Classcast exception when getAttribute called.

I am having an issue when I pull an object out of the session and cast it to
          the correct type, I get a class cast exception. This exception normally
          occurs when some other exception is thrown in the system. It also occurs on
          Solaris more often than on NT. I see on NT if I rebuild the and deploy the
          servlet and support classes ( which would make sense, since the classes have
          changed).
          Thanks,

Yes, I have posted workarounds as have others. There are also workarounds
          in the WL online doc.
          1. Sometimes changing the location of the class file will work. Moving it
          so that it is not loaded by the servlet class loader will sometimes solve
          the problem.
          2. You can serialize the data (into a byte array) stored in HttpSession.
          3. Sometimes the error is avoided completely by invoking a JSP when the
          server starts up before any servlet is called.
          ... and so on.

  • Classcast exceptions when persistence units deployed as shared libraries

    Hi
    We are using weblogic 10.3.3 & eclipse link 2.0 persistent units:
    We have uim-entities.jar(persistent unit) under uim-core-lib.ear(/APP-INF/lib) that is deployed as a shared library. We have multiple applications(ears) referring to this shared library (same persistent name, "default") using lib-ref in weblogic-application.xml. We are facing issue while deploying and running the application.(Primarily classcast exceptions on log4j classes and entity DAOs). If the persistent unit is replication in each app's APP-INF/lib, we are not seeing those exceptions.
    Are there any known issues in using persistent units as shared libraries.

    Murali,
    Hi, the CCE for Apache Log4J is outside of the scope of JPA - i have not see the "oracle.communications.inventory.api.framework.logging" package in play before - what kind of connection factory are you using or are you using JTA?
    Note: WebLogic 10.3.4.0 has been upgraded to enable container managed persistence context injection and no longer requires the use of shared libraries. See the wiki post...
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Development/JPA_2.0/weblogic#Enabling_JPA2_support
    For WebLogic 10.3.3.0 and JPA 2.0 usage as application managed libraries using the <wls:prefer-application-packages/> weblogic-application.xml tag see the wiki post...

  • ClassCast Exception when trying to cast a getApplet() call.

    I have a quick question abotu Applet Contexts.
    I have an applet that tries to get the context of another applet on
    the same page. The following is a sample of what I'm doing:
    try {
         TestApplet app =
    (TestApplet)getAppletContext().getApplet("test");
    catch (Exception err) {
         err.printStacjTrace();
    The above gives me a ClassCastException error. Yet if I remove the
    cast and just get do the following:
    Applet app = getAppletContext().getApplet("test");
    I actually get a hold of it and when I examine the class name of app,
    it is TestApplet.
    But if I try to cast it, I get the same error (i.e. (TestApplet)app).
    I have tried the above approches as well a variation of the parenthesis grouping, i.e.:
    TestApplet app = (TestApplet)(getAppletContext().getApplet("test"));
    or
    Applet app = getAppletContext().getApplet("test");
    ((TestApplet)app).methodCall();
    and they all give me the same result.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve this issue? Any hints
    or help will be greatly appreciated.
    Jorge Fraser.

    I'm almost willing to bet that the two Applets are loaded from different ClassLoaders.
    If two Applets are on the same page, but they have different lists of required classes, then for some wacky reason they seem to load in different ClassLoaders.
    If two applets load from different classloaders, then even if they are in the same JVM, you cannot cast one to the other.
    You can test this by calling applet.getClass().getClassLoader(), and printing the value out just to see if they're the same reference.
    If this is indeed your problem, then this is a major pain for you, and you'll need to cheat by putting the same list of classes in both applets.
    This happened to us, and I won't go into gory details but we had an applet using JARs A, B and C, and another applet using JARs A, D and E, and needed a third applet which could take screenshots of the other two. As a result we had to make all three applets use all five JARs, and there was no way to stop this. (Even using a static method to register each applet falls down, because the static contexts are different in the two classloaders.)

  • My volume isn't working except when phone calls come in.  It does work when I plug in head phones.  I don't have the option on the screen to adjust volume.

    Also, the "change with buttons" is on.  If I reset everything, do I lose text messages and emails and info?  Also, I have a 4S and software is uptodate.

    I had this problem yesterday also
    did it get right or not yet?

    Hello,
    Like you said it was the problem with url.
    The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.
    Thanks !
    Regards,
    Loveline.

But these objects are being sent to the server as String objects but not as OutlookContact objects. I don't know whats happening. Can anyone please tell me is there any setting that I need to set in the jnlp file.

  • NO_PERMISSION Exception when calling secured EJB-methods

    In WL6.1, I have an Ejb with secured methods. The (Swing) client application accesses the Ejb through rmi-iiop using the JDK1.3.1 Orb.
    Unfortunately, it seems that the caller identity (which was supplied in the InitialContext lookup) is not propagated
    to the server: any call to a secured method
    fails with a CORBA NO_PERMISSION Exception.
    Non secured methods work fine.
    Using the t3 protocol the program also works fine, but that would require
    the 25Mb weblogic.jar on all clients,
    which is unattainable for us.
    Any ideas how this situation can be corrected?

    I am still getting the NO_PERMISSION Exception when using "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory".
    We use Sun's JRE, version 1.3.1_01.
    Am I forgetting something?
    My code is as follows:
    InitialContext context = null;
    try {
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    ht.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:80");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "system");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "system_password");
    context = new InitialContext(ht);
    Object objHome = context.lookup(EJB_NAME);
    MyHome myHome = (MyHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objHome, MyHome.class);
    MyRemote myRemote = myHome.create();
    //NEXT LINE Crashes when method is secured:
    myRemote.securedMethod();
    finally {

  • CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_DATE_TIME:XSLT exception when calling Web Service

    I have created a Web Service on our Sandbox SAP server and am attempting to call it from our DEV SAP Server.  The returning structure contains date fields that sometimes are null. A null date field in SAP is equal to 00000000.
    When I call the Web Service and the date values are null, I get the following exception:
    CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_DATE_TIME:XSLT exception.An error occurred when deserializing in the simple transformation program /1SAI/TXS982F8A669D1A54B7AD0D.
    Value 0000-00-00 is not a valid date in accord with the XML format for ABAP
    I would not expect to see this type of error, sense the call is between two SAP systems.
    Is there anyway to fix this without moving space to any null date field in the function module?
    That's kind of annoying to do sense I have so many date fields.
    Example:
    IF date1 IS INITIAL.
        MOVE space TO date1.
    ENDIF.
    IF date2 IS INITIAL.
        MOVE space TO date2.
    ENDIF.
    IF date3 IS INITIAL.
        MOVE space TO date3.
    ENDIF.
    IF date4 IS INITIAL.
        MOVE space TO date4.
    ENDIF.

    Hi All,
    I got a solution for this exception. Hope it will help to all facing this problem.
    I was using proxy created from SE80.
    In my proxy for exporting parameters of methods I have changed all date fields.
    Earlier it was having Techn. type under Attributes of fields : XSDDATE_D. I chnaged this to DATS.
    It worked fine.

    When the Scripting events are disable in server side (by setting sapgui/user_scripting_disable_recording=TRUE in the server profile see Note 692245) ans i try to set the GuiSession.Record property to true i recieve a COM exception.
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))
    at System.RuntimeType.ForwardCallToInvokeMember(String memberName, BindingFlags flags, Object target, Int32[] aWrapperTypes, MessageData& msgData)
    at SAPFEWSELib.ISapSessionTarget.set_Record(Boolean )
    My question is - is this is the expected behavior? (I wouldn't expect exception when mode is disabled).
    Thanks,
    Dror.

    The problem is: i don't know how to check for the HTTP-Header, because
    my call
    <i>SOAPOutPayload = accessor.call(payload);</i>
    throws the mentioned exception, even though it works behind the scene.
    Is it possible to check for the HTTP-Response-Code in the catch block?
    We want to avoid an synchronous scenario because we don't need the result and the WebService is rather slow.

  • Visual Studio error when trying to open a Feature in a SharePoint Project (An exception occurred while calling 'OnImportsSatisfied')

    I am getting the following error message in both Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio 2013 when I try to open any "Feature" in a SharePoint 2013 project.
    An exception occurred while calling the 'OnImportsSatisfied' method on type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.SharePoint.Designers.Package.ViewModels.FeatureViewModel'.
    (the stack trace then continues on for ages - shown in full below)
    I _think_ this started happening when I ran Windows Update recently.
    This happens for both old and new projects, both Sandbox and Farm solutions.
    I have tried:
    Removing all Windows Updates from the past week
    Removing all previous versions of Visual Studio (2012)
    Completely uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio (with reboots inbetween)
    Installing VS2013 Update 1
    Nothing that I do seems to fix this ..
    Full Error:

  • Why there's error stating "unreported exception" when call function

         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
              Object obj = evt.getSource();
              if (obj == DeleteButton)
                   readfile(); // Error here
                   deletefile();
                   rename();
    ========================================================================
         public void readfile() throws Exception
              BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("WhiteCollar2.txt"));
              line=in.readLine();
              found=0;
              while (line!=null)
                   if ((line.substring(0,6)).equals((String)textfield.getText()))
                        System.out.println("CORRECT\n");
                        found=1;
                   else
                        writefile();
                   line=in.readLine();
    ========================================================================
    How come when I call the above readfile(), it gives me :
    DeleteScreen.java:70: unreported exception java.lang.Exception; must be caught or declared to be thrown
    readfile();
    However if I change to the following :
    try{readfile()};
    catch (Exception e) {}
    The code works fine. I am still figuring out on throwing exceptions etc. But how come I already throw exceptions it still complains exception not declared?
    Thanks and Rgds

    but the writefile() function which I called in the
    read() also throw exception but how come I do not need
    to catch it for the write()?The error message says it all: must be caught or declared to be thrown. Thus, you must either catch the exception using try-catch or you must declare that your method throws the exception using the throws declaration.
    Your call to writefile() is in the method readfile() that already declares that it throws Exception. So there is no problem there.
    BTW, you should know that it is generally ill-advised to catch or declare exception using the superclass Exception. You should use as specific an exception class as possible. In this case I suppose it would be IOException.
