Classpath in Sun ONE Studio

Question

I know the IDE ignores your defined class path, and uses its own internal one. My files are set up with the Tomcat structure, i.e.
c:/SourceCode/app1/web-inf/classes and web-inf/lib
I am trying to implement Log4J, and put the jar file in my app's 'lib' file. However, the IDE cannot find it when I compile, with the error: "package org.apache.log4j does not exist".
Doesn't it automatically pick up the jar files within a mounted package? I tried placing the jar file at every level within the above class path, but always got the error.
When I put the jar file in the base /SourceCode file and mount it separately, my program compiles OK, but I'm not sure why I need to do this, and how it will run when I move it to Tomcat.

Hi,
You are right, jar files are required to be mounted seperately in the studio to use them in the classpath.
Jar files within the mounted package are not picked up
by the studio.
As far tomcat server is concerned, the jars in the lib will be picked up by the tomcat class loader..
