i have some trouble using GroupDataModel.

this code called not just once. so when it's called i have to clear the GroupDataModel.
but it's always crash. and when i debug, the problem is when searchModel->clear();
i've already tried replacing that with free(searchModel) but the crash still happen.
the crash says : Segmentation Fault
someone please help me!

I never told you to disable settings in that part to the history settings, you did that yourself ([[/questions/897299#answer-276610]]).<br />

Did you try to delete the downloads.sqlite file in case there is a problem with the file?
Did you check the permissions for all files in the Firefox Profile Folder?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

IPod cleared itself, crashes my computer

I was listening to my iPod today (I -THINK- it's 5th generation... it's a 30 gig iPod video), and it froze on me. No big deal, I thought, it does that occasionally... So I reset it. It ended up taking a while to reset, and when I turned it back on.... there was nothing on it anymore. I was pretty ******, but I had most of my music backed up so it was no big deal. I couldn't find a way to get the files to work, although I did have the 12 gig of space taken up by something "Other". I reset it to factory settings thinking that would solve my problem, but now whenever I connect my iPod to my computer, I get a blue screen and it crashes. I've had my iPod for almost two years and I'd be sad to have to replace it, so I'm hoping someone might know how to fix it?

this exact same thing happened to me, without the blue screen of death. Did you end up fixing it?

Why is FM10 crashing when I change conditional text settings?

When I go from "show certain conditions" to "show all" in some, but not all, files in a book, FM 10 crashes.
I've tried saving as MIF, then reopening, but it still happens eventually.
Sometimes it happens with the first file I open, sometimes not until after several files have been opened and
had their conditions changed, so it doesn't seem like a memory leak.

I posted previously under "[FrameMaker General Discussion] Internal Error 10024, 9332515, 9332572, 7278063". Log file has been sent several times to [email protected]. Last week, I sent many zips in separate e-mails of the entire project to Adobe Engineering Team for analysis (the project is too big to upload to Acrobat.com). No response yet. I suggested they need to test using a similar conditions as what I describe below.
BTW, I tried the above mentioned MIF wash (every single file of many book files), cut & paste to blank file, rebuild book from scratch, uninstall/reinstall FM10 ... all to no avail. I did trial and error (a shot in the dark) too: reset dictionary library, and choose other default printers (either Adobe PDF virtual printer or another physical printer on the network). Nada. No dice. It still crashes. I am not using Track Changes, so that is not likely a possible culprit.
I am running the latest FM10 patch on a Win7 64-bit HP Mobile Workstation. I have seen misc. posts online about FM crashing with laptops (Lenovo was mentioned), as well as unsubstantiated rumblings about laptop internal services or Adobe Flash or Adobe Acrobat X interferring with FM. Yes, I have many, many conditions present in book files; yes, yes, I have checked all source and target x-refs are in agreement for conditions. The only thing that works is to turn off All Cross-References in the Update Book dialog box. The book will update with that option cleared but crashes with it checked. It is definitely tied to cross-references and conditional content.
It is as if FM runs out of processing bandwidth or memory, both of which are impossible given the laptop has megatons of RAM and hard disk. IT guy here speculated maybe Symantec Endpoint (security pak) is getting in the way, but that has not been substantiated; the process of removing/reinstalling this corporately mandatory security software is onerous and we are avoiding expermenting with it for now. It is disappointing Adobe cannot exterminate whatever gremlins plague FM. As a result, I cannot trust that FM11 is worth the expense (i.e. How can I convince the powers-that-be to approve the purchase when FM10 crashes like a plane without wings?).
I will post any response I get from Adobe to this Discussion and the other one previously mentioned.

A indesign file keep crashing while open

I am using indesign cs6 at windows 8.1.
One of my indesign file keep crashing while open.
It would show "failed to recoverey the file" do you want to recovery again?
The windows would show adobe Indesign CS6 has stopped working either i click yes or no or cancel.
But i can't find any crash report.
I've tried empty caches, remove SING and reset peference. I still on work out the same.
The document actually load a little bit. I can see the document name, paragraph styles and character styles clearly then crash.
It happed after I put an TOC.
What can I do with it?
I don't have any other backup for the file.
And I can open some other indesign file without any problem.

You need to empty the InDesign Recovery folder in your user profile (it's hidden). See Replace Your Preferences for the path to the InDesign SavedData file and you should find it in the same folder.
After doing that, ID should start without crashing while attempting to recover the damaed recovery data. You should then be able to open the last saved version of the file unless it also is damaged.

Twitch.tv crashes Flash plugin

This is a long standing problem that I've had for at least a year, using both Pale Moon and Firefox. At the moment, I mainly use Pale Moon and have been using Firefox to try to find a solution to this problem, since Pale Moon doesn't generate crash reports. I've been using Google Chrome as a work-around, as it works perfectly for me.
My problem is that when I visit any page on http://twitch.tv with Pale Moon or Firefox, the browser freezes for several seconds. I get a prompt saying that Shockwave Flash may be busy or may have stopped responding, and asks me if I want to Stop Plugin or Continue. Stopping the plugin stops the freezing, and any videos report that the Adobe Flash plugin has crashed. The problem persists if I press continue. This happens even when there aren't streams loading on the particular page, but only on twitch.tv.
I've already tried disabling hardware acceleration, disabling all of my addons, resetting all of my preferences, reinstalling the plugin, deleting my browsing history and cookies, making sure that the plugin is up to date, updating my graphics drivers, clearing my registry, and allowing sites to store data on my computer, but the problem persists in every case.
I haven't had a problem with any website outside of http://twitch.tv.

Same problem here, since quite a while. Windows 8.1 64 bit here on AMD system. It ONLY happens on Twitch.tv sites. :/

4.3.1 Safari, Ipod and App Store Crashes

After upgrading to ios 4.3.1 I have the following problems:
- Safari crashes when opened
- AppStore crashes when opened
- Ipod crashes when opened
- Settings crashes when I try to Clear Cookies in Safari settings
I tried to:
- Restarting iphone (holding Shutdown and Center button at same time for 15 sec.)
- Clearing Safari history, cookies and cache (clearing cookies crashes settings)
- Restoring iPhone using iTunes
None of these worked! I didn't tried to reset all settings because it would wipeout my entire content and account settings for mail, work, ...
Has anyone experienced this? Solutions?

Half of my apps crash since updating to 4.3.1, when I'm using the iPod function on my 3GS when it crashes the home button becomes unresponsive and the screen goes black not blank it fills up with blackness. It takes me holding the power button for like 5 seconds to get it back. Also when I synced the thing this morning it went from the battery/syncing screen to the home screen like 4 times before it actually synced with my computer. And yes I'm sure the cable was plugged in. Now I maybe a windows boy but I like to think I know what I am doing.

Time Machine won't complete backup to a new drive

I've recently replaced my WD MyBook 1TB drive because it was beginning to fail. The current replacement is a LaCie 2TB.
I use time machine to select the drive and start a backup and it runs for a little while and then fails with no message at all. I have tried many suggestions found on this site an on the net. I deleted the partition on the disk and set it up for use with Time Machine, I have run repair on both that disk and my main hard drive. At first I thought it was the firewire connection and tried USB instead, but there appears to be something else wrong. I also tried a new WD 2TB drive, with the same results, so I don't think it is either the cable, the disk, or the port.
I tried a sudo grep backupd /var/log/system.log as someone suggested and here are the results:

That's clearly a crash. There's a crash log, but we really don't need it.
A +Segmentation fault+ is some problem with the app trying to access a piece of memory it's not authorized to, or trying to change something it's not allowed to change.
You've already tried most of the things we'd start with (assuming you ran +Repair Disk+ or +Verify Disk,+ not permissions).
Your installation of OSX may be damaged. I'd suggest downloading and installing the "combo" update. That's the cleverly-named combination of all the updates to Leopard or Snow Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.
I'm not real sure what version of OSX you're on -- one post says 10.6.6, the other 10.5.4.

If an earlier version of Leopard, change the "8" at the end.

Does turning off backup erase existing backups?

I was surprised to find all my iphone and ipad backups on iCloud had disappeared! It seems as if disabling (switching off) auto backups in the device settings ERASES all existing backups WITHOUT warning! Since the autoback runs whenever the device is 1) connected to power and 2) connected to WiFi, this is very disturbing. There are times when I want to recharge my batteries and connect to mail (for example), but do not want to use up WIFI bandwidth (possibly at great expense) doing a backup. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a work around? ICloud chat help did not seem to think it was a problem, but I now have lost all my backups! What is particularly disturbing is that there was NO WARNING that this would happen.

When ever safari crashes I understand that it keeps that data and next time you connect it appears as diagnostic data. I always turn off/on my iPod touch when that happens. My question is that turning off iPod erase iPod diagnostic data? Is it necessary to turn off the iPod to stop crashing?

Why do some webpages not finish loading images when using cellular data instead of WiFi?

I'm using iPhone 6 64gb. The problem existed with iOS 8.0.0 and the iOS 8.0.2 update.
I have had trouble with webpages loading slowly over AT&T LTE. Sites with multiple images frequently have trouble loading all the images entirely. Instead, the unloaded portion of the image fills in with black or the image fails to load at all. If I switch to WiFi when available and refresh the page, the images will usually reload completely. I never had this problem with the iPhone 5s on the same websites.

I'm on AT&T with an iPhone 5 first gen. This problem is happening across iPhone4s al of the way to iPhone6+
Thought it was only affecting newer iPhones with new Graphic Processors but I later ruled that out.
Seems to only be happening on LTE / 4G. Is not affected on WIFI for me.
I clear cache, crash browser and even reset the phone but will still get unexpected results in LTE or 4G.
The images seem to be getting prematurely cached and are only partially rendering.
When I save the these half loaded images in photoshop I get a warning that they are damaged and/or truncated.
I have saved images out as PNG and JPGs renders poorly.
About the images-
These images are only 15k and there are 16 on the page so I can't see why they would get bottlenecked when loading.
also, there is no background-color of black anywhere in the CSS.
Note the TV-Like static on the bottom image similar to the comment ryzer08 above.

Help with PS CS4 for Mac (Lion 10.7.3)

I bought Photoshop CS4 about a year and a half ago and it worked on my old Macbook (10.5.8) absolutely fine. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and now Photoshop crashes about every ten minutes for no apparent reason. By "crashes" I mean that the spinning wait cursor appears and I am forced to use force quit as Photoshop is no longer responding.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turned off automatic graphics switching (I read on a similar discussion that this might help) and nothing seems to work. It's very very frustrating, made more frustrating by the fact that neither Apple or Adobe seem to be able to speak to me in person about this matter. I desperately need Photoshop for my work and any help would be greatly appreciated.

do your crashes generate an Apple and Adobe crash reports?
if so, copy the Adobe report and paste it here
try this for some basic maintance & troubleshooting in the meantime

FixSqlRegistryKey has stopped working

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2014 Express under Windows 7 SP1 x64.
I've previously had SQL Server Express (2012?) installed on this machine, but I've uninstalled it.
I'm getting the crash FixSqlRegistryKey has stopped working during the check for prerequisites.
I've Googled for hours but can't find a solution.
Any help appreciated.
P.S.: Why can't Microsoft fix what is clearly a CRASH in their installer and upload a fixed installer onto their download site. Is this too much to ask?

If there's any garbage left over from incomplete Microsoft installs that you think I should delete let me know. I have Revo UnInstaller which seems to work well.
I've tried installing both from SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe and from the extracted files in the SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU directory.
Keep in mind it's a CRASH in FixSqlRegistryKey.exe. It's a bug; I appreciate the advice and workarounds, but I'm a bit irritated Microsoft don't fix their product.
Edit: I had a look at that link. So this bug has been around since SQL Server 2008 and still isn't fixed???

Why does it take so long to back up my iPhone?

Everytime I sync my iPhone, it takes about 10 minutes to back up my iPhone. I don't know why. I don't have a slow computer. It's rather fast actually. And my brother just got a new iPhone (3G) and it I synced for him and it took seconds to back up.
Is it supposed to take this long?

Well, I found a series of steps somewhere on the Apple support site (or forums) but I don't remember exactly where. I have times where the backup of my 16GB iPhone 3G takes 5 hours or more to complete. I have found that in my case, it is all related to one app that I have which I also tend to crash quite often. The more it crashes, the longer the backup takes. I can remove that one app from the phone before I sync and the backup will complete in less than a minute.
I don't have all the details on the steps I originally found, since I now know what causes my issue. Basically, the steps had you configure iTunes to not automatically sync when you connect your device. Then you connect the device and right mouse button click on it. In that menu you do something but I don't exactly remember what. It has to do with the crash/error reports that are stored on the phone. You probably need to clear those crash reports out and then sync your phone on a regular/frequent basis to keep them cleared out.
