way I use the ExecutorService class is summarized below:

        executor.shutdownNow();However, the code snippet above creates all the 1000 threads (Dock objects) at once and loads them to the executor, and thus I'm worrying about memory leak. I haven't tested it on 1000 files yet but just on 50 small ones, and even if the program prints out "Parsing file No "+i 50 times at once, it executes normally the threads in the background.
I guess the write way would be to keep the number of active/idle threads in the executor constant (lets say 20 if the thread pool's size is 10) and submit a new one whenever a thread has been finished or terminated. But for this to happen the program should be notified someway whenever a thread is done. Can anybody help me do that?

Ok I found a feasible solution myself although I'm not sure if this is the optimum.
Here's what I did:
        ExecutorService executor = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(10);
        Future<String> future0, future1, future2, future3, future4, future5, future6, future7, future8, future9;
        Future[] futureArray = {future0 = null, future1 = null, future2 = null, future3 = null, future4 = null, future5 = null,
        future6 = null, future7 = null, future8 = null, future9 = null};
        for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++){
            futureArray[i] = executor.submit(new Dock(i));
        }I created the ExecutorService object which encapsulates the thread pool and then created 10 Future objects (java.util.concurrent.Future) and added them into an Array.

Simplistically...
A method is a block of code that makes some Objects in the block of code abstract (those abstract Objects are the parameters of the method). This allows us to reuse the method passing in different Objects (arguments) each time.
In a similar way, Generics allows us to take a Class and make some of the types in the class abstract. (These types are the type parameters of the class). This allows us to reuse the class, passing in different types each time we use it.
We write type parameters (when we declare) and type arguments (when we use) inside < >.
For example the List class has a Type Parameter which makes the type of the things in the list become abstract.
A List<String> is a list of Strings, it has a method "void add(String)" and a method "String get(int)".
A List<File> is a list of Files, it has a method "void add(File)" and a method "File get(int)".
List is just one class (interface actually but don't worry about that), but we can specify different type arguments which means the methods use this abstract type rather than a fixed concrete type in their declarations.
Why?
You spend a little more effort describing your types (List<String> instead of just List), and as a benefit, you, and anyone else who reads your code, and the compiler (which also reads your code) know more accurately the types of things. Because more detail is known, the compiler is able to tell you when you screw up (as opposed to finding out at runtime). And people understand your code better.
Once you get used to them, its a bit like the difference between black and white TV, and colour TV. When you see code that doesn't specify the type parameters, you just get the feeling that you are missing out on something. When I see an API with List as a return type or argument type, I think "List of what?". When I see List<String>, I know much more about that parameter or return type.

Create class in java. package

Not good practice, I know, but is it it possible to do. It seems as the VM (1.3) does not bother about if I set up the RuntimePermissions to be able to access and define Class In Package java.net. I still get a prohibited package name exception.
Anyone that knows something about it?
I tried to create a class in java.net with these permissions defined in pollicy file

When I query user_objects I get some java class and java source objects
select * from user_objects where object_type like 'JAVA %';
How do I drop these java source and java class objects from the database
I tried using the following command
drop java class /4a524d89_AutoTransliteratorPk
drop java source AutoTransliteratorPkg
But I get error ORA-29501: invalid or missing Java source, class, or resource name
Please someone help me in dropping these objects

Where can I find the original code for class in Java API

I am learning Java programming and wanted to see how professionals handel all cases. Can anyone tell me where I can find the original implementation code for classes in Java API? It would be a great help for me.

the basic source is where you installed java in a file called java.src, its either in the main dir of one of the sub dirs ( mmm ), contains all the source code for all the classes in the api.

The ability to implement more than one interface in Java is sometimes referred to as multiple inheritance of interface. I don't know if that term is in common use outside of Java.

but do make sure you're legally allowed to decompile those classes.
If you are allowed to look at the source, most authors will provide you with it.
If not, you may be guilty of a crime if you do decompile, and at the very least are guilty of breach of contract with your supplier.

IMPDP to import JAVA CLASS and JAVA SOURCE from .DMP file

I have 1 dmp file of Y schema , containing the missing "JAVA CLASS" and "JAVA SOURCE" s.. Can I import the the same to the schema X using IMPDP

Why Object is a super class in java?

hi all i have got one basic doubt in java. why Object class is a super class in java. C++ is also a object oriented language but there there is no concept of making object as a super class, but in java why we are having that. thanks

Personally, I find the fact that C++ (and Delphi) DOES NOT have a common base class something of an inconvenience at times. The reason is that Java is an (almost) pure Object Oriented language, while C++ and Delphi are partially-object-oriented additions to C and Pascal respectively.

Failed to invoke startup class "ClusteredMQJMSStartup", java.lang.ClassNotFoundException

          Windows 2000
          BEA WLS 8.1 SP1
          Created a config based on the template for a WLS with Workshop - "cgServer".
          Changed <configdir>/startWeblogic.cmd to include the extra classes I need to execute
          my startup class.
          Added 2 new servers via the Admin console (http://localhost:7001/) entitled "cgServer2"
          and "cgServer3"
          Added a cluster and added cgServer2 and cgServer3 to the cluster.
          Targetted startup class to the cluster.
          Stop everything.
          Start cgServer via the startWeblogic.cmd script - OK.
          Start cgServer2 via the startManagedWeblogic.cmd script - OK.
          Start cgServer3 via the startManagedWeblogic.cmd script - OK.
          BUT
          if I try and start the managed servers via the admin console, each server reports
          that it cannot find the startup class:
          <11-Feb-2004 11:00:34 o'clock CET> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000286> <Failed
          to invoke startup class "ClusteredMQJMSStartup", java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:

          What have I missed in the configuration of the Node Manager (I assume it is that)?
          I want cgServer to be the admin server and cgServers 2 and 3 to be my application

          FYI - the same code with the same configuration for a single server (no cluster)
          works fine.

Check your Startup class code...Are u trying to read any "*.properties" file ?
It is possible that that particular properties file is present only in ManagedServer1 Box and Not in the ManagedServer2 & 3 boxes.
