Click on link--Display or Download?
When a user clicks on a file item link in a folder the object is opened and displayed in their browser. I have been told that there is a standard functionality that allows the user to choose if they want want an item saved or opened and displayed when they click on the link, but have been unable to find any documentation involving this. Does anyone know where I could find this information?

The functionality you're referring to are browser settings - nothing to do with the Portal. Under Netscape, you can control the behaviour under Edit-Preferences-Navigator-Applications. IE derives it's settings from the Windows Explorer-File Types tab.

Clicking a link redirects and downloads instead of opening what should open
Every link i clicked any link which would normally open a page I was redirected to my downloads and Firefox dowloaded a file which was useless and not able to be accessed, prbably because i wasnt trying to download anything, rather i was trying to open a web page. Seems to have stopped diong it for now but it was doing this for anything i clicked . Didnt restart or anything just tried it again and now the clicks seem to be working fine again.
Also not sure if its related but Firefox continues to shut down unexpectedly with no explanation.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When I click on a PDF that would normally cause the downloads folder to open, I am instead taken to a blank white webpage and nothing happens.
I use a Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Broken link attempting to download 8.0.5.1 EE for Linux
The download link for Oracle 8.0.5.1 EE for Linux is broken. Clicking the link on the download page goes to http://download-east.oracle.com/Oracle8051EE_Intel.tgz which returns an error 404 (Not found). Attempting to download the standard edition results in the same error for ...8051_Intel.tgz, as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can find this exact version? I'm fully aware that it is VERY OLD and no longer supported...

App Store displays "too many HTTP redirects" after I click a link of the app from a browser. Help.
when i click a link to the app on the app store the browser closes and opens up the app store. after 3-5 seconds, a message pops up saying "too many HTTP redirects"
i tried to reset all settings, still the same error
i tried changing DNS servers, still the same error
i tried changing security encryption on the wifi router, still the same error
i tried to free up available space to 3GB, still the same error
i restarted, still the same error
This error occured 2 days after i updated the device to 6.1
the app store alone works fine, but when i clicked a link of the app from a browser, the app store displays this.

Nope. The security on iOS means that no app can interfere with the OS or any other app. An app may crash, but it cannot cause any other app to crash or misbehave, and no app can affect system functionality, like networking.

Nope. The same security in iOS means that not only are there no viruses (or malware of any other kind) for iOS, but also that anti-virus apps are not possible. They would not be able to scan anything except themselves, which would be singularly unuseful. Thus, there are not actually any true anti-virus apps in the App Store. There are a couple that can scan your e-mail for you, but that is achieved through connecting to the IMAP server where your e-mail is stored. They cannot scan the phone. -

Safari 1.3.2 won't download files when I click on links
I've been having an issue with my computer. When I'm logged in my account in my 1.8GHZ IMAC POWERPC G5, safari 1.3.2 I click on links such as on apple Iworks 30 day trial download, or to download the Mozilla Firefox webbrowser and it says it downloaded the file, however no download window opened up nor did it download anything. This apparently only happens on my account. If another user logs in my computer under their user account they can download everything normaly. I though Safari was corrupted, so I tried reinstalling OS 10.3.9 and still the same issue. I think it's something to do with the java settings,
I tried everything already and still nothing.
I also tried to trash the Download.plist . I found this in Home_folder>Library>Safari folder>Download.plist
After I trash it relaunch Safari an tried again but NO LUCK!! PLEASE HELP!I trashed the download.plist in the safari folder and restarted my computer and safari still does not download any link I click on to download. I usually have to press on the "Control" key and select download linked file...however some links you cannot download anything and when I do that only the icon gets downloaded not the actual program such as Firefox mozilla or Iworks 30 day trial.

i generally download songs from free sites like songs.pk, emp3world.com.........i am able to download songs from same sites in other browser like opera just by clicking on link to download, but in firefox a black screen appears and media is played online without getting downloaded.........plz help

After clicking Safari prompt box to "Download Flash..." , I'm linked to the Adobe Flash Player Download page. I click the "Download Now". The page advance to next page in the download process but then immediately goes black and nothing happens. System preferences firewall is off and apps are allowed from anywhere and in Safari other plug ins are allowed and cookies are not blocked and pop up windows are not blocked. Why won't Flash Player download?
Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.
If you are installing for the first time,this is where to DL it.

I received a notice that there is an update for my Lightroom 5. I have the non-creative cloud version. Is the update available for non-cloud users? It says to download click the link and it takes me to Cloud free trial screen.
It is the same installer. You can run it as 30-days trial (CC version) and decide later for CC or stand-alone. To license as stand-alone, follow this guide.

On my Ipad I seem to be having a problem when trying to play YouTube videos embedded on Facebook.
When I click the links, I get a message saying: "Flash Player upgrade required."
and under it, it says, "You need to download and install the lastes version of Adobe Flash Player to view this content"
and also a green button saying "Get Flash Player"
I get this if using chrome or safari .
I can go direct to YouTube it just works.The Facebook link to the video is accessing an Adobe Flash video. Unfortunately, no iOS devices can play flash.

Download Photoshop CS3 from Adobe when I click the link I am getting http 404 page not found.
I have a copy of Photoshop CS3 on my old Macbook. Need to move to my new Macbook with no CD drive. Following instructions it says to download CS3 and enter serial number. When I attempt to download from Adobe and click the link I am getting http 404 page not found.
