Clearing the Organizer of deleted images

I'm not a huge fan of the Organizer for one simple reason: it has all those danged gray boxes that indicate where files WERE (before they were either moved or deleted).
Is there a simple way to get rid of every one of those blank gray boxes at once? I have something approaching 6000 images, around 26GB, on my hard drive, and I have been re-organizing, re-sizing, whatever a lot, and MANY of them get deleted, but those stupid gray boxes don't go away. It will take me AGES and time I simply don't want to waste going through and eliminating them one-by-one.
Why is Adobe Organizer the ONLY program of which I know that does that? "My Computer" doesn't, ZoomBrowserEX doesn't, XaraExtreme doesn't......
Every grey box, all at once -- just GONE. Please tell me there's an easy way!

Ward's suggestion back in message 4 to try Deleting from the Reconnect scenario seems worth investigating. It avoids the "redo" of the appraoch of deleting the Catalog.
For the Catalog -
Presuming that you are willing to redo any Tagging, additional considerations for deciding whether to delete your Organizer Catalog completely is that there are "things" other than tags that will be lost.
- if you have Version Sets (edited and original tied together), you will loose that Version Set relationship when you delete the Catalog. You could later use Stacks as an alternative - but they are not really the same. Recreating a Version set is much more cumbersome than deleting the grey thumbnailed photo files.
- if you have any Collections (specifically the Organizer function of "Collection", where you selected and sequenced a number of photos, this work is lost and would need to be redone.
- if you have any Creations, the definition of these Creations is in the Catalog and would be lost. This may or may not be signficant depending on whether you have a reason to want to work with this Creation again.

I have been working on a project involving a lot of images. After some painful discovery, our team realized that initWithContentsOfFile is necessary to prevent caching of the images.
This led us to realize that it would be very handy if the cache could be cleared when a didReceiveMemoryWarning message is fired. Does anybody know how to clear the cache, short of restarting the app?

The cache will still be there, and show up as "other" when looked at in iTunes, but shouldn't interfere with other applications.

How do I clear the control alt delete key downs when using input acquire.vi?

I am trying to monitor keystroks... When I use the Input Acquire.vi after I log in to my system it says the Control LAlt and the Delete key are down and my code does not like that because the keyboard value is not corect...the Keypressed array always has 3 keys down....
Is there a way to clear them or send key ups some how to get rid of them.

There is no way that you can press multiple buttons at exactly the same time. Which keys are you trying to press? Are you talking about "PlatMods" (shift, ctrl, etc.)?
Keep a shift registers with the states of the desired buttons in a boolean array and change the respective elements to true or false, depending on key-up and key-down events. On the Key down events, check if all elements are true and act accordingly.

Unable to delete PO or clear the GR IR difference for service PO

Hi Experts,
We have an issue in GR value difference which is preventing us to delete the service PO.
Scenario Explanation:
We have service PO for value 5500 USD.
1. Service entry / GR is posted for 5500 USD
2. IR is posted for 5499.98 USD
3. IR reversed for -5499.98 USD
4. When the Service entry / GR is reversed system automatically calculate and took the invoice value and reversed with value -5499.98 USD
Finally in PO history
GR contains difference 5500 - 5499.98 = 0.02 USD
IR = 5444.98 - 544.98 = 0
Now in order to clear the difference we tried to execute MR11,
the PO is not listing in MR11 transaction.
Why the system is not listing although the PO contains GR/IR difference?
How to clear the difference and delete the PO?

I have tried the as per the advise but it is still SES reversing with 5500.
In my scenario:
You accepted a service entry sheet for 5500.-.
The goods receipt document was posted with 5500.-.
You posted a partial invoice with final invoice indicator for 5499.98.-.
You cancel the invoice.
You reverse the acceptance of the service entry sheet. The goods receipt reversal is posted with the value 5499.98.-.
Solution as per Note:
Accept the service entry sheet again. The goods receipt document is posted with 5500.-.
Post an invoice with final invoice indicators for 5500.02.- this value is calculated as follows:
5500 = (value of the service entry sheet) + (difference between goods receipt posting and goods receipt reversal).
Cancel the invoice.
Reverse the acceptance of the service entry sheet. The goods receipt reversal is still posted with 5500.-.instead of 5500.02
=> The total of the invoices and the total of the goods receipt documents are both 0.- in the purchase order history.
Just for checking even i tried invoicing 10,000 usd , cancelled 10000 usd and Reversed service entry still reversing with 5500.
Is it because the GR based IV is checked?
Goods Receipt indicator in delivery tab is mandatory to carry out SES, if i check that GR based IV is set automatically.

MediaSource Organizer Never Delet

Let's say I have 0 albums on my computer's playlist. And let's say I have a brand-new MuVo2 FM unit. I connect it via USB, I run a sync, and voila, I have the exact same ten albums on my player.
But then let's say I get tired of one of the albums. So I delete it from my computer playlist, meaning I have 9 albums now on my playlist. On my next sync, I expect my MuVo to also have 9 albums. I expect it to get rid of the one that's not on my playlist.
But no -- after doing some searching on the board, I've come to the conclusion that Creative MediaSource Organizer never deletes anything from my MuVo2 FM unit. Is this true? I can't believe Creative expects to compete with Apple if they don't allow a sync to be a true sync.
If they're afraid of newbies losing their music somehow, then should't they at least have the option to allow the Organizer to delete files from the MuVo?
I've tried the Realplayer since one of the messages says it does sync, but Real makes a total mess (no directory structure, and it doesn't even write the playlists).

What will happen to the organization of library if I removed the songs from windows explorer? Will iTunes automatically updated without all the deleted songs, or it will indicate 'missing location'? Any fast ways to clear this 'missing location' songs?

Background: I found it easier to identify duplicated songs in windows explorer as the songs will be renamed .... 1.mp3, thus enabling me to remove the duplicated songs; unlike in iTunes where I know the trick of showing duplicate songs, but you don't know which one is the one with 1 at the end of the file name.

One way is to use iTunes Folder Watch with its option to check for dead tracks on start up.
Another option is with a set of Lost & Found playlists.
Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. You can delete them all with a Ctrl-A to select them and Shift-Delete to remove them.
You can then delete the Lost & Found playlists.

Photoshop's "Background" is a special layer and does not support transparency. You need to convert a Background layer to a normal layer if to want to cut out parts of the layer.

How can I get my Nikon D3x raw images to download into the organizer of Elements 6.0

I recently purchased a Nikon D3x and have been unable to view my raw images in Elements 6.0. I have downloaded the Raw 5.4 update. When that did not work, i uninstalled Elements and the 5.4 update and reinstalled them again. I am able to download the raw photos into the Elements Downloader, but once the photos go to the organizer, i get the screen saying that "the file is damaged or is a format that cannot be included". According to the Adobe Tech Support Dept., Elements 6.0 is able to support the Nikon D3x, with the Raw 5.4 update. Has anyone else run into this problem and have a solution?

I am talking about the File Formats folder that gets created when you install PSE. You have obviously been to that folder already because you said you installed Adobe Camera Raw 5.4. Go to that folder in Windows, and make sure that the old plug-in (which was named CameraRaw.8bi, but may have been renamed by you) is deleted from that folder (not renamed, not moved to a subfolder). Then, following the instructions are on the page where you downloaded Camera Raw 5.4, install the new plug-in.

What happened to all the images in the Organizer?

I posted a similar question in the Photoshop Elements forum and got no answer that solved the problem. The reason I'm now posting it here is that I suspect copying the lessons from the Premiere Elements 11 Classroom in a Book may have caused the problem.
The problem: I have a dozen folders in the Organizer. They all had photos in them up until a few days ago. Now when I single-click on the folders I get this message in the Media Browser, "No media to be displayed."
After I got some suggestions in the Photoshop Elements forum I tried exploring around in the Organizer. I double-clicked all the folders. When I did this, what showed up in all the folders were a dozen frames from a lesson (the same lesson) in the Classroom in a Book. This is crazy.
I'm now on Lesson six in Classroom and I am learning a lot from these lessons, but I wonder if copying the video examples from the book's DVD has somehow screwed up my Organizer.

After I've worked through all the lessons in the Classroom book I'll get yours. There is a lot of functionality in Premiere Elements 11 so I'll need to do some studying from different perspectives to become familiar with all the stuff. I'm just going to use simple editing procedures to make videos for my websites but it's facinating to experiment with all the tools that Premiere Elements has.
I wonder who wrote Classroom in a Book. On Amazon I see - Author - Adobe Creative Team. But I think one person wrote it because sometimes an explanation is in the first person, and this first person has a voice. I trust a one-person author more than a team. It's just like a movie that's written by a team of Hollywood writers. You know that such a project is probably crap.
Back to my problem. When I right-click on any of my folders and then click on "Reveal in Explorer" I see all my photos. But if I just click on a folder the way I used to do a few days ago I get that "No media to be displayed" message.
What I'm going to do when I finish the Classroom lessons is delete all the DVD lesson clips from the Organizer and start fresh. I also just got the Photoshop Elements 11 for Dummies book so perhaps Part I about the Organizer will set me on the right course.

This is an edit after five minutes. I just found the solution! I clicked on View/Media Types/Photos. Now I can see all the images in all the folders after I put a check mark in front of Photos.

How could I delete a single message on messages beta for OS X instead of having to clear the entire chat conversation?

It might just be my OCD acting up but sometimes when a message does not send, I would rather simply delete it instead of resending it since it no longer becomes pertinent to the conversation. I have been unable find a solution except clearing an entire conversation which is not what I would like to do. Thanks for any help.

I imported a bunch of photos from iPhoto 4 on one machine to iPhoto 5 on another, expecting it to catch duplicates, without testing beforehand (duh). It didn't catch them, and now I'm trying to figure out which were the imported ones so I can delete them.
As this looks to be a laborious task if done from within iPhoto, and deleting the files via the Finder is a no-no -- assuming I can even identify the duplicates -- is there a third-party app, or even a good trick, for doing this?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Your del is Local Variable, it can't be accessed out of the if statement. you need to declare it as global variable like below. And if you want to collect the string, you could use the List to collect, not a string. the string will be split to chars

I have a long list of bookmarks. They are not sorted. They do not appear anywhere in the "organize bookmarks" window. Where are they? I want to delete a bunch of them but can't find a way.

This is Firefox 3.6.8 and Mac OS 10.5.8.
Right clicking on a bookmark does nothing. I don't know if that is a Firefox version issue or a mouse issue, but the mouse can right click on the Mac OS desktop and get the usual menus.
It is possible for me to delete bookmarks which still point to an active web page because there I can use the star to edit the bookmark. That is way too cumbersome a process for the long list I have. Some are old and no longer point to an active page. The star comes up empty in those cases anyway and I can do nothing about the bookmark.
Bottom line is that I just need a way to see the whole list and choose the ones to delete.
I thought they should all show up in the unsorted bookmarks folder but it is empty. That may be the crux of the problem.

Update - I discovered that the entire list of bookmarks can be accessed in the Organize Bookmarks window by clicking on the icon for Bookmarks Menu.
This seem like odd interface behaviour to me.
All the other software I use follows the pattern that an icon with a triangle to the left, which you click on to expand the menu tree downwards, shows the entire contents of the category when you click on the triangle. In other words, you don't get a different response by clicking on the icon from what you get by clicking on the triangle.
It also seems odd to me that when an unsorted bookmarks folder is automatically provided that unsorted bookmarks would not be placed there by default.
Anyway, by getting the list of bookmarks displayed this way I was able to simply right-click on items in the list and delete them, as I thought I should be able to do. Problem solved. Organize Bookmarks interface found to be somewhat unintuitive.
