Classes missing from autocomplete
I'm using Eclipse with the Flex Plug-in. One of the Flex projects in my workspace suddenly no longer displays everything that should appear when the autocomplete window pops up.
For example if I want to add a VBox into an mxml file and I type the "<mx:" the autocomplete window opens but does not contain VBox. In fact most of the "standard" classes are missing. Classes such as AdvancedDataGrid and related classes and the various charting classes show up, so it appears that maybe only the Data Visualization classes are available in autocomplete for some reason.
Two other Flex projects in this same workspace do not have this problem. All the classes show up in autocomplete as expected.
I'm not sure exactly when this started. I recently installed the Flex 3.6 SDK and reconfigured the projects to build with that (instead of 3.5 which they were previously pointed to). It may have started then, but I'm not sure. And it seems odd that it only affects one of the three projects.
Any ideas?
Steve
I'm actually working in Eclipse (the SpringSource Tool Suite) using the Flex Builder 3 plug-in. Restarting didn't help, nor did doing a clean and rebuild.
The project does happen to be a Flex Library but I don't believe it would qualify as a Spark only, ActionScript only or Mobile project.
However, I think I found and solved the problem.
A few weeks ago I had added a source path in Properties->Flex Library Build Path. In the "Source Path" tab I had added the path to the "frameworks" folder of the Flex sdk that I was using in order to be able to easily open Flex source files and set breakpoints inside them (I was debugging a screwy problem with validators).
It seems that having that source path defined in the project was screwing up autocomplete. Removing the source path appears to have fixed the problem. Now all the expected classes are showing up in the autocomplete window.
It still seems odd that even with the Source Path defined the Data Visualization classes were showing up and not really anything else. But maybe that was due to the specific directory I had pointed to in the "Source Path"???

Class file missing from war file deployment
I have a web application that is being deployed to a war file. I have deployed several times successfully. Then with the latest changes, there is a class file that does not get included into the war file. It does get compiled and does exist in the project directory.
The class file is in a seperate project from the project where the war file deployment profile is; however both projects are in the same workspace.
There are several other classes in the project that contains the missing class file that does get included in the war file. I don't see anywhere in the profile where these files are selected individually.
I'm at a loss as to how to fix this problem other than add the file after deployment.
Appreciate any help or ideas...

Class mx.collections.ISort missing from latest framework Maven release
Following migration from Flex 3.3, I had to modify one of my class that implements ICollectionView. This interface had changes in its API that require to replace:
public function get sort():Sort
return null;
public function set sort(value:Sort):void
//No Impl
by:
public function get sort():ISort
return null;
public function set sort(value:ISort):void
//No Impl
Using FLex SDK 4.5 bundled with FlashBuilder 4.5, my code is compiling just fine. However, when I build my project using Maven, I have the following errors:
D:\dev\vanguard\trubk.eclipse37.flex45\core\src\main\flex\com\taleo\vanguard\controls\diag ram\HierarchicalCollectionView.as(147): col: 30 Error: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: ISort.
public function get sort():ISort
^
D:\dev\vanguard\trubk.eclipse37.flex45\core\src\main\flex\com\taleo\vanguard\controls\diag ram\HierarchicalCollectionView.as(153): col: 34 Error: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: ISort.
public function set sort(value:ISort):void
I'm using the latest flex framework release in the Maven Repository:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.adobe.flex.framework</groupId>
<artifactId>framework</artifactId>
<version>4.5.0.18623</version>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
mx.collections.ISort interface is missing from the release and definition of mx.collections.ICollectionView is different from SDK bundled and Maven Repo ...
What can I do ?
EDIT: There are a lot of other differences between SDK available in Maven Repository and downloadable SDK ...Yup. The source files are simply missing from the 4.5 source releases....I'm hitting the same issue when trying to rebuild the SDK with flexcover changes applied.

I am trying to use the desktop samples for the JRC. The parameter setting sample will not compile because the ParameterFieldController class and the ReportClientDocument's getDataDefController() method are missing from com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.* .
I have release 2 of Crystal Reports XI Developer and should have the most up to date jrcerom.jar file for that product. What is it going to take to get this working? This is a critical aspect of using Crystal Reports for our java application reporting needs.
Prompt attention to this is appreciated.<p> </p><p>That class is not in that package, but another package imported in the sample, and in a different jar file. </p><p>The readme file should reference a deployment guide listing the required jar files, which I've copied here:</p><p> <a href="http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/TechnicalPapers/cr_xi_r2_jrc_deployment.pdf" target="_blank">http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/TechnicalPapers/cr_xi_r2_jrc_deployment.pdf</a></p><p>Sincerely,</p><p>Ted Ueda </p>

ITunes was unable to load data class information from sync services on windows pc
I have been able to use iTunes on my windows 7 pc for several years with no problem to sync calendar and contact with Outlook 2013; Suddenly I'm getting this error message. iTunes recognises an iphone but I can't sync it. I've tried uninstalling iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support, rebooted the PC and reinstalled iTunes. Nothing works. Can anyone help please?
Error message missed off previous post - "iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services"
-
First: I get the message telling me that "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
Second: In the Summary Tab under Backups, iTunes is telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to my computer - which is not true. It's also telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to iCloud. Again, not true. Although my backups are all missing from iTunes, I can see what I think is them in their folder: C:\Users\*your user name here*\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync.
Third: iTunes is SLOOOOOOOOW. It takes nearly ten minutes - sometimes more - to launch, and when it does, it's constantly not responding. It seems every time I touch something it stops responding.
Fourth: I've been searching this "help" forum for a solution, and I've seen many other references, yet the only suggestion I've seen from someone from Apple is a reference to a solution that is over 2 years old - and DOESN'T WORK for anyone I can see who's tried it!
I've tried everything I could think of, and that others have suggested, including:
Uninstalling and re-installing iTunes
Ensuring I have the latest version of iTunes
Re-setting sync history
Renaming my Backup folder at the path above, and letting iTunes create a new one
Running around the house whilst pulling my hair and yelling obscenities
None helped. At all.
Hmmm... Been a devoted Apple/iOS guy for years, but maybe it's time to switch to Android?I've resolved the issue with iTunes constantly not responding. It's a bit embarrassing. I had a DVD in the drive that was corrupt, and once I was able to remove it - BAM - iTunes ran perfectly.
I'm still getting the Sync Services message, and my backups are still not showing in iTunes.
Getting there.... I hope! -
[SOLVED] - Package xf86-video-via is missing from repositories!
Hi,
I have a VIA card as follows:
VGA Compatible Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. S3 Unichrome Pro VGA Adapter (rev 01)
My X doesn't work except in VESA mode. But in Vesa mode, when I play videos in mplayer, I can't fullscreen them.
When I checked the sample xorg.conf files mentioned in the Xorg wiki, I find that I am advised to use the xf86-video-via package.
But the package xf86-video-via is missing from repositories!
pacman -Ss xf86-video-via doesn't give results!
Please help.
Thanks.

Apache POI - xssf und ss missing from package
Hi Everybody,
I have downloaded the Apache POI 3.2 from http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/poi/release/ (mid5 checksum says download is complete) and then placed the jars in my classpath variable (under win XP). Then I have tried to run a demo program provided on the apache poi website. The demo program starts as follows:
package org.apache.poi.ss.examples;
import org.apache.poi.xssf.usermodel.*;
import org.apache.poi.ss.usermodel.*;
import org.apache.poi.hssf.usermodel.HSSFWorkbook;
But Anytime i compile the program I get the message that the "package org.apache.poi.xssf.usermodel.*; does not exist". And also same message for the package "import org.apache.poi.ss.usermodel.*;". And when I have a look into the POI jar files (using winzip) I can see that there are no folder named xssf. In the folder ss there is no subfolder usermodel!!! Does it mean that they are missing from the package? Has anybody already met this problem? Or am I just a silly very beginner :)?
Would be happy if somebody helps me.
ByeHi Keith,
thanks for your answer. I provide you herewith the information you requested
1- I think I have download the right jars. I went to http://apache.atviraskodas.com/poi/release/bin/ and then download the zip file
2-Now ihave used the -cp option as follows:
javac -cp c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\poi-3.2-FINAL-20081019.jar;c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\poi-contrib-3.2-FINAL-20081019.jar;c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\poi-scratchpad-3.2-FINAL-20081019.jar;c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\commons-logging-1.1.jar;c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\junit-3.8.1.jar;c:\pathtothedownloadedjars\log4j-1.2.13.jar
BusinessPlan.java
But I still have the error message
3- here is the dir listing of the jar files

A random assortment of photos that I use to teach have gone missing from my iPhoto library. They were present when I showed them to my class last week, and when I tried to display the same photos again this week, they were gone. One big block of missing photos is from the same date; a few others are from different dates. I have tried rebuilding the library--no luck. The original files are not in the Masters folder, either. I know I didn't delete them manually because A) I have never emptied the trash from within iPhoto (everything I've ever placed in the trash is still there), and B) I know better than to mess with the Library package.
I'm guessing at this point that the photos are just plain gone, but can anyone explain how or why? Is there anything I might have done inadvertently to cause the disappearance? Is this a known issue with iPhoto? It's driving me crazy. Thanks.Others have inadvertantly deleted photos via the Finder and the My Photos item in the left hand pane of each Finder window.
It's not an iPhoto issue. Those original photos were deleted from the hard drive somehow but not by iPhoto. You can get a library without those "missing" photo thumbnails as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Javafx.scene.layout.Priority missing from the API Doc
I notice there is an important class "javafx.scene.layout.Priority" missing from the JavaFX 1.3 API Doc. I can still use that class without any problems in my apps.
Thanks for spotting that - I'll fix that before the next release.

Please remove Class-Path from kodo-jdo-runtime.jar manifest
This is repost. Class-Path should not be in manifest of
kodo-jdo-runtime.jar
It causes problems with security manager when using signed jars under
webstart. It can potentially cause all kind of other problems due to class
path conflicts
Seems to be a problem in manifest. It is due to Class-Path in manifest. I
deleted manifest from kodo-jdo-runtime and signed it seems to be ok.
I got more meaningful error now - serp.jar is missing
I would suggest to remove Class-Path from this jar. I've seen some very
weired behaviour of systems with Class-Path in different jars. I believe it
should be only in your application jar
Class-Path: serp.jar jca1.0.jar jca.jar crimson.jar xerces.jar jaxp.jar
jdo1_0.jar jdo.jar jdbc2_0-stdext.jar jndi.jar jta-spec1_0_1.jar jta.jar
I would also remove following:
Main-Class: com.solarmetric.kodo.enhance.JDOEnhancer
OpenTools-UI: com.solarmetric.modules.integration.jbuilder.KodoTools
OpenTools-Build: com.solarmetric.modules.integration.jbuilder.KodoBuilder

Harvard List Style missing from Pages
I am a student. I went to try to create a new document to take notes for my classes this semester and saw that the Harvard list style was missing from the list of styles found on the side bar. I believe this is an issue with iWork 9.3 update. I tried going to iWork on the Cloud to impliment it there, but it was not listed there either. I tried to uninstall and reinstall iWork, but to only have the issue rise again. Is this just missing from the update or am I missing a file?
Harvard is a List styles. You also have a template named Harvard

But here's my problem:
I'm using jre 7 with the latest version.

On the forum where is the game developed i got the following answer:
''+it seems your OS/jre installation tries to start the jar as an applet which fails, because it's a regular application and not an applet. is there any way you can convince your jre to start LS as an application? i would like to give better/more detailed advice, but i'm not running windows, so i can't check for myself/try to work out a step-by-step guide.+ ''
As I have browsed the internet for hours and haven't come up with a solution I'm asking for some help.That error seems to indicate that the JNLP file is broken because it is missing the starting starting <jnlp> XML tag; I'll take a guess and just say that it is completely empty. Since it works for other users, apparently somehow when you download it on your computer you end up with a broken file. No idea why, no way for me to know why either. I don't have access to your computer. All I can say is: try in another browser and if that doesn't work, try on another computer. If it works there, well then you may have to face the fact that your computer might need a clean install.
And PS: this is a Java programming forum, not technical support for whatever game you want to play that just happens to use Java. -

Both the downloads icon and the documents icon are missing from the dock. I try to drag them from Finder and nothing happens. Where they should be there are very light grey bars. This sounds odd, but I think they got pulled below the dock. Sometime they appear in grey behind the dock but cannot be opened by clicking on them. How do I get them back.
(this is not going to solve it but it will help us see what you're saying. can you hit shift+cmd+4 at the same time, the cursor will become crosshairs. now hit space bar. the cursor should become a camera. place this camera on the dock, the dock should be highlighted when doing this, and click the mouse.
A picture will be saved on your dock, upload that picture here for us to see.
if you have your dock hidden this will not work, you'll need to right clickt he track where it separates your applications with the trash icon and then right click that go to dock preferences and then uncheck automatically hide and show dock. you can also access these settings in system preferences>dock
should look something like this (I customized my dock so it won't look exactly like this but it will isolate your dock
