  • Clear POJO Data control cache

    Hi I am using Jdev 11.1.1.7
    I have a POJO based Data control which am using for tree structure.
    I have this tree inside a popup.
    So when cancelling or after the purpose of the popup is over.
    I want to clear the cache of the data control.
    I tried several ways to do that like having a methods in my java class where making the object  null and calling the methods on cancel.
    But nothing worked .
    How to clear the Pojo DC.

    Hi AlejandroTLanz   ,
    I tried the above method.
    I created a method in Java class which is used to make the List null used by the tree.
    And then calling finditerator.executequery.
    I could see that the list is getting null.
    But In Java sampler It still shows that Objects are present.
    I guess the Object are still in data control cache...
    I tried to clear the DC Cache by calling the DC.resetMethod.
    But nothing worked

  • Web service based data Control lost it's operations

    HELP!!
    I came back into a Jdeveloper project that had web services exposed as data controls and now the operations and their returns are missing in the Data Control Palette!!
    All I see is the Data Control name, NO operations under them.
    How do I get this back easily?

    Hi,
    the sample was built in 11.1.1.3, which however should not matter. The arguments are not manually added to the metadata. Instead your web service method must have it defined as an argument. ADF WS Data Control then makes sure the parameter metadata is generated as well, when you create the WS DC

  • Howto change property of javabeans based data control?

    Hi,
    I have a swing application which displays a combobox. This combobox is bound to a javabeans based model using ADF.
    The combobox is enabled/disabled based on a value in another combobox, so sometimes the combobox is enabled, sometimes it's not.
    We've currently implemented this using an action listener, which call comboBox.setEnabled(false).
    This works, but when you refresh the iterator binding for the panel, the combobox is always enabled. I assume this is caused by the fact that the adf xml file describing the javabean contains the following attribute: IsUpdatable="true".
    How can i programatically change this attribute? Can i set a property for the jcombobox control binding, or can i change the AttributeDef used by the combobox?
    Thanks,
    Andrej

    How do i programatically change an adf javabeans based control value from editable to not-editable?

  • POJO Data Control af:table with selectOneChoice

    Hello All,
    JDeveloper 11.1.1.6/7
    I have a peculiar issue that I am trying to solve.
    I have a POJO based data control and an af:table based out of it. One of the fields (category) is to be a selectOneChoice driven by a WS Data Control. When I drag-drop the target attribute (category) as a Select One Choice and create a dynamic list based on the WS Data Control the row becomes uneditable.
    The selectOneChoice from the jspx:
              <af:column headerText="#{bindings.children.hints.category.label}"
                         id="c3">
                <af:selectOneChoice value="#{row.bindings.category.inputValue}"
                                    label="#{row.bindings.category.label}" autoSubmit="true"
                                    required="#{bindings.children.hints.category.mandatory}"
                                    shortDesc="#{bindings.children.hints.category.tooltip}"
                                    id="soc1">
                  <f:selectItems value="#{row.bindings.category.items}" id="si1"/>
                </af:selectOneChoice>
              </af:column>
    The relevant sections from the pageDef are as follows:
    <tree IterBinding="childrenIterator" id="children">
          <nodeDefinition DefName="info.bijesh.samples.ws.model.Children"
                          Name="children0">
            <AttrNames>
              <Item Value="id"/>
              <Item Value="name"/>
              <Item Value="category" Binds="category"/>
            </AttrNames>
          </nodeDefinition>
        </tree>
    <list IterBinding="childrenIterator" id="category" DTSupportsMRU="true"
              StaticList="false" ListIter="ReturnIterator">
          <AttrNames>
            <Item Value="category"/>
          </AttrNames>
          <ListAttrNames>
            <Item Value="categoryCode"/>
          </ListAttrNames>
          <ListDisplayAttrNames>
            <Item Value="categoryDisplay"/>
          </ListDisplayAttrNames>
        </list>
    If I remove the Binds attribute from the Item definition, then the row becomes active but of course the drop-down list is empty. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong. I have uploaded the sample workspaces here - http://www.bijesh.info/bijesh/ADFWS_TestCase.zip. WebServiceHost contains the LOV Web Service and the WSClient workspace contains the test page.

    Hi,
    there is a bug I filed this week on that issue. Could it be you filed the issue as a SR with support? Because this is where I got the test case from. For me the problem reproduced witha static list as well. So if you want to check if this is the same you see, please try a static list in the SOC. If this too makes the field un-editable then its the same effect. The testcase I had was 11.1.1.7 and I fixed an issue in its POJO model to run the sample (just in case you belong to the same customer). I didn't test with 11.1.1.6 as obviously the bean data control is different in 11.1.1.7 (at least it complained about a missing class when I tried in 11.1.1.6).
    If the testcase I true is not yours, please contact customer support with your test case or send it my way in a zip file renamed to "unzip"

  • How to create dynamic table using POJO based DataControl

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0. I'm not using ADF BC.
    I've a requirement to display the Dynamic table in my search page.
    In our product we are using POJO based Data controls.
    I created a task-flow and page fragment. I tried to create the dynamic table by drag-drop of searchResults from my Data control, I see the option for Read-Only Dynamic Table, but when I select this option, I don't see anything happening.
    Does the Dynamic Table work with POJO data controls?
    Any inputs would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    First U have to crate Extended View Object to your actual View obj.
    Now take Page with Panel  Splitter ,on First facet drag View obj as table and on second Facet Drag Extended View Obj as table.On page loading U have delete all rows from Extended View object.And then u have write bean code on button click to get current select rows from above view objct,and for Filter rows from Second View obj according to selection of rows from first view obj...

  • Clear all rows in a Bean Data Control

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    In my use case I have a screen that interacts with a Bean Data Control I have followed the steps in the following URL to create a Bean Data Control
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_36/jdtut_11r2_36.html
    My screen successfully interacts with the Bean Data Control. This screen lives in a Bounded Task Flow (BTF). I can add rows using a Create Insert binding and can delete Rows as well. Once the user gets all rows into the Bean Data Control that they want inserted to a DB table, I can iterate through the Bean Data Control and post those records to the DB. It is possible for the users to add rows to the Bean Data Control and then link to a brand new screen which is in a different BTF which leaves rows in the Bean Data Control. Now the user goes back to the original screen. Upon returning, I want to empty (clear all rows) for the Bean Data Control so that they have a fresh start. Could you please provide guidance on what I might need to do to be able to clear a Bean Data Control when entering a BTF

    Hi,
    You can create a method to clear your Bean Data Control and call it with an invokeAction with property refresh="ifNeeded" and refreshCondition="#{pageFlowScope.isTimeToClearAll}", so pageFlowScope.isTimeToClearAll must be true only when you need to clear the BDC.

  • NULL values and Data Control based on Web Service

    One of my ADF control is based on a Data Control created through a web service. Every thing is working fine except the way ADF control is handling the null values return by the web service based data control.
    For example for null columns the web service is sending the following:
    <ns0:beginDate xsi:nil="1"/>
    or
    <ns0:sourceCode xsi:nil="1"/>
    But the corresponding column in my ADF data control is trying to initialize itself using the value ‘[{nil=1}]’. It fails with the following error.
    2006-04-20 13:31:37.510 WARNING JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:java.util.Date with value:[{nil=1}]
    I will appreciate if someone could help me resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

    I tried again, but it seems that I'm unable to reproduce this in a test project which uses another data controls but is still as similar as possible to the original project in which I've encountered this behaviour.
    However, using a data control based on the same web service as in the original project, [{nil=1}] appears again instead of emtpy values.
    Is it possible that there is a significant difference in the generated wrapper classes? The underlying PL/SQL is the same (in strucutre) and the corresponding elements in the response XML of the web service are the same in the two cases, always like <ns0:someResponeValue xsi:nil="1"/>, so I don't know how it is possible that I can't reproduce this behaviour.
    A short description of the projects:
    Services/Model:
    I created a PL/SQL funcition in a package that returns a user type object. This return parameter consists of a non-empty string and a null value string. On top of this I created a PL/SQL web service and a data control for that.
    View/Controller:
    A JSF JSP page which has a read-only form showing the return values of the web service.

  • I can not find (see) the Data Control Accordion

    Hello all,
    I cannot find (see) the Data Control Accordion, I just installed the Jdeveloper 11g (Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.2.0) - November 2009) from this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11.html
    I started a new ADF BC application, but I cannot find the data control accordion to drag and drop the components I created in the application model. Is there anything I must do after installation (post installation), is there any libraries need to be installed? Please, I need a help to create my application, I’m totally stuck, many thanks for any help.
    Kind regards,

    If you delete the JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36 directory - does your IDE get back to the right way of displaying the data control?Hello,
    Many thanks for your reply, kindly find attached screenshots for the two installation of Jdeveloper 11g I have (release 1 & 2), it shows clearly that the “Data Control” is available for release 1, but not available for release 2, even we are talking about the same application!
    Regarding the “JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36”, I’m not sure if I have it (attached a list of directories installed), I was not able to find it under my installation directory, therefore I can’t answer your question, but please advise if it could be the reason, how I may have it, do you think there is something wrong with the installation? I noticed that some persons having the same problem before me, so what was wrong, and how they solve it? I appreciate any help please, many thanks.
    Regards,
    Nabil
    P.S. regarding the attached files, sorry I don't know how to attach files to my reply (you may email me at [email protected] so I can send you the screenshots through email, if you please), any help regarding that too will be appreciated.

    This methodAction calls a Data Contol based on a POJO which is using a JAX-WS Proxy. This Data Control POJO is packaged in a separate JAR file named ServicesProxy.jar.
    Both ServicesProxy.jar and the ADF application using it are deployed as two distinct shared libraries used by webcenter portal application.
    An important information is that the error does not happen when debugging the ADF application on my IntegratedServer. The error happens only when deployed as a shared Lib used by webcenter portal application.
    This jar file ServicesProxy is used by other applications within our portal, so I think that the data control is properly created.
    Do you have any idea what could be the cause of such error?

  • Managed Beans vs. POJO Data Control for sharing data

    Hi,
    I am currently using JAX-WS proxy client and POJO Data Controls to retrieve data from web services. This data needs to be shared across users. Normally I would use application scoped managed beans for this, but since I prefer using data controls and the binding layer, would using static POJO Data Control classes achieve the same thing?

    Hi,
    Data Controls don't exist across user sessions so in your use case use a managed bean in application scope. If you want to make this available from a Data Control
    - create a POJO
    - Use EL in the POJO to access the managed bean
    - Create a DataControl from the POJO
    This way the Data Control exposes the data as an API but itself always reaches out to the managed bean as a data store/cache

  • Create dynamic table using pojo data control

    What are the options we can in order to create dynamic table columns based on pojo data control?
    We have a class A and there are some attributes say A.x, A.y, A.z
    Within class A, we have a collection of class B and has attribute say B.k
    Within class A, we have a collection of class C and has attribute say C.j
    Every instance of class A has same number of instances of class B
    Every instance of class A has same number of instances of class C
    We would like to display a table like this
    A.x, A.y, A.z, [B.k, B.k, ...], [C.j, C.j, ...]
    How should we do that?
    Thanks

  • Mobile app based on web service data control and VO with VC runtime error

    Hi,
    Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
    Windows 7, 64 bit.
    Reproduceable with Android emulator but not on iOS and iOS emulator.
    I can not test on real Android device because we do not have it in our office.
    So I don't know wether this issue is related to android emulator only or to android in general.
    Also not reproduceable by Oracle support.
    I have a VO "Employees" with a VC "department_id = :departmentIdVariable" and exposed the find method for this VO via service interface in AM.
    (see demo video from https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/developing_with_oracle_adf_mobile?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook).
    In a ADF mobile app I create a parameter form and amx:listView like demoed in the mentioned video.
    Whenever I test this app on android emulator I get the error below.
    Exact the same page used in a second feature works fine.
    I found out that the problem only occures on the first attept (this means when I open the page on the second feature first then this will fail and the subsequent call of the first page will be successfull).
    The problem does not occure when the web service data control does not contain a method based on VC with bind variable.

    Does anyone has seen the above error ?
    I have recreated the model and mobile app more than 20 times, re-installed Jdev, re-created Jdev settings (integrated WLS & Co), ran the web services on a different machine.
    On my site this problem is 100% reproduceable with android emulator.
    regards
    Peter

    Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
    iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.
    Hope that resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Data Control does not show POJO returned from method

    Hi,
    I am running JDev 11.1.1.7. In my AppModule.impl I created a method that returns a simple POJO (which implements serializable) that has two String fields. I have exposed the method in the appmodule client interface. In the data control the method shows up with a return element instead of an object or any way to access the two String fields. I want to display the two String fields in separate output text components on my jspx page. I'm not finding documentation on how to do this. Can somebody point me to documentation or tell me how to make this change to the data control method return?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

    AM method can return custom type, but AFAIK there is no support for object introspection in design time.
    (so you can invoke this programmatically and cast to appropriate type, but you can't do DnD from Data Control pane).
    So, option 1 is to bind value property of your outputText fields to managed bean, programmatically call AM method, fill these properties manually and refresh your UI components(note that managed bean must be registered in viewScope or higher to preserve values)
    Option 2 is to create Bean DataControl (with this you will have DnD support)

  • Creating a adf page based on webservice data control

    hello
    i am using latest version of jdev 11g from otn.
    i created a VO based on EO and define a view criteria as well. i added that to a AM and exposed it as web service and deployed to a wls server.
    now i wish to created a adf page based on it so i created a ws data control based on the wsdl.
    in the data control section now i see service as findSearchOrder. When i try to drop it on the page it created a adf form with two input boxes findControl and findCriteria.
    So, I am not able to understand how exactly these are going to map to the actual search parameters?
    Please advise

    If you want to retrieve all records, you can set them to null.
    But of course, it depends on what you want to archive (I suppose you want a search form?).
    Please give us your complete JDev version. (Help > About > About tab)
